Abstract:PURPOSE: This study aimed to investigate the effect of upper eyelid blepharoplasty with the removal of the skin and a strip of orbicularis oculi muscle on the ocular surface, tear film, and dry eye-related symptoms.METHODS: Twenty-two eyes of 22 consecutive patients operated by a single surgeon (21 females; mean age, 61 years; age range, 41-75 years) were included. All subjects completed the Ocular Surface Disease Index questionnaire, underwent in vivo confocal microscopy, tear film breakup time measurements, the Schirmer test with anesthesia, and fluorescein and lissamine green staining measurements before, 1 month, and 6 months after upper blepharoplasty alone with preseptal orbicularis excision.RESULTS: A significant increase in Ocular Surface Disease Index, and corneal fluorescein and lissamine green staining and a significant decrease in tear film breakup time were observed after 1 month (p=0.003, p=0.004, p=0.029, and p=0.024 respectively) and 6 months (p=0.001 for all findings). No significant difference in the Schirmer test score was observed during the follow-up. None of the in vivo confocal microscopy parameters showed significant changes during the study.CONCLUSIONS: An increase in dry eye symptoms and a decrease in tear film stability along with ocular surface staining were observed in patients undergoing upper eyelid blepharoplasty.

Abstract:Blepharoplasty is an important eyelid surgical procedure, involving aesthetic and functional changes to the eyelids. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of upper eyelid blepharoplasty on changes in the visual field, corneal changes, and cosmetic appearance. This study was performed with preoperative and postoperative facial photographs of 32 patients who underwent bilateral blepharoplasty. Marginal reflex distance (MRD 1 ), percentage of corneal exposure area (CEA), and brow height (BH) were obtained from photographs. intraocular pressure (IOP) and ocular biometric parameters were also obtained. The morphometric and ocular parameters obtained from preoperative, postoperative first-month, and postoperative third-month patients were compared using repeated measures ANOVA test. Significant differences in MRD 1 , CEA, and BH were observed between preoperative, postoperative first-month, and postoperative third-month patients. Improvements were observed in left axis and right corneal astigmatism axis measurements in the postoperative third month compared with preoperative measurements, and the positive change was statistically significant ( P =0.020, P =0.036). Upper eyelid blepharoplasty could provide satisfactory functional and aesthetic outcomes by contributing to the improvement of pseudoptosis and reduction in eyebrow height postoperatively.

Abstract:Upper blepharoplasty is the most popular procedures in China and East and Southeast Asia. A variety of technical methods are used because the mechanism of the formation of double eyelid in the Asians is still controversial. Sayoc's theory that double eyelid is formed by the fusion of fibers from the levator aponeurosis and the pretarsal skin gains a majority support, but has never been proved in Asian eyelid. We carried on an anatomic study about the inferior part of the upper eyelid using both electron microscope and light microscope, and found direct evidence of the existence of this connection, which confirmed Sayoc's theory. This anatomic structure and motor system is then confirmed in clinical attempting of reapproximating them in upper blepharoplasty in thousands of Chinese patients by perfect satisfied results in terms of zero postoperative blepharoptosis rate, naturally looked appearance, and significantly shortened recovery time.

