Abstract:Aims Studying the relationship between retinal vessel diameter (RVD) with (1) macular thickness and volume, (2) retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL), (3) ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer (GC-IPL) and (4) optic nerve head (ONH) in a population cohort of middle-aged Caucasians. Methods We collected data from 3070 individuals. We used a semiautomated computer-assisted programme to measure central retinal arteriolar equivalent and central retinal venular equivalent. Macular and ONH parameters were assessed by optical coherence tomography. Results Data from 2155 persons were analysed. A larger RVD was associated with a thicker macula and increased macular volume; each SD increase in average macular thickness and volume was associated with a 3.28 μm and a 3.19 μm increase in arteriolar diameter and a 5.10 μm and a 5.08 μm increase in venular diameter, respectively (p<0.001 for all). A larger rim area, greater GC-IPL and RNFL thicknesses were associated with larger RVD; each SD increase in rim area, GC-IPL thickness and RNFL thickness was associated with a 1.21 μm, 2.68 μm and a 3.29 μm increase in arteriolar diameter and a 2.13 μm, 4.02 μm and 5.04 μm increase in venular diameter, respectively (p<0.001 for all). Conclusions Increased macular thickness, macular volume, GC-IPL thickness, RNFL thickness and optic nerve rim area were associated with larger RVDs in all subjects. This study clarified the anatomical correlations between both macular and ONH parameters with RVD for middle-aged Caucasians; these can represent a basis for further studies investigating the vascular aetiology of eye diseases.

[Characteristics and significance of outer retinal thickness changes in reticular macular disease]

Abstract:Objective: To study the characteristics and significance of changes in the thickness of the outer retinal layer (ORL) outside the macula in patients with reticular macular disease (RMD). Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted. The clinical data of patients who visited the Department of Ophthalmology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from February to September 2019 were retrospectively collected. Thirty-one patients with at least one eye (54 eyes in total) diagnosed with early/mid-stage age-related macular degeneration (AMD) were consecutively included in the AMD group, and 33 patients with at least one eye (64 eyes in total) showing subretinal wart-like deposits on optical coherence tomography images were consecutively included in the RMD group. Thirty-two volunteers aged between 50 to 90 years with a normal fundus in both eyes (64 eyes in total) were consecutively included in the healthy control (HC) group. Frequency domain optical coherence tomography was applied to examine and analyze the thickness features of the ORL, inner retinal layer and choroid at the macular fovea (F), 2 mm of the temporal edge (T), the nasal edge (N), the superior edge (S) and inferior edge (I) of the macular fovea in each group. The correlations of the thickness of ORL with the choroidal thickness and the blood flow density of the choriocapillaris layer in patients with RMD were also analyzed. Results: The thickness of ORL at the F, T, S and I sites in the RMD group was significantly thinner than that in the AMD and HC groups. The difference was most obvious at the F site [(90.27±8.93), (98.04±11.7) and (97.19±7.02)μm] in the RMD, AMD and HC groups, respectively; all P<0.01). In the logistic regression model with independent variables of the ORL thickness at the macular F site, gender and age, there was a significant association between the thickness of ORL at the F site and the incidence of RMD (odds ratio=0.926, P<0.05). The ORL and choroid in the eyes of patients with RMD were significantly thinner at the F site [(90.27±8.93) and (163.21±72.43) μm, respectively; both P<0.01] compared with the AMD [(98.04±11.7) and (235.34±64.15) μm, respectively] and HC [(97.19±7.02) and (240.08±62.27) μm, respectively] groups. However, the ORL and choroidal thickness did not show significant and strong linear correlations at multiple sites. In contrast, there was a significant linear correlation between the blood flow density of the choriocapillaris layer and the thickness of ORL at the F, T and S sites in patients with RMD (r=0.487, 0.722, 0.467, respectively; all P<0.05). Conclusions: The thickness of ORL outside the macula of eyes with RMD is thinner than that of healthy eyes and eyes with early/mid-stage AMD. The thinning of ORL outside the macula is related to the decrease in the blood flow density of the choriocapillaris layer in patients with RMD.
The Importance of Integrating Approaches in Child Abuse/Neglect and Unintentional Injury Prevention Efforts: Implications for Health Educators

