Abstract:It is urgent and crucial to develop highly efficient broadband Near-infrared (NIR) phosphor-converted light-emitting diodes (pc-LEDs) which are applied in tiny solid-state NIR light sources. However, a lot of NIR phosphors suffer from low quantum yield and poor thermal stability in recent years. Hereon, the solid-state reaction synthesis process was used to create a new garnet Ca2GdZr2Ga3O12:Cr3+ (CGZG:Cr3+) phosphor, which can produce a broad range emission peak at (12437 cm-1, 804nm) with a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of (67567cm-1, 148nm). At 373 °C, thermal stability was determined to be 76%, an IQE of 75% and an EQE of 26% was observed. When driving current at 150mA and 320mA, the device achieved the output power of 473mW and 968mW. The results demonstrate CGZG:Cr3+ phosphor-convert NIR LEDs have great potential for applications in night-vision and biomedical imaging NIR spectroscopy technology.

Broadband Ca3MgZrGe3O12:Cr3+ Garnet Phosphor for High-performance NIR pc-LED Application

Abstract:The near-infrared (NIR) phosphor-converted light-emitting diode (pc-LED) is heavily reliant upon the performance of NIR phosphors. However, the current NIR pc-LEDs suffer from low photoelectric efficiency and insufficient near-infrared output power. In this study, Cr3+ doped Ca3MgZrGe3O12 phosphors leading to high-performance NIR pc-LED were developed for the first time. It features a robust and wide NIR emission that extends over the spectrum from 650 to 1100 nm with a full width at half maximum of 120 nm, a high quantum yield of 82% and excellent thermal stability of T50%=250oC and I150oC=80% when excited at 460 nm. The NIR pc-LED was constructed by combining the Ca3MgZrGe3O12:0.04Cr3+ phosphor with a blue LED chip, resulting in a device that exhibits a photoelectric conversion efficiency of 20% and a near-infrared output power of 54.19 mW when operated at a current of 100 mA. The obtained luminous efficacy is superior to the vast majority of current broadband near-infrared pc-LEDs. In addition, this NIR pc-LED exhibiting strong penetration and the applications in bio-imagines are demonstrated. The results indicate that Ca3MgZrGe3O12:Cr3+ are efficient NIR broadband phosphors for NIR pc-LEDs.

A near-infrared phosphor doped with Cr3+ towards zero-thermal-quenching for high-power LEDs

Abstract:Cr3+-doped phosphors show significant application potential in near-infrared (NIR) light-emitting diodes (LEDs). However, the development of thermally stable and efficient NIR phosphors still faces enormous challenges. Herein, NIR phosphors K2NaMF6:Cr3+ (M3+ = Al3+, Ga3+, and In3+) were synthesized by the hydrothermal method. The represented K2NaAlF6:Cr3+ phosphor can be effectively excited by blue light (∼430 nm) to present broadband emission at half a maximum of 96 nm peaking at ∼ 728 nm. Meanwhile, the K2NaAlF6:Cr3+ phosphor exhibits excellent internal quantum efficiency (IQE = 68.08%) and nearly zero-thermal-quenching behavior, which is able to maintain 96.5% emission intensity at 150 °C of the initial value at 25 °C. The NIR phosphor-converted LED was fabricated based on K2NaAlF6:Cr3+ phosphor and a blue LED chip, showing a NIR output power of 394.39 mW at 300 mA with a high photoelectric conversion efficiency of 10.9% at 20 mA. Using the high-power NIR LED as a lighting source, transparent and quick veins imaging as well as non-destructive testing were demonstrated, suggesting the NIR phosphor has a wide range of practical applications.