Abstract:The objective of this study was to prospectively investigate the effect of upper eyelid blepharoplasty surgery for dermatochalasis on corneal topographic data and high-order aberrations (HOAs). Fifty eyelids of 50 patients with dermatochalasis who underwent upper lid blepharoplasty surgery were prospectively studied. A Pentacam (Scheimpflug camera, Oculus) device was used to measure corneal topographic values, astigmatism degree, and HOAs before and at 2 months after upper eyelid blepharoplasty. The mean age of the patients included in the study was 55.96 ± 12.4 years, 40 (80%) were female and 10 (20%) were male. We found no statistically significant difference in the pre-and postoperative values of corneal topographic parameters ( p > 0.05 for all). In addition, we observed no significant postoperative change in the root mean square values of low, high, and total aberration values. In HOAs, we detected no significant change in spherical aberration, horizontal and vertical coma, and vertical trefoil; we only found a statistically significant increase in horizontal trefoil values after surgery ( p < 0.05). In our study, we found that upper eyelid blepharoplasty did not cause significant changes in corneal topography, astigmatism, and ocular HOAs. However, studies are reporting different results in the literature. For this reason, it is important for patients considering upper eyelid surgery to be warned about visual changes that may occur after surgery. Abstract:Objectives We studied the difference in the corneal biomechanical parameters of ptotic and fellow eyes in patients with congenital blepharoptosis. The correlations between corneal biomechanical parameters and demographic or ocular parameters, and the changes after surgery were also researched. Methods The corneal biomechanical parameters were measured by Corvis ST tonometry. The central corneal thickness (CCT), axial length (AL) and keratometry measurements were performed with LenStar LS900, and intraocular pressure (IOP) by non-contact applanation tonometry. The parameters were evaluated for the effect of ptosis and the relationship of corneal biomechanical parameters. These examinations were repeated 6 months after blepharoptosis surgery. Results Twenty-nine patients were enroled. The Corvis ST parameters (Deformation amplitude [DA], A1 times, and A1 velocity), CCT, IOP with NCT, IOP with corrected, differed significantly between ptotic and fellow eyes. CCT was significantly positively correlated with Length A1 and IOP with Corvis, and negatively correlated with IOP corrected by Corvis of the ptotic eyes. The same tendency was found in the fellow eyes. Six months after the ptosis surgery, the differences in corneal biomechanics parameters between ptotic eyes and fellow eyes were not significantly changed. Conclusions Congenital blepharoptosis causes significant corneal biomechanical changes measured by Corvis ST. The ptotic eyes had thicker and less deformable corneas. The differences in corneal biomechanics between ptotic eyes and fellow eyes were mostly related to CCT changes. Six months after surgery, these differences in corneal biomechanics did not change significantly.
Prospective analysis of visual function changes in patients with dermatochalasis after upper eyelid blepharoplasty

Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the changes of visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, astigmatism, and higher order aberrations after blepharoplasty in patients with dermatochalasis. Methods: Two hundred six eyelids of 103 patients with dermatochalasis were prospectively studied. Visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, corneal topography, astigmatism degree, and higher order aberrations were examined and recorded before and at 1 month after upper eyelid blepharoplasty. Change in contrast sensitivity and astigmatism values were determined according to margin reflex distance of patients, which were classified into three following groups: <2 mm, 2–3 mm, and ⩾ 4 mm. A Wilcoxon signed rank test was performed to compare the difference. Results: No significant differences were observed for visual acuity (p = 0.157). The contrast sensitivity of patients significantly increased at all spatial frequencies both under glare and nonglare conditions (p < 0.05). The mean refractive astigmatism significantly decreased from ‒1.01 ± 1.3 to ‒0.79 ± 0.71, postoperatively (p = 0.029). In patients with marginal reflex distance < 2 mm, mean contrast sensitivity was increased (p < 0.001) and mean astigmatism was decreased significantly (p < 0.001) compared with those with ⩾ 2 mm. Higher order aberrations decreased significantly from 0.62 ± 0.41 μm to 0.55 ± 0.38 μm (p = 0.038) after blepharoplasty. Root mean square of the vertical trefoil (p = 0.038), vertical coma (p = 0.002), horizontal trefoil (p = 0.027), third-order aberration (p = 0.005), secondary vertical stigmatism (p = 0.001), spherical aberration (p = 0.023), secondary horizontal astigmatism (p = 0.002), fourth-order aberration (p = 0.024), vertical pentafoil (p = 0.015), secondary horizontal coma (p = 0.035), secondary horizontal trefoil (p = 0.030), and horizontal pentafoil (p = 0.048) were decreased significantly. Conclusion: Upper eyelid blepharoplasty in patients with dermatochalasis has a significant improvement in visual function in terms of contrast sensitivity, astigmatism, and higher order aberrations.

Dynamic Changes of Tear Fluid after Cosmetic Transcutaneous Lower Blepharoplasty Measured by Optical Coherence Tomography.

