Abstract:In this paper,the heat-transfer characteristics of the heating panel of an electric heating radiation floor system were investigated.The experimental results showed that the material and characteristics of heating panel have a great influece on the surface temperature distribution and the energy consumption.Although the temperature inside the panel fluctuated periodically in the experiment,the temperature on the surface of the panel was basically uniform.The heat loss through the under surface of the electric radiant panels was almost equal to the total heat loss of the radiant panel.

Abstract:Abstract As one of the renewable green energy sources, solar energy has great advantages in energy conservation and environmental protection. With the deepening of the research on solar heating technology, more issues have been discussed. This paper summarizes the research status of solar heating technology from two aspects of solar energy heat collection and heating implementation. Firstly, heat collection technology is still the key to solar energy heat utilization, which focuses on the numerical simulation of heat collector and the influence of heat collection structure on heat collection capacity. Secondly, thermodynamic analysis of heat transfer enhancement of ventilation gap and air flow in passive solar heating system is a hot topic; some scholars even put forward new heat transfer theoretical models and improved equations. Whereas in the active solar heating system, due to the imbalance and instability of solar energy, most of the research focuses on the construction of multiple complementary heating system and the corresponding optimal operation mechanism as well as the study of solar energy heat storage materials, devices and their heat storage performance. Thirdly, in view of the actual building environment in rural areas of northern China, it is proposed that using distributed solar energy collection method combined with heat storage technology and using green energy internet to distribute heat energy is the research trend of maximizing the application of solar heating in the region.

Abstract:Low-temperature radiant heating systems are widely used in buildings with significant energy conservation, and they are convenient for the utilization of low-grade energy resources and household metering. In this study, the practical application of a novel radiant floor heating system (RFHS) in cold regions is investigated via construction of an experimental platform for energy consumption and thermal comfort in an office building in Tianjin, China. The results indicated that the novel radiant floor exhibits higher heating capacity and heat transfer coefficient than that of a traditional radiant floor. During the experiment, the average indoor temperature was 25.0°C in the office room and 22.7°C in the conference room, and all instantaneous indoor temperatures exceeded 21°C. To avoid local thermal discomfort, the supply water temperature of the floor can be appropriately decreased by 2–3°C for operation. Additionally, the power consumption of the system is decreased by approximately 11.4% if the indoor temperature is decreased to 20°C. Hence, a 10-h operation mode per day can be adopted in the office building for energy conservation given that the novel radiant floor exhibits superior initial response to intermittent operation. Practical application: In this study, the practical application effect of a new type of water-passing floor is examined in cold regions to provide a design reference for engineering applications. Therefore, it is expected that the results will be helpful to researchers for indoor environments, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning engineers, system manufacturers, and those who want to analyze the operational performance of a radiant floor heating system.

Abstract:The capillary radiant panel for heating studied in the research can run with 30-50°C low-temperature heating resources. It is using of prefabricated forms, achieves heating and decorative integration, and overcomes construction inconvenience of low-temperature hot water radiant heating system. According to the heat transfer mechanism of heating terminals, the established numerical models were compared with laboratory testing to verify the accuracy of these models. Then the CFD software was applied to study the thermal environment of the room, which heated by the ceiling heating panel and heating convector separately. The distribution of air temperature field, as well as the thermal properties of these heating terminals was gained. Capillary radiant panel for heating, as a new heating method, has great potential for application development. The numerical study of this paper will be helpful makes such products extend in China.

Abstract:The structure and characteristics of panel floor radiant heating system are introduced,and the calculation model for heat transfer of panel radiant floor heating system is established.The variation of average floor surface temperature with the average temperatures of supply and return water as well as the variation of indoor air temperature,black ball temperature and irradiance with the height are studied by means of experiments.When the temperatures of supply and return water are between 30℃ and 40℃,the change range of average floor surface temperature is between 24℃ and 26℃,which meets the radiant floor heating standard.The distribution of indoor air temperature and black ball temperature can satisfy the requirement of people for the comfort.

