Abstract:"Time and space effect" of deep foundation pits in soft soil areas is one of the great study and practical achievements.It includes "Time effect" and "Space effect".With the rapid increase of excavation depth and area,the "Space effect" has become more and more obvious,and the deformation control and environment protection have become more and more difficult.A construction case of deep foundation pit close to running subway tunnels was demonstrated according to the "Space effect" theory.The deformation of retaining structure was strictly controlled,thus the safety of running subways was guaranteed,and the experience could be referred by similar projects.