Abstract:High-quantum efficiency (QE) and superior luminescence thermal stability NIR phosphors are indispensable for producing advanced NIR pc-LEDs. Despite this, the broadband NIR phosphor peaking around ~780 nm often falls short in performance. Our research focused on developing a series of CaY2ZrSc1-xAl3O12:xCr3+ (CYZS:xCr3+) NIR phosphors, where x ranges from 0.01 to 0.20 mol, through strategic chemical substitutions of [Ca2+–Zr4+–Sc3+] for [Y3+–Al3+–Al3+] in Y3Al5O12:Cr3+ (YAG:Cr3+). This modification yielded broadband NIR emissions centered at ~780 nm when stimulated with blue light. Remarkably, the optimized CYZS:0.08Cr3+ phosphor demonstrated exceptional QE values (IQE/EQE = 78.4%/31.6%), alongside outstanding thermal stability, maintaining around 84.3% of its original intensity at 423 K. Finally, we fabricated a high-performance NIR pc-LED device by combining CYZS:0.08Cr3+ with a blue LED chip (455 nm). The integrated NIR pc-LED boasts an impressive output power of 69.7 mW at 150 mA, along with a high photoelectric conversion efficiency of 22.2% when operating at 10 mA. Our findings indicate that CYZS:xCr3+ phosphors harbor promising applications in advancing NIR pc-LEDs.

Abstract:Near-infrared phosphor-converted light emitting diodes (NIR pc-LEDs) are considered as desirable NIR light sources to satisfy current needs owing to their numerous remarkable features. Nevertheless, as an essential component, previously reported NIR phosphors with broadband emission often suffer from inferior efficiency or thermal stability, therefore restricting their use and promotion. Herein, a novel Cr3+-doped garnet phosphor Y2CaScAl3GeO12:Cr3+ (YCSAG:Cr3+) is developed via regulating the near-neighbor coordination polyhedron. Under the excitation of blue light, it exhibits a broadband NIR emission peaking near 800 nm with a full width at half-maximum (fwhm) exceeding 150 nm, owing to the increased structural distortion of the octahedron. Particularly, due to the enhanced local structural rigidity induced by lattice shrinkage, the optimal sample achieves a balance of high internal quantum efficiency (IQE) of approximately 83% and thermal stability of approximately 90% at 393 K, facilitating its practical application as an NIR light source. Eventually, using the typical YCSAG:0.04Cr3+ phosphor and 450 nm blue LED chip, a high-performance NIR pc-LED device has been manufactured, demonstrating potential applications in anticounterfeiting and night vision.
High‐Performance Tunable Near‐Infrared Emitters of Cr3+‐Activated Garnet Phosphor Enabled by Chemical Unit Co‐Substitution

Abstract:Through a chemical unit co‐substitution strategy, the narowband‐emitting Lu3Ga5O12:6%Cr3+ is transformed into a broadband‐emitting Lu2CaGa4GeO12:6%Cr3+. Simultaneously, the internal quantum efficiency is increased to 80.7% while maintaining good thermal stability (I423 K = 80.4%). Ultimately, a prototype NIR pc‐LED with Lu2CaGa4GeO12:6%Cr3+ is fabricated and exhibited superior electro‐optical conversion efficiency (13.31%@100 mA). The escalating demand for portable near‐infrared (NIR) light sources has posed a formidable challenge to the development of NIR phosphors characterized by high efficiency and exceptional thermal stability. Taking inspiration from the chemical unit co‐substitution strategy, high‐performance tunable (Lu3‐xCax)(Ga5‐xGex)O12:6%Cr3+ (x = 0–3) phosphors are designed with an emission center from 704 to 780 nm and a broadest full width at half maximum (FWHM) of up to 172 nm by introducing Ca2+ and Ge4+ ions into the garnet structure. In particular, Lu3Ga5O12:6%Cr3+ demonstrates an anti‐thermal quenching phenomenon (I423K = 113.1%). Compared to Lu3Ga5O12:6%Cr3+, Lu2CaGa4GeO12:6%Cr3+ exhibits significantly improved FWHM and IQE by 108 nm and 25.5%, respectively, while maintaining good thermal stability (I423K = 80.4%). Finally, Lu2CaGa4GeO12:6%Cr3+ phosphor is combined with a 465 nm blue LED chip to fabricate NIR LED devices, exhibiting a NIR electroluminescence efficiency of 13.31%@100 mA and demonstrating successful applications in nocturnal illumination and biomedical imaging technology. This work offers a fresh perspective on the design of highly efficient NIR garnet phosphors.

