Abstract:Background: Neck self-awareness, related to sensorimotor dysfunction, can be monitored with the Fremantle Neck Awareness Questionnaire (FreNAQ). The cross-cultural adaptation of the FreNAQ in Greek (FreNAQ-GR) and an assessment of its psychometric properties were conducted. Methods: This study included 104 participants (65 female) with non-specific chronic neck pain (NSCNP). Once the cross-cultural adaptation process of the FreNAQ-GR was complete, the testing of its construct validity was conducted via an exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The construct validity examination also included a correlational analysis with a Pain Intensity Visual Analogue Scale (PI-VAS), the Neck Disability Index (NDI), the Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia (TSK), the Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS), and demographics. The internal consistency of the FreNAQ-GR was also examined. A sub-sample of participants (n = 30) completed the FreNAQ-GR again after 5–7 days. Results: The dataset was appropriate for EFA (measure of sampling adequacy KMO = 0.763 and Bartlett's test of sphericity p < 0.001). The FreNAQ-GR demonstrated a single-factor 6-item structure (items 7–9 removed), explaining 53.69% of the common variance. Statistically significant correlations (Spearman's) were registered between the FreNAQ-GR (both versions) and the NDI (r = 0.33/0.29, p < 0.001), the TSK (r = 0.46/0.41, p < 0.001), and the PCS (r = 0.37/0.33, p < 0.001). For the 9-item and the 6-item FreNAQ-GR, the internal consistency (Chronbach's a/McDonald's ω) was 0.80/0.79 and 0.826/0.816, respectively. The test–retest reliability was excellent for both versions ICC2,1 (95% CI) = 0.98/0.98 (0.97–0.99/0.95–0.99), with low error values SEM = 0.90/0.74 and MDC95% = 2.49/2.05 points. Conclusions: The FreNAQ-GR is suitable for assessing neck self-awareness in Greek-speaking patients with NSCNP.

Abstract:Context: People with chronic or long-term pain may develop various psychosocial symptoms such as fear and avoidance of behavior due to pain. Reliable and valid quality of life tools must be available in Turkish to specifically assess avoidance of behavior in people with shoulder pain. Objectives: This study aimed to translate and culturally adapt the Avoidance of Daily Activities Photo Scale for Patients with Shoulder Pain and to evaluate the psychometric properties of its Turkish version (ADAP-Tr) in patients with shoulder pain. Methods: Translation, adaptation, and validation were performed according to the COSMIN (COnsensus-based Standards for the selection of health Measurement INstruments) guidelines. The internal consistency, reliability, construct validity, and discriminant validity of the ADAP-Tr were tested. The Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS), Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK), and Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) were applied for validation purposes. Results: The study included a total of 162 participants with shoulder pain. The internal consistency of the ADAP-Tr showed excellent reliability with a Cronbach's α of 0.94 and a test-retest assessment of 0.88 ICC (95% CI, 0.83-0.91). The standard error of measurement was 1.85 points, and the minimal detectable change was determined 5.12 points. There was a low to high correlation among the ADAP-Tr and PCS (r = 0.481, p < .001), TSK (r = 0.448, p < .001), and SPADI (r = 0.826, p < .001) scores. Conclusions: The ADAP-Tr was shown to be a valid and strong reliability tool to use in clinical and research settings as a shoulder-specific measurement tool.

Abstract:Background: Chronic shoulder pain is characterized by persistent discomfort in the shoulder joint that can be due to various causes, affecting the patient's quality of life. Methods: One hundred twenty three participants (54.83 ± 11.73 years) completed the Spanish SRQ. Internal consistency, floor and ceiling effect, and test-retest reliability were analyzed. We also studied construct validity, as well as convergent (quick Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand questionnaire) and concurrent (12-item Short Form Health Survey) validity. The ability and accuracy to discriminate between patients with and without anxiety and depression cases was evaluated with the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale; a receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis was used. Results: The Spanish SRQ showed an appropriate level of internal consistency and test-retest reliability. Factor analysis revealed a 2-factor structure. The Spanish SRQ total score and domains showed good convergent and concurrent validity. The total score was significantly able to discriminate between participants with and without symptoms related to probable presence of anxiety or depression (cut-off point of 34.17). Conclusion: The Spanish SRQ was found to be a valid and reliable instrument for assessing shoulder symptoms and function and discriminating the probable presence of anxiety and depression in patients with chronic nonsurgical shoulder pain.

