Abstract:Clear aligner treatment (CAT) is becoming a hotspot in orthodontic practice and investigation.This review discusses tooth movement,complications and present clinical applications of the treatment.According to existing researches,CAT performs better in intrusion,tipping and molar distalization,But has difficulties in extrusion,rotation and torque controlling.Simple malocclusion is the most common indications for CAT.However,complicated cases such as openbite,Class Ⅱ/Ⅲ malocclusion treated with aligners combining attachments and auxiliaries have been reported.Moreover,a similar external root resorption predisposition was identified using either aligners or fixed appliances,but periodontal health indexes were significantly improved in CAT.

Abstract:Expeditious strides in the fields of biomaterials, computer-aided design, and manufacturing have catapulted clear aligner therapy (CAT) to become a comprehensive orthodontic treatment modality. The efficiency of achieving planned tooth movement with clear aligners is a significant consideration while setting up the final treatment goals, as well as calculating treatment times and costs based on the available evidence. Contemporary research outcomes confirm that one of the most commonly reported clinical concerns with CAT is the discrepancy between the prescribed outcome in the digital treatment plan and the clinically achieved outcome from a given series of aligners. Inaccurate prediction of tooth movements may not only lead to a prolonged duration of aligner treatment with an additional need for refinement strategies; but it may also cause other concerns, such as patient burnout and increased potential for relapse. The authors of this paper have elucidated some of the critical elements that may help address this discrepancy between digitally prescribed and clinical outcomes based on an evidence-based approach with regard to the predictability and accuracy of CAT. A strong diagnostic acumen, judicious case selection, solid biomechanical understanding of various types of orthodontic tooth movements, a research framework that keeps pace with technological and material developments and provides evidence-based knowledge of the limitations of CAT; and above all, the ability of the clinician to continually innovate as per different clinical scenarios, all contribute to attaining treatment predictability, efficacy, and efficiency with CAT.

Abstract:Objective: The purpose of the current systematic review was to answer the clinical research question "Is Clear Aligner Therapy (CAT) effective in controlling the orthodontic movement?" by bringing together the most up-to-date information about the available evidence for CAT. Methodology: On January 1, 2023, a search was conducted in PubMed, ERIC, Embase, and CINHAL for any research papers published in the previous 10 years that provided an overview of the PICO questions. Both the titles and abstracts of the selected studies were evaluated independently by two different authors, and if there was any disagreement between the two review authors, a third reviewer was brought in to settle it. Results: Among included studies, three were retrospective non-randomized and two studies were prospective randomized clinical trials. Various authors reported better outcome for fixed orthodontic appliances than for clear aligner treatment (CAT) in relation to mandibular incisor proclination. The mean objective grading system score was better for braces (17) than for CAT (12) with no clinically significant difference, while staging had a significant impact on treatment efficacy. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that clear aligners may be an effective alternative to traditional braces, but more research is needed to confirm these findings and determine the optimal size of future prospective studies evaluating this treatment.
Clinical effectiveness of clear aligner treatment compared to fixed appliance treatment: an overview of systematic reviews

Abstract:ObjectiveTo evaluate the available evidence regarding clinical effectiveness of clear aligner treatment (CAT).Materials and methodsA comprehensive literature search was conducted for systematic reviews investigating effectiveness of CAT published up to July 15, 2021. This was accomplished using different electronic databases. No language restriction was applied. Screening, quality assessment, and data extraction were performed by two authors independently. Information was categorized and narratively synthesized for the key findings from moderate and high-quality reviews.ResultsA total of 361 potentially eligible reviews were identified. After excluding the non-relevant/low-quality reviews, 18 systematic reviews were included. CAT was found to be effective for mild to moderate malocclusions, and was associated with inferior outcomes when treating severe cases or with achieving specific tooth movements. There were conflicting results regarding treatment duration; however, CAT may be associated with shorter treatment in mild to moderate cases. Relapse was greater with CAT, while periodontal health was better. The risk of root resorption tended to be lower with CAT. Regarding pain, the results were unclear, although CAT was found to be more comfortable and associated with a reduced impact on eating and chewing.ConclusionsThe level of evidence regarding CAT is moderate; hence, further high-quality randomized clinical trials are required. Evidence supports use of aligners as an alternate to fixed appliances in patients with mild-to-moderate malocclusion but not in severe cases. Advancement in technology could enhance the accuracy of CAT in delivering planned outcomes.Clinical relevanceCAT can be used effectively for selected cases with mild to moderate malocclusion.RegistrationPROSPERO registration number: CRD42021246855.