Abstract:Abstract The burgeoning phosphor‐converted near‐infrared light‐emitting diodes (pc‐NIR LEDs) have important applications in special illumination and spectroscopy analysis. However, the development of efficient NIR‐emitting phosphors with high performance is still a challenge. In this work, a chemical unit co‐substitution strategy is proposed to realize the excitation transition regulation and successfully achieve high‐performance NIR luminescence in Ca 3‐ y Na y Mg 1‐ y Sb 2‐ x Al 2+ y O 12 : x Cr 3+ (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.05, 0 ≤ y ≤ 1) garnet‐type solid solution phosphors. Through the excitation transition modulation from the 4 A 2 ground state to the 4 T 1 ( 4 P) and 4 T 1 ( 4 F) excitation state, the excitation intensity at the blue light region is largely enhanced by 25.6 times. Moreover, the NIR‐emitting efficiency and thermal stability are improved, with the optimal luminescence internal quantum efficiency of 90.6% and thermal stability of 97%@423 K, without any flux‐assisted sintering or reduction atmosphere protection. The structure regulation induced small Stokes shift, weak electron‐phonon coupling effect, and decreased non‐radiative transition are responsible for the excellent NIR‐emitting performance. Finally, the NIR pc‐LED is fabricated with photoelectric efficiencies of 18.7%@100 mA and NIR output powers of 63 mW@100 mA, presenting potential applications in nondestructive internal defect detection, veins imaging, and night vision surveillance.
Luminescence enhancement of Cr3+ doped garnet phosphor for high-performance LED towards smart NIR light source

Abstract:Cr3+ doped phosphor shows great potential for near-infrared (NIR) light-emitting diodes (LED), but it suffers from low quantum efficiency and poor thermal stability. Herein, a novel Cr3+ doped broadband NIR garnet Ca3Sc2Ge3O12 phosphor was developed. The multisite structure of the emission band is investigated by site-selective spectroscopy and is attributed to the octahedral Cr3+ perturbed by defects. Moreover, we propose different strategies to enhance the luminescence of the phosphor, including enhancement of crystallinity and elimination of defects. Compared with the initial sample, the emission intensity of the optimized phosphor is improved for 8.6 times. The optimal Ca3Sc2Ge3O12: 0.06Cr3+ phosphor exhibits excellent thermal stability. At 423 K, the integral emission intensity of the optimal sample remains 94.7% of that at room temperature. Finally, high-performance NIR LED was fabricated using a blue LED and the title phosphor. The packaged LED lamp has high radiance (109.3 mW@300 mA) and photoelectric efficiency (15.96%@40 mA). Our study not only provides a boulevard for enhancing the luminescence of Cr doped NIR phosphor, but also gives a new perspective for understanding the multisite luminescence of Cr3+ in garnet host.

Abstract:Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy realized by an NIR phosphor-converted light-emitting diode (pc-LED) as a light source has aroused considerable interest due to its numerous merits and widespread application scenarios. Nevertheless, developing NIR emitting phosphors with high performance is still the top priority. Here, we report a new Y 2 GdSc 2 Al 2 GaO 12 :Cr 3+ (YGSAG:Cr 3+ ) garnet phosphor, which demonstrates a broadband emission peaking at 754 nm with a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of around 120 nm in the range of 650–1200 nm. The YGSAG:0.08Cr 3+ sample irradiated by blue light exhibits the most intense emission intensity, leading to a high absorption efficiency of 49.54%. In addition, compared with room temperature, the integrated PL intensity of the sample can still be maintained at 90.97% at 423 K. Benefitting from the outstanding optical properties, the as-manufactured NIR pc-LED device driven by a 100 mA current represents a high NIR output power of 35.14 mW and a photoelectric efficiency of 12.51%. These results verify that the as-synthesized YGSAG:Cr 3+ phosphor possesses great potential for the applications of NIR spectroscopy.

Abstract:Cr3+-activated garnet phosphors with broadband near-infrared (NIR) emission have attracted considerable interest due to their high quantum efficiency (QE) and thermal stability for widespread advanced applications. Nevertheless, how to achieve energy-saving broadband NIR phosphors that possess anti-thermal quenching (anti-TQ) without compromising the high QE has yet to be fully addressed. Herein, we report on site reconstruction within the garnet lattice by strategically positioning Sc and Ga atoms into octahedral B sites with a mole ratio of 1 : 1 to produce Gd3ScGa4O12. A reduction in crystal field strength (CFS) is thus induced, leading to a redshift of Cr3+ broadband NIR emission. The inherent rigidity of the structure and the weak electron-phonon coupling (EPC) effect lay the groundwork for a thermally robust broadband NIR phosphor. The combination of bandgap engineering, finely optimizing the 4T2 excited state population, and precise control over the doping concentration contributes a high-performance broadband NIR emission (IQE = 82.75%) with unprecedented anti-TQ such that the NIR emission of Cr3+ even increases to 198% of its room-temperature intensity at 543 K. A prototype broadband NIR pc-LED is encapsulated to deliver an NIR output power of 125.20 mW@900 mA and a wall-plug efficiency (WPE) of 6.88%@30 mA, enabling night vision, noninvasive imaging, and non-destructive detection applications.
Highly efficient and thermally stable broadband near-infrared emitting garnet Ca3Sc2Ge3O12:Cr3+, Ce3+ phosphor for multiple pc-LED applications

