Abstract:This study aimed to investigate the fluoride release properties and the effect on bond strength of two experimental adhesive cements. Synthesized particles of nano-fluorapatite (nano-FA) or nano-fluorohydroxyapatite (nano-FHA) were incorporated into a resin-modified glass ionomer cement (Fuji Ortho LC) and characterized using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. Blocks with six different concentrations of nano-FA or nano-FHA were manufactured and their fluoride release properties evaluated by ultraviolet spectrophotometry. The unaltered glass ionomer cement Fuji Ortho LC (GC, control) and the two experimental cements with the highest fluoride release capacities (nano-FA+Fuji Ortho LC (GFA) and nano-FHA+Fuji Ortho LC (GFHA)) were used to bond composite blocks and orthodontic brackets to human enamel. After 24h water storage all specimens were debonded, measuring the micro-tensile bond strength (μTBS) and the shear bond strength (SBS), respectively. The optimal concentration of added nano-FA and nano-FHA for maximum fluoride release was 25wt.%, which nearly tripled fluoride release after 70days compared with the control group. GC exhibited a significantly higher SBS than GFHA/GFA, with GFHA and GFA not differing significantly (P>0.05). The μTBS of GC and GFA were significantly higher than that of GFHA (P⩽0.05). The results seem to indicate that the fluoride release properties of Fuji Ortho LC are improved by incorporating nano-FA or nano-FHA, simultaneously maintaining a clinically sufficient bond strength when nano-FA was added.
Effect of Different Concentrations of Silver Nanoparticles on the Quality of the Chemical Bond of Glass Ionomer Cement Dentine in Primary Teeth

Abstract:Background: The nanotechnologies have been applied for dental restorative materials manufacturing such as glass ionomer cement, composites, tooth regeneration, and endodontic sealers. The study aimed to investigate the chemical bond of conventional glass ionomer cement and to evaluate the addition of different concentrations of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on the quality of the chemical bond of glass ionomer cement to primary dentin. Methods: Silver nanoparticle (AgNP) powder was added in concentrations of 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6% to the conventional powder of GIC Fuji II. Then, the powder was added to the liquid and mixed with the recommended powder/liquid ratio of 3.6:1 g. The Fourier-transform infrared spectra (FTIR) of teeth with 0.2%, 0.4%, and 0.6% w/w of silver nanoparticles in GIC fills and the control tooth were obtained. The conventional glass ionomer was used as a control group. The control and the plain silver tooth were subjected to FTIR analysis using an ATR-FTIR spectrophotometer (ThermoFisher Scientific, Waltham, MA, United States) with zinc selenide (ZnSe) ATR crystal (attenuated total reflection) and OPUS v7.5 software. All spectra were recorded in the range of 500-3,500 cm-1 in the transmission mode with an ATR module. Results: The AgNPs added at 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6% concentration to GIC provided some information in the context of bond interaction with the dentin. Various bond peaks were seen for calcium, carbonate, phosphate, and amide. In our study, only the amide and phosphate were generated. The amide peaks were almost similar to the control, 0.2%, 0.4%, and 0.6%, with the peaks in the range of 1250-1650 cm-1. There was a clear shift in the phosphate peak from the control, 0.2, and 0.4%, which was about 1050 cm-1, whereas for 0.6%, there was a clear shift from 1050 cm-1 to 880 cm-1. Conclusion: GIC supplemented with AgNPs showed that a concentration above 0.4% of AgNPs altered the bond quality in dentin interaction. In conclusion, adding AgNPs at a minimal level improves the mechanical properties and maintains the same bond quality as GIC.
Developing a novel glass ionomer cement with enhanced mechanical and chemical properties

