Abstract:Pediatric endodontics has become popular due to advancements in cleaning, shaping and irrigation systems, resulting in faster and effective removal of infected pulp, saving time, and creating a pathogen-free environment. The patented rotary file system, Kedo-S, designed for primary teeth, introduced a single file generation for efficient pulp therapy. However, there are currently no studies assessing canal preparation in primary mandibular molars using nano-CT (computed Tomography). To evaluate the volumetric changes of two recently introduced pediatric rotary file systems in comparison with conventional hand file systems in primary mandibular molar using an ultra-high resolution nano-CT. This <i>in-vitro</i> study was performed in extracted primary mandibular molar based on certain inclusion and exclusion criteria. Samples were prepared and working length was determined before the pre-operative scan using a high resolution nano-CT device (SkyScan 2214, Bruker, Kontich, Belgium). A single well-experienced pediatric dentist prepared the canals using three file systems: Kedo-S plus, Kedo-SG blue and Hand K-files. A post-operative scan was performed similar to pre-operative scan. Image reconstruction was performed with NRecon software for 3D volumetric visualization and analysis of the root canals. Kedo-SG blue file systems had the highest mean difference in the canal volume (8.85%). Hand K-files had the least difference at (1.24%) of canal volume. Kedo-S plus file system had a mean canal volume difference (6.14%) which is closer to hand K-files. Rotary file systems resulted in a significant enlargement of canals compared to hand files.

Conclusion Rotary file systems, especially Kedo S plus, resulted in increased canal volume and surface area with minimal uninstrumented areas, showing promise for primary dentition root canal preparations. Further clinical assessments are warranted to validate these findings.
Comparative evaluation of remaining dentin thickness using single file, two file, and multiple rotary file system - An in vitro CBCT study

Abstract:Context: Endodontic success hinges on a multifactorial interplay, with meticulous canal shaping, proper disinfection, and three-dimensional obturation being paramount. Among these factors, the amount of dentin remaining after instrumentation directly influences the biomechanical resilience and longevity of the tooth. Aims: This study aims to evaluate the impact of various rotary instrumentation systems, including single-file, two-file, and multiple-file configurations, on the remaining dentin thickness (RDT) following canal preparation. Settings and design: This was an in vitro study, original research article. Materials and methods: Sixty mandibular premolar human extracted teeth were decoronated at the cementoenamel junction with a diamond disc. Samples were randomly assigned to three groups using a simple random sampling technique (n = 60). Group I - Single-file system (One Curve, MicroMega) (n = 20), Group II - Two-file systems (2Shape, MicroMega) (n = 20), and Group III - Multiple-file system (Hero Gold, MicroMega) (n = 20). Preoperative cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans were obtained after the sample was mounted on a modeling wax sheet. The biomechanical preparation of canals followed the manufacturer's protocols for every system. Postoperative CBCT scans were obtained. Pre- and postoperative scans were compared at standardized depths (4 mm, 7 mm, and 11 mm) within the canals (coronal, middle, and apical thirds), allowing for a comprehensive assessment of RDT throughout the canal. Statistical analysis and results: According to one-way ANOVA, the highest mean was seen in Group I, followed by Group II and Group III. Hence, a statistically significant difference was found between all the groups. Post hoc Tukey's test was done for intergroup comparison. Conclusions: A single-file system preserved more dentin with less aggressive cutting compared to two-file and multiple-file systems.
A Comparative Evaluation of the Efficiencies of Different Rotary File Systems in Terms of Remaining Dentin Thickness Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography: An In Vitro Study