Abstract:With the increasing application demand of near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy in security, agriculture, medical and other fields, people have been pursuing efficient and intelligent NIR light sources. Herein, Cr3+ doped Ca3Sc2Ge3O12 (CSGG) broadband NIR phosphors were successfully synthesized. Under the excitation of 480 nm, the emission peak of CSGG:Cr3+ locates at 785 nm, and the full width at half maximum (FWHM) is 106 nm. Low photoluminescence spectra (7 K and 77 K) support the broadband NIR emission comes from two Cr3+ luminescence centers occupying ScO6 and CaO8 sites, respectively. CSGG:Cr3+ shows excellent thermal stability (97%@100 °C), but low internal quantum efficiency (IQE = 22%). The introduction of Ce3+ leads to the enhancement of IQE from 22% to 61% due to the following two reasons: the energy transfer from Ce3+ to Cr3+ and the lattice distortion which improves the parity forbidden transition of Cr3+. The mechanism of excellent luminescence thermal stability is revealed from perspectives: thermal activation energy, Huang-Rhys factor and thermal ionization effect. Benefiting from the excellent performance of CSGG:Cr3+, Ce3+ NIR phosphors, the combination with blue light chips demonstrates its potential applications in night vision, biological imaging, and nondestructive testing.

Abstract:The development of high-performance near-infrared (NIR) luminescent materials remains a significant challenge, particularly in enhancing thermal stability. Herein, we observed an anti-thermal quenching effect in the YGa 1.5 Al 1.5 (BO 3 ) 4 :Cr 3+ phosphor, with its emission intensity reaching 104% at 423 K and 101% at 483 K compared to room temperature. This anti-thermal quenching is mainly attributed to thermal-induced emission compensation resulting from excited electrons trapped at crystal defects, as confirmed by density functional theory computation. Additionally, YGa 1.5 Al 1.5 (BO 3 ) 4 :Cr 3+ exhibits a broad NIR emission peaking at 750 nm with a full width at half maximum of 135 nm and a high photoluminescence quantum yield (86%). As a proof-of-concept, we fabricated an NIR phosphor-converted light-emitting diode device that achieves an NIR output power of 59.67 mW with an input working current of 150 mA, demonstrating a photoelectric conversion efficiency of 13.6%. The utilization of this high-power NIR light-emitting diode device as a lighting source enables a penetration depth of up to 15 mm, demonstrating the potential applications of Cr 3+ -doped YGa 1.5 Al 1.5 (BO 3 ) 4 :Cr 3+ phosphors for non-invasive detection of biological tissue.

Abstract:Cr3+-activated phosphors with high quantum efficiency show excellent promise in the field of near-infrared (NIR) phosphor converted light-emitting diodes (pc-LEDs). Here, we design an annealing program for Cr3+-doped phosphors containing variable valence elements that cannot be prepared in a reducing atmosphere to enhance their luminescence efficiency and thermal stability. A novel phosphor, Li2Mg3SnO6:Cr3+, developed by this annealing design, containing variable valence element Sn, exhibits higher quantum efficiency and better thermal stability than the one prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction. The Li2Mg3SnO6:0.03Cr3+ sample exhibits broadband NIR emission with a full width at half-maximum (FWHM) of 201 nm. After annealing, the internal quantum efficiency (IQE) and external quantum efficiency (EQE) of the Li2Mg3SnO6:0.03Cr3+ sample are enhanced from 48.5% to 84.7% and from 22.7% to 32.6%, respectively, and the thermal quenching temperature at which the luminescence intensity of the phosphor reduces to half of its initial value is promoted from ∼400 K to ∼425 K. The luminescence intensity of the optimized Li2Mg3SnO6:0.03Cr3+ sample at 425 K (∼152 °C) remains 49.2% of its initial intensity at 300 K. A NIR pc-LED is fabricated by combining the optimized Li2Mg3SnO6:0.03Cr3+ sample with a blue LED (455 nm blue chip), and the NIR radiant fluxes of 3.676 mW (at 10 mA) and 29.21 mW (at 100 mA), as well as a maximum NIR photoelectric efficiency of 14.2%, are obtained. The results show that this novel phosphor has great application potential in NIR pc-LEDs, and the annealing design exhibits huge potential for improving the optical properties of Cr3+-activated phosphors.
Psychometric Properties and Analysis of the Physical Activity Social Infl uence Scale for Adults With Traumatic Brain Injuries

