Abstract:In this paper, we systematically recover the identities for the q-eta numbers ηk and the q-eta polynomials ηk(x), presented by Carlitz [L. Carlitz, q-Bernoulli numbers and polynomials, Duke Math. J. 15 (1948) 987–1000], which we define here via generating series rather than via the difference equations of Carlitz. Following a method developed by Kaneko et al. [M. Kaneko, N. Kurokawa, M. Wakayama, A variation of Euler’s approach to the Riemann zeta function, Kyushu J. Math. 57 (2003) 175–192] for a canonical q-extension of the Riemann zeta function, we investigate a similarly constructed q-extension of the Hurwitz zeta function. The details of this investigation disclose some interesting connections among q-eta polynomials, Carlitz’s q-Bernoulli polynomials βk(x),ϵ-polynomials, and the q-Bernoulli polynomials that emerge from the q-extension of the Hurwitz zeta function discussed here.

Abstract:The main goal of this paper is to study some interesting identities for the multiple twisted ( p , q ) -L-function in a complex field. First, we construct new generating functions of the new Carlitz-type higher order twisted ( p , q ) -Euler numbers and polynomials. By applying the Mellin transformation to these generating functions, we obtain integral representations of the multiple twisted ( p , q ) -Euler zeta function and multiple twisted ( p , q ) -L-function, which interpolate the Carlitz-type higher order twisted ( p , q ) -Euler numbers and Carlitz-type higher order twisted ( p , q ) -Euler polynomials at non-positive integers, respectively. Second, we get some explicit formulas and properties, which are related to Carlitz-type higher order twisted ( p , q ) -Euler numbers and polynomials. Third, we give some new symmetric identities for the multiple twisted ( p , q ) -L-function. Furthermore, we also obtain symmetric identities for Carlitz-type higher order twisted ( p , q ) -Euler numbers and polynomials by using the symmetric property for the multiple twisted ( p , q ) -L-function.

Abstract:The fundamental objective of this paper is to obtain some interesting properties for (h,q)-Genocchi numbers and polynomials by using the fermionic p-adic q-integral on ℤ_p and mentioned in the paper q-Bernstein polynomials. By considering the q-Euler zeta function defined by T. Kim, which can also be obtained by applying the Mellin transformation to the generating function of (h,q)-Genocchi polynomials, we study (h,q)-Zeta-type function. We derive symmetric properties of (h,q)-Zeta function and from these properties we give symmetric property of (h,q)-Genocchi polynomials.

Abstract:After constructions of p-adic q-integrals, in recent years, these integrals with some of their special cases have not only been utilized as integral representations of many special numbers, polynomials, and functions but have also given the chance for deep analysis of many families of special polynomials and numbers, such as Bernoulli, Fubini, Bell, and Changhee polynomials and numbers. One of the main applications of these integrals is to obtain symmetric identities for the special polynomials. In this study, we focus on a novel extension of the degenerate Fubini polynomials and on obtaining some symmetric identities for them. First, we introduce the two-variable degenerate w-torsion Fubini polynomials by means of their exponential generating function. Then, we provide a fermionic p-adic integral representation of these polynomials. By this representation, we derive some new symmetric identities for these polynomials, using some special p-adic integral techniques. Lastly, by using some series manipulation techniques, we obtain more identities of symmetry for the two variable degenerate w-torsion Fubini polynomials.

Abstract:In this paper, we focus on the q-Genocchi numbers and polynomials. We shall introduce new identities of the q-Genocchi numbers and polynomials by using the fermionic p-adic integral on Zp which are very important in the study of Frobenius-Genocchi numbers and polynomials. Also, we give Cauchy-integral formula for the q-Genocchi polynomials and moreover by using measure theory on p-adic integral we derive the distribution formula q-Genocchi polynomials. Finally, we present a new definition of q-Zeta-type function by using Mellin transformation which is the interpolation function of the q-Genocchi polynomials at negative integers.
V1647 Ori: The X-ray Evolution of a Pre-main Sequence Accretion Burst

Abstract:We present Chandra X-ray Observatory monitoring observations of the recent accretion outburst displayed by the pre-main sequence (pre-MS) star V1647 Ori. The X-ray observations were obtained over a period beginning prior to outburst onset in late 2003 and continuing through its apparent cessation in late 2005, and demonstrate that the mean flux of the spatially coincident X-ray source closely tracked the near-infrared luminosity of V1647 Ori throughout its eruption. We find negligible likelihood that the correspondence between X-ray and infrared light curves over this period was the result of multiple X-ray flares unrelated to the accretion burst. The recent Chandra data confirm that the X-ray spectrum of V1647 Ori hardened during outburst, relative both to its pre-outburst state and to the X-ray spectra of nearby pre-MS stars in the L1630 cloud. We conclude that the observed changes in the X-ray emission from V1647 Ori over the course of its 2003-2005 eruption were generated by a sudden increase and subsequent decline in its accretion rate. These results for V1647 Ori indicate that the flux of hard X-ray emission from erupting low-mass, pre-MS stars, and the duration and intensity of such eruptions, reflect the degree to which star-disk magnetic fields are reorganized before and during major accretion events.

We also prove that $(-q;q)_n=\prod_{0<k\le n}(1+q^k)$ divides $S_{2n}(q)$ and the numerator of $C_{2n}(q)$; this extends Carlitz's result that $2^n$ divides the Sali\'e number $S_{2n}$ and the numerator of the Carlitz number $C_{2n}$. Our result on q-Sali\'e numbers implies a conjecture of Guo and Zeng.