Abstract:Journal of Orthodontics, Ahead of Print. Objective:To investigate clear aligner therapy (CAT) practice among orthodontists in the British Orthodontic Society (BOS).Design:A cross-sectional online survey.Methods:An electronic survey was distributed to members of the BOS in 2022. The survey comprised questions regarding respondent demographics, general use of CAT, the choice of proprietary CAT appliances, CAT planning, case selection, treatment protocols and orthodontist-reported CAT problems.Results:Overall, 233 (19.5%) responses were received with the majority (n = 121, 53.1%) being female. Most respondents reported practising in England (n = 171, 74.7%). The majority (n = 177, 77.3%) indicated that they used CAT in their practice, with 48.1% (n = 81) treating 1–20 patients with CAT annually. The most frequently prescribed CAT system was Invisalign (n = 138, 81.2%). One to three changes to the initial digital treatment plan were made by 72.9% (n = 121) with final tooth positions being the most common reason for adjustment (64.4%). Most (n = 97, 60.3%) rarely or never performed premolar extractions with CAT. Of the respondents, 23 12.7%) reported that they always or mostly used a remote monitoring system in conjunction with CAT, with a wide range of aligner change protocols reported. The median number of months required to complete non-extraction CAT reported by the respondents was 12. Most respondents (n = 77, 51.7%) did not feel that CAT provides superior outcomes compared with fixed appliance therapy.Conclusion:CAT practice varied widely among the surveyed orthodontists. A predilection for the use of Invisalign and utility in less severe cases was noted.

Abstract:The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and efficiency of orthodontic treatment using clear aligner therapy (CAT). This efficiency was measured using the Peer Assessment Rating (PAR) index, the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) index, or the similarity between the final ClinCheck and the final scanned models. A search was done electronically between 1998 and 2021 using the Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases. Three reviewers individually rated the articles. The ROBINS tool and the Cochrane risk of bias tool were used to evaluate the quality of observational research and randomized controlled trials, respectively. The degree of certainty for each selected outcome was evaluated using the grading of recommendations assessment, development, and evaluation (GRADE) approach.<i> </i>Six studies with a total of 166 participants were considered after the full texts of 61 potential reports were reviewed. This research included in the review covered the period from 1998 to 2021 in retrospect. According to the current systematic review and meta-analysis, transparent aligners had a successful outcome. In mild to moderate cases, aligner treatment appears to have a significant advantage in terms of efficiency (treatment time); nonetheless, insufficient evidence of efficacy was observed based on multiple cross-sectional investigations. When compared to traditional brackets, clear aligners provided a more stable course of treatment.

Abstract:Improper diagnosis and design, misusing orthodontic technique, relapse after orthodontic treatment, and poor patient compliance may lead to treatment failure, requiring orthodontic retreatment. While in such cases, patients usually have already had their teeth extracted, or are with periodontal, joint, and other dental problems, which often require multidisciplinary treatment. The retreatment of orthodontic patients is difficult, and the treatment options are limited. The characteristics of clear aligner treatment, such as comfortable and beautiful appearance, high degree of digital precision, and personalized tooth arrangement to simulate the final outcome, make it popular in the orthodontic retreatment. This article discusses and summarizes the details of orthodontic design, case monitoring, and the application of clear aligner in orthodontic retreatment of failed cases. Before starting treatment, the difficulty assessment tool (clear aligner treatment complexity assessment tool) can be used to evaluate the difficulty of clear aligner treatment. Orthodontists are recommended to treat orthodontic patients with clear aligners within their ability to avoid treatment failure. The key to the success of the extraction case treatment with clear aligner is to make the correct diagnosis and select the right cases. In the treatment planning, attention should be paid to the restoration of anterior tooth torque, making good use of molar distalization to obtain the space, vertical control, and improving posterior tooth relationship. Proper selection of cases and reasonable design in clear aligner treatment are expected to obtain tooth alignment, good intercuspation, normal overbite and overjet, periodontal health, parallel roots, and to achieve the goal of aesthetic, functional, stable, and healthy orthodontic treatment.