Abstract:The study consisted of (a) assessing the validity and reliability of the Social Infl uence Scale (SIS) for adults with brain injuries and (b) examining the types and sources of social infl uence and demographic variables that affect participants ̓ physical activity behaviors. Three confi rmatory factor analyses, intraclass correlations, and a repeated measures MANOVA were completed on responses from 402 adults with brain injuries. Results provide evidence of the validity and reliability of the SIS, and post hoc analyses revealed that participants reported receiving different types of social infl uence from family, friends, and caregivers. Findings have implications for specialists and suggestions are provided on ways to enhance the physical activity participation of adults with brain injuries.

Abstract:The disordering of the neighboring cations is exploited for lowering the site symmetry of Cr3+ to promote its parity‐forbidden d–d transition probability in garnet phosphors; meanwhile, efficient Cr3+Yb3+ energy transfer is leveraged not only to enrich the short‐wave near‐infrared emission in 950–1100 nm, but also to greatly improve the internal quantum efficiency and thermal stability. Broadband near‐infrared (NIR) phosphor‐converted light‐emitting diodes (pc‐LEDs) are recently regarded as the next‐generation smart light sources for miniaturized optical applications. However, their way to practical applications is largely obstructed by the lack of efficient NIR phosphors with photoluminescence (PL) spectrum covering the whole range of 700–1100 nm. Here, an ultra‐broadband NIR phosphor is designed by rationally constructing a Cr3+ → Yb3+ energy transfer system in a garnet crystal Lu2CaMg2Ge3O12 (LCMG). The disordering of the neighboring cations of LCMG is exploited for removing the inversion symmetry of octahedrally coordinated Cr3+ to promote its parity‐forbidden d–d transition probability; meanwhile, efficient Cr3+Yb3+ energy transfer is leveraged not only to enrich the short‐wave NIR PL in 950–1100 nm, but also to greatly improve the internal quantum efficiency (QE) (from 57.8% to 84.2%) as well as thermal stability. The resulting high external QE (35.6%) enables the demonstration of ultra‐broadband NIR pc‐LED with a record NIR output power of 93.2 mW (350 mA), which promises better performance of pc‐LEDs in non‐visible optical applications. This work provides a possible paradigm for developing ultra‐broadband NIR phosphors activated by transition metal ions.

Abstract:Broadband near-infrared (NIR) phosphor-converted light-emitting diodes (pc-LEDs) are essential to integrate near-infrared spectrometers into mobile devices for the rapid and noninvasive detection of biological components. However, efficient broadband NIR phosphors with a peak emission wavelength longer than 800 nm are deficient. In this study, CaMgGe2O6:Cr3+ phosphor was prepared by a high-temperature solid-state reaction. The phosphor doped with 0.02Cr3+ showed an emission band at 845 nm with a broad bandwidth of 160 nm and a high quantum yield of 84% under 450 nm excitation. The broadband NIR pc-LED was fabricated using CaMgGe2O6:0.02Cr3+ phosphor based on a blue light-emitting diode (LED) chip. A photoelectric efficiency of 27.2% (W 10 mA and an NIR output power of 57.98 mW (W 100 mA were achieved, which are the highest values reported yet for broadband NIR pc-LEDs with a peak wavelength longer than 800 nm. Using the fabricated NIR pc-LED as the light source, the characteristic absorption spectra of some substances were obtained. All of the results indicated that the CaMgGe2O6:Cr3+ phosphor has considerable potential in nearinfrared spectroscopic applications.