Abstract:PURPOSE: To investigate the dynamic changes of tear fluid after cosmetic transcutaneous lower blepharoplasty.DESIGN: Prospective, observational case series study.METHODS: A total of 60 eyes of 30 patients with transcutaneous lower blepharoplasty were involved in the study. All subjects completed the Ocular Surface Disease Index questionnaire and underwent tear film break-up time measurements and the Schirmer test before surgery and 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months after surgery. Tear meniscus parameters measured by optical coherence tomography were recorded. Lower lid margin reflex distance was also measured. At each time point after surgery, these parameters were compared with the baseline parameters. The incidence of dry eye and chemosis after surgery was assessed.RESULTS: The Ocular Surface Disease Index score increased significantly 1 week after surgery (P < .01). The Schirmer test values were significantly decreased 1 week postoperatively (P < .01), and they returned to baseline by 3 months. There was no significant change in tear film break-up time before and after surgery. The tear meniscus height, depth, and cross section area values were significantly increased at 1 week postoperatively, decreased at 1 month (P < .01), and returned to baseline at 3 months (P > .05). The cornea-lower eyelid angle significantly decreased at 1 week postoperatively (P < .01), increased at 1 month (P < .01), and returned to baseline by 3 months (P > .05). The lower lid margin reflex distance was increased 1 week after surgery (P < .01), and gradually recovered but had not returned to the baseline 3 months after surgery (P < .01). The increased tear meniscus height had a positive correlation with lower lid margin reflex distance. The incidence of dry eye and chemosis at 1 week postoperatively was 16.7% and 15%, respectively.CONCLUSIONS: Cosmetic transcutaneous lower blepharoplasty affects ocular surface and tear fluid, which leads to dryness, tearful eyes, and chemosis. However, this influence is temporary after surgery, and the symptoms resolve within 3 months. A positive correlation between tear meniscus height and lower lid margin reflex distance was observed. Assessment of the tear meniscus with optical coherence tomography provided a quick, noninvasive, and quantitative method to investigate the dynamic changes of the tear fluid after blepharoplasty. Abstract:Purpose: To evaluate the corneal topography and aberrometry and their changes following ptosis surgery in patients suffering from unilateral congenital blepharoptosis. Methods: The study included 15 eyes of 15 patients with unilateral congenital blepharoptosis who underwent surgical correction through anterior levator resection. Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor was employed to assess Zernike coefficients and root-mean-square. Computerized corneal topography, Orbscan and aberrometry were measured pre-and 3 months post-surgery in the healthy and ptotic eyes. Aberrometric changes were compared between patients with more than one diopter of astigmatism and subjects with less amount of astigmatism. Data were analyzed using the SPSS version 16. P < 0.05 was considered as significance level. Results: Following anterior levator resection, the amount of astigmatism decreased. However, the difference was not statistically significant. Changes in topographic indices were not statistically significant. Regarding tomographic indices, the change in minimum keratometry was significant. The amount of change in total higher-order aberrations (HOAs) was not statistically significant. However, there was a decrease in the amount of third-order aberrations (vertical coma and vertical trefoil) which was statistically significant for vertical coma (-0.002 ± 0.001 vs. -0.08 ± 0.02 µm, P = 0.02). Comparing aberrometric changes in patients with more than 1 diopter astigmatism and less, there was a significant difference in the amount of HOA w/o Z400. Conclusion: Surgical correction of ptosis could reduce the ocular aberrations, despite no significant change in astigmatism. Nonaxial high-order aberrations are mostly affected probably due to the meridional effect of ptosis on the cornea.

Abstract:Eyelid surgery is widely and extensively used in facial plastic and reconstructive surgeries. There are many categories of eyelid surgeries, the most common of which include blepharoplasty, ptosis surgery, and eyelid reconstruction. In many cases, these procedures are combined, and there are many different techniques for each type of operation. Upper eyelid blepharoplasty usually includes the excision of skin, preseptal orbicularis oculi muscle, and orbital fat. Common methods of lower eyelid blepharoplasty are the skin-muscle flap, the skin flap, and the transconjunctival. Ptosis surgery is mainly divided into three types: transcutaneous, transconjunctival, and sling surgery. Surgeons often used the Hughes or Cutler-Beard Bridge Flaps in eyelid reconstruction. Different types and methods of surgery have their own advantages and disadvantages, and postoperative complications may occur. Therefore, postoperative complications of eyelid surgeries, such as dry eye symptoms, should be taken into serious consideration. Relevant literature involving these complaints can be found in PubMed by searching the terms “dry eye”, “eyelid”, “surgery”, and other related keywords. Moreover, various ocular surface and tear film alterations may be detected using the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI), tear film breakup time, Schirmer test, fluorescein staining, and lissamine green staining after various eyelid surgeries. As dry eye disease is prevalent in the general population, it is more urgent to figure out what we can learn from these complaints. Further exploration in this field may help surgeons to choose a better surgical method and give an accurate evaluation of the postoperative effect.
Effect of Biometric and Surgical Parameters on Tear Meniscus Height after Phacoemulsification

