A Research on the Calculation of the Natural Frequency of Belt Drive System for Engine Front End Accessories

Abstract:A Holzer-type two loop iteration scheme is investigated for analyzing the natural vibration characteristics of the engine front end accessory belt drive.A calculation process of two loop iteration algorithm is given for multi-pulley system,and the necessary and sufficient condition for the convergence of inner loop iteration is derived.With consideration of the possibility of divergence in inner loop iteration,it is then replaced by direct solution technique to form a hybrid algorithm.Finally it is indicated by two calculation examples that the hybrid algorithm proposed can accurately and effectively calculate the natural frequency of the system.
