Abstract:Context The use of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for breast cancer patients inhibits tumor cell growth and proliferation, alleviates adverse reactions, and inhibits tumor recurrence and metastasis post-surgery. An assessment of its historical efficacy and an examination of the latest research trends are imperative to thoroughly leverage the potential of TCM for breast cancer treatment.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper aims to address the application and effectiveness evaluation of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in the treatment of breast cancer. Specifically: - **Research Background**: Breast cancer is one of the major diseases threatening women's health, especially in China, with approximately 420,000 new cases each year, and the incidence rate has been continuously rising over the past 10 years. The main current treatments for breast cancer include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and molecular targeted therapy, but these methods all have certain side effects and limitations. - **Research Objective**: Through bibliometric analysis, this study systematically evaluated the research literature on TCM treatment for breast cancer from 2003 to 2022 to determine the current research status, identify hot areas, and development trends, thereby providing reference for clinical and scientific research. - **Main Findings**: - The number of Chinese and English literature has significantly increased over time, especially after 2017. - The countries with the most published related research are China, the United States, and Germany. - High-frequency keywords include "apoptosis," "expression," "in vitro," "chemotherapy," "triple-negative breast cancer," etc., indicating the current focus areas of research. - Network pharmacology and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) have become research hotspots in recent years. In summary, this paper reveals the current research status and future development directions of TCM in the field of breast cancer treatment through the analysis of a large number of literature, providing valuable reference information for researchers.