Abstract:Objective To evaluate tear meniscus height(TMH) changes after phacoemulsification with anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT),and to discuss the effect of biometric and surgical parameters on tear meniscus height changes.Methods This clinical trial involved 45 patients with age-related cataract(50 eyes) who underwent phacoemulsification.Age,nuclear density,cumulative dissipated energy(CDE),phacotime and TMH were measured preoperatively and 1 month postoperatively.Results The preoperative average of TMH was(0.286±0.059)mm,which were significant differences from one month after operation(0.217 ± 0.026) mm(P0.001).There were positive relationships between the age,nuclear density,phacotime,CDE,axial length and TMH decrease(P0.001,respectively).Conclusion After phacoemulsification,a mild decrease of TMH could be observed.TMH decrease involves in many factors.AS-OCT can be taken as an objective clinical imaging method for the diagnosis of dry eye after phacoemulsification.
Effects in the upper face of far east Asians after Oriental blepharoplasty: a scientific perspective on why Oriental blepharoplasty is essential

Abstract:Background: Oriental blepharoplasty is the most frequently performed aesthetic surgery among far east Asians (i.e., Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Taiwanese). Numerous studies on oriental blepharoplasty have been published, but only a few, if any, have reported on the measurable effects of such surgeries on the upper face. To scientifically evaluate the changes in the upper face of young Korean adults after oriental blepharoplasty, a periocular morphometry study was conducted. Methods: A retrospective image analysis was used to identify the changes in the upper face after oriental blepharoplasty. Preoperative and postoperative digital facial images of 612 patients (598 women and 14 men) who underwent oriental blepharoplasty were examined. The height of the palpebral fissure (HPF), the distance between the highest point of the palpebral fissure of the upper eyelid and the eyebrow (DEE), and the distance between the eyebrow and the hairline (DEH) were measured to analyze the effects of oriental blepharoplasty in the upper face. Results: After oriental blepharoplasty, the HPF and DEH increased in length by 11.8 and 4.9 %, respectively, and the DEE decreased in length by 14.0 %. Patients who originally did not possess double eyelids showed greater changes than those who originally did possess such eyelids. Such changes were characterized by a significant inverse correlation between the DEE and DEH. In addition, when postoperative changes were measured before and after 6 months, the palpebral fissure and forehead showed an even greater increase. Conclusions: Oriental blepharoplasty can induce substantial changes in the proportions of the upper face. It can not only increase the size of the eyes, but also induce changes in eyebrow position resulting in a more refreshed appearance.
Effects of Tear Film Lipid Layer Thickness and Blinking Pattern on Tear Film Instability After Corneal Refractive Surgery

Abstract:Purpose: To investigate associations between changes in tear film instability and the lipid layer thickness (LLT) and blink pattern after corneal refractive surgery (CRS). Methods: Forty patients were enrolled in this study. The LLT and blink pattern were evaluated 1 week before and 30 days after CRS using a novel interferometer and an ocular surface disease index (OSDI) questionnaire, and other tear film stability markers were also evaluated. Results: Mean OSDI scores increased from 5.52 to 8.54 (P = 0.016), corneal fluorescence staining scores increased from 0.05 to 0.25 (P = 0.034), first noninvasive tear breakup time (NIBUT-F) decreased from 9.66 to 7.33 seconds (P = 0.014), and average noninvasive tear breakup time (NIBUT-Ave) decreased from 12.32 to 10.26 seconds (P = 0.047) 1 month after CRS. Meanwhile, mean total blink frequency in 20 seconds decreased significantly from 12.62 to 6.31 (P < 0.001); LLT did not change significantly (P = 0.447). The change in NIBUT-Ave was positively correlated with that in LLT (P = 0.003) and negatively correlated with that in the partial blink rate (P = 0.013). The changes in the OSDI questionnaire, NIBUT, LLT, and blink pattern were not different between the laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis and laser-assisted subepithelial keratomileusis groups. Conclusions: A decrease in tear film stability occurs 1 month after CRS, the change in the blink pattern and unchanged LLT preoperatively and postoperatively suggesting that these parameters play a role in maintaining tear film stability after CRS.
Effects of eyelid pressure on corneal tomography and biomechanics: Quantitative analysis using a novel blepharo-tensiometer