Abstract:Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the dentin thickness of the mesio-buccal canal of the lower first molar after canal preparation with three different rotary file systems using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methodology: TruNatomy (Dentsply Sirona, USA), 2Shape (Micro-Mega, France), and One Curve (Micro-Mega, France) were the three different rotary files that were employed. A total of 45 excised human permanent first mandibular molars were divided into Groups A (TruNatomy), B (2Shape), and C (One Curve) at random. To measure the residual dentin thickness at 3 mm, 5 mm, and 7 mm from the radiographic apex, the mesial root of the tooth was removed from the tooth, and a mesio-buccal canal was taken. Samples were mounted in clear acrylic resin and were subjected to a pre-instrumentation CBCT scan. The mesio-buccal canal was cleaned and shaped while maintaining the final mesio-buccal canal preparation of Group A - 26/0.04, Group B - 25/0.04, and Group C - 25/0.04. The samples were extensively irrigated with 3% sodium hypochlorite and 17% EDTA, and a post-instrumentation scan was performed on them. Statistics were used to determine the values from CBCT scans that were recorded for pre- and post-instrumentations. Results: The results showed that Group A had the greatest drop in dentin thickness, followed by Group B and Group C. The change in dentin thickness was greatest at 3 mm and 7 mm. Conclusion: In contrast to TruNatomy and 2Shape rotary file systems, One Curve has the advantage of maintaining a tooth's thickness at 3 and 7 millimeters from the radiological apex. Since the TruNatomy file system removes more dentin than the other two combined, it should be used cautiously. Choosing the right instrument is crucial for cleaning and shaping during root canal preparation.
Comparative Evaluation of Debris Expulsion Beyond Apex During Re-root Canal Treatment by Utilizing Two Re-treatment Rotary Files and Two Reciprocating Files: An In-Vitro Study

Abstract:Aim: This study aimed to assess and compare debris quality expelled beyond the apex during re-treatment using two reciprocating and two re-treatment rotary files. Materials and methods: A total of 80 healthy human mandibular premolars excised for orthodontic therapy were selected. Distilled water was used to sterilize the teeth before they were preserved. The canals were widened and coronal access was created so that the F2 ProTaper universal system could be used. For the obturation, we utilized gutta-percha cones and AH plus sealant. All samples were cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) recorded. Teeth were separated into four groups (n=20); Group 1: ProTaper re-treatment, Group 2: Mtwo re-treatment, Group 3: WaveOne gold, and Group 4: Reciproc. The re-instrumented process included collecting the extruded debris in Eppendorf tubes and then drying it off by evaporating the distilled water. The weight of the tube with debris was subtracted from the weight of the tube without debris to get the dry debris weight. Post-retreatment CBCT was recorded for all samples. Mean apical debris extrusion values were obtained, after which necessary statistical analysis was obtained using SPSS Statistics, version 21 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY) to obtain the results. A one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the student t-test were utilized for statistical analysis to compare the different experimental groups. Post-hoc Bonferroni tests were used to compare several groups. Result: No statistical difference (p>0.05) was identified in the filler material that was left over across all groups. The reciprocating files discharged more material compared with re-treatment file systems. Conclusion: The Reciproc files expelled more waste than WaveOne gold, ProTaper re-treatment, and Mtwo re-treatment file systems. Reciprocating file systems showed better cleaning efficiency compared to the re-treatment file systems.

Abstract:Objective: Pulpectomy is the conservative treatment approach that retains and preserves the primary tooth in the dental arch in its normal function and non-pathologic state until its exfoliation. Over the years, pulpectomy has been performed using various instrumentation techniques. The aim of this study was to compare the quality of root filing and instrumentation time using Kedo-S files, Reciprocating files and K-files in primary teeth. Material And Methods: A randomized clinical trial was performed on 45 primary molars equally distributed for instrumentation with Kedo-S files, reciprocating files and K-Files. Immediate post-operative digital radiographs were taken to evaluate the quality of root filing and root canal instrumentation time was also recorded. Results: Mean instrumentation time with Kedo-S was 75.6 seconds, reciprocating file was 190.6 seconds and K-file was 95.4 seconds. Highest optimal fill was obtained with Kedo-S file group, highest overfill was obtained with Kedo-S group and highest under fill was obtained with reciprocating file group. Conclusion: Kedo-S rotary system provides better quality of root canal filling in minimum instrumentation time.KEYWORDS Pulpectomy; Primary teeth; Root canal filling; Rotary files.
Modeling and verifying the Ariadne protocol using process algebra

Abstract:Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are formed dynamically by mobile nodes without the support of prior stationary infrastructures. In such networks, routing protocols, particularly secure ones are always the essential parts. Ariadne, an efficient and well-known on-demand secure protocol of MANETs, mainly concerns about how to prevent a malicious node from compromising the route. In this paper, we apply the method of process algebra Communicating Sequential Processes (CSP) to model and reason about the Ariadne protocol, focusing on the process of its route discovery. In our framework, we consider the communication entities as CSP processes, including the initiator, the intermediate nodes and the target. Moreover, we also propose an intruder model allowing the intruder to learn and deduce much information from the protocol and the environment. Note that the modeling approach is also applicable to other protocols, which are based on the on-demand routing protocols and have the route discovery process. Finally, we use PAT, a model checker for CSP, to verify whether the model caters for the specification and the non-trivial secure properties, e.g. nonexistence of fake path. Three case studies are given and the verification results naturally demonstrate that the fake routing attacks may be present in the Ariadne protocol.