Abstract:Compared with traditional air-conditioning systems which aim at maintaining the designed indoor air temperature and humidity, radiant panels are capable to improve the human thermal comfort through the direct radiant heat transfer with occupants. Based on the Fanger's thermal comfort model, the simplified PMV (Predicted Mean Vote) model and calculation equation of cooling load are established. This paper analyzes the relationship between the human thermal comfort and indoor sensible cooling load, and explores the design and operation methods of indoor parameters. The model room with typical boundary conditions in the hot-summer and cold-winter zone of China is simulated and analyzed by Airpak. The widely accepted PMV and PPD (Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied) indices are adopted to evaluate the indoor human thermal comfort. The parameters including the radiant surface temperature, the air supply temperature, the relative humidity and the ratio of the radiant surface areas are researched. The optimum indoor parameters in typical summer conditions are finally obtained, it is expected to provide a relevant reference for the design and operation methods subject to the radiant panel combined with fresh air system.

Abstract:In building energy consumption, the proportion of heating in energy consumption is very large. From the point of view of energy saving and thermal comfort, radiant floor heating system needs to be popularized and applied. This study takes the ground source heat pump and radiant floor heating system of an energy-saving demonstration building as the experimental plat-form. The indoor temperature of the operating system is obtained by the instrument at different heights. Indoor temperature fluctuation and distribution and the heating characteristics of the system can be obtained. Results show that the indoor temperature of the heating system meets human thermal comfort, and the indoor temperature of room which receives the solar radiation can still be maintained more than 18 °C in work time within two days when the sys-tem is closed. Moreover, valley electric operation and storage tank system operation mode makes the ground source heat pump and radiant floor heating system more efficient. The sys-tem is worth widely being used.

In the energy-saving emission reduction has become the trend of the times today, saving energy and reducing carbon emissions is the most fashionable way of life. Air source heat pump water heaters are increasingly being used in people's lives. It is well known that it has many advantages, safety, energy saving, comfort, environmental protection, but there are some factors that affect its development and promotion. This paper mainly discusses the development history of air source heat pump technology at home and abroad, working principle, working flow, turbo technology at present stage, efficient heat exchange, and the research status of air source heat pump technology, such as new type refrigerant and dual frequency compression frequency conversion, then it discusses the application of air source heat pump technology, has the advantage, and finally discusses its application and the existence of two major problems and suggestions for improvement. Abstract:Radiant floor cooling is suitable for environmental control in large space buildings with high-intensity solar radiation caused by a large transparent envelope. A simple method for predicting the performance of radiant floor cooling systems with solar radiation in steady state is proposed in this paper, and the key factors that influence performance are obtained. Cooling capacity of the radiant floor is significantly increased with high-intensity solar radiation and high-temperature building envelope surfaces in large space buildings. The effect of shelter of indoor furniture (such as chairs) on the performance of radiant floors is analyzed. The lowest floor surface temperature is located at the sheltered floor, and the cooling capacity of the sheltered radiant floor is also lower than that of the unsheltered radiant floor. A case study applying radiant floor cooling in a large space building is then analyzed, and the results are compared with those of a conventional all-air jet ventilation system. At the same indoor air temperature, the radiant cooling system can provide better thermal comfort at a lower operative temperature, and it presents a significant improvement in energy efficiency, with total energy demand 20-30% lower than the conventional all-air system. Abstract:Radiative cooling has been a hotspot for scientific research recently. As a passive cooling method, it uses outer space as heat sink, and has the advantage of low or even zero energy consumption. It has high potential in many applications such as building air conditioning, solar cell cooling, comfortable clothing, etc. This paper briefly reviews the development history and principles of radiative cooling, systematically introduces the structures and materials of radiative cooling, summarizes the design, preparation and characterization methods of radiative cooling materials, and also summarizes relevant application fields. The future of radiative cooling materials and technology is proposed at the end of this paper.

