Changes and Features of Curriculum for Universities and Colleges

Abstract:Over the past few years, changes have taken place in the curriculum for universities and colleges. Namely, the curriculum has been renewed in content and added in quantity; the curriculum for universities and colleges has drawn the extensive concern of the government, society and citizens and become the major object of evaluation of universities and colleges; the humanistic curriculum and science curriculum have been mutually merged; and the general curriculum has enjoyed great development and changes. However, there still exist such major contradictions between specialized courses and comprehensive courses, between required courses and elective courses, and between academic courses and applied courses. The curriculum for universities and colleges has such features as the comprehensiveness of the practical fields, the pioneering and innovative orientation, and the orientation for discovery and opening up.