Advancing technology in pediatric dentistry should be used for the better treatment protocol. Aim: The aim of this study is to compare the obturation quality and instrumentation time after root canal instrumentation with rotary Kedo-S files, hand K-files, and H-files in primary molars. Materials and Methods: A randomized control trial where pulpectomy was performed on 75 primary molars equally distributed for instrumentation with K-file, H-files rotary Kedo-S files, respectively. The instrumentation time and obturation quality were noted. Results: Kedo-S files showed the least instrumentation time with better obturation quality as compared to other two groups (P < 0.001). Conclusion: Pediatric rotary files Kedo-S has better obturation quality in minimum instrumentation time.

Effect of Different Preparation Techniques on Root Canal Geometry: An In Vitro Study

Abstract:Aim and objective: To compare and evaluate canal preparation using hand stainless steel files, hand ProTaper files, and rotary ProTaper files for change in root canal geometry in terms of surface area and volume changes assessed by computed tomography. Materials and methods: The present study was conducted in Nair Hospital and Dental College, Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry in collaboration with insight CBCT, imaging technologies. A total of 36 extracted human primary mandibular second molars were collected from the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry. All the teeth were scanned using cone-beam CT (i-CAT CT Scanner Next Generation, Imaging Sciences International) preoperatively and postoperatively to assess the mean absolute change in surface area and mean change in the volume of all the canals at different levels with the use of hand stainless steel files, hand ProTaper and rotary ProTaper files. Results: ProTaper instruments, both hand ProTaper and rotary ProTaper caused significant changes in the surface area in the coronal thirds and middle thirds of the canal when compared to hand stainless steel files. No difference was found in surface area and volume changes between hand ProTaper and rotary ProTaper instrumentation. Conclusion: Use of ProTaper instruments for preparation of deciduous teeth can render benefit of an improved canal preparation to facilitate better obturation and successful root canal therapy. Abstract:AimThis was to compare and evaluate the instrumentation time and quality of obturation between paediatric rotary file (Kedo-S) and manual instrumentation techniques in primary molars.MethodsA double blinded randomised control trial was performed that included mandibular primary molars in children of age 4–7 years with pulp necrosis. Sixty primary mandibular molars were randomly divided into two groups: 30 were instrumented with paediatric rotary files Kedo-S (experimental group) and 30 with hand K-files (control group). During the preparation of the primary root canals the instrumentation time was recorded in seconds. The quality of obturation was recorded as optimal, under filled or over filled using immediate post-operative radiographs. The instrumentation time and quality of obturation were analysed using independent t-test and Chi-square test.ResultsMean instrumentation time with paediatric rotary files Kedo-S (78.53 s) was significantly less than K-files (95.46 s) (p < 0.05). There was a significant improvement in the quality of obturation (p < 0.05) with paediatric rotary files (Kedo-S).ConclusionClinical use of paediatric rotary files Kedo-S was effective during root canal preparation of primary teeth with reduction in instrumentation time and better quality of obturation.
Evaluation of the Smear Layer Removal Ability of Various Rotary Files with/without Chemical Agents on Primary Teeth: An In Vitro Study

Abstract:Aim: The aim of the current study was to assess the cleaning and smear layer removal efficacy of two different rotary files with or without chemical agents on primary teeth. Materials and methods: For the study, 90 extracted primary maxillary incisors without internal or external resorption and with at least two-thirds of complete roots were chosen. Then, based on the kind of instruments used to clean and shape the canals, they were randomly assigned to three experimental groups, each consisting of 30 teeth. Group-I: The canal was instrumented manually with K-files, Group-II: The canal was instrumented with Kedo-S files, Group-III: The canal was instrumented with Kedo-SG Blue files. After the canals were finally instrumented, 2 mL of QMixTM solution was used to irrigate 15 samples from each group. The samples were subsequently allowed to remain in the canals for 90 seconds in order to eliminate the smear layer. After that a stereomicroscope was used to assess the cleaning effectiveness. Results: With irrigant solution, the highest mean value was found in manual K-files (2.86 ± 0.34), followed by Kedo-S files group (1.34 ± 0.26) and Kedo-SG Blue files (1.28 ± 0.18). Without irrigant solution, the highest mean value was found in manual K-files (2.92 ± 0.22) followed by Kedo-S files group (1.44 ± 0.18) and Kedo-SG Blue files (1.36 ± 0.14). There was a statistically significant difference found at all the three levels. Conclusion: On conclusion, the current study's findings demonstrated that irrigation solution was significantly more effective in cleaning and removing smear layers from pediatric rotary files than manual K-files. Clinical significance: The effectiveness of endodontic therapy depends on a successful chemomechanical preparation. The canals are instrumented using either hand files or rotary instruments; there are several irrigation and instrumentation techniques. In order to completely sterilize the canals, chemical agents are utilized for irrigation during instrumentation. Removal of nutrient and bacteria in pilot-scale constructed wetlands