Abstract:The purpose of this article is to describe the importance of integrating efforts in the areas of child abuse/neglect and unintentional injury prevention. The common risk factors, illustrated by a working model, necessitate a more comprehensive approach to prevention efforts. Health educators can be key players in this process through participation on child death review teams, development of integrated and targeted programs in schools and in the community and by being a part of successful advocacy efforts.
Retinal arteriolar calibre and venular fractal dimension predict progression of proliferative diabetic retinopathy 6 months after panretinal photocoagulation: a prospective, clinical interventional study

Abstract:Objective We examined the hypothesis that baseline retinal vascular geometry in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) predicts disease activity 6 months after panretinal photocoagulation (PRP). Methods and analysis We included 47 eyes from 40 patients with treatment-naïve PDR in a 6-month prospective study. Diagnosis of PDR and disease activity was evaluated by wide-field fluorescein angiography (Optomap, Optos, Dunfermline, Scotland, UK). At baseline and 6-month follow-up, the retinal vessel geometry was measured on optic disc centred images using semiautomated software Vessel Assessment and Measurement Platform for Images of the Retina (VAMPIRE, Dundee, Scotland). Results At baseline, mean age and duration of diabetes was 51.6 and 21.4 years, and 62.5% were men. Seventeen eyes (36.2%) had progression of PDR during follow-up. At baseline, we found higher retinal arteriolar calibre (31.3±0.8 vs 28.8±0.8 pixels, p=0.02) and venous fractal dimension (F D ) (1.257±0.011 vs 1.222±0.011, p=0.02) in eyes with progression of PDR as compared with eyes with non-progression. In a multiple logistic regression model, both higher retinal arteriolar calibre (OR 1.34, 95% CI, 1.09 to 1.64, p<0.01) and venular F D (OR 1.15, 95% CI, 1.04 to 1.27, p<0.01) predicted progression of PDR. Venular calibre was seen to increase from baseline to month six regardless of disease progression (non-progression 45.0±0.7 vs 52.7±1.8 pixels, p<0.01; progression 46.2±0.8 vs 51.0±1.7 pixels, p<0.01). Conclusion Our prospective study showed that arteriolar calibre and venular F D at baseline were predictive of disease activity 6 months after PRP treatment in patients with treatment-naïve PDR.
Retinal Thickness and Microvascular Pattern in Early Parkinson's Disease

Abstract:A thinning of intraretinal layers has been previously described in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients compared to healthy controls (HCs). Few studies evaluated the possible correlation between retinal thickness and retinal microvascularization. Thus, here we assessed the thickness of retinal layers and microvascular pattern in early PD patients and HCs, using, respectively, spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and SD-OCT-angiography (SD-OCT-A), and more interestingly, we evaluated a possible correlation between retinal thickness and microvascular pattern. Patients fulfilling criteria for clinically established/clinically probable PD and HCs were enrolled. Exclusion criteria were any ocular, retinal, and systemic disease impairing the visual system. Retinal vascularization was analyzed using SD-OCT-A, and retinal layer thickness was assessed using SD-OCT. Forty-one eyes from 21 PD patients and 33 eyes from 17 HCs were evaluated. Peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) and macular RNFL, ganglionic cell layer (GCL), inner plexiform layer (IPL), and inner nuclear layer (INL), resulted to be thinner in PD compared to HCs. Among PD patients, a positive correlation between RNFL, GCL, and IPL thickness and microvascular density was found in the foveal region, also adjusting by age, sex, and, especially, hypertension. Such findings were already present in the early stage of disease and were irrespective of dopaminergic treatment. Thus, the retina might be considered a biomarker of PD and could be a useful instrument for onset and disease progression.

