Abstract:In this paper, we study the sharp constants of quantitative Hardy and Rellich inequalities on nonreversible Finsler manifolds equipped with arbitrary measures. In particular, these inequalities can be globally refined by adding remainder terms like the Brezis–Vázquez improvement, if Finsler manifolds are of strictly negative flag curvature, vanishing S-curvature and finite uniformity constant. Furthermore, these results remain valid when Finsler metrics are reversible.

Abstract:We consider conic inequality systems of the type$F(x)\ge_K 0$, with approximate solution $x_0$ associated to a parameter $\tau$,where $F$ is a twice Fréchet differentiable function between Hilbert spaces $X$ and $Y$, and$\ge_K$ is the partial order in $Y$ defined by anonempty convex (not necessarily closed) cone $K\subseteq Y$.We prove that, under the suitable conditions,the system $F(x)\ge_K 0$is solvable, and the ratio of the distance from $x_0$ to the solution set $S$ over the distance from $F(x_0)$ to the cone $K$ has anupper bound given explicitlyin terms of $\tau$ and $x_0$. We show that the upper bound is sharp.Applications to analytic function inequality/equality systems on Euclidean spaces are given,and the corresponding results of Dedieu [ SIAM J. Optim. , 11 (2000), pp. 411--425] are extended and significantly improved.

Abstract:Let $\left( p,q\right) \mapsto \beta \left( p,q\right) $ be a function defined on $\mathbb{R}^{2}$. We determine the best or better $p,q$ such that the inequality% \begin{equation*} \left( \frac{\sin x}{x}\right) ^{p}<\left( >\right) 1-\beta \left( p,q\right) +\beta \left( p,q\right) \cos ^{q}x \end{equation*}% holds for $x\in \left( 0,\pi /2\right) $, and obtain a lot of new and sharp Cusa type inequalities for trigonometric functions. As applications, some new Shafer-Fink type and Carlson type inequalities for arc sine and arc cosine functions, and new inequalities for trigonometric means are established.

Abstract:In this paper, we review some recent works on sharp fractional inequalities on nilpotent Lie groups, studying their sharp constants, extremizers, stability and other improvements. We also prove a new sharp subcritical inequality in Section sub . The conformal symmetry, compactness, spectral estimates and flow methods are discussed. We remark that a positivity-type restriction on the singular exponent is required in cases for groups with high dimensional centres, which brings extra difficulty.

Abstract:Sharp restriction theory and the finite field extension problem have both received a great deal of attention in the last two decades, but so far they have not intersected. In this paper, we initiate the study of sharp restriction theory on finite fields. We prove that constant functions maximize the Fourier extension inequality from the parabola $\mathbb{P}^1\subset \mathbb{F}^{2\ast}_q$ and the paraboloid $\mathbb{P}^2\subset \mathbb{F}_q^{3\ast}$ at the euclidean Stein-Tomas endpoint; here, $\mathbb{F}_q^{d\ast}$ denotes the (dual) $d$-dimensional vector space over the finite field $\mathbb F_q$ with $q=p^n$ elements, where $p$ is a prime number greater than $3$ or $2$, respectively. We fully characterize the maximizers for the $L^2\to L^4$ extension inequality from $\mathbb{P}^2$ whenever $q\equiv 1(\text{mod}\, 4)$. Our methods lead to analogous results on the hyperbolic paraboloid, whose corresponding euclidean problem remains open. We further establish that constants maximize the $L^2\to L^4$ extension inequality from the cone $\Gamma^3:=\{(\boldsymbol{\xi},\tau, \sigma)\in \mathbb{F}^{4\ast}_q: \tau\sigma=\boldsymbol{\xi}^2\}\setminus \{{\bf 0}\}$ whenever $q\equiv 3(\text{mod}\, 4)$. By contrast, we prove that constant functions fail to be critical points for the corresponding inequality on $\Gamma^3\cup \{{\bf 0}\}$ over $\mathbb{F}_p^4$. While some inspiration is drawn from the euclidean setting, entirely new phenomena emerge which are related to the underlying arithmetic and discrete structures.