Abstract:Background: Disrupted self-perception of the low back might contribute to chronic non-specific low back pain. The Fremantle back awareness questionnaire is a simple questionnaire to assess back specific self-perception. The questionnaire has recently been translated to German (FreBAQ-G). The aim was to further investigate the psychometric properties of the FreBAQ-G, to evaluate its cross cultural validity in patients with chronic non-specific LBP and to explore potential relationships between body perception, pain, disability and back pain beliefs. Methods: In this cross-sectional multicentre study, sample data were merged with data from the validation sample of the original English version to examine cross-cultural validity. Item Response Theory was used to explore psychometric properties and differential item function (DIF) to evaluate cross-cultural validity and item invariance. Correlations and multiple linear regression analyses were used to explore the relationship between altered back specific self- perception and back pain parameters. Results: Two hundred seventy-two people with chronic low back pain completed the questionnaires. The FreBAQ-G showed good internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.84), good overall reliability (r = 0.84) and weak to moderate scalability (Loevinger Hj between 0.34 and 0.48). The questionnaire showed unidimensional properties with factor loadings between 0.57 and 0.80 and at least moderate correlations (r > 0.35) with pain intensity, pain related disability and fear avoidance beliefs (FABQ total - and subscores). Item and test properties of the FreBAQ-G are given. Only item 7 showed uniform DIF indicating acceptable cross-cultural validity. Conclusions: Our results indicate that the FreBAQ-G is a suitable questionnaire to measure back specific self-perception, and has comparable properties to the English-language version.

Abstract:Study design: This consisted of a translation and validation study.Background: Acute hamstring injury is a frequent muscle strain in sports that require high explosive strength, impulsion or running phases. Therefore, the Functional Assessment Scale for Hamstring Injury questionnaire was developed to assess pain, physical activity level and ability to perform various exercises in patients with hamstring injuries. The Functional Assessment Scale for Hamstring Injury questionnaire is currently available in English, German, and Greek.Objectives: The goal of this study was to provide a cross-culturally adapted French-translation of the FASH questionnaire and to assess its psychometric performance.Methods: The French-translation and cross-cultural adaptation process were based on international recommendations, following six rigorous steps: (a) two initial translations from English to French; (b) synthesis of the two translations; (c) back-translations; (d) comparisons between the back-translations and the original questionnaire by an expert committee; (e) pretest; and (f) approval of the final French version of the Functional Assessment Scale for Hamstring Injury questionnaire. To validate this French version, 116 subjects (17 pathological patients, 19 patients with other muscle injury, 40 athletes at risk, and 40 healthy control athletes) were recruited to complete the Functional Assessment Scale for Hamstring Injury questionnaire. The Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) was used as a comparative questionnaire. The psychometric properties of the questionnaire were evaluated by determining the test-retest reliability after a 48-60-h interval, internal consistency, construct validity, and floor/ceiling effects.Results: All of the items of the Functional Assessment Scale for Hamstring Injury questionnaire were translated without any major difficulties. The questionnaire showed excellent discriminative power by obtaining significantly different scores from the four groups (p = 0.01). Regarding psychometric performances, the test-retest reliability was excellent (IntraClass Coefficient Correlation of 0.997). Very high internal consistency was also observed (Cronbach's alpha of 0.969). Correlations with the physical health subscales of the SF-36 were significant and considered to be strong, indicating an excellent convergent validity. The other subscales of the SF-36 (mental health) were weakly correlated with the FASH, reflecting good divergent validity. No floor or ceiling effects were observed.Conclusion: The French-translation of the Functional Assessment Scale for Hamstring Injury questionnaire and its cross-cultural adaptation can be considered to be successful. Functional Assessment Scale for Hamstring Injury-French questionnaire is now a reliable and valid tool for patients suffering from acute hamstring injury, and its application in clinical practice is particularly relevant.Implications for rehabilitationThe FASH-F can be considered to be discriminant, reliable and valid for the evaluation of the severity of symptoms and sports ability in individuals with hamstring injuries.FASH-F is now a reliable and valid tool for French-speaking patients suffering from acute hamstring injury, and its application in clinical practice is particularly relevant.A limitation of our study could be that the distribution between the different study groups was not homogeneous implying that our findings may not be fully representative of the general population.