Abstract:Purpose: To examine individual retinal layers' location-specific patterns of thicknesses in intermediate age-related macular degeneration (iAMD) using optical coherence tomography (OCT).Methods: OCT macular cube scans were retrospectively acquired from 84 iAMD eyes of 84 participants and 84 normal eyes of 84 participants propensity-score matched on age, sex, and spherical equivalent refraction. Thicknesses of the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL), ganglion cell layer (GCL), inner plexiform layer (IPL), inner nuclear layer (INL), outer plexiform layer (OPL), outer nuclear layer + Henle's fiber layer (ONL+HFL), inner- and outer-segment layers (IS/OS), and retinal pigment epithelium to Bruch's membrane (RPE-BM) were calculated across an 8 × 8 grid (total 24° × 24° area). Location-specific analysis was performed using cluster(normal) and grid(iAMD)-to-cluster(normal) comparisons.Results: In iAMD versus normal eyes, the central RPE-BM was thickened (mean difference ± SEM up to 27.45% ± 7.48%, P < 0.001; up to 7.6 SD-from-normal), whereas there was thinned outer (OPL, ONL+HFL, and non-central RPE-BM, up to -6.76% ± 2.47%, P < 0.001; up to -1.6 SD-from-normal) and inner retina (GCL and IPL, up to -4.83% ± 1.56%, P < 0.01; up to -1.7 SD-from-normal) with eccentricity-based effects. Interlayer correlations were greater against the ONL+HFL (mean |r| ± SEM 0.19 ± 0.03, P = 0.14 to < 0.0001) than the RPE-BM (0.09 ± 0, P = 0.72 to < 0.0001).Conclusions: Location-specific analysis suggests altered retinal anatomy between iAMD and normal eyes. These data could direct clinical diagnosis and monitoring of AMD toward targeted locations.

Abstract:CONCLUSIONS: The coexistence of RPD in eyes of individuals with intermediate AMD was not associated with significant impairments in choriocapillaris blood flow and choroidal vascular structural changes, with or without adjustment for key confounders. These findings suggest that macular changes in these vascular parameters may not be associated with the presence of RPD.

Abstract:The presence of a protein that binds specifically and with high affinity to progesterone is found in the plasma of fetal guinea Pig. Progesterone and 5 alpha-dihydroxyprogesterone strongly compete for the 3H-progesterone-protein complex. 5 beta-dihydroxy progesterone, 20 beta-dihydroxyprogesterone, testosterone and synthetic progestagen, R-5020 (17,21-dimethyl-19-norpregna-4, 9-diene-3,20 dione), also compete but less intensely. 17-hydroxyprogesterone, aldosterone, cortisol, oestradiol and oestrone have no effect. The 3H-progesterone-protein, complex has an affinity of Kd = 8.8 +/- 3.5 x 10(-10) M and in sucrose density gradient the sedimentation coefficient is 4.6 S.

Differences in macular thickness associated with peripheral retinal vessel whitening in diabetic patients

Abstract:This study aimed to determine the difference in macular thickness among patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) with and without peripheral retinal vessel whitening (PRVW). PRVW was defined by retinal vessel whitening outside the standard seven ETDRS fields. Subjects were divided into DM with PRVW, DM without PRVW, and normal age-matched controls. Optical coherence tomography scans were divided into total, inner, and outer retinal layer thicknesses and were compared in the macula's central, inner, and outer rings. Forty-seven eyes were included: DM with PRVW = 15, DM without PRVW = 16, and Controls = 16. Overall, the mean retinal thickness in patients with DM with PRVW was lower than in patients with DM without PRVW and controls. In the inner macula, DM patients with PRVW showed a significantly lower mean inner superior, nasal, inferior, and temporal macula compared to DM patients without PRVW (p = 0.014, 0.008, 0.005, < 0.001, respectively). DM patients with PRVW also showed a significantly lower mean outer superior, nasal, inferior, and temporal macula than controls (p = 0.005, 0.005, 0.016, 0.025, respectively). This study demonstrates that PRVW in DM patients may be associated with global structural changes to the macular region, promoting a decrease in inner and outer retinal thickness. Further studies should investigate the functional correlation with PRVW in DM patients in order to better understand its potential implications in diabetic patients.
Retinal Vasculature–function Correlation in Non-Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy

Abstract:PURPOSE:To compare and correlate retinal microcirculation and function in patients with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR). METHODS:Thirty-three healthy controls (33 eyes), 36 diabetic patients with no clinically detectable retinopathy (NDR, 36 eyes) and 101 patients (101 eyes) with NPDR (35 mild NPDR, 34 moderate NPDR, 32 severe NPDR) were involved in the study. We used optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) to quantify the macular vessel density (VD) of superficial capillary plexus (SCP), deep capillary plexus (DCP) and foveal density in a 300 μm region around foveal avascular zone. Retinal function was assessed by a mydriasis-free, full-field flicker electroretinogram (FERG) recording device, and the amplitudes and implicit time were recorded. The association between microvascular parameters and FERG results was analyzed with stepwise multiple linear regression model. RESULTS:Decreased amplitudes and delayed implicit time, as well as lower parafoveal/perifoveal VD in both SCP and DCP, were found in NDR group and NPDR groups compared with the control group (all p < 0.05). Specifically, the FERG parameters and microvascular indices were comparable between NDR group and mild NPDR group (all p > 0.05). However, compared to mild NPDR, the reduction in FERG amplitude was more pronounced than the reduction in parafoveal VD (both SCP and DCP) in severe NPDR. Stepwise multiple linear regression analyses showed that delayed implicit time was significantly correlated with increased age and decreased VD of parafoveal region in both SCP and DCP in patients with NPDR. Meanwhile, decreased amplitude was significantly associated with decreased VD of parafoveal region in both SCP and DCP in patients with NPDR. CONCLUSION:Macular VD in both superficial and deep capillary plexus correlated with ERG implicit time and amplitude in mild-to-severe NPDR. OCTA and FERG may both be useful in detection of preclinical DR and early DR, but once the disease deteriorates, FERG may be more sensitive to discern progression of DR.
High-Density Optical Coherence Tomography Analysis Provides Insights Into Early/Intermediate Age-Related Macular Degeneration Retinal Layer Changes.

Abstract:To topographically map all of the thickness differences in individual retinal layers between early/intermediate age-related macular degeneration (AMDearly/AMDint) and normal eyes and to determine interlayer relationships. Ninety-six AMDtotal (48 AMDearly and 48 AMDint) and 96 normal eyes from 192 participants were propensity-score matched by age, sex, and refraction. Retrospective optical coherence tomography (OCT) macular cube scans were acquired, and high-density (60 × 60 0.01-mm2) grid thicknesses were custom extracted for comparison between AMDtotal and normal eyes corrected for confounding. Resultant "normal differences" underwent cluster, interlayer correlation, and dose-response analyses for the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL), ganglion cell layer (GCL), inner plexiform layer (IPL), inner nuclear layer (INL), outer plexiform layer (OPL), outer nuclear layer + Henle's fiber layer (ONL+HFL), inner and outer segment (IS/OS) thickness, and retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) to Bruch's membrane (BM) thickness. AMDtotal inner retinal clusters demonstrated extensively thinned RNFL, GCL, IPL, and paracentral INL and thickened INL elsewhere, with normal difference means ranging from -8.13 μm (95% confidence interval [CI], -11.12 to -5.13) to 1.58 μm (95% CI, 1.07-2.09) (P < 0.0001 to P < 0.05). Outer retinal clusters displayed thinned paracentral OPL/ONL+HFL, central IS/OS, and peripheral RPE-BM and thickened central RPE-BM, with means ranging from -1.31 μm (95% CI, -2.06 to -0.55) to 2.99 μm (95% CI, 0.97-5.01] (P < 0.0001 to P <0.05). Effect sizes (-2.56 to 9.93 SD), cluster sizes, and eccentricity effects varied. All interlayer correlations were negligible to moderate regardless of AMD severity. Only the RPE-BM was partly thicker with greater AMD severity (up to 5.44 μm; 95% CI, 4.88-6.00; P < 0.01). From the early stage, AMD eyes demonstrate thickness differences compared to normal with unique topographies across all retinal layers. Poor interlayer correlations highlight that the outer retina inadequately reflects complete retinal health. The clinical importance of OCT assessment across all individual retinal layers in early/intermediate AMD requires further investigation.