Abstract:Clear aligners have gained popularity in orthodontic treatment as a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional braces. The use of clear aligners has increased due to their advantages, including improved aesthetics, easy removability, and minimal soft tissue irritation. The treatment process involves sequential aligners custom-made for each patient, using computer-aided design and manufacturing technology. Clear aligners employ controlled forces to gradually move teeth into proper alignment. However, clear aligners have limitations, such as the need for patient compliance and their effectiveness in addressing complex malocclusions. Clinical considerations include thorough assessment, regular follow-up visits, and patient education. Treatment outcomes vary depending on the specific malocclusion characteristics. Clear aligners have demonstrated benefits in treating mild malocclusions, spacing issues, and certain types of malocclusion corrections. Treatment duration may be shorter compared to fixed appliances in mild cases. Stability and periodontal health can be influenced by clear aligner therapy, which has effects on plaque levels and gingival inflammation. Root resorption is a concern, but aligners have shown a lower prevalence compared to fixed appliances. Compliance, eruption of permanent teeth, and limitations in visualizing hard and soft tissues are important considerations. Overall, clear aligners offer an aesthetic orthodontic treatment option for a variety of dental abnormalities and mild to moderate orthodontic issues.

Abstract:Phase I (early) orthodontic treatment is intended to correct developing skeletal, dentoalveolar, and muscular imbalances, and to improve the orofacial environment before the permanent teeth eruption. The orthodontic intervention in mixed dentition provides orthodontist a unique opportunity to apply their reasoning and understanding in addressing an impending malocclusion and avoid or limit the use of Phase II treatment. This paper describes the application of clear aligner therapy (CAT) in growing individuals. The use of clear aligner treatment in addressing early transverse discrepancy (inter- and intra-arch), Class III and Class II malocclusion are discussed in the light of current available evidence, and through case discussion. The authors propose treatment options for the correction of vertical and transverse malocclusion during early and late mixed dentition stage. Furthermore, the barriers and enablers of compliance in Phase I therapy are explored and possible resolutions are discussed. In summary, Phase I orthodontic treatment using CAT lack a large body of credible evidence, nonetheless, it is proving to be an exciting field regarding its sheer scope and expanse.

Efficacy of Clear Aligners on Mandibular Molar Distalization: A Retrospective Study

Abstract:Background: Clear aligners (CAs) can distalize mandibular molars. The present study aimed to study the efficiency and influencing the factors of CAs for mandibular molar distalization and to provide guidance for clinical design. Materials and Methods: The present study evaluated 32 adult orthodontic patients who needed mandibular molar distalization and were treated with CAs between September 2018 and September 2020 at the school of medicine. The cone-beam computed tomography images of T0 (before orthodontic treatment) and T1 (after mandibular molars were fully distalized) were collected, and the actual movements of mandibular molars were measured and compared with the expected movements. The efficiency of mandibular molar distalization during treatment was comprehensively evaluated, and the relevant factors were analyzed. Results: For mandibular first molar distalization, the average efficiency of the crown was 67.19% 9swn. 13%, and that of the root was 37.87% 7stn. 72%. There was a significant difference between the achieved movement amount and the expected amount (P < 0.05). For mandibular second molars, the average efficiency of the crown was 58.47% 7swn. 07%, and that of the root was 57.03% 3stn. 48%. There was a statistically significant difference between the achieved movement amount and the expected amount (P < 0.05). There was a significant negative correlation between the expected movement and the efficiency of the crown. Conclusions: CAs can achieve mandibular molar distalization, and the movement pattern of molars is mainly a tipping movement. To accomplish bodily movement, overcorrection should be fully considered. In addition, it is suggested that close attention should be given to observing root movement during molar distalization.