Abstract:The purpose of this study was to investigate psychometric properties of the Greek translation of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (GR-PSQI) in a Greek chronic non-specific low back pain (CNSLBP) sample, thus, providing insight on its clarity and acceptability as a widely used sleep assessment tool in clinical practice. Asymptomatic volunteers (n = 73) and CNSLBP volunteers (n = 47), participated in the study. For the assessment of construct validity, the known-groups method was used. Thus, all the participants (asymptomatic and CNSLBP) completed the GR-PSQI. For the assessment of concurrent validity, the CNSLBP participants additionally completed the following validated questionnaires for depression, insomnia and sleep quality: Beck Depression Inventory Questionnaire (BDI), Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), and Sleep Quality Numeric Rating Scale (SQNRS). For the assessment of test–retest reliability, the CNSLBP participants completed the GR-PSQI a second time, one week after the first time. The results showed excellent test–retest reliability (ICC = 0.969, SEM = 0.90, SDD = 2.49%) and internal consistency (Cronbach α = 0.985), moderate to good concurrent validity (from r = 0.556 to r = 0.860) among PSQI, BDI, SQNRS, and ISI, as well as excellent construct validity (p = 0.000) between the two groups. The Greek translation of PSQI could be a valuable tool for Greek healthcare professionals in both clinical and research environments.

Italian cross-cultural adaptation and validation of three different scales for the evaluation of shoulder pain and dysfunction after neck dissection: University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) Shoulder Scale, Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) and Simple Shoulder Test (SST)

Abstract:Shoulder syndrome after neck dissection is a well known entity, but its incidence and prognostic factors influencing recovery have not been clearly assessed due to the heterogeneity of possible evaluations. The University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) Shoulder Scale, the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) and the Simple Shoulder Test (SST) are three English-language questionnaires commonly used to test shoulder impairment. An Italian version of these scales is not available. The aim of the present study was to translate, culturally adapt and validate an Italian version of UCLA Shoulder Scale, SPADI and SST. Translation and cross-cultural adaptation of the SPADI, the UCLA shoulder scale and the SST was performed according to the international guidelines. Sixty-six patients treated with neck dissection for head and neck cancer were called to draw up these scales. Forty patients completed the same questionnaires a second time one week after the first to test the reproducibility of the Italian versions. All the English-speaking Italian patients (n = 11) were asked to complete both the English and the Italian versions of the three questionnaires to validate the scales. No major problems regarding the content or the language were found during the translation of the 3 questionnaires. For all three scales, Cronbach's α was > 0.89. The Pearson correlation coefficient was r > 0.91. With respect to validity, there was a significant correlation between the Italian and the English versions of all three scales. This study shows that the Italian versions of UCLA Shoulder Scale, SPADI and SST are valid instruments for the evaluation of shoulder dysfunction after neck dissection in Italian patients.
The Translation, Cross-Cultural Adaptation and Validation of the Italian Version of the Hip and Groin Outcome Score Questionnaire for a Young and Active Population

Abstract:The HAGOS (Hip and Groin Outcome Score) questionnaire is a valid and reliable measure of the self-assessment of symptoms, activity limitation, participation restriction, and quality of life (Qol) of subjects with hip and/or groin pain. The aims of this study are to translate and transculturally adapt the HAGOS into Italian (HAGOS-I) and to assess its internal consistency, validity, and reliability in physically active, young, and middle-aged subjects. The translation and transcultural adaptation of (HAGOS-I) was carried out according to international guidelines. Eight-one subjects (mean age 28.19) were included in this study. All the participants completed the HAGOS-I, the Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS-I), the Oxford Hip Score (OHS-I), and the Short Form 36 Health Surveys (SF-36-I). The Cronbach's α for the six HAGOS subscales ranged from 0.63 to 0.87. Statistically significant correlations were obtained between the six HAGOS-I subscales and the LEFS-I (rs = 0.44–0.68; p < 0.01). Only one HAGOS-I subscale (Participation in Physical Activities) did not reach statistical significance with the OHS-I, while the remaining five had a moderate correlation (rs = 0.40–0.60; p < 0.01). The test–retest reliability (Intraclass Correlation Coefficient) ranged from 0.57 to 0.86 for the six HAGOS-I subscales. The HAGOS-I is a valid and reliable instrument that can be used in clinical settings with young and middle-aged subjects with hip and/or groin pathologies.