Probing Deposit-Driven Age-Related Macular Degeneration Via Thicknesses of Outer Retinal Bands and Choroid: ALSTAR2 Baseline

Abstract:Purpose: We aimed to identify structural differences in normal eyes, early age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and intermediate AMD eyes using optical coherence tomography (OCT) in a well-characterized, large cross-sectional cohort. Methods: Subjects ≥ 60 years with healthy normal eyes, as well as early or intermediate AMD were enrolled in the Alabama Study on Age-related Macular Degeneration 2 (ALSTAR2; NCT04112667). Using Spectralis HRA + OCT2, we obtained macular volumes for each participant. An auto-segmentation software was used to segment six layers and sublayers: photoreceptor inner and outer segments, subretinal drusenoid deposits (SDDs), retinal pigment epithelium + basal lamina (RPE + BL), drusen, and choroid. After manually refining the segmentations of all B-scans, mean thicknesses in whole, central, inner and outer rings of the ETDRS grid were calculated and compared among groups. Results: This study involved 502 patients, 252 were healthy, 147 had early AMD, and 103 had intermediate AMD eyes (per Age-Related Eye Disease Study [AREDS] 9-step). Intermediate AMD eyes exhibited thicker SDD and drusen, thinner photoreceptor inner segments, and RPE compared to healthy and early AMD eyes. They also had thicker photoreceptor outer segments than early AMD eyes. Early AMD eyes had thinner photoreceptor outer segments than normal eyes but a thicker choroid than intermediate AMD eyes. Using the Beckman scale, 42% of the eyes initially classified as early AMD shifted to intermediate AMD, making thickness differences for photoreceptor outer segments and choroid insignificant. Conclusions: With AMD stages, the most consistent structural differences involve appearance of drusen and SDD, followed by RPE + BL thickness, and then thickness of photoreceptor inner and outer segments. Structural changes in the transition from aging to intermediate AMD include alterations in the outer retinal bands, including the appearance of deposits on either side of the RPE.
Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Analysis with Scanning Laser Polarimetry and RTVue-OCT in Patients of Retinitis Pigmentosa

Abstract:Purpose: To measure the thickness of the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) of patients with retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and that of normal controls by scanning laser polarimetry with enhanced corneal compensation (GDxECC) and RTVue-optical coherence tomography (OCT). Methods: Fifty-two eyes of 26 patients were included. All patients underwent complete ophthalmological examinations and testing with GDxECC. Twenty-eight of 52 eyes of RP patients underwent RTVue-OCT measurements. A group of 50 eyes of 25 normal subjects (controls) was also included. GDxECC measured RNFL thickness in the peripapillary area in all subjects as well as temporal-superior-nasal-inferior-temporal (TSNIT) parameters, including TSNIT means, superior and inferior region means, TSNIT standard deviation (SD), inter-eye symmetry and nerve fiber indicator (NFI). RTVue-OCT measured the mean, superior, inferior, temporal and nasal quadrant RNFL thickness. Result: In RP patients and controls, TSNIT means by GDxECC were, respectively, 65.00 ± 7.35 and 55.32 ± 5.20. Mean superior quadrant thicknesses were80.56 ± 10.93 and 69.54 ± 7.45. Mean inferior thicknesses were 80.58 ± 9.34 and 69.12 ± 7.78. SDs were 27.92 ± 5.21 and 28.23 ± 4.01. Inter-eye symmetries were 0.82 ± 0.17 and 0.87 ± 0.09. NFIs were 9.74 ± 8.73 and 16.81 ± 8.13. The differences between mean TSNIT, mean superior and mean inferior quadrant thicknesses and NFIs were statistically significant (p < 0.001). In RTVue-OCT measurements, the differences between mean, superior, inferior and temporal quadrant RNFL thicknesses were statistically significant (p = 0.0322, 0.0213, 0.0387, 0.0005). Conclusions: The RNFL measured by GDxECC was significantly thicker in RP patients than in controls. RNFL thickness measured by RTVue-OCT was significantly greater in RP patients than in controls in the superior, inferior and temporal regions. This contribution provides information on RNFL thickness and discusses the mechanism underlying this phenomenon.

Abstract:Following and understanding discussions on mailing lists is a prevalent task for executives and policy makers in order to get an impression of one's company image. However, existing solutions providing a Web-based archive require substantial manual effort to search for or filter certain information. With mle we propose a new way to automatically process mailing list archives. The tool is realised based on two Semantic Web technologies: Firstly, SIOC is utilised as the primary vocabulary for describing posts, people, and topics; secondly the RDF metadata is deployed by means of embedding it in the Web page encoded in RDFa.