Abstract:Objective To develop a novel glass ionomer cement (NGIC) with enhanced mechanical and chemical properties and assess its biocompatibility, mechanical strength, and ion release. Methods Nanosilver doped bioactive glass (NanoAg BAG) was synthesized by sol-gel method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The NanoAg BAG, together with poly(vinylphosphonic acid) (PVPA), alumino-fluorosilicate glass and poly-acrylic acid were used to synthesize NGIC. The optimal PVPA concentration for NGIC was determined by PVPA modified GIC's biocompatibility and mechanical properties and used to prepare NGIC specimens. NGIC specimens with NanoAg BAG at 0%, 1%, 2%, and 5% were allocated into Groups NGIC0, NGIC1, NGIC2, and NGIC5, respectively. The biocompatibility, surface morphology, elemental composition, surface topography, chemical properties, compressive strength, diametral tensile strength, and ion release of the NGIC were assessed. A conventional glass ionomer cement (GIC) was used as a control. Results A granular BAG with nano silver particles attached on its surface were found, indicating the successful synthesis of NanoAg BAG. PVPA at 10% presented the best effect in enhancing the biocompatibility and mechanical properties of PVPA modified GIC and was used to prepare NGIC specimens. NGIC1 showed similar biocompatibility, surface morphology and topography to GIC. Chemical properties results showed that NGICs showed the same adsorption peaks to GIC. The compressive strength (mean±SD in MPa) was 168.1 ± 29.7, 205.5 ± 29.5, 221.8 ± 46.8, 216.6 ± 59.3 and 167.7 ± 36.4, and the diametral tensile strength (mean±SD in MPa) was 14.1 ± 1.7, 18.3 ± 4.9, 21.2 ± 2.2, 17.2 ± 3.8 and 13.3 ± 3.3 for GIC, NGIC0, NGIC1, NGIC2 and NGIC5 respectively. NIGC0, NGIC1 and NGIC2 showed higher compressive and diametral tensile strength than GIC (p < 0.01). NGIC2 and NGIC5 showed higher release of fluoride, calcium, phosphate and silver ion than GIC and NGIC0 (p < 0.05). Conclusion A biocompatible NGIC with enhanced mechanical properties were developed. It presented enhanced fluoride, calcium, phosphate and silver ion release compared to conventional GIC.

In vitro evaluation of some mechanical properties and fluoride release of glass-ionomer cement modified with seashell nanoparticles

Abstract:Background: This research assessed the compressive strength and microhardness of glass-ionomer cement (GIC) after incorporating seashell nanoparticles and evaluated the inert fluoride-releasing ability. Methods: Seashell nanoparticles were synthesized by a mechanical grinding protocol. These particles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive x-ray and added to the glass-ionomer powder in a weight-to-weight ratio. Seventy-five study samples were distributed into eight samples for each study group (control, 5%, and 10% seashell) to have 24 samples for each test of the study (compressive strength, microhardness, and fluoride release). One sample per group was prepared for the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) test. The fluoride ion release was measured after one and four weeks of incubation period at 37 ºC, while other tests were conducted after 24 hours of incubation. Results: In all the test variables, the 10% seashell group showed the highest significant mean, followed by the 5% seashell and the control group. However, there was no significant difference between the 5% and 10% seashell groups in the first week of fluoride release. Conclusion: According to the results, 10% seashell nanoparticles were the best to improve the mechanical properties of GIC and boost the fluoride-releasing potential.

Abstract:A three-layer fully-connected feedforward neural network with 35 input neurons, 10 hidden neurons, and 26 output neurons has been developed and implemented directly in hardware. The digital neurons use 12-bit two's complement fixed-point weights and symmetric saturating linear activation functions. The hidden layer and output layer contain 360 and 286 12-bit weights respectively. The neural network was developed with VHDL and synthesized for an XC2V4000-6BF957 X iVirtex-2 FPGA. All calculations within each neural layer are performed in parallel. The neural network was configured and trained to solve the classic character recognition problem. The network was trained in MATLAB using floating-point numbers and an uncorrupted character set. The trained network achieved a 100% recognition rate on the perfect characters as well as characters that had up to 29% of their pixels flipped. When the floating-point computations from MATLAB were performed instead with 12-bit fixed-point weights in the Xilinx FPGA, for the characters tested to date, uncorrupted character recognition remained at 100% and noisy character recognition was not significantly affected by the loss of precision.

Abstract:--This paper presents the design of a Fuzzy PID controller (FPID) based on fuzzy logic with a PID structure with many valued logic and reasoning. The self-turning Fuzzy PID control take in an error and the rate of change of error of the altitude and attitude of the quadrotor as the input to the fuzzy controller and use the fuzzy rules to adjust the PID parameter automatically. Simulations have been conducted to observe the differences in controlling the quadrotor in flight using the new FPID controller instead of using PID controller. The effectiveness of the developed FPID is verified using the dSPACE platform whereby the Simulink model of the controller is converted to a real time system to generate the control signals for the control of quad rotor helicopter.