Abstract:IntroductionShoulder dysfunction is one of the most important upper extremity problems that limit the quality of life of individuals. Munich Shoulder Questionnaire (MSQ) is a self-assessment tool that allows an easy follow-up and evaluation for clinicians. The aim of this study was to describe the process applied to translate MSQ into Turkish and to test its validity and reliability.MethodsThe questionnaire involves socio-demographic data, as well as objective and subjective items for shoulder dysfunction. The study investigated 180 patients with shoulder dysfunction. Cronbach’s alpha was used to assess internal consistency. Test-retest reliability was evaluated by the intra-class correlation coefficient. Pearson’s correlation coefficient served to examine the convergent validity. The SPSS 23.0 software was used for the statistical analysis.ResultsThe patients’ average age equalled 44.3 ± 11.6 years. In most cases (76.7%), the diagnosis was shoulder impingement syndrome. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficients of the MSQ objective and subjective sections were 0.73 and 0.96, respectively. The MSQ total score was positively correlated with the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand questionnaire total score (r = 0.70; p < 0.01) and the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index total score (r = 0.65; p < 0.01).ConclusionsThe Turkish version of MSQ is a valid, reliable, and responsive instrument for evaluating shoulder dysfunctions. In addition, MSQ-Turkish is satisfactory for evaluating shoulder dysfunctions and its use is recommended to follow up conservative, manipulative, and surgical treatments.
Greek Adaptation and Validation of the Bad Sobernheim Stress Questionnaire-Brace and the Bad Sobernheim Stress Questionnaire-Deformity

Abstract:Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is a progressive condition responsible for spinal deformity in all three planes. Spinal deformity and how the rib hump affects the aesthetics, and the functionality of the trunk can be a cause of psychological distress as well. Bracing as a treatment can have a negative impact on QoL, cause pain, affect participation levels in physical activities, and cause isolation and depression. Brace-induced stress may affect the patient's compliance with the treatment which may lead to scoliosis progression. The purpose of this study was to adapt and validate in the Greek language two instruments that can evaluate stress levels induced by bracing treatment and by deformity. The process of cross-cultural adaptation and validation of the Bad Sobernheim Stress Questionnaire-Brace (ΒSSQ-Brace) and the Bad Sobernheim Stress Questionnaire-Deformity (BSSQ-Deformity) followed the International Quality of Life Assessment Project (IQOLA) guidelines. Forty-seven AIS patients with a mean age of 14.4 ± 1.51 years, mean Cobb angle of 30.08 ± 9.25, and mean duration of the bracing treatment at 20.5 ± 12.2 months participated. The mean score for GR-BSSQ Brace was 14.04 ± 6.42, which is interpreted as medium stress, whereas the mean score for GR-BSSQ Deformity was 20.34 ± 3.78, which is interpreted as low stress. GR-BSSQ Brace demonstrated good internal consistency with Cronbach's α = 0.87. GR-BSSQ Deformity demonstrated acceptable internal consistency with Cronbach's α = 0.73. Both GR-BSSQ Brace and GR-BSSQ Deformity exhibited excellent test-retest reliability with ICC values of 0.94 (95% CI 0.89-0.97) and 0.92 (95% CI 0.86-0.95), respectively. BSSQ Brace and BSSQ Deformity questionnaires have been cross-culturally adapted into the Greek language and have been proven to be valid and reliable instruments measuring brace and deformity-induced stress. Both questionnaires can be used for clinical and research purposes in Greek-speaking population.

