Abstract:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(C6H6N4S2)(2)Cl-2].2H(2)O, comprises an octahedral Co-II complex and water of crystallization. Two Cl atoms and two diaminobithiazole (DABT) ligands coordinate to the Co-II atom in a cis configuration. The overlapped arrangement and the short separation of 3.46 (2) Angstrom between parallel DABT rings suggest the existence of pi-pi stacking interactions. A short S...S contact of 3.1822 (17) Angstrom is observed between DABT ligands.

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C9H9N 3O2S2, were obtained from a condensation reaction of S-methyl dithiocarbazate and 3-nitrobenzaldehyde. The planar dithiocarbazate moiety subtends an angle of 10.54 (8)° with respect to the plane of the nitrophenyl ring. Electron delocalization occurs between the imino and dithiocarboxyl groups. The partially overlapped arrangement of parallel benzene rings of neighboring molecules, with a face-to-face distance of 3.343 (8) Å, suggests the existence of π-π stacking. © 2005 International Union of Crystallography Printed in Great Britain - all rights reserved.

Abstract:The crystal structure of the title compound, C6H8N4S22+.-2C(6)H(7)N(4)S(2)(+.)4C(7)H(4)NO(4)(-), comprises diprotonated diaminobithiazole (DABT) dications located on inversion centers, monoprotonated DABT cations and nitrobenzoate anions. The relatively short C - N( amino) bond distances, ranging from 1.310 (2) to 1.350 (2) angstrom, indicate electron delocalization between the amino groups and thiazole rings. Intermolecular N - H (...) O and N - H (...) N hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing.

Abstract:In the title compound, C(8)H(5)NOS(2), the non-H atoms are approximately coplanar [maxium deviation = 0.060 (3) Å]. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the pyridine and 1,3-dithiol-2-one rings is 5.96 (17)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and by an S⋯S close contact [3.510 (5) Å].

Abstract:The title compound, [CoCl2(CH4N2S)2].2C11H6N2O, consists of the tetrahedral cobalt(II) complex and free 4,5-diazafluoren-9-one (dafone). Dafone links to the complex through hydrogen bonding between N atoms. The carbonyl bridge in dafone distorts the bipyridine moiety. The longer N⋯N separations of 3.068 (3) and 3.064 (3) Å in dafone are considered to be the reason for the weaker chelating ability of dafone.

Abstract:The title compound, [CuCl(CH(4)N(2)S)(2)] x 2C(11)H(6)N(2)O x H(2)O, consists of molecules of a Cu(I)-thiourea complex, free 4,5-diazafluoren-9-one (dafone) and crystalline water. The planar complex molecule has trigonal coordination geometry around the Cu(I) atom. The dafone and water molecules, which are hydrogen bonded to the Cu(I) complex, are approximately coplanar with this complex. The crystal displays a sheet structure and pi-pi stacking is observed between neighbouring sheets.

Abstract:The Ni-II atom in the crystal structure of the title compound, [NiCl2(C6H6N4S2)(2)].2H(2)O, has a distorted cis-octahedral coordination, formed by two Cl atoms [Ni-Cl 2.4767 (17) and 2.4922 (17) Angstrom] and four N atoms of two chelate bithiazole ligands [Ni-N 2.069 (5)-2.138 (5) Angstrom]. The overlapped arrangement and short separation between parallel thiazole rings belonging to neighbouring complexes [3.47 (3) Angstrom] suggest the existence of pi-pi stacking interactions. Short intermolecular S...S contacts [3.183 (3) Angstrom] are also observed. The water molecules are involved in hydrogen bonds with the Cl ligands.

Abstract:In the title compound, C(16)H(10)S(2), the S atoms are almost coplanar with the benzene rings to which they are bonded [deviations of 0.092 (1) and 0.022 (1) Å from their respective ring planes]. The benzene rings enclose a dihedral angle of 79.17 (3)°. An intra-molecular C-H⋯S hydrogen bond results in the formation of a five-membered ring. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are stacked parallel to the a axis direction. π-π inter-actions between benzene rings are present, with a face-to-face stacking distance of 3.622 (10) Å.

Abstract:In the title compound, C(16)H(12)N(2)S(4), which is the result of the S-alkylation reaction of 2-mercaptobenzothiazole with ethylene dibromide, the planes of the two benzothiazole moieties form a dihedral angle of 3.84 (14) degrees. The bridging chain moiety, -SCH(2)CH(2)S-, adopts an antiperiplanar conformation. There are intermolecular S.S non-bonded contacts of 3.6471 (9) A, which stabilize the crystal packing.

Abstract:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(18)H(12)N(6)S)], contains one half-mol-ecule situated on a twofold rotation axis which passes through the Co and S atoms. The metal centre is in a distorted octahedral CoCl(2)N(4) coordination with the Cl atoms in the axial positions. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl inter-actions help to establish the packing.
