Abstract:Microneedling is a minimally invasive dermatological procedure in which fine needles are rolled over the skin to puncture the stratum corneum. This therapy is used to induce collagen formation, neovascularization and growth factor production of treated areas. It has been used in a wide range of dermatologic conditions, including androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and alopecia areata, among others. While there are a limited number of studies examining this therapy in the use of hair loss, microneedling has been successfully paired with other hair growth promoting therapies, such as minoxidil, platelet-rich plasma and topical steroids, and shown to stimulate hair follicle growth. It is thought that microneedling facilitates penetration of such first-line medications, and this is one mechanism by which it promotes hair growth. To date, the area most studied and with the most success has been microneedling treatment of AGA. While the current evidence does not allow one to conclude superiority of microneedling over existing standard therapies for hair loss, microneedling shows some promise in improving hair growth, especially in combination with existing techniques. This review summarizes the current literature regarding microneedling in the treatment of alopecia and calls for further studies to define a standard treatment protocol.

Microneedling and Its Use in Hair Loss Disorders: A Systematic Review

Abstract:IntroductionMicroneedling (MN) is a minimally invasive procedure involving the induction of percutaneous wounds with medical-grade needles. In this literature review, we investigate clinical data on MN for the treatment of hair loss disorders.MethodsA literature search was conducted through PubMed up to November 2021 to identify original articles evaluating the use of MN on hair loss disorders. The database was searched using the following keywords: “microneedling,” “micro needling,” “micro needle,” “microneedle,” “needle,” “dermaroller” and “alopecia,” “hair loss,” “alopecia,” “areata,” “cicatricial,” or “effluvium.”ResultsA total of 22 clinical studies featuring 1127 subjects met our criteria for inclusion. Jadad scores ranged from 1 to 3, with a mean of 2. As an adjunct therapy, MN improved hair parameters across genders and a range of hair loss types, severities, needling devices, needling depths of 0.50–2.50 mm, and session frequencies from once weekly to monthly. Across 17 investigations totaling 911 androgenic alopecia (AGA) subjects, MN improved hair parameters when paired with 5% minoxidil, growth factor solutions, and/or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) topicals, or when introduced to subjects whose hair count changes had plateaued for ≥ 6 months on other treatments. Across four investigations on 201 alopecia areata (AA) subjects, MN improved hair parameters as a standalone therapy versus cryotherapy, as an adjunct to 5-aminolevulinic acid and photodynamic therapy, and equivalently when paired with topical PRP versus carbon dioxide laser therapy with topical PRP. Across 657 subjects receiving MN, no serious adverse events were reported.ConclusionsClinical studies demonstrate generally favorable results for MN as an adjunct therapy for AGA and AA. However, data are of relatively low quality. Significant heterogeneity exists across interventions, comparators, and MN procedures. Large-scale randomized controlled trials are recommended to discern the effects of MN as a standalone and adjunct therapy, determine best practices, and establish long-term safety.

Abstract:Objective To provide dermatologists with more clinical experience in treating androgenetic alopecia, we evaluated the effect and safety of combined microneedling therapy for androgenetic alopecia. Methods Studies on combined microneedling for hair loss were comprehensively searched by us in PubMed, Excerpta Medica Database, and the Cochrane Library Database. The literature search spanned the period from 2012 to 2022. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were developed, and the literature was screened according to this criteria. The Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool was used to assess the quality of the studies. The researcher applied Revman 5.3 and Stata 15.1 software to analyze the data after extracting information from the data. Results Finally, 13 RCTs involving 696 AGA patients were included to compare the clinical effectiveness and adverse events of combined MN therapy with single MN therapy or single drug therapy for AGA. Microneedling: Where do we stand now? A systematic review of the literature