Abstract:Restaurant employees must deal with loud noise, busy environments, difficult customers, heavy, awkward, sharp, and hot objects, repetitive motions, and stress on various joints, all of which can lead to fatigue, sudden accidents, and longterm musculoskeletal injury. The goal of this case study was to assess the risk of injuries and accidents from conducting various tasks in the restaurant, specifically carrying/lifting, table management, and polishing silverware. The nine participants were servers at a local country club restaurant. Physical workload was measured by a scale of physical exertion. Cognitive workload was assessed, as well as cumulative trauma disorder risk. Overall results show that there is sufficient risk in some of the tasks to warrant concern. Specific results are discussed, as well as recommendations for improved safety.
Using Functionalized Micron-Sized Glass Fibres for the Synergistic Effect of Glass Ionomer on Luting Material

Abstract:This laboratory experiment was conducted with the objective of augmenting the mechanical properties of glass ionomer cement (GIC) via altering the composition of GIC luting powder through the introduction of micron-sized silanized glass fibres (GFs). Experimental GICs were prepared through the addition of two concentrations of GFs (0.5% and 1.0% by weight) to the powder of commercially available GIC luting materials. The effect of GF in set GIC was internally evaluated using micro-CT while the mechanical attributes such as nano hardness (nH), elastic modulus (EM), compressive strength (CS), and diametral tensile strength (DTS) were gauged. Additionally, the physical properties such as water solubility and sorption, contact angle (CA), and film thickness were evaluated. Reinforced Ketac Cem Radiopaque (KCR) GIC with 0.5 wt.% GF achieved improved nH, EM, CS, and DTS without affecting the film thickness, CA or internal porosity of the set GIC cement. In contrast, both GF-GIC formulations of Medicem (MC) GIC showed the detrimental effect of the GF incorporation. Reinforcing KCR GIC with 0.5 wt.% silanized GFs could improve the physical and mechanical attributes of luting material. Silanized GF, with optimal concentration within the GIC powder, can be used as a functional additive in KCR GIC with promising results.
Green Synthesis and Investigation of Antimicrobial Activity and Compressive Resilience of Glass Ionomer Cement Modified With Zirconia Nanoparticles: An In Vitro Study

Abstract:Background Glass ionomer cement (GIC) serves as a crucial biomaterial in dental restoration, offering applications in filling, lining, and adhesive procedures. Nevertheless, its mechanical properties often fall short, particularly in regions subjected to considerable stress. To address this issue, zirconia nanoparticles are incorporated at specific levels. Aim To assess the antimicrobial efficacy and compressive resilience of GIC modified with zirconia nanoparticles synthesized through green synthesis methods. Material and methods Zirconia nanoparticles were synthesized via a green method utilizing aloe vera extract in solvent form. These nanoparticles were then mixed into GIC at different concentration levels. Group I incorporated zirconia nanoparticles at a concentration of 3%, Group II at 5%, and Group III at 10%, while Group IV was the control, consisting of traditional GIC. Following that, samples were prepared and underwent characterization through various analytical techniques. The ability to inhibit microbial growth and the compressive resilience of the groups were examined. Microbial inhibition against the bacterial strains was assessed through minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), and the ability to withstand compression was gauged by measuring the maximum force the specimen could endure before fracturing. Data underwent analysis with Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, IBM Corp., Version 24.0, Armonk, NY). Repeated measures of analysis of variance (ANOVA) were utilized to gauge average MIC values and compressive strength. Following this, Tukey's post hoc test was employed for pairwise comparisons. Results The findings indicated, incorporating zirconia nanoparticles into GIC led to an improvement in its antimicrobial effectiveness, with a noticeable enhancement observed as the weight percent (% wt) of the additive increased. This improvement was notably noticeable in its effectiveness against Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus, exceeding that of the control with a noteworthy distinction. Furthermore, there were significant enhancements in compressive strength, in Group I (180.48 ± 1.02), Group II (191.25 ± 0.52), and Group III (197.52 ± 0.75), compared to Group IV (167.22 ± 1.235), with significant disparities (p < 0.05). Conclusion The research illustrates that introducing green-synthesized zirconia nanoparticles into GIC leads to heightened bactericidal potency and compressive resilience when contrasted with the control group (Group IV). Notably, the highest concentration of 10% demonstrated the most favourable antimicrobial attributes alongside enhanced strength. Consequently, integrating green-synthesized zirconia nanoparticles into GIC holds potential as a proficient material. In future studies, there should be an exploration of molecular chemistry and bonding mechanisms to enhance our comprehension of its capabilities.
Mechanical Properties and Ion Release from Fibre-Reinforced Glass Ionomer Cement