Abstract:Three pilot-scale horizontal-subsurface flow (H-SSF), surface flow (SF), and free water surface flow (FWS) constructed wetland system designs were installed and evaluated to determine the effectiveness of constructed wetlands to treat tertiary effluent wastewater generated from Paşaköy Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant (PABWWTP). The average ammonia-nitrogen (NH+ 4) removal efficiencies of % 49 to 52% were observed in all three system designs. Average NO− 3 removal efficiency was approximately 58% in the SF system design, suggesting that this design had the highest denitrification rate. Total phosphorus (TP) removal efficiency was the highest (approximately 60%) in the h-SSF system, possibly due to substrate (gravel). Systems were capable of removing approximately 94% of fecal coliform (FC) bacteria. Removal rate coefficients (k 20, 1/day) in the H-SSF, the FWS and the SF systems were estimated for NH+ 4, NO− 3, TP and FC. The average nutrient removal efficiencies were found higher in the summer periods except for the FC. The results of statistical analyses indicated that nutrient removals were affected by temperature, hydraulic residence time (HRT), and nitrogen loading rate (NLR).
Comparative Evaluation of the Efficacy of ProTaper & Mtwo Rotary Retreatment System and Conventional Hand H-files for Removal of Gutta-percha from Root Canal - A Stereomicroscopic Study

Abstract:Background: Root canal retreatment aims to eliminate or substantially reduce the microbial load from the root canal and removal of previous root filling materials is the primary goal of nonsurgical retreatment. Aim: To comparatively evaluate the effectiveness of ProTaper retreatment files, Mtwo retreatment files, and Hedstrom files along with Gates Glidden (GG) Drill by using a stereomicroscope for the detection of remaining gutta-percha after root canal retreatment using a stereomicroscope. Materials and methods: Forty-five test samples were divided into three experimental groups (15 samples each), such as Group A-ProTaper retreatment files; Group B-Mtwo retreatment files; Group C-Hedstrom files along with Gates Glidden Drill. After routine endodontic treatment in the test samples, gutta-percha was removed from the test samples as per the division of different retreatment file systems. Further, test samples were divided longitudinally and were evaluated under the stereomicroscope. Stereomicroscopic images were captured and analysed under Image Analyser Software-Image J. Statistical analysis: One-way ANOVA test was used for comparison of gutta-percha removal between the groups and Tukey's post hoc test was used for pairwise comparisons. Results: The least remaining filling material was seen in specimens retreated with the ProTaper universal system. The highest remaining filling material was seen in specimens retreated with Hedstrom file with Gates Glidden Drill. Conclusion: All experimental test techniques left gutta-percha remnants within the root canal. ProTaper universal rotary retreatment system proved to be an efficient method of removing gutta-percha and left relatively less volume in comparison with other test systems.

Abstract:Aim: An assessment and comparison of three retreatment files was conducted to determine their effectiveness in the retrieval of gutta-percha. Materials and Method: In the investigation, 60 extracted single-rooted human teeth having straight canals and complete apices were used. The ProTaper Universal file system was used to prepare teeth and obturated using gutta-percha with sealant AH Plus utilizing down pack and backfill obturation technique. Removal was performed with ProTaper, D-RaCe files, MTwo, and R-Endo retreatment files. Using a stopwatch, the time needed to take out the GP was also calculated in seconds. We used ANOVA along with the post hoc Tukey’s test to analyze the quantity of obturating material in apical, middle, and coronal third following decoronation and longitudinal splitting. Results: The average percentage of gutta-percha points removed across root levels varied significantly among the ProTaper, D-RaCe MTwo, and R-Endo groups. With the exception of the ProTaper group, when the middle level displayed the most removal, the coronal level showed much higher removal than the mid-root level, while the apical level often exhibited the highest removal. Conclusion: ProTaper retreatment files outperformed MTwo, D-RaCe, and R-Endo among the four groups in terms of removing root canal filling material. However, none of the experimental groups removed gutta-percha completely from root canals.