Abstract:Design Systematic reviewStudy population Orthodontic patients undergoing treatment with removable thermoplastic retainers compared with conventional fixed orthodontic appliances. The mean age of patients was between 15 and 33 years. Data sources Six electronic databases including: Scopus, Web-of-Science, PubMed, Cochrane, Clinical Trials and Grey Literature were searched in addition to a search of references in eligible studies with no restriction of language. Out of 559 studies, 55 were eligible. Only four articles were included; three non-randomised and one randomised controlled trial (RCT) involving 96-182 patients. The studies included were completed within 2005-2016.Study selection Clinical trials involving orthodontic patients undergoing treatment using thermoplastic removeable aligners, namely Invisalign, in comparison to conventional fixed orthodontic appliances of either self-ligating or tip-edge bracket systems were included.Data extraction and synthesis Two members of the research team independently selected articles which fulfilled the inclusion criteria and compared results prior to data collection. A third party examiner was available to resolve disagreements. The study quality was analysed for presence of bias; three non-randomised studies were evaluated and scored using the Methodological Index for Non-Randomised Studies (MINORS), one study was considered high methodological quality, two were considered moderate. The RCT was assessed using the Cochrane Collaboration Common Scheme for Bias and was deemed to be low risk of bias. Results The results suggest that Invisalign can provide successful alignment, however, it poses difficulties in achieving occlusal contacts, buccolingual inclination and vertical movement of teeth. One study found that Invisalign cases are more susceptible to relapse, which can be explained through the tipping mechanism compared to bodily movement, of conventional fixed appliances. Furthermore some studies show that although using aligners can result in overall shorter treatment time the final occlusion was not favourable. The outcome of the RCT, showed that aligners can be successful in treating class I malocclusions in extraction cases.Conclusions This systematic review found that the use of clear aligners made no significant difference to treatment time compared with conventional appliances. Additionally, removable aligners were effective in crowding cases but had limitations in achieving favourable outcomes in the anterior-posterior position and final occlusion, as well as being more likely to relapse post treatment.

Abstract:Clear aligner therapy has emerged as a popular alternative to traditional fixed orthodontic treatment, particularly among adult patients seeking aesthetic and comfortable options. These aligners, made of clear thermoformed plastic, offer advantages such as improved aesthetics, comfort, oral hygiene, and periodontal health compared to fixed appliances. Recent studies have shown that clear aligners can be equally effective as fixed appliances, if not more so, for treating mild to moderate malocclusions, with shorter treatment durations, fewer appointments, and reduced emergency visits. While clear aligners may not be as effective for complex cases requiring additional techniques, advancements in technology have expanded their applicability, allowing for the incorporation of methods used in traditional braces. However, more extensive research is needed to fully understand their impact on oral health and the oral microbiome, spanning all treatment phases from initiation to maintenance. Additionally, various brands of clear aligners with different materials and designs have entered the market, offering alternatives to the widely known Invisalign™, though scientific literature on these alternatives remains limited. This article discusses about the efficacy of clear aligners as compared to fixed appliances in orthodontic treatment.

Evaluating the efficacy and predictability of distalization protocols for maxillary molars in Class II treatment with clear Aligners: A narrative review

Abstract:Introduction: Clear aligner therapy (CAT) has become a popular orthodontic treatment option for adolescent and adult patients for its aesthetic, patient's comfort, and convenient features. It involves a programmed and simulated virtual planning, tracking, and quantifying of tooth movement to target positions. Over the years, the therapeutic scope of CAT has increased dramatically to include a wider range of malocclusions with the aid of orthodontic auxiliaries as adjunctive biomechanics. This narrative review aims at summarizing and evaluating current practices, efficacy and predictability of sequential distalization protocol for maxillary molars in class II treatment using CAT. Methods: A systematic search for this review included electronic literature databases of MEDLINE via Pubmed, Web of Science, ProQuest and Embase to include all available published articles including systematic reviews, books, cases reports, and narrative literature reviews. Results: Most published studies are retrospective examining small sample size. Current literature should be interpreted carefully as studies differ in their outcome measurement process and timing. Although reports show 2-3 mm of molar distalization is possible, a distinguish between bodily movement and molar tip back should be made. There is a discrepancy between computer-assisted predicted outcome and actual clinical outcome reported in literature. Conclusion: Molar distalization using CAT is possible. However, randomised trials with large sample size are necessary to draw more definitive conclusion about its efficacy and predictability. Due to the discrepancy between computer-assisted predicted outcome and actual clinical outcome, case refinement and possible altered treatment duration should be discussed with the patient in the planning stage. Since the process of molar distalization using CAT involves undesirable reaction force, it is essential to reinforce anchorage with suitable auxiliaries like composite attachments, class II/III elastics, and TADs.
Biomechanics of clear aligner therapy: Assessing the influence of tooth position and flat trimline height in translational movements

