Abstract:This article demonstrates a straightforward and highly effective surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor employing aluminum nitride (AIN) and two-dimensional (2D) material for dengue virus detection. The straightforward sensor has a five-layered structure, and the layers are a BK7 glass, silver (Ag), AIN, 2D material (black phosphorus (BP)/graphene), and sensing medium (SM). This SM interacts with three dengue blood cells, named as hemoglobin, plasma and platelets. Using the transfer matrix method and a wavelength of 633 nm along with angular interrogation technique, the efficiency and resolution of the sensor are estimated. Firstly, the thickness of Ag, AIN, and BP is demonstrated by observing the improved minimum reflectance and sensitivity performances. In addition, the influence of AIN and 2D materials in the proposed sensor is demonstrated by plotting the reflectance curves and measuring the SPR parameters for detecting dengue-infected blood samples in structures with defined layers. The maximum sensor performance parameters are obtained for detecting infected hemoglobin, as, sensitivity of 310.29 , quality factor of 177.31 , a detection accuracy of 6.21, a figure of merit of 176.88, and a combined sensitivity factor of 175.78. Finally, the electric field enhancement factor is presented, followed by a comparative performance analysis.