Abstract:Background: Patients who suffer from scars or wrinkles have several therapeutic options to improve the appearance of their skin. The available treatment modalities that provide desirable results are often overtly invasive and entail a risk of undesirable adverse effects. Microneedling has recently emerged as a non-ablative alternative for treating patients who are concerned with the aesthetic changes that result from injury, disease or ageing. Objective: This review aims to evaluate the current evidence in the literature on microneedling. Methods: A systematic literature review was performed by searching the electronic databases PubMed and Google Scholar. The reviewed articles were analysed and compared on study design, treatment protocol, outcome parameters, efficacy measurement and results to evaluate the strength of the current evidence. Results: Microneedling was investigated in experimental settings for its effects on atrophic acne scars, skin rejuvenation, hypertrophic scars, keloids, striae distensae, androgenetic alopecia, melasma and acne vulgaris. Several clinical trials used randomisation and single-blindation to strengthen the validity of the study outcome. Microneedling showed noteworthy results when used on its own and when combined with topical products or radiofrequency. When compared with other treatments, it showed similar results but was preferred due to minimal side effects and shorter downtime. Conclusion: This systematic review positions microneedling as a safe and effective therapeutic option for the treatment of scars and wrinkles. The current literature does show some methodological shortcomings, and further research is required to truly establish microneedling as an evidence-based therapeutic option for treating scars, wrinkles and other skin conditions.
Growth Factors and Microneedling in Alopecia Areata: A Narrative Review

Abstract:Alopecia areata (AA) is an autoimmune condition that causes non-scarring hair loss on the scalp or other hair-bearing surfaces. Various signalling molecules regulate the hair cycle and hair follicle regeneration. These include genes, growth factors, nuclear receptors, cytokines, and subcellular signalling pathways. Growth factors can cause the vascular endothelium and dermal fibroblasts to proliferate, extend the anagen phase, and delay the initiation of catagen in the hair follicle, thereby promoting hair growth. Microneedling causes the release of growth factors and has been shown to help high-molecular-weight drugs penetrate the stratum corneum and hair follicles. These recent discoveries regarding the pathogenesis of AA have resulted in the development of promising therapies. Herein, this article reviews the use of growth factors and microneedling in the treatment of AA and explores their efficacy and safety. Treatment with growth factors and microneedling appears to be highly effective for AA, with no major adverse effects, and may provide a new option for hair regeneration therapy. To support the efficacy of growth factors and microneedling for AA treatment, additional large-scale studies of patients with AA are needed.
A randomized evaluator blinded study of effect of microneedling in androgenetic alopecia: A pilot study

Abstract:INTRODUCTION: Dermal papilla (DP) is the site of expression of various hair growth related genes. Various researches have demonstrated the underlying importance of Wnt proteins and wound growth factors in stimulating DP associated stem cells. Microneedling works by stimulation of stem cells and inducing activation of growth factors.MATERIALS AND METHODS: Hundred cases of mild to moderate (III vertex or IV) androgenetic alopecia (AGA) were recruited into 2 groups. After randomization one group was offered weekly microneedling treatment with twice daily 5% minoxidil lotion (Microneedling group); other group was given only 5% minoxidil lotion. After baseline global photographs, the scalp were shaved off to ensure equal length of hair shaft in all. Hair count was done in 1 cm(2) targeted fixed area (marked with tattoo) at baseline and at end of therapy (week 12). The 3 primary efficacy parameters assessed were: Change from baseline hair count at 12 weeks, patient assessment of hair growth at 12 weeks, and investigator assessment of hair growth at 12 weeks. A blinded investigators evaluated global photographic response. The response was assessed by 7- point scale.RESULTS: (1) Hair counts - The mean change in hair count at week 12 was significantly greater for the Microneedling group compared to the Minoxidil group (91.4 vs 22.2 respectively). (2) Investigator evaluation - Forty patients in Microneedling group had +2 to +3 response on 7-point visual analogue scale, while none showed the same response in the Minoxidil group. (3) Patient evaluation - In the Microneedling group, 41 (82%) patients reported more than 50% improvement versus only 2 (4.5%) patients in the Minoxidil group. Unsatisfied patients to conventional therapy for AGA got good response with Microneedling treatment.CONCLUSION: Dermaroller along with Minoxidil treated group was statistically superior to Minoxidil treated group in promoting hair growth in men with AGA for all 3 primary efficacy measures of hair growth. Microneedling is a safe and a promising tool in hair stimulation and also is useful to treat hair loss refractory to Minoxidil therapy.

