Prognostic Factors Analysis of the Patients Treated with the Interval Cytoreductive Surgery

Abstract:Objective:To explore the prognostic factors of the patients treated with the interval cytoreductive surgery (ICS), and their values in clinical treatment.Methods:The data was collected from 36 patients treated with ICS on ovarian cancer and primary peritoneal carcinoma.The relationship of the clinicopathologic features, operation, and chemotherapy with the prognosis was retrospectively analyzed.Results: ①Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant correlation between the serum level of CA125 and CP2 before the ICS, the residual disease after the ICS with the PFS(P<0.05); meanwhile between the diameter of tumor focus during the ICS, the residual disease after the ICS with the OS(P=0.049, P=0.001).②Multivariate survival analysis showed that the serum level of CA125 before the ICS, the residual disease after the ICS were independent predictors of PFS(P=0.011, P=0.002), and histological grade was the related factor of PFS.③Multivariate survival analysis showed that the serum level of CP2 before the ICS and the residual disease after the ICS were independent predictors of OS(P=0.021,P= 0.003), and pathological type, systemic chemotherapy after the ICS were all the related factors of OS.Conclusions: ①Patients with the normal serum level of CA125 and CP2 before the ICS, without the residual disease after the ICS, will have the well prognosis.②Sufficient removal of the tumor focus during the ICS and standardly sufficient adjuvant chemotherapy after the ICS can improve the prognosis.