Abstract:Radiant floor air-conditioning systems are characterized by energy efficiency and comfort. However, at higher sensible heat loads and higher humidity conditions, problems such as condensation, poor comfort, slow thermal response, and difficulty in zoning control may occur. To mitigate these limitations, this study presents a composite air-conditioning system for radiant flooring that includes an air source heat pump., an underfloor coil, a fan coil and a dehumidifier for fresh outdoor air. The composite system was experimentally tested and analyzed for indoor thermal comfort under various operation modes in summer and winter in a specific thermal zone. On the basis of the experiments, the composite system comprises multiple energy supply points, and varying combinations between these functional endpoints can fulfill the comfort needs of the human body even in year-round working conditions. The radiant floor temperature varies from the dew point air temperature by roughly 7°C. Following the test day, summer radiant systems take approximately 30 minutes to reach the set indoor temperature and humidity level.. An hour after the indoor air has reached the desired temperature and humidity, the winter radiation system is activated.

Abstract:An experimental facility of one temperature-controlled room and three different specimen floors has been built. An electrically heated cable has been installed in the floor slab to heat the floor. The facility serves for the measurement and analysis of the thermal performance of the electrical radiant floor heating system. Twenty-four different schemes were tested and evaluated, including three kinds of floor structures and eight kinds of cable distances. By settling the experimental data of the whole process, the comprehensive comparison results are educed. The main factors that influence the result of electrical radiant floor heating system are found, and how these factors influence the system is also analyzed. The result is of guidance for the design, construction and operation of this sort of system.

Abstract:Radiant cooling system is a promising technique, which is suitable for independent control processes of temperature and humidity. The two main benefits of radiant cooling systems include the potential to save energy and improvement of indoor thermal comfort. However, both the poor heat transfer performance and condensation below dew point temperature restrict the widespread utilization in the residential buildings especially in humid environment. This research was focused on comprehending detailed performance of the radiant cooling panel when it used as an air conditioning system. Three radiant cooling panels with the area of 0.16 m(2) were prepared for investigation and a constant temperature and humidity environment chamber employed to simulate the different indoor thermal environments. The heat transfer performance and moisture condensation phenomenon of the radiant cooling panels were investigated. The results showed that the flow state of chilled water had the biggest influence on the heat transfer performance of the radiant cooling panels. The temperature difference between chilled water and the ambient was also observed to significantly affect the performance. Condensation of moisture on the radiant cooling panels was noted to increase the heat transfer quantity, but posed a challenge in using of the radiant cooling panel. Taking the performance of heat transfer and moisture condensation into consideration, the gypsum radiant cooling panel showed the best performance as compared to the metal radiant cooling panel and pure tube panel. The radiant cooling panels can work more efficiently especially when proper control strategies are employed to avoid condensation. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Abstract:Absorption heating has attracted increased attention due to its irreplaceable advantages in energy conservation and pollution reduction in heating and domestic hot water supplies. This paper presents the classifications and principles of different absorption heating cycles and comprehensively reviews their statuses and development in different application fields. Civil applications include direct-fired chiller/heaters, fuel-driven absorption heat pump water heaters, the latent heat recovery of vapors, hybrid compression–absorption heating, solar-assisted absorption heat pumps, absorption-based district heating, thermal energy storage and transportation, ground source absorption heat pumps and thermal imbalances in cold regions. Industrial applications include absorption-assisted drying, absorption-assisted evaporation, absorption-assisted distillation, and absorption-assisted waste heat recovery. Additionally, several rural application concepts are also provided. Based on the reviews, essential summaries and suggestions are presented, which are expected to extend the absorption heating technologies for additional contributions to energy conservation and environmental protection.

Abstract:Radiant cooling is currently widespread used in Europe due to cool and dry prevailing weather condition. It offers immense benefits including improved air conditioning comfort, energy conserving, silence in operation and low temperature gradient within the room. However, the use of radiant cooling is limited in majority of Chinese mainland region, where is generally hot and wet, due to insufficient cooling capacity and challenges posed by dew on the cooling face. For better use of radiant cooling technology in China, the experimental setup was designed and built. The heat transfer performances of the radiant cooling were investigated, and dew phenomenon was detailedly researched by visualization. In addition, the operation strategy of avoiding dew on the cooling face was present based on the concept of SCD (sub-cooled degree).