Abstract:Alopecia areata (AA) is an emanating autoimmune disorder marked by short-term, non-scarring loss of hair in distinct patches or of the entire scalp. The transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS) is used to give drugs via transdermal patches, gels, lotions, and ointments. This approach provides better bioavailability and allows for a minimally invasive regulated release of pharmaceuticals over a longer period with fewer changes in peak plasma concentrations. It also has downsides since the stratum corneum (SC) layer, the outermost epidermal barrier, prevents large molecules from reaching this layer. This review looks at substantial research conducted on microneedles (MNs) as a potential option for the transdermal administration of drugs in addition to the expanding demand for non-invasive and patient-compatible medication administration strategies. MNs provide superior therapeutic effects than typical TDDS because they significantly increase the effectiveness of transdermal administration by bypassing the SC barrier. It also provides synergistic action with the drug by inflicting small localized wounds on the skin, which triggers the expulsion of numerous growth factors (fibroblast, platelet-derived, and transforming growth factors), enhancing collagen, elastin production and allows for spatiotemporally regulated medication release in the epidermal layers. This review comprises the epidemiology, pathophysiology, hair growth cycle, MN drug delivery strategies, and successful preclinical and clinical cases of MN combining drug treatment for the treatment of AA. Abstract:<section class="article-section__content"><h3 class="article-section__sub-title section1"> Background</h3><p>Microneedling has shown to have positive therapeutic effects in treatment of androgenetic alopecia (AGA), however, the best microneedling protocol is still controversial.</p></section><section class="article-section__content"><h3 class="article-section__sub-title section1"> Aims</h3><p>Investigating effect of microneedling with 2 different depths of penetration on promoting hair growth in patients with AGA.</p></section><section class="article-section__content"><h3 class="article-section__sub-title section1"> Methods</h3><p>sixty patients, in the age of 18‐45 years old with moderate and severe AGA were allocated into 3 groups of control: treatment with minoxidil 5% lotion; group A: treatment with minoxidil 5% lotion and biweekly microneedling with a depth of 1.2 mm and group B: treatment with minoxidil 5% lotion and biweekly microneedling with a depth of 0.6 mm during 12 weeks. Efficacy parameters including change of hair count and hair thickness from baseline and assessment of hair growth by patient and investigator were evaluated.</p></section><section class="article-section__content"><h3 class="article-section__sub-title section1"> Results</h3><p>Compared to the base‐line, a significant increase in hair count and hair thickness was observed in all three groups after completion of the treatment course (<i>P</i> < 0.05). The mean rise in hair count (<i>P</i> = 0.017) and hair thickness (<i>P</i> = 0.007) were significantly greater in group B compared to control group. Investigator's evaluation of hair regrowth was significantly greater in group A (<i>P</i> = 0.04) and group B (<i>P</i> = 0.007) compared to control group. </p></section><section class="article-section__content"><h3 class="article-section__sub-title section1"> Conclusion</h3><p>microneedling with a depth of 0.6 mm in combination with minoxidil is more effective than minoxidil monotherapy in patients with AGA in terms of hair count and hair thickness. This depth of penetration tended to be more beneficial than depth of 1.2 mm.</p></section>

Abstract:Alopecia is the most common and difficult-to-treat hair disorder. It usually brings a significant psychological burden to the patients. With the growing popularity of alopecia, the study of alopecia has gained more attention. Currently, only minoxidil and finasteride have been approved by the FDA for the treatment of alopecia, but the efficacy has always been unsatisfactory. As a new form of transdermal drug delivery, microneedles have been widely used in the treatment of alopecia and have proven to be effective. Microneedles delivery can improve the efficiency of local drug delivery and patients' compliance, which can achieve better therapeutic effects on hair-related diseases. Therefore, microneedles have gained much attention in the field of alopecia and hair regrowth promotion in recent years. This review summarizes the last decade of research on the microneedles delivery design for the treatment of alopecia or promotion of hair regrowth and provides a comprehensive evaluation of this field.