Abstract:Purpose: This study aimed to validate a blepharo-tensiometer, and investigate the relationship between eyelid pressure (ELP) and corneal tomography/biomechanics. Methods: Repeatability of the blepharo-tensiometer was evaluated at different inclination angles: 10°, 15°, and 20° for the upper eyelid (U10, U15, and U20) and 45°, 50°, and 55° for the lower eyelid (L45, L50, and L55). Reproducibility was evaluated in terms of different operators and inclination angles. Both the maximum and average ELP were evaluated. Best-corrected visual acuity, manifest refraction spherical equivalent, eyelid types, palpebral fissure height, exophthalmometry, axial length, and corneal tomographic/biomechanical parameters were measured. Spearman analysis and generalized estimating equations were used to explore potential correlations. Results: This study included 36 eyes from 36 subjects. The ICCs for repeatability were comparable between different inclination angles, so U15 and L50 were selected for further analysis. The ICCs for reproducibility in terms of different operator or inclination angle also achieved good to excellent outcomes. Certain associations have been revealed between the ELP and corneal tomographic/biomechanical parameters. Tomographically, ELP influences corneal front J0, front asphericity, and the index of surface variance; whereas biomechanically, ELP affects the time at first applanation, deformation amplitude at highest concavity, and biomechanically corrected intraocular pressure. Conclusions: The tensiometer showed good precision. The study also showed that ELP causes a flattening effect on the peripheral cornea, with greater ELP linked to better corneal biomechanical properties in healthy subjects. These findings may potentially illuminate new avenues in the field of corneal disorders and beyond.

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of small-incision orbicularis-levator fixation technique for monocular double-eyelid blepharoplasty.Methods Data were collected in 56 patients (5 males and 51 females) with monocular double eyelid from January 2013 to January 2014.All patients underwent small-incision orbicularis-levator fixation blepharoplasty.To ensure the symmetry between the two eyelids,extensive study and design might be done before the surgery,including the positon of incisions,the amount of tissue removed,the tightness of sutures fixation during surgery,and so on.Results All patients were successfully operated and were performed postoperative follow-up for 19.3±3.4 months.MRI was taken on their upper eyelids preoperatively and 6 months postoperatively.Before the surgery,the MRI orbicularis oculi muscle thickness were 4.08±0.74 U in the left side and 4.81±1.05 U in the right (t=2.66,P＜0.05);the areas of orbit fat were 84.26±9.75 U2 in the left and 93.85±12.15 U2 in the right (t =3.21,P＜0.05).As for 6 months postoperatively,the MRI orbicularis oculi muscle thickness were 4.07±0.69 U in the left side and 4.37±0.99 U in the right (t=1.46,P=0.15);the areas of orbit fat were 82.88±8.81 U2 in the left and 85.30±11.94 U2 in the right (t =1.21,P=0.23).Fifty-four patients were satisfied with surgery,the eyelid's crease turned narrow in 1 case and disappeared in 1 case.Those 2 cases were adjusted by secondary surgery using the same method.Conclusions Small-incision orbicularis-levator fixation blepharoplasty has a high success rate,with acceptable bilateral symmetry and slight scar.