Abstract:Purpose: To assess the associations between physiology and demographics, non-ocular pathology and pharmaceutical drug use against peri-papillary retinal nerve fibre layer thickness (pRNFL T) and other optical coherence tomography (OCT) inner retinal measures in normal, healthy eyes. Methods: A retrospective, cross-sectional study of 705 consecutive participants with bilateral normal, healthy optic nerves and maculae. PRNFL Ts, vertical cup/disc ratio (CDR), cup volume and macular ganglion cell layer-inner plexiform layer (GCL-IPL) Ts were extracted from Cirrus OCT scans, then regressed against predictor variables of participants' physiology and demographics (eye laterality, refraction, intraocular pressure [IOP], age, sex, race/ethnicity, etc.) and non-ocular pathology and pharmaceutical drug use according to the World Health Organisation classifications. Associations were assessed for statistical significance (p < 0.05) and clinical significance (|β| > 95% limits of agreement for repeated measures). Results: A multitude of non-ocular pathology and pharmaceutical drug use were statistically and clinically significantly associated with deviations in standard OCT inner retinal measures, exceeding the magnitude of other factors such as age, IOP and race/ethnicity. Thinner inner retina and larger optic nerve cup measures were linked to use of systemic corticosteroids, sex hormones/modulators, presence of vasomotor/allergic rhinitis and other diseases and drugs (up to -29.3 [-49.88, -8.72] μm pRNFL T, 0.31 [0.07, 0.54] vertical CDR, 0.29 [0.03, 0.54] mm3 cup volume and -10.18 [-16.62, -3.74] μm macular GCL-IPL T; all p < 0.05). Thicker inner retina and smaller optic nerve cup measures were diffusely associated with use of antineoplastic agents, presence of liver or urinary diseases and other diseases and drugs (up to 67.12 [64.92, 69.31] μm pRNFL T, -0.31 [-0.53, -0.09] vertical CDR, -0.06 [-0.11, 0] mm3 cup volume and 28.84 [14.51, 43.17] μm macular GCL-IPL T; all p < 0.05). Conclusion: There are a multitude of systemic diseases and drugs associated with altered OCT inner retinal measures, with magnitudes far exceeding those of other factors such as age, IOP and race/ethnicity. These systemic factors should at least be considered during OCT assessments to ensure precise interpretation of normal versus pathological inner retinal health.

Abstract:The purpose of this study was to evaluate differences in optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) metrics in the superficial (SCP), intermediate (ICP), and deep (DCP) vascular plexuses across diabetic retinopathy (DR) severity levels.This was a cross sectional observational retrospective chart review study. Eligible patients with diabetes who underwent same day RTVue XR Avanti OCTA, spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT), and 200-degree Optos ultrawide field color imaging. SCP, ICP, and DCP vessel density (VD) and vessel length density (VLD) were assessed using 3-D projection artifact removal software (PAROCTA) software.Of 396 eyes (237 patients), 16.1% had no DR, 26.9% mild nonproliferative DR (NPDR), 21.1% moderate NPDR, 12.1% severe NPDR, 10.1% proliferative DR (PDR) without panretinal photocoagulation (PRP), and 13.4% PDR with PRP. When comparing mild NPDR to no DR eyes, ICP and DCP VD and VLD were significantly lower, but there was no difference for SCP metrics. In eyes with more severe DR, there were significant differences in SCP VD and VLD between DR severity levels (mild versus moderate NPDR: VD 35.45 ± 3.31 vs. 34.14 ± 3.38, P = 0.008 and VLD 17.59 ± 1.83 vs. 16.80 ± 1.83, P = 0.003; moderate versus severe NPDR: VLD 16.80 ± 1.83 vs. 15.79 ± 1.84, P = 0.019), but no significant differences in ICP or DCP.Although VD of each of the three individual layers decreases with increasing DR severity, DR severity has a substantially different effect on OCTA parameters within each layer. Vascular changes in eyes with no to early DR were present primarily in the deeper vascular layers, whereas in eyes with advanced DR the opposite was observed. This study highlights the effects of ICP and the importance of assessing SCP and DCP changes independently across each DR severity level.

Abstract:Purpose: To investigate the association between the presence of subretinal drusenoid deposits (SDD) and retinal vascular indices in patients with intermediate age-related macular degeneration (iAMD).Methods: Patients with intermediate AMD (based on clinical exam) and without other retinal or systemic diseases were invited to participate.
