Abstract:In this paper we investigate some methods on calculating the spaces of generalized semi-invariant distributions on p-adic spaces. Using homological methods, we give a criterion of automatic extension of (generalized) semi-invariant distributions. Based on the meromorphic continuations of Igusa zeta integrals, we give another criteria with purely algebraic geometric conditions, on the extension of generalized semi-invariant distributions.

Abstract:In this note we define anticyclotomic p-adic measures attached to a finite set of places S above p, a modular elliptic curve E over a general number field F and a quadratic extension K/F. We study the exceptional zero phenomenon that arises when E has multiplicative reduction at some place in S. In this direction, we obtain p-adic Gross-Zagier formulas relating derivatives of the corresponding p-adic L-functions to the extended Mordell-Weil group of E. Our main result uses the recent construction of plectic points on elliptic curves due to Fornea and Gehrmann and generalizes their main result. We obtain a formula that computes the r-th derivative of the p-adic L-function, where r is the number of places in S where E has multiplicative reduction, in terms of plectic points and Tate periods of E.

These results are extensions of the p-adic analogues of results given by Wüstholz in the complex domain [see A. Baker and G. Wüstholz, Logarithmic Forms and Diophantine Geometry, New Mathematical Monographs, 9 (Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 2007), Theorem 6.3] and also generalise a result of Bertrand to higher dimensions ['Sous-groupes à un paramètre p-adique de variétés de groupe', Invent. Abstract:This article discusses variants of Weber's class number problem in the spirit of arithmetic topology to connect the results of Sinnott--Kisilevsky and Kionke. Let $p$ be a prime number. We first prove the $p$-adic convergence of class numbers in a $\mathbb{Z}_p$-extension of a global field and a similar result in a $\mathbb{Z}_p$-cover of a compact 3-manifold. Secondly, we establish an explicit formula for the $p$-adic limit of the $p$-power-th cyclic resultants of a polynomial using roots of unity of orders prime to $p$, the $p$-adic logarithm, and the Iwasawa invariants. Finally, we give thorough investigations of torus knots, twist knots, and elliptic curves; we complete the list of the cases with $p$-adic limits being in $\mathbb{Z}$ and find the cases such that the base $p$-class numbers are small and $\nu$'s are arbitrarily large.

Integral representations of Catalan numbers using Touchard-like identities

Abstract:In this article, we use the Touchard identity in order to obtain new integral representations for Catalan numbers. The main idea consists in combining the identity with a known integral representation and resorting to the binomial theorem. The same procedure is applied to a variant of the Touchard identity proposed by Callan a few years ago. The method presented here can be generalized to derive additional integral representations from known ones, provided that the latter have a well-suited form and lend themselves to an analytical summation under the integral sign.

Abstract:We show that the p -adic Siegel–Eisenstein series of general degree attached to two kind of number sequences are both linear combinations of genus theta series of level dividing p , by applying the theory of mod p -power singular forms. As special cases of this result, we derive the results of Nagaoka and Katsurada–Nagaoka.

On the $p$-adic limit of class numbers along a pro-$p$-extension

Abstract:Let $K/k$ be a pro-$p$-extension over a number field $k$ whose Galois group is finitely generated and $k_0\subseteq k_1\subseteq\cdots\subseteq k_n\subseteq\cdots$ an ascending sequence of intermediate fields of $K/k$ such that $k_n/k$ is normal, $[k_n:k]<\infty$ and $\bigcup_{n\ge 0} k_n=K$. We will show by using representation theory of finite groups that the non-$p$-part $h_n(p')$ of the class number of $k_n$ converges $p$-adically as $n\rightarrow\infty$, and the limit is independent to the choice of $k_n$'s. Also, in the case where $K/k$ is the cyclotomic $\mathbb{Z}_p$-extension over an abelian number field $k$, we will take an analytic approach and obtain certain enigmatic relationships between the $p$-adic limits of vaious arithmetic invariants along $K/k$, namely, the class number, the ratio of $p$-adic regulator and the square root of the discriminant, and the order of the algebraic $K_2$-group of the ring of integers.

Genus theory of p-adic pseudo-measures -- Tame kernels and abelian p-ramification

Abstract:We consider, for real abelian fields K, the Birch--Tate formula linking the tame kernel \#K\_2(Z\_K) to $\zeta$\_K(-1); we compare, for quadratic and cyclic cubic fields with p=2,3, \#K\_2(\BZ\_K)[p^$\infty$] to the order of the torsion group T\_{K, p} of abelian p-ramification theory given by the residue of $\zeta$\_{K, p}(s) at s=1. This is done via the ``genus theory'' of p-adic pseudo-measures, inaugurated in the 1970/80's and the fact that T\_{K, p} only depends on the p-class group and on the normalized p-adic regulator of K (Theorem A). We apply this to prove a conjecture of Deng--Li giving the structures of K\_2(Z\_K)[2^$\infty$] for an interesting family of real quadratic fields (Theorem B). Then, for p>3, we give a lower bound of the p-rank of K\_2(\BZ\_K) in cyclic p-extensions (Theorem C). Complements, PARI programs and tables are given in an Appendix.