Abstract:Aim: to study changes in intraocular pressure (IOP), volumetric ocular blood flow (OBF) rate, and biomechanical properties of the cornea after excimer laser ablation in patients with myopia of different degrees. Material and methods: A total of 16 patients (32 eyes) with myopia ranging from 2.75 to 9.0 D were examined before and after LASIK. Ocular Blood Flow Analyzer (OBFA) was used to measure IOP and OBF as well as pulse amplitude and volume. Ocular Response Analyzer (ORA) was also employed to provide the following data: Goldmann-equivalent IOP, corneal compensated IOP, corneal hysteresis, and corneal resistance factor. The eyes were then divided into two groups: group 1 - 15 eyes with less than 70-µm deep ablation of the cornea and group 2 - 17 eyes with more than 70-µm deep ablation. Results: Group 1 demonstrated a statistically reliable decrease in IOP values provided by either method and biomechanical parameters of the cornea (p<0.005), but no difference in pre- and postoperative OBF, or pulse amplitude, or pulse volume (p>0.05). In group 2, all the parameters changed reliably, except for the pulse volume (p>0.05). In particular, a decrease was recorded for IOP (with no dependence to the method of measurement; p<0.001), pulse amplitude (p<0.01), corneal hysteresis (p<0.001), and corneal resistance factor (p<0.001); an increase - for OBF (p<0.05). Conclusion: One should allow for possible mismeasurement of IOP and OBF as well as biomechanical parameters of the cornea in post-LASIK patients, keeping in mind that the extent of error depends on the depth of ablation. Shallow ablation (no more than 70-µm deep) has no statistically significant effect on OBF readings, while IOP seems to decrease considerably. In deep ablation (more than 70-µm deep), both parameters are reliably lower than at baseline.

Abstract:Purpose: To compare the incidence of strabismus after upper and lower blepharoplasty in the United States. Methods: Retrospective cohort study of adults (age ≥18 years) in the IRIS Registry (Intelligent Research in Sight) who underwent blepharoplasty between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2020. The primary outcome was the Kaplan–Meier estimated cumulative incidence of strabismus diagnosis and surgery within 3 years of blepharoplasty. Multivariable Cox regression was used to determine the association of blepharoplasty type with strabismus diagnosis and surgery, adjusting for patient age, sex, and geographic region. Results: Blepharoplasty was performed in 368,623 patients (median [interquartile range] age, 69 [63–75] years, and 69% female). Compared with those undergoing upper eyelid blepharoplasty, patients treated with lower eyelid blepharoplasty were slightly younger (median age, 66 vs. 69 years; p < 0.001) and more likely to be female (71% vs. 69%; p < 0.001). There was a greater 3-year incidence of strabismus diagnosis (2.0% vs. 1.5%; p < 0.001) and a greater 3-year incidence of strabismus surgery (0.15% vs. 0.06%; p = 0.003) for individuals undergoing lower vs. upper blepharoplasty. After adjusting for age, sex, and geographic region, lower blepharoplasty was associated with a higher 3-year risk of strabismus diagnosis (HR, 1.49; 95% CI, 1.23–1.81; p < 0.001) and surgery (HR, 2.53; 95% CI, 1.27–5.03; p = 0.008). Conclusions: This registry-based analysis found that individuals undergoing lower eyelid blepharoplasty were at higher risk of strabismus compared with those undergoing upper eyelid blepharoplasty. Using large databases to understand the incidence of complications of frequently performed procedures may improve ophthalmologists’ ability to provide data-driven counseling on surgical risks prior to intervention.

Abstract:Objective: To do statistics on some factors which lead to morphological changes of upper eyelid and surgical methods used to improve upper eyelid status in women over 40 years old. Subject and method: A prospective, descriptive study was conducted on 155 patients who were treated surgically at 108 Military Central Hospital from June 2022 to June 2023. Result: Patients had 89% of excess skin, 52.2% of muscle prolapse, 19.4% of fat hernia and fat atrophy. Patients were divided into 5 groups based on their characteristics of upper eyelid changes and skin properties (thick or thin) to apply surgical methods. Group 1 included patients who had excess skin, thin skin and multiple eyelid folds; and received surgical removal of excess skin along the eyelid folds and eyelid fold reconstruction. Group 2 included patients who had excess skin, thin skin and 1 clear eyelid fold; and received surgical removal of excess skin along the eyebrow curve. Group 3 included patients who had excess skin, thick skin, muscle prolapse and eyelid folds; and received surgical removal of excess skin along the eyebrow curve and browplasty. Group 4 included patients who had excess skin, thick skin, muscle prolapse, no eyelid folds or uneven eyelid folds; and received surgical removal of excess skin along the eyebrow curve, browplasty and correction of eyelid folds. Group 5 included patients who had thick skin, fat hernia and not much excess skin; and received surgical removal of fat and correction of eyelid folds. Conclusion: Through study, assessment and analysis of the outcomes of upper blepharoplasty for 155 female patients who are 40 years old or older, we conclude that if we identify correctly prolapse and deformity for each case, we can choose suitable solutions which have short postoperative recovery, good reconstructive outcomes and high patient satisfaction.