Abstract:The aim of this study was to compare the mechanical properties and ion release from a commercially available resin-modified glass ionomer cement to a formulation reinforced by the addition of short glass fibres at various percentages. Methods: Three experimental groups were prepared by adding a mass ratio of 10%, 15% and 20% of short glass fibres to the powder portion of the cement from a capsule (GC Fuji II LC), while the control group contained no fibres. Microhardness (n = 12), fracture toughness, and flexural, compressive and diametral tensile strength (n = 8) were evaluated. To study ion release, readings were obtained utilising fluoro-selective and calcium-selective electrodes after 24 h, 7 days and 30 days (n = 12). The spatial distribution of fibres within the material was evaluated through scanning electron microscopy. The data were analysed using one-way ANOVA with a Bonferroni adjustment. Results: The findings suggest that elevating fibre weight ratios to 20 wt% results in improved mechanical properties (p < 0.05) in microhardness, flexural strength, diametral tensile strength and fracture toughness. In terms of ion release, a statistically significant difference (p 0.05). Regarding calcium release, no statistically significant differences were observed among the groups at any of the evaluated time points (p > 0.05). SEM showed the fibres were homogeneously incorporated into the cement in all experimental groups. Conclusions: Resin-modified glass ionomer enhanced with short glass fibres at a weight loading of 20% showcased the most favourable mechanical properties while concurrently maintaining the ability to release fluoride and calcium after a 30-day period.

Abstract:Abstract Background . The development of dental caries is associated with various microorganisms and secondary caries formation is the main cause of restorations failure. The advice for restorative dental materials that have antimicrobial properties has stimulated the introduction of materials containing different antibacterial agents. Objectives . The present study has been designed to synthesize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and incorporate AgNPs and amoxicillin into glass ionomer cement (GIC) to synergize its effect on oral microbes. The effect of the added antimicrobial agents on compressive strength (CS) of GIC was also evaluated. Material and methods . Biosynthesis of AgNPs was done using Cupressus macrocarpa extract and AgNPs were characterized. A total of 120 disc-shaped specimens were prepared and classified into 4 main groups where Group A includes conventional GIC, Groups B and C include GIC with AgNPs or amoxicillin, respectively, while Group D included GIC with both AgNPs and amoxicillin. Each group was tested for the antimicrobial activity against both Streptococcus mutans ( S. mutans ) and Staphylococcus aureus ( S. aureus ). The distribution of biofilm was examined via a scanning electron microscope. The CS of the tested material was measured using a Material Test System. Results . The UV−visible spectrum showed a peak of 429 nm. Transmission electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction pattern and Fourier transform infrared analysis confirmed the formation of AgNPs with spherical to oblong polydispersed particles of diameter in the range of 13.5–25.8 nm. The maximum inhibitory zone was recorded for group D against both tested bacteria with a mean of 29 mm at first 24 h period to 15 mm at three weeks and showed antimicrobial rate 92.2% and 92.56%, against both strains, respectively. Additionally, group D disintegrated the structure of S. aureus biofilm and even kill bacteria in the biofilms. The addition of AgNPs and amoxicillin caused an insignificant effect on CS of GIC. Conclusion. TheAgNPs showed a synergistic effect in combination with amoxicillin and GIC dental restorative material against studied microorganisms. The agents can be safely added with minimal effect on the mechanical properties of the original cement.