Abstract:Objective: The present clear aligner therapy (CAT) research focuses on isolating and reporting the biomechanical performance for three separate teeth, three translational movements and two flat trimlines at different heights. By identifying key patterns, the research seeks to inform the development of improved aligner designs, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of clinical orthodontic treatments. Materials and methods: In an in vitro setting using the Orthodontic Force Simulator (OFS), the biomechanical response of 30 aligners was investigated on three different teeth of a straight symmetric maxillary dentition (central incisor, canine and first molar). Each tooth was tested under two flat trimline conditions (trimmed at gingival margin, TL0; extended 2.0 mm below, TL2) and for three types of translational movements (palatal translation, mesial translation and intrusion). Forces and moments were reported at the centre of resistance for each displaced tooth as well as the two neighbouring teeth, evaluating a total of 18 distinct scenarios. Results: Findings indicate significant variability in the biomechanical responses based on tooth location in the arch, trimline height and movement performed. For palatal translations, the palatal force required to perform the movement was observed highest in molar cases, followed by canine and incisor cases, with a notable difference in the distribution of side effects, indicating a strong influence of tooth anatomy and position in the arch. Similarly, in mesial translations and intrusions molars experienced greater forces and moments than the corresponding movements applied on canines and incisors, but uniquely dispersed for each configuration tested. Regarding the shape of the aligner, TL2 consistently showed improved control over orthodontic movements compared to TL0. Neighbouring teeth frequently displayed compensatory reactions up to about half of the intensity observed on the tooth being moved, with notable variations from case to case. Conclusions: This research supports fundamental factors impacting CAT: Characteristic patterns in the direction and intensity of forces and moments are associated with each of the three translational movements tested. Tooth anatomy and arch location significantly influence the biomechanical performance of aligners, with an observed trend for molars to display higher forces and moments over canines and incisors, but distributed differently. The height of a flat trimline, specifically TL2, shows enhanced control over orthodontic movements. Additional findings revealed a compensatory activity of neighbouring teeth, which varies based on tooth region and movement type. It potentially could influence CAT outcomes negatively and merits attention in future investigations. These results support a tailored CAT method that improves aligner design for better force application. This method needs to be used alongside, and confirmed by, clinical knowledge. Future research should extend these findings to a wider range of clinical conditions for greater applicability in the day-to-day orthodontic practice.

Abstract:BACKGROUND Clear aligners are orthodontic devices that are transparent, a plastic used to correct malaligned teeth. Here patient wears a series of customized clear, removable aligners that gradually move the teeth to the desired position. The clear aligner system is a modern adaptation of the systems described since the middle of the 20th century, therefore there were different devices and philosophies that have led to its creation and the system has evolved a lot over the decades. Clear aligner therapy has been a part of the orthodontic practice for years, but, popularity was increased since the introduction of Invisalign appliances (Align Technology) in 1998. There are almost 27 different clear aligner products currently on offer for orthodontic treatment. Nowadays, more people prefer clear aligner treatment because it is aesthetically superior to brackets and lingual orthodontics. The superiority of clear aligners lies in their aesthetics. The optical properties of the clear aligner material play a major role in aesthetics. The rising demand among adult patients for “invisible” orthodontic treatment has led to an exponential growth in the clear aligner market. Indeed, these aligners have a low aesthetic impact, as well as being able to effectively and progressively guide the teeth into their programmed positions. They are also removable and therefore do not hamper oral hygiene maintenance, in turn reducing the risk of white spots, caries, gingivitis and periodontal disease. All the materials do not possess the same chemical composition. The properties change before and after wear. In this article, we bring out the different materials used for the manufacture of clear aligners and their various properties. Clear aligner therapy and symptoms of temporomandibular disorders: a case report

Abstract:The etiology of temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) is remarkably diverse. This case report highlights the use of clear aligners as a probable cofactor of TMD in an adult patient. A 56-year-old woman who presented with a chief concern of crowding was missing teeth in both arches and had generalized tooth wear, an indistinct history of temporomandibular joint musculoskeletal pain, and a self-reported history of clenching. Based on the patient's preferences, clear aligner therapy (CAT) was initiated with a limited treatment goal of providing improved esthetics by reducing the overjet, expanding the arches, and aligning the anterior teeth. A few weeks into CAT, the patient developed acute masticatory facial pain. Therefore, the course of CAT was adjusted in favor of an individualized protocol to alleviate her occlusal symptoms until orthodontic treatment was completed. Dental providers must consider the potential contributory role of CAT in TMDs in patients who adapt poorly to occlusal changes and offer a patient-centered approach to manage the problem.
Clinical use of clear aligner in Class I malocclusion