Abstract:During the fall of 1985, 4 Angora goats, from a herd of 40, were examined on a farm in central Michigan. Affected goats were alert but had neurologic deficits consistent with upper and lower moto neuron involvement. Eosinophilic pleocytosis in a cerebrospinal fluid sample from one goat was consistent with cerebrospinal nematodiasis. Parelaphostrongylosis was confirmed in 3 goats by identification of Parelaphostrongylosis tenuis larvae in spinal cord sections. Ivermectin may have influenced the herd's susceptibility to new parasitic infections. Control of parelaphostrongylosis probably is best achieved by removal of susceptible animals from treed swamps coinhabited by white-tailed deer from late summer until after the first killing frost.
In vitro investigation of the cleaning efficacy, shaping ability, preparation time and file deformation of continuous rotary, reciprocating rotary and manual instrumentations in primary molars

Abstract:Background. Efficient canal preparation is the key to successful root canal treatment. This study aimed to assess the cleaning and shaping ability, preparation time and file deformation of rotary, reciprocating and manual instrumentation in canal preparation of primary molars. Methods. The mesiobuccal canals of 64 extracted primary mandibular second molars were injected with India ink. The samples were randomly divided into one control and three experimental groups. Experimental groups were instrumented with K-file, Mtwo in continuous rotation and Reciproc in reciprocating motion, respectively. The control group received no treatment. The files were discarded after four applications. Shaping ability was evaluated using CBCT. After clearing, ink removal was scored. Preparation time and file fracture or deformation was also recorded. Data were analyzed with SPSS 19 using chi-squared, Fisher's exact test, Kruskal-Wallis and post hoc tests at a significance level of 0.05. Results. Considering cleanliness, at coronal third Reciproc was better than K-file (P < 0.001), but not more effective than Mtwo (P = 0.080). Furthermore, Mtwo leaved the canal cleaner than K-file (P = 0.001). In the middle third, only Reciproc exhibited better cleaning efficacy than K-file (P = 0.005). In the apical third, no difference was detected between the groups (P = 0.794). Regarding shaping ability, no differences were found between Reciproc and Mtwo (P = 1.00). Meanwhile, both displayed better shaping efficacy than K-file (P < 0.05). Between each two groups, there were differences in preparation time (P < 0.05), with Reciproc being the fastest. No file failure occurred. Conclusion. Fast and sufficient cleaning and shaping could be achieved with Mtwo and especially with Reciproc.
ASSESSMENT OF THREE HEAT TREATED SINGLE FILE SYSTEMS IN GUTTA-PERCHA REMOVAL USING CONE BEAM COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (AN IN VITRO STUDY)

Abstract:Background: Absolute removal of the defective root filling material and regaining apical patency is the primary factor of endodontic retreatment success. Aim of the study: Assessment of the ability of Reciproc R25 (VDW, Munich, Germany), Reciproc blue(VDW, Munich, Germany)and the XP-endo shaper (FKG Dentaire, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland) thermally treated rotary files in removing of the root filling material from oval shaped canals using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT).Materials and Methods: Thirty six extracted single canaled human mandibular premolar teeth were prepared chemo-mechanically using Revo-S rotary file system(Micro-Mega, France) and obturated. The teeth were randomly allocated into three groups (N=12 each) depending on files used in retreatment procedure as follow: Group I: Reciproc R25, Group II: Reciproc blue, Group III: XP-endo shaper. Pre and post retreatment scans were done using CBCT to calculate the volume of the remaining gutta percha by using computer software(Osirix lite). Time consumed by each file was recoded until gutta percha was completely removed. Results: All used files were not able to remove the entire root filling material from the canals. No statically significant differences (P> 0.05) in residual gutta percha were detected between the groups, the percentage of reduction was 88.87 % in (Group Ⅰ), 92.22 % in (Group Ⅱ), and 88.60 % in (Group Ⅲ). The XP-endo shaper required more time with statically significant difference than the Reciproc groups in gutta percha removal.
Instrumentation time and effectiveness of hand and rotary files in a prototyped second mandibular primary molar: A micro-CT study