Abstract:Objective: To cross-culturally adapt the Danish version of the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index and to evaluate its measurement properties in terms of reliability and known-group validity. Design: Test–retest study. Setting: Outpatient Clinic of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Regional Hospital Herning, Denmark. Subjects: Consecutive shoulder patients referred to an outpatient clinic. Methods: The Shoulder Pain and Disability Index was translated from English into Danish according to international guidelines. The questionnaire was posted to patients one to two weeks before their scheduled clinical examination and repeated on the day of the examination. Results: A total of 65 patients with a variety of shoulder diagnoses were included in the study. No significant differences were found in scores between the first and the second questionnaire. The minimal detectable change was estimated to 19.4 points, and the intraclass correlation coefficient was 0.88 (95% confidence interval 0.83 to 0.94). Internal consistency measured by Cronbach’s alpha was 0.94. The questionnaire was found to discriminate well between currently working and non-working patients. Conclusion: The Shoulder Pain and Disability Index provides a sensitive and reliable tool to assess pain and disability in Danish-speaking orthopaedic shoulder patients.

Abstract:This study describes the validation and application of a comprehensive questionnaire (the shoulder pain score) in assessing pain experienced by patients with shoulder complaints. The shoulder pain score comprised six pain symptom questions selected from the literature, together with a 101-Numerical Rating Scale (NRS-101). The score was tested in a follow-up study of 101 patients with shoulder complaints. The coefficient for the internal consistency of the shoulder pain score was 0.82. A factor analysis disclosed two factors: one containing the NRS-101 with the "active" items of the shoulder pain score and another containing the "passive" items. The shoulder pain score gave a reliable impression of the pain experienced and proved to be a useful instrument for following the course of the disorder over time and giving an indication when a patient feels cured.

Abstract:The objective of the study was to cross-culturally adapt the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) into a regional Indian language (Tamil) and to test the reliability and linguistic validity of the index in Tamil-speaking Indian participants. Cross-cultural adaptation and psychometric testing of SPADI was undertaken at the Outpatient Physiotherapy Department of the Sri Ramachandra University Hospital in Chennai, India. The Test-retest reliability was quantified using the interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Cronbach alpha was calculated to assess internal consistency of the Tamil questionnaire. The construct validity was assessed using Spearman rank correlation coefficients. The reliability of the total Tamil SPADI and its subsets (Intraclass correlation coefficient >0.90) were found to be higher than that of the English SPADI and the German SPADI in this population. The internal consistency of the Tamil SPADI (Cronbach's alpha >0.95) was slightly higher than the English and the German versions. Abstract:In the spring of 1996, tonsillectomy, traditionally regarded as a procedure requiring hospitalization, began to be performed at the recently started day surgery unit at Danderyd Hospital. The article consists in a report of results obtained with a series comprising just over 200 children who were the first to undergo adenotonsillectomy in day surgery, and followed up, for instance, by questionnaire. There were no cases of complications requiring hospitalization during the first postoperative day. The parents were fairly satisfied with the care provided, though 25 per cent of them said that in the event of a new operation being necessary they would prefer that it be performed as an in-patient procedure.

Abstract:Background and objectives This study aims to introduce an innovative functional assessment tool designed for CrossFit athletes, to identify a high risk of injury at the shoulder joint. Additionally, the study seeks to examine both inter-rater reliability, which was tested in 40 CrossFit participants, and test-retest reliability, which was assessed in twenty subjects. Methodology CrossFit Functional Assessment Battery for the Shoulder Joint (CrossFit FABS) is a newly created instrument presented for the first time. The evaluation of the performance of its six items aimed to reveal deficits that could contribute to incidents of shoulder injuries. For this purpose, 40 healthy CrossFit participants were concurrently but independently examined by two raters, and twenty healthy adults active in sports were assessed by the main investigator at two different time points. Cohen's kappa coefficient was used to analyze categorical data with an ordinal structure. Results Inter-rater reliability ranged from 0.824 to 1 (P = 0.000) and test-retest reliability was 0.661 to 0.906 (P < 0.001) for each test of CrossFit FABS. A strong to almost perfect correlation was demonstrated for all the variables between the two examiners. Moderate to almost perfect correlation was shown through test-retest procedures. Conclusions The proposed test battery was established as a reliable tool for evaluating performance routines that represent high injury-risk elements for the shoulder joint in CrossFit athletes.