Abstract:BACKGROUND: Glass ionomer cement (GIC) is a commonly used restorative material in dentistry, but GIC does not have significant antibiofilm effects and its mechanical strength is limited.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the antibiofilm and mechanical properties of a newly developed silver nanowire (AgNW) modified GIC.METHODS: GICs were modified with different nanosilver formulations including 0.05%wt AgNW, 0.5%wt AgNW, 0.05%wt silver nanoparticle (AgNP) and 0.5%wt AgNP. Biofilms of Streptococcus mutans were cultured for 72 h on GIC specimens. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was conducted to observe the accumulation and morphology of Streptococcus mutans on the material surfaces. Another set of biofilm/specimens was treated with SYTO-9 and the biofilm development was evaluated by quantifying the visible stain with an inverted fluorescence microscope. The compressive strength of the specimens was assessed according to ISO 9917-1:2007. The colour of GICs was compared using the VITA Easyshade system.RESULTS: SEM images showed that fewer biofilms were accumulated on nanosilver-modified GICs. The Streptococcus mutans quantity was significantly lower in all nanosilver-modified groups compared to conventional GIC (p<0.0001). GIC modified with 0.5% AgNP showed slightly lower compressive strength than the negative control (58.3 ± 12.9 MPa vs 78.3 ± 13.8 MPa); but there is no significant difference between all study groups. The colour change between AgNW-modified GIC and conventional GIC was significantly lower than that between AgNP-modified GIC and conventional GIC.CONCLUSION: AgNW-modified GIC showed superior antibiofilm effect and comparable compressive strength to conventional GIC. In addition, the complement of AgNW would not influence the colour stability of GIC as much as AgNP.CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: This study developed a novel AgNW-modified GIC material. It showed good antibiofilm and mechanical properties and would not influence the colour stability of GIC. The AgNW-modified GIC has a large potential for clinical use and biomedical application.

Fabrication and characterization of novel glass-ionomer cement prepared from oyster shells

Abstract:Glass ionomer cement (GIC) is one of the most widely used restorative materials for temporary fillings and reconstructions in dentistry, but it has relatively poor mechanical properties that make its use limited, especially in places subject to high pressure. Thus, to extend the applicability of GIC, samples based on SiO2, P2O5, Al2O3, CaF2, and NaF were prepared with the addition of calcium oxide CaO extracted from natural sources (oyster shells) in different ratios of 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25% wt. The suggested glass samples were evaluated, and their physical and mechanical properties were compared. XRD, SEM, and FTIR were performed on the samples. 24 specimens were prepared for each test in order to assess the mechanical properties as per the specific requirements. The tests included measuring bending strength, elastic modulus, adjusted direct tensile strength, absorption, water solubility, and diffusion coefficients after the specimens were stored in distilled water for 60 days. All calculations were carried out in accordance with standard procedures. The findings indicated a slight improvement in the bending resistance of the recommended GIC. Glass modified with 20% by weight of calcium oxide was the best among the ratios in terms of the results obtained and compared to the traditional commercial type. The malleable strength of the sample was 54.121 MPa, while the flexural modulus increased, the tensile strength reached 10.154 MPa, and the solubility was 25.87 µg/mm3 after storage for 60 days. These indicate that the developed material is suitable for use as a dental restoration material when compared to international commercial cement specifications.

Abstract:This study aimed to determine the reinforcing effect of two weight ratios of Gum Arabic (GA) natural biopolymer, i.e., 0.5% and 1.0% in the powdered composition of glass ionomer luting cement. GA powder was oxidized and GA-reinforced GIC in 0.5 and 1.0 wt.% formulations were prepared in rectangular bars using two commercially available GIC luting materials (Medicem and Ketac Cem Radiopaque). The control groups of both materials were prepared as such. The effect of reinforcement was evaluated in terms of microhardness, flexural strength (FS), fracture toughness (FT), and tensile strength (TS). The internal porosity and water contact angle formation on the study samples were also evaluated. Film thickness was measured to gauge the effect of micron-sized GA powder in GA–GIC composite. Paired sample t-tests were conducted to analyze data for statistical significance (p < 0.05). The experimental groups of both materials containing 0.5 wt.% GA–GIC significantly improved FS, FT, and TS compared to their respective control groups. However, the microhardness significantly decreased in experimental groups of both cements compared to their respective control groups. The addition of GA powder did not cause a significant increase in film thickness and the water contact angle of both 0.5 and 1.0 wt.% GA–GIC formulations were less than 90o. Interestingly, the internal porosity of 0.5 wt.% GA–GIC formulations in both materials were observed less compared to their respective control groups. The significantly higher mechanical properties and low porosity in 0.5 wt.% GA–GIC formulations compared to their respective control group indicate that reinforcing GA powder with 0.5 wt.% in GIC might be promising in enhancing the mechanical properties of GIC luting materials.