Comparison of Microneedling with Platelet Rich Plasma vs Minoxidil (5%)+Finasteride (0.1%) Topical Therapy in Androgenetic Alopecia: A Randomised Clinical Study

Abstract:Introduction: Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) is a progressive loss of hair in a patterned distribution for which treatment selection is limited. Long-term efficacy, safety, cost leads to low compliance rate. Among various treatment modalities (medical and surgical) available, microneedling and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) are emerging as a newer, useful and safe non surgical treatment regime. Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of microneedling with PRP versus minoxidil (5%) + finasteride (0.1%) topical therapy in AGA. Materials and Methods: This randomised controlled trial was done at Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology (DVL), Hind Institute of Medical Sciences, Safedabad, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, India, from November 2021 to November 2022. Total of 60 adult males clinically diagnosed with AGA were enrolled and randomised into group 1 and group 2. Subjects in group 1 were treated with microneedling+PRP and group 2 were advised minoxidil+finasteride topical therapy. Microneedling alongwith intradermal injection of autologous PRP was done every month for four consecutive months in group 1 (n=30) while 1 mL of minoxidil (5%)+finasteride (0.1%) lotion was advised to be applied over dry scalp twice daily for four months in group 2 (n=30) patients. Both groups were followed for next two months. Hair density was assessed by Hamilton Norwood Scale using photographic and dermoscopic images and patient’s self-assessment scores. Data assessment was done by Chi-square test. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26.0 was used to analyse data and p-value for significance was established at 0.05), however onset of action was quicker in group 1. Investigator assessment on improvement in hair density using Hamilton Norwood Scale at three months (p-value=0.920) and six months (p-value=0.995) showed that microneedling+PRP therapy is as effective as minoxidil+finasteride lotion since the difference between results of both groups was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Microneedling and PRP although safe, effective and promising treatment modality in AGA is comparable to minoxidil+finasteride topical therapy.
Radiofrequency Microneedling: A Comprehensive and Critical Review

Abstract:Background: Many studies have evaluated radiofrequency microneedling (RFMN) in various dermatologic conditions. However, the efficacy and safety of RFMN, and how it compares with other energy-based devices in a clinician's armamentarium, remains unclear. Objective: To review higher-quality evidence supporting RFMN and the dermatologic conditions which it can be used in. Materials and methods: A search was conducted in MEDLINE and EMBASE from inception to May 13, 2020, using the terms: "radiofrequency microneedling" OR "fractional radiofrequency" OR "radiofrequency needling" OR "radiofrequency percutaneous collagen induction." Only randomized, split body or blinded studies with original data on humans were included. Non-English or non-dermatology-related studies were excluded. Results: Forty-two higher-quality studies were included after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria. There were 14 studies for skin rejuvenation, 7 for acne scars, 6 for acne vulgaris, 5 each for striae and axillary hyperhidrosis, 2 for melasma, and 1 each for rosacea, cellulite, and androgenetic alopecia. Conclusion: Radiofrequency microneedling is an effective intervention that can be used repeatedly and safely in combination with other treatment modalities and in individuals with darker skin phototypes. Radiofrequency microneedling-induced dermal remodeling and neocollagenesis are slow and progressive but continue to improve even 6 months after treatment.
Preliminary results of the use of scalp microneedling in different types of alopecia

Abstract:<h3 class="article-section__sub-title section1"> Background</h3><p>Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is the result of progressive patterned hair density reduction and sometimes can be associated with telogen effluvium (TE). The efficacy of conventional therapy is variable, and therefore, there is a need for adjuvant and newer modalities of treatment in order to give faster and better outcomes. Microneedling has been reported to be a promising, effective, and safe new technique in the treatment of AGA.</p><h3 class="article-section__sub-title section1"> Objective</h3><p>The aim of this study was to prove that microneedling procedure should be offered to patients with AGA and TE along with the existing therapeutic modalities, in order to obtain faster hair regrowth and, therefore, a better patient compliance.</p><h3 class="article-section__sub-title section1"> Patients and methods</h3><p>We collected data of 36 females, 29 with AGA, and 7 with TE, and 14 males with AGA between January 2017 and December 2018 and then treated with 3 session of microneedling over a total period of 6 months.</p><h3 class="article-section__sub-title section1"> Results</h3><p>No serious adverse side effects were reported. All the patients reported a partial or complete reduction in hair loss, associated to the perception of improvement of hair density and thickening of the hair shaft diameter, results confirmed by clinical iconography and trichoscopy.</p><h3 class="article-section__sub-title section1"> Conclusions</h3><p>Scalp areas typical affected by AGA, that is, the vertex in males and the frontal area in females, are the ones that showed the greater percentage of improvement. Moreover, microneedling can have a role also in TE, especially when cosmetic procedures do not give enough results, because it induces a rapid arresting of the hair loss.</p>