Abstract:Background: Sports injuries may have severe implications for an athlete's career. Psychological factors play an important role on an athlete's journey from the injury to the return to competitive sports. These factors are often insufficiently evaluated, which may lead to prolonged downtime. The Athlete Fear Avoidance Questionnaire (AFAQ) may be used to measure fear avoidance patterns in injured athletes. There is no validated German version of the questionnaire at this time. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the test-retest reliability, internal consistency and construct validity of the transculturally translated German version of the AFAQ (AFAQ_D) in injured athletes. Method: The German version of the AFAQ_D was translated using the TRAPD model. Construct validity was evaluated with correlations to the Fear Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire (FABQ) and the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK). Internal consistency was calculated using Cronbach's Alpha, while the interclass coefficient was used to calculate test-retest reliability. Results: This study included 64 athletes aged 16 to 36 years (Ø 23.15 years, ♀ 17%, ♂ 83%) after a variety of injuries. The AFAQ_D yielded good reliability values with Crohnbach's Alpha being 0.76 (95%CI; 0.67-0.84) in the first measurement and 0.82 (95%CI; 0.76-0.88) in the second measurement, and the interclass coefficient being 0.798 (95%CI; 0.674-0.876). Regarding validity, a moderate correlation was found between the AFAQ_D and the TSK (r=0.57, p<0.01), and a weak and non-significant correlation was found between the AFAQ_D and the FABQ (r=0.13, p=0.31). Conclusion: By and large, the German version of the AFAQ is a valid and reliable questionnaire to evaluate fear avoidance as well as the psychological readiness of athletes after an injury. Correlations with TSK and FABQ are roughly comparable with the original study.

Abstract:INTRODUCTION: Compassion constitutes a central element of all health and social care professions. The Professional Quality of Life Questionnaire is the most widely used instrument to measure compassion fatigue worldwide.AIM: The aim of this study was to culturally adapt the ProQOL V for Greece.METHOD: Forward-translations and back-translations were conducted by two bilingual translators (English-Greek) grown up in English speaking countries (USA, Australia) while cross-cultural adaptation followed strictly the recent WHO guidelines.RESULTS: A five-member expert-panel convened by the first author in order to identify and discuss inadequate expressions/concepts of the forward/backward translation resolved all discrepancies and reached consensus after two panel meetings. Overall, 90.0% of participants considered the instrument very good or good, and items were found relevant, easy to understand and with appropriate alternative answer categories for the three dimensions of CF.CONCLUSION: High quality self-report measures are necessary in evidence-based health and social care research and practice. Participants in a pre-test of the latest cross-culturally adapted version of ProQOL V verified the readability, comprehensibility and suitability of the instruments' items. After completion of the validation of the ProQOL V, it will become available to Greek researchers.

Abstract:KAWASE, KAORU, AND HAYAKAWA, KIYOSHI. Radiation-Induced Graft Copolymerization of Alkyl Methacrylates onto Polypropylene. Radiation Res. 30, pp. 116-128 (1967). Six alkyl methacrylates have been grafted onto polypropylene fibers by y-irradiation by two techniques. In the grafting in which backbone polymer was dipped into liquid monomer (liquid-phase grafting), large differences in the extent of grafting were observed with the monomers, together with a remarkable acceleration of grafting rates. Monomers such as n-butyl and n-propyl methacrylates grafted to a very high extent, but the efficiencies of the grafting of isobutyl and isopropyl methacrylates were very low. From investigations on the homopolymerization occurring together with the grafting, bulk polymerization, and the swelling capability of grafted products, the differences in the grafting with monomers are explained in terms of differences in the relative concentration of monomers in the fibers. In the grafting in which the backbone polymer was suspended in the vapor of the monomer (gas-phase grafting), the rate of grafting was linear with the vapor pressure of the monomer. Results of grafting at a constant vapor pressure showed that the differences in extent of grafting and in the gel effect were much less, compared with those in the liquid phase, and in general the results were similar to those for bulk polymerization of methacrylates.