Abstract:We propose two 2-bit adders, Type-A and Type-B, as the basic cells for three novel low-voltage (1.1 V) micropower 16-bit asynchronous adders: Adder-A, Adder-B and Adder-AB. Adder-A employs Type-A adders and features high speed and low power dissipation. Adder-B employs Type-B adders and has lower speed and features lower power dissipation. By combining Type-A and Type-B, the hybrid Adder-AB design features the same power dissipation as Adder-B but with significantly higher speed. We analytically derive the speed and power dissipation of our designs. We compare our designs with reported synchronous and asynchronous designs and show that our designs have some improved parameters over these reported designs.

Effect of Incorporating Date Seeds Microparticles on Compressive Strength and Microhardness of Conventional Glass Ionomer (an In Vitro Study)

Abstract:Background: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of incorporating date seeds (DS) microparticles on the compressive strength and microhardness of conventional glass ionomer cement properties following aging in artificial saliva. Material and methods: Date seeds powder was prepared and added to the conventional glass ionomer cement at concentrations of 3% and 5% by weight. To prepare the samples, a silicon mold was utilized, with dimensions of 6 mm in height and 4 mm in diameter. These samples were then divided into three main groups: group I; unmodified GICs serving as the control, group II; GICs with a 3% weight of DS, and group III; GICs with a 5% weight of DS. The compressive strength and microhardness of the samples were subsequently measured and compared across the three groups, after being stored in artificial saliva for two different time intervals: one day and 30 days. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis was conducted to determine the nature of the DS and the GIC-DS composite. At the same time, a scanning electron microscope (SEM) was employed to investigate the surface characteristics of the samples. Results: The measurement values after 24 hours showed that the DS addition had significantly increased the compressive strength but had no effect on the microhardness. However, after aging there was a significant increase in the microhardness and a significant decrease in the compressive strength of the DS groups compared to the control group. Conclusions: The addition of date seeds powder showed an enhancing effect on the microhardness over time but adversely affected the compressive strength of the material. Cell viability assessment and ion release profiles of GICs modified with TiO 2 - and Mg-doped hydroxyapatite nanoparticles

Abstract:Objectives To assess and compare the cell viability and ion release profiles of two conventional glass ionomer cements (GICs), Fuji IX and Ketac Molar EasyMix, modified with TiO 2 and Mg-doped-HAp nanoparticles (NPs). Methods TiO 2 NPs, synthesized via a sol–gel method, and Mg-doped hydroxyapatite, synthesized via a hydrothermal process, were incorporated into GICs at a concentration of 5 wt.%. The biocompatibility of prepared materials was assessed by evaluating their effects on the viability of dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs), together with monitoring ion release profiles. Statistical analysis was performed using One-way analysis of variance, with significance level p < 0.05. Results The addition of NPs did not significantly affect the biocompatibility of GICs, as evidenced by comparable decreased levels in cell viability to their original formulations. Distinct variations in cell viability were observed among Fuji IX and Ketac Molar, including their respective modifications. FUJI IX and its modification with TiO 2 exhibited moderate decrease in cell viability, while other groups exhibited severe negative effects. While slight differences in ion release profiles were observed among the groups, significant variations compared to original cements were not achieved. Fluoride release exhibited an initial "burst release" within the initial 24 h in all samples, stabilizing over subsequent days. Conclusions The addition of NPs did not compromise biocompatibility, nor anticariogenic potential of tested GICs. However, observed differences among FUJI IX and Ketac Molar, including their respective modifications, as well as induced low viability of DPSC by all tested groups, suggest the need for careful consideration of cement composition in their biological assessments. Clinical significance The findings contribute to understanding the complex interaction between NPs and GIC matrices. However, the results should be interpreted recognizing the inherent limitations associated with in vitro studies. Further research avenues could explore long-term effects, in vivo performance, and potential clinical applications.