Effect of Microneedle on Hair Regrowth in Patients with Androgenetic Alopecia: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

Abstract:Abstract Objective Our objective was to assess the effectiveness and safety of microneedle by comparing microneedle plus 5% topical minoxidil treatment and microneedle alone to 5% topical minoxidil. Methods We searched databases such as Embase, PubMed, Cochrane library, VIP Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals, Wanfang, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure in relation to literature. The control group received 5% topical minoxidil solution, whereas the treatment group received either microneedle coupled with minoxidil or microneedle alone. The increase in hair count and hair diameter was the main evaluation criterion for assessing hair regrowth. Data were pooled with Stata 15 software. Results Eight studies with 472 participants were included. Compared with 5% topical minoxidil therapy, microneedle plus minoxidil treatment showed a significant increase in hair count (standard mean difference [SMD] :15.82, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 12.34, 19.31, p 0.05). The results of subgroup analysis suggested that microneedle plus minoxidil treatment showed a significant increase in hair count whether the depth of microneedle was less than 1 mm (SMD:1.16, 95% CI: 0.86, 1.42, p < 0.05) or more than 1 mm (SMD:0.52, 95% CI: 0.23, 0.82, p < 0.05). In terms of treatment period subgroup, microneedle combined with minoxidil therapy significantly increased hair count and hair diameter than single 5% topical minoxidil, whether in 12-week period (SMD: 1.08, 95% CI: 0.76, 1.39, p < 0.05) or 21 to 24 weeks period (SMD: 0.64: 95%, CI: 0.35, 0.92, p < 0.05). Conclusion According to this study, the effect of microneedle treatment alone on androgenetic alopecia (AGA) may be limited. However, microneedle plus 5% topical minoxidil treatment had better hair regrowth in hair count and can be considered as an additional therapy option for AGA. Combined with subgroup analysis results, 12-week period and less than 1 mm depth of microneedle penetration were recommended.

Abstract:This literature review was designed to investigate the effects of the microneedle therapy system (MTS) on alopecia in experimental, and clinical studies. The MTS is acupuncture needling therapy delivered by a roller. A literature review of studies published before May 2020 was conducted using 9 online databases, and a total of 13 studies (4 in vivo studies and 9 clinical trials) were included. Most studies showed that the MTS was effective when used in combination with other treatments. In vivo studies reported an increased level of hair growth factors following treatment. Typically, 1.5 mm needles were used in the MTS treatment and photographic evaluation (by either camera or microscope) was reported in most studies. Oriental medicine research included 2 in vivo studies, which reported positive effects when combined with the MTS. There were no reported severe side effects. the MTS might be safe and has a drug delivery effect. Further studies need to be conducted regarding the frequency and needle length depending on the type of alopecia using Oriental and Western medicine.

Abstract:Objective In this study, the safety and efficacy of scalp repair serum microneedles combined with oral drug administration and topical medication were investigated for the treatment of moderate to severe androgenetic alopecia. Methods Twenty patients, consisting of 4 males and 16 females, who sought treatment for moderate to severe androgenetic alopecia at our hair medicine research center alopecia specialty clinic between August and December 2022 were randomly selected for the study. Male patients underwent oral administration of finasteride topical application of 5% minoxidil, and biweekly scalp repair serum microneedle therapy. Female patients were administered spironolactone or Diane‐35 orally and applied 2% minoxidil topically, paired with biweekly scalp repair serum microneedle therapy sessions. After seven treatments, the scalp repair serum microneedle was discontinued, but oral administration and topical applications were continued, followed by a 1‐month follow‐up. Using a hair dermoscopy, hair follicles in a fixed region on the top of the head were manually counted per unit area to evaluate the hair restoration status of the patients quantitatively. Results All 20 patients completed 3 months of combined therapy and a 1‐month follow‐up. On average, the patients experienced an increase of 42.6 hairs, with an efficiency rate of 100%. Abstract:Background: Androgenetic alopecia is the most common cause of hair loss that affects over 50% of the world population. It is a condition that is multifactorial in origin, with no specific causative factor, making treatment an enervating experience for the patient as well as the doctor. In recent times, a number of modalities have been introduced for the treatment of alopecia. However, the evidence supporting them is unstructured and sparse. Therefore, this article aims to explore the current trends in minimally invasive treatments for the management of androgenetic alopecia. Methods: An in-depth literature search on injectables used in the treatment of alopecia in PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, PsycINFO, TRIP Cochrane Library, and Cochrane Skin databases between January 2000 and May 2023 was performed. The studies included were randomized controlled trials, non-randomized trials, quasi trials, single arm interventions, and cohort studies. Results: Sixteen of the 1071 studies that were found during the original search were accepted in accordance with the inclusion criteria. Twelve studies assessed the effectiveness of the injectable group by comparing it to a control group consisting of saline, distilled water, and topical minoxidil. In the treatment of alopecia, dutasteride and injectable growth factor formulations achieved clinically significant results. Conclusion: The usage of injectables and topical medicines to treat hair loss has increased in the recent years. Overall results from clinical investigations, pilot studies, and trials looking at the efficacy and safety of these growth factors in the AGA show satisfactory efficacy.
Safety and efficacy of microneedling technology in the treatment of acne scars