Abstract:Compact near‐infrared (NIR) light sources with broad emission band are essential to enable NIR spectroscopy compatible with portable devices, and phosphor‐converted light emitting diodes (pc‐LEDs) are efficient, low‐cost, and compact light sources. However, it is more challenging to develop highly efficient and thermally stable broadband NIR phosphors than conventional phosphors for white LEDs. Here, a series of solid solution phosphors with broadband NIR emission designed by cationic substitution in Cr3+ activated garnet Gd3Sc2Ga3O12 are reported. The internal quantum efficiency of Cr3+ emission can be significantly improved to nearly 100% via the substitution of ScO6 with smaller AlO6 octahedrons, which is attributed to the reduction of antisite defects. Moreover, the phosphor with optimized composition shows highly thermally stable emission, which renders the as‐fabricated pc‐LED with high‐power (750.8 mW) NIR emission covering the wavelength range of 700–1000 nm. The results could advance the development of NIR pc‐LEDs as high‐performance light sources for miniature NIR spectrometers.

Abstract:Broadband near‐infrared (NIR) phosphor‐converted light emitting diode (pc‐LED) is demanded for wearable biosensing devices, but it suffers from low efficiency and low radiance. This study reports a broadband NIR Ca3‐xLuxHf2Al2+xSi1−xO12:Cr3+ garnet phosphor with emission intensity enhanced by 81.5 times. Chemical unit co‐substitution of [Lu3+−Al3+] for [Ca2+−Si4+] is responsible for the luminescence enhancement and further alters the crystal structure and electronic properties of the garnet. Using the optimized phosphor, a NIR pc‐LED with photoelectric efficiencies of 21.28%@10 mA, 15.75%@100 mA and NIR output powers of 46.09 mW@100 mA, 54.29 mW@130 mA is fabricated. The high power NIR light is observed to penetrate upper arms (≈8 cm). For application in NIR spectroscopy, the NIR pc‐LED is used as light source to measure transmission spectra of water, alcohol, and bovine hemoglobin solution. These results indicate the NIR garnet phosphor to be a promising candidate for NIR pc‐LED.

Abstract:The Gd3Ga5O12 garnet exhibits a typical cubic structure in the HAADF‐STEM image, with Gd and Ga atoms arranged uniformly. The Ga3+ site is replaced by Cr3+, which shows suitable luminescence for plant lighting, with excitation at 450 nm and emission at 700–760 nm. The high efficiency of the phosphors and LED devices enables extended applications in the field of photophysiotherapy. Cr3+‐activated Gd3Ga5O12 garnet (GGG:Cr3+) near‐infrared (NIR) phosphors have shown promising applications in regulating plant growth. However, the low external quantum efficiency (EQE) results in a wall‐plug efficiency (WPE) of phosphor‐converted light‐emitting diodes (pc)‐LEDs of only ≈15%. Herein, an easy strategy to improve the luminescent properties of the GGG:Cr3+ phosphor is reported. Through optimization of the synthesized technology, the EQE is enhanced to 43.6%. Remarkably, the fabricated pc‐LEDs achieve a WPE as high as 34.3%. These results demonstrate a significant advancement in the development and applications of NIR phosphor materials and NIR pc‐LED devices.

Abstract:Near-infrared (NIR) phosphor-converted light-emitting diodes (pc-LEDs) have attracted more and more attention because of their many potential optical applications. However, high-performance broadband NIR phosphors are still rare. Here, we demonstrated that Cr3+-to-Yb3+ energy transfer (ET) is an effective strategy to boost the properties of NIR luminescence materials in Ca2LaZr2Ga2.8Al0.2O12: Cr3+,Yb3+ (CZGG: Cr3+, Yb3+). In addition to the enrichment of short-wave NIR emission in 900–1100 nm, the overall thermal stability of CZGG: Cr3+, Yb3+ can be improved by leveraging high-efficiency ET from Cr3+ to Yb3+, ascribed to the fast ET from Cr3+ to its nearest Yb3+ as well as the superior thermal stability of Yb3+. Additionally, an NIR pc-LED device was packaged via combining CZGG: Cr3+, Yb3+ with a blue LED chip to demonstrate its possible application in compact nonvisible light sources.
