Abstract:The social transformation of China since reform and opening up has provided a unique social laboratory for Chinese researchers of social psychology. In order to describe, understand and interpret the psychological and behavioral logic of the Chinese people, it is imperative to develop social psychology research with social transformation as its object, that is, the psychology of transformation, and thereby transcend the cultural particularity approach and the static society approach. Multiple group membership is the potential core concept of such a psychology.
