Abstract:Objective To investigate the value of fetal intelligent navigation echocardiography (FINE,5D Heart)in displaying the normal fetal heart structure during 20 to 38 weeks'gestation.Methods Three-dimensional data of fetal heart during 20 to 38 weeks'gestation were acquired using volume transducer prospectively.The STIC volume images were post-processed with 5D heart software by three physicians with different levels of echocardiographic examination and the quality of the section images were analyzed.The intra-and interobserver repeatability was analyzed for the qualification of section images.The correlation between the quality of image and gestational age,body mass index,the placenta position,fetal initial plane position were evaluated using univariate and multivariable logistic regression analysis.Results Two hundreds and five cases of pregnant women were included,and 9 cases were excluded.Volume data acquisition was completed in 180 pregnant women,and the image acquisition rate was 91.8%.The data were assessed twice by three observers and qualified 9 section images were gotten in 156-180 cases(degree of qualification 86.7%-100%).The screening images were satisfied in 152 cases(84.4%),dissatisfied with 28 cases(15.6%).The intra-observer agreement by three observers was absolute concord in four chamber view and abdomen、stomach view;excellent in three vessel trachea view(3VT),five chamber view, left ventricular outflow tract view and superior and inferior vena cava view;good in right ventricular outflow tract view,ductal arch view and aortic arch view.The inter-observer agreement by each of three observers was absolute concord in four chamber view and abdomen、stomach view;excellent in superior and inferior vena cava view;excellent to good in five chamber view,left ventricular outflow tract view,right ventricular outflow tract view;good in 3VT,ductal arch view and aortic arch view.In a univariate analysis,the quality of the image was associated with obesity(χ2=15.338,P =0.000),gestational age(χ2=23.356,P =0.000).Multivariable analysis showed that the obesity(OR=5.587,P =0.001)and gestational age (OR=8.843,P=0.000)were factors affecting the quality of the image.The average time spent in post-processing the images for first time by three observers was(2.77±1.39)min,and there was no significant difference among observers(P > 0.05).Conclusions Fetal intelligent navigation echocardiography (FINE,5D Heart)based on STIC volumes can successfully generate 9 standard fetal echocardiography views in 86.7%-100% of fetuses in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters.This method can simplify examination of the fetal heart and reduce operator dependency.

Abstract:In the past few decades, great progress has been made in prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease (CHD). Fetal echocardiography is recognized as the main prenatal screening and diagnostic tool that can accurately detect approximately 85 % of fetal cardiac abnormalities. Evaluation of the fetal heart remains a major challenge in prenatal ultrasound screening and diagnosis due to fetal position, involuntary movement, small and complex fetal cardiac anatomy, maternal abdominal wall conditions, and lack of expertise in fetal echocardiography by some physicians engaged in obstetric ultrasound. Artificial intelligence (AI) can automate and standardize the display of each diagnostic section of the fetal heart and thus contribute to accurate diagnosis, which significantly optimizes the clinical application of fetal echocardiography. In this review, we not only clarify the role of AI but also highlight its significance and future solutions in the field of fetal echocardiography.

Abstract:Background: The ultrasound scan represents the first tool that obstetricians use in fetal evaluation, but sometimes, it can be limited by mobility or fetal position, excessive thickness of the maternal abdominal wall, or the presence of post-surgical scars on the maternal abdominal wall. Artificial intelligence (AI) has already been effectively used to measure biometric parameters, automatically recognize standard planes of fetal ultrasound evaluation, and for disease diagnosis, which helps conventional imaging methods. The usage of information, ultrasound scan images, and a machine learning program create an algorithm capable of assisting healthcare providers by reducing the workload, reducing the duration of the examination, and increasing the correct diagnosis capability. The recent remarkable expansion in the use of electronic medical records and diagnostic imaging coincides with the enormous success of machine learning algorithms in image identification tasks. Objectives: We aim to review the most relevant studies based on deep learning in ultrasound anomaly scan evaluation of the most complex fetal systems (heart and brain), which enclose the most frequent anomalies.

Abstract:Congenital heart disease (CHD) is a severe health risk for newborns. Early detection of abnormalities in fetal cardiac structure and function during pregnancy can help patients seek timely diagnostic and therapeutic advice, and early intervention planning can significantly improve fetal survival rates. Echocardiography is one of the most accessible and widely used diagnostic tools in the diagnosis of fetal CHD. However, traditional fetal echocardiography has limitations due to fetal, maternal, and ultrasound equipment factors, and is highly dependent on the skill level of the operator. AI technology, with its rapid development utilizing advanced computer algorithms, has great potential to empower sonographers in time-saving and accurate diagnosis and to bridge the skill gap in different regions. In recent years, AI-assisted fetal echocardiography has been successfully applied to a wide range of ultrasound diagnoses. This review systematically reviews the applications of AI in the field of fetal echocardiography over the years in terms of image processing, biometrics, and disease diagnosis, and provides an outlook for future research. Abstract:The detailed sonographic assessment of the fetal neuroanatomy plays a crucial role in prenatal diagnosis, providing valuable insights into timely, well-coordinated fetal brain development and detecting even subtle anomalies that may impact neurodevelopmental outcomes. With recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) in general and medical imaging in particular, there has been growing interest in leveraging AI techniques to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and clinical utility of fetal neurosonography. The paramount objective of this focusing review is to discuss the latest developments in AI applications in this field, focusing on image analysis, the automation of measurements, prediction models of neurodevelopmental outcomes, visualization techniques, and their integration into clinical routine.
