What problem does this paper attempt to address?
### What problem does this paper attempt to solve? This paper aims to explore the relationship between serum uric acid levels and dietary fiber intake through the analysis of data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). Specifically, the study found a significant negative correlation between dietary fiber intake and serum uric acid levels, and this association was particularly notable among metabolically healthy young individuals. The results suggest that increasing dietary fiber intake can reduce the risk of hyperuricemia. ### Research Background Hyperuricemia is closely related to obesity, metabolic syndrome, and diabetes, and is considered an independent risk factor for these diseases. Additionally, hyperuricemia is associated with other chronic diseases such as gout and impaired kidney function. Previous studies have shown that lifestyle changes, particularly dietary control, can effectively correct hyperuricemia. Therefore, this study aims to verify the relationship between dietary fiber intake and serum uric acid levels.