Abstract:Background: Eccentric instruments have been proposed as more effective and less time-consuming for endodontic instrumentation. Aim: To compare biomechanical outcomes of different instrumentation systems and time undertaken for instrumentation in resin prototypes. Design: Sixty standardized prototypes of mandibular second primary molars were instrumented according to the following systems: K-files, ProTaper Next (PTN), XP-endo Shaper (XPS), XP-endo Finisher (XPF), XP-Clean (XPC), and Sequence Baby File (SBF; n = 10/each). Irrigation was performed with saline with simultaneous aspiration, and time spent was recorded. The prototypes were micro-CT-scanned before and after the instrumentation, and image sets were reconstructed and registered. Non-instrumented areas, accumulated debris, removed root material volume, and canal transportation were quantified. Data were analyzed through ANOVA, the Kruskal-Wallis test, and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test (α = 5%). Results: K-files and SBF resulted in more instrumentation time (p < .05). SBF, XPC and PTN removed less root dentine (p < .05), but PTN left more untouched areas (p < .05). Accumulated debris were lower for XPC and SBF (p < .05). Canal transportation was similar among the groups. Conclusion: Rotary systems reduced instrumentation time, whereas SBF and XPC resulted in more conservative instrumentation, with less debris accumulation and non-instrumented areas. A dedicated paediatric endodontic system (SBF) outperformed eccentric instruments in terms of effectiveness.
Comparative evaluation of hand and rotary file systems on dentinal microcrack formation during pulpectomy procedure in primary teeth: an in vitro study

Abstract:Purpose: Pulpectomy can be used for the management of deep dentinal carious lesions in primary teeth which can be restored. Mechanical preparation of root canals can be performed using hand or NiTi rotary files. However, this may cause dentinal stress and consequently dentinal microcracks. Hence, the aim was comparative evaluation of hand and rotary file systems on dentinal microcrack formation during pulpectomy procedure in primary teeth. Methods: 60 extracted primary molar teeth were selected comprising of 80 root canals. Simple random sampling was used to divide root canals into four groups (n = 20): Group A-Hedstrom file, Group B-Pro AF Baby Gold rotary, Group C-ProTaper Next rotary, and Group D-unprepared group. Assessment was conducted on presence or absence of microcracks using Chi square test (p < 0.05). Results: The total number of microcracks in Group A: one (5%), Group B: four (20%), Group C: nine (45%) and Group D: zero (0%) which was statistically significant (p = 0.002). At cervical third, the number of microcracks seen with Group A: one (5%), Group B: zero (0%), Group C: five (25%) and Group D: zero (0%) (p = 0.005). At the middle third, the number of microcracks seen in Group A: zero (0%), Group B: four (20%), Group C: four (20%) and Group D: zero (0%) (p = 0.029). Conclusion: The study concluded that dentinal microcracks are formed with both hand and rotary file systems in primary teeth. ProTaper Next showed significantly higher number of microcracks, followed by ProAF Baby Gold and H files.

Abstract:Background: In comparison to multiple file systems, recent advancements in single file retreatment systems had reduced the working time and ease of operation for clinicians.Aim: To compare the efficacy of retreatment systems compared with hand instrumentation, by evaluating their removal efficacy, time required for retreatment and assessment of canal transportation.Methods and Material: Forty premolars were instrumented using ProTaper Gold gold files. Post instrumentation, scan was taken, obturated using warm vertical compaction technique, and stored in artificial saliva for three months and randomly divided into four groups for retreatment. Hand instrumentation (Hi), Neoniti (Nn), Mtwo R (Mt), WaveOne Gold (Wg). Post retreatment, scan was taken. Teeth were sectioned longitudinally and photographed under the stereomicroscope. Retreatment time was recorded, and canal transportation was calculated.Statistical Analysis: The results were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Tukey's post hoc test at 95% confidence level.Results: The retreatment time was significantly longer in the Hi group. Within the test groups, a significantly longer time has been taken by Wg (p < 0.05) compared to Mt and Nn. There was no difference in the canal transportation between the single file systems at 3 mm, 6 mm and 9 mm from the apex, there was statistically significant higher transportation for the Hi group at 9 mm from the apex (p < 0.05).Conclusions: All techniques were effective in removal of filling material with minimal canal transportation. Wg system was shown to increased time compared to Nn and Mt systems. Hi group was slowest with maximum canal transportation at 9 mm from the apex.