Abstract:BackgroundCurrent options for the reduction of acne scarring (eg, ablative laser resurfacing) are associated with considerable side effects and limitations in terms of patient population. Percutaneous collagen induction via microneedling poses an alternative treatment method due to its low rates of reported adverse events and side effects. ObjectiveTo assess the safety and effectiveness of microneedling treatments in reducing acne scars. MethodsA total of 22 patients (18 females and 4 males) with a mean age of 38 ± 7.6 years were assessed regarding the appearance of facial acne scarring. Acne scars were assessed via the Acne Scar Assessment Scale (ASAS) and the Goodman and Baron acne scar grading scale before and after two/three treatments. Additionally, the post-interventional development of side reactions, adverse events, and patient-reported outcomes (eg, pain/discomfort, skin redness) was reported. ResultsCompared to baseline, the mean ASAS value was improved statistically significantly on average by 1.41 and 1.46 after the second treatment as assessed by the independent raters and the patients, respectively. In patients who received a total of three treatments, a statistically significant mean improvement in ASAS value of 1.35 and 1.66 compared to baseline was assessed by the independent raters and patients, respectively. No unexpected adverse events were reported. The severity and rate of side reactions decreased over the course of this study. ConclusionMicroneedling treatments can pose a safe and effective option in the reduction of acne scarring. In this study, microneedling helped achieving a significant reduction of acne scars while showing high patient safety.

Background:Vitiligo is characterized by the emergence of depigmented patches on the skin, posing significant therapeutic challenges. Microneedling, a novel treatment strategy, capitalizes on its potential to invigorate skin regeneration and facilitate melanocyte migration.Objective:This review critically evaluates the efficacy, safety, and patient satisfaction associated with microneedling for vitiligo treatment, juxtaposing it with traditional therapies to elucidate its viability as either a standalone or complementary treatment modality.Methods:A comprehensive literature review was conducted across major databases, including PubMed and Cochrane Library, using keywords like "microneedling" and "vitiligo," encompassing studies up to January 2024. This review focused on microneedling's effectiveness, safety, and patient satisfaction, including both solo and combined treatments. Data synthesis emphasized repigmentation rates, side effects, and patient feedback.Review:An exhaustive review of studies pertaining to microneedling for vitiligo, especially focusing on outcomes when administered alone or in conjunction with agents such as tacrolimus and 5-fluorouracil, was undertaken. Key evaluation metrics included repigmentation success rates, adverse effects, and patient-reported outcomes.Safety and Side Effects:Microneedling demonstrates a favourable safety profile, with mild and manageable side effects such as pain, erythema, and temporary hyperpigmentation. Severe adverse events are rare, further supporting its safety as a treatment option for vitiligo.Discussion:The evidence amassed suggests that microneedling significantly augments repigmentation rates, particularly in synergy with topical treatments. It is generally well-tolerated, manifests minimal adverse effects, and has garnered high patient satisfaction levels. Nonetheless, the absence of standardized treatment protocols and paucity of long-term efficacy data underscore the imperative for further empirical inquiry.Conclusion:Microneedling emerges as a propitious treatment alternative for vitiligo, demonstrating both safety and efficacy, notably when used in tandem with topical agents. Future investigations should aim at protocol standardization and long-term efficacy evaluation to firmly establish its therapeutic stature within vitiligo management paradigms.