Abstract:In this paper, we will establish sharp inequalities of the lemniscate sine function and the so-called weighted (p,q)-exponential type function, of which the latter is an extension of the weighted H?lder mean. These results provide a systematic method for the previous obtained inequalities and give great improvements for bounds of the lemniscate sine function. As applications, several high accuracy approximations for the lemniscate sine function are also derived.

Abstract:There is a well known inequality for harmonic functions in unit disc by Carleman: $\int_{B_{2}}e^{2u}dx\leq\frac{1}{4\pi}(\int_{\partial B_{2}}e^{u}d\theta)^{2},$ for all harmonic functions in $B_{2}$. We generalize this inequality to the case of fractional harmonic extension operator $\widetilde{P}_{a}$, which says that for any $f\in L^{\frac{2(n-1)}{n-2+a}}(\partial B_{n}),$ $n\geq 2$ and $n-2+a\neq 0$, we have the sharp inequality $\|\widetilde{P}_{a}f\|_{L^{\frac{2n}{n-2+a}}(B_{n})}\leq S_{n,a}\|f\|_{L^{\frac{2(n-1)}{n-2+a}}(\partial B_{n})}.$ By studying the endpoint information we get an interesting inequality $\|e^{\widetilde{P}_{2-n}F}\|_{L^{n}( B_{n})}\leq S_{n} \|e^{F}\|_{L^{n-1}(\partial B_{n})},$ for any $F$ such that $e^{F}\in L^{n-1}(\partial B_{n})$, $n\geq 2.$ When $n=2$, Carleman's inequality is recovered.

Abstract: In this paper we consider a generalized version of Carleman's inequality. An equivalent version of it states that $\|f\|_{A_\alpha^{2\alpha}}\leq\|f\|_{H^2}$, where $f$ is a holomorphic function and $\alpha>1$. If the norms $\|f\|_{A_\alpha^{2\alpha}}$ are decreasing in $\alpha$, then the inequality holds for $f$. For a dense set of functions, we calculate the derivative of the norms $\|f\|_{A_\alpha^{2\alpha}}$ in $\alpha$ and give sufficient conditions for this derivative to be non-positive. As an application, we prove the inequality for linear combinations of two reproducing kernels. Some numerical evidences are also provided.

Abstract:The objective of this paper is two-fold. First, we establish new sharp quantitative estimates for Faber-Krahn inequalities on simply connected space forms. We prove that the gap between the first eigenvalue of a given set $\Omega$ and that of the ball quantitatively controls both the $L^1$ distance of this set from a ball {\it and} the $L^2$ distance between the corresponding eigenfunctions: \[ \lambda_1(\Omega) - \lambda_1(B) \gtrsim |\Omega \Delta B|^2 + \int |u_{\Omega} - u_B|^2, \] where $B$ denotes the nearest geodesic ball to $\Omega$ with $|B|=|\Omega|$ and $u_\Omega$ denotes the first eigenfunction with suitable normalization. On Euclidean space, this extends a result of Brasco-De Phillipis-Velichkov; the eigenfunction control largely builds upon new regularity results for minimizers of critically perturbed Alt-Cafarelli type functionals in our companion paper. On the round sphere and hyperbolic space, the present results are the first sharp quantitative results with respect to any distance; here the local portion of the analysis is based on new implicit spectral analysis techniques. Second, we apply these sharp quantitative Faber-Krahn inequalities in order to establish a quantitative form of the Alt-Caffarelli-Friedman (ACF) monotonicity formula. We show that the energy drop in the ACF monotonicity formula from one scale to the next controls how close a pair of admissible functions is from a pair of complementary half-plane solutions. In particular, when the square root of the energy drop summed over all scales is small, our result implies the existence of tangents (unique blowups) of these functions.