Abstract:Orthodontics is one of the increasingly popular dental specialties. With the driving force in technology and the development of materials, nowadays, straightening options is more predictable with clear aligner, it helps to improve the problems of malocclusion more possibly and more comfortably. It is known as a highly aesthetic orthodontic appliance, which is near-invisible, enhances oral hygiene as well as comfort during treatment. Invisalign is one of the pioneers in clear aligners, that’s why clear aligners is warmly welcomed all over the world and particularly in Vietnam. In this article, we report two cases of comprehensive treatment with clear aligner from Invisalign within 18 months, under the support of artificial intelligence to plan tooth movement through Clincheck© software. The aim is to present the efficacy of the latest orthodontic therapy, and to offer patients more treatment options in correcting various types of malocclusion.

Abstract:Recent digital technological advancements in the orthodontic field, in general, and orthodontic-surgery domain, in specific, in terms of design, simulation, and fabrication of appliances have not only boosted the management of orthodontic practise, but also, has enhanced the streamlining of novel technique such as surgery-first orthognathic approach (SFOA). Currently, it is amply evidentiary to digitally simulate complex surgical movements, coordinate dental arches, and subsequently 3D-print thermoplastic splints as result of the digital simulation. However, often, the clinician faces a 'dilemma of execution' while seeking an answer for a fundamental question, such as – 'which protocol and clinical guidelines are most appropriate for integration of integration of Clear Aligner Treatment (CAT) in the management of Surgery-First Orthognathic approach (SFOA)?'. The primary objective of this article is to provide an, in-detail, answer to the question. This is a first-of-its-kind article that effectively utilizes clinical scenarios and case report to meticulously describe the requirements of presurgical orthodontics, during surgery, and post-surgery commencement of aligner-orthodontics in three dimensions (transverse, vertical and sagittal), along with clinical tips, dos, and don'ts. Additionally, the combination of intraoral 3D scanning with low-dose radiation 3D radiography that allows for a very precise surgical setup i.e., virtual surgical planning (VSP) (for e.g., Surgical Bite Jump), ample provision for repositioning aligners, and fabrication of the Invisalign® thermoformed tray are scrupulously explained for the proper assimilation, and step-by-step execution of surgery-first with clear aligner treatment.

An Umbrella Review for Assessment of Treatment Effectiveness of Clear Aligners Compared to Conventional Fixed Appliances in Orthodontic Patients

Abstract:Introduction Orthodontic improvements, mainly through the previous decade, have led to a substantial rise in patients’ esthetic needs. Traditional orthodontic procedures have been linked with a compromise in facial appearance, which increases concern among patients pursuing orthodontic treatment. Methods PubMed, MEDLINE, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Library of Systematic Reviews databases were searched using appropriate entry terms and Boolean operators. Search strategy was conducted till June 2022 for systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Publications were systematically assessed for eligibility, and two observers independently graded the methodologic quality using AMSTAR-2 tool. For each meta-analysis, we estimated the summary effect size by the use of random-effects and fixed-effects models and the 95% confidence interval. We estimated the between-study heterogeneity expressed by I 2 (defined as large for I 2 ≥50%), evidence of small-study effects (i.e., large studies had significantly more conservative results than smaller studies), and evidence of excess significance bias (i.e., more studies than expected with significant results). Results Overall, 16 unique systematic reviews and meta-analyses following the eligibility criteria were selected for umbrella review. The results of qualitative analysis of studies revealed that 4 studies had a critically low risk of bias, 11 showed low risk, and 1 study had moderate risk. The results of the meta-analysis favored clear aligners with respect to oral hygiene and root resorption parameters. When tooth movements were considered, the results favored conventional orthodontic treatment. Conclusion Clear aligner therapy (CAT) has significant advantages with regard to efficiency (treatment time, chair time) in mild-moderate malocclusion cases. The overall accuracy of CAT when compared to fixed orthodontic treatment was found to be 55-82%.
