Abstract:OBJECTIVE: The aim of the systematic review is to evaluate the effects of gingivoperiosteoplasty (GPP) on alveolar bone quality and facial growth in patients with cleft lip and palate (CLP).SEARCH METHODS: Electronic and manual search was done up to October 2017.ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Clinical and observational studies that compared GPP to control; patients without GPP evaluated either before or after the age for secondary bone graft (SBG).DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS: Studies selection was done by 2 authors independently. Risk ratio and mean difference with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using random-effects models.RESULTS: Thirteen articles were included in the review. All studies were at high risk of bias. Poorer alveolar bone quality was found in the GPP group compared to the SBG group. The pooled data showed a statistically significant increase in the incidence of Bergland type III in the GPP group compared to SBG (risk ratio: 11.51, 95% CI: 3.39-35.15). As for facial growth, GPP group resulted in a more retruded maxillary position (as indicated by "Sella-Nasion-Subspinale" angle [SNA value]) compared to control group by -1.36 (CI: -4.21 to 1.49) and -1.66 (CI: -2.48 to -0.84) when evaluated at 5 and 10 years, respectively. The protocol for presurgical infant orthopedics used in conjunction with the GPP procedure might have affected the results of the alveolar bone and facial growth outcomes.CONCLUSIONS: Definitive conclusions about the effectiveness of GPP cannot be drawn. Very weak evidence indicated that GPP might not be an efficient method for alveolar bone reconstruction for patients with unilateral and bilateral CLP. Gingivoperiosteoplasty surgery could lead to maxillary growth inhibition in patients with CLP.

Abstract:To research the influence of palate bone implantation to the growth of maxilla in three dimensional direction.40 patients of congenital cleft palate type II with palate board damage were stochastically divide into the comparison group and bone planted group. In bone planted group, HA-Bone cement was used to repair palate tabular damage. All patients are 16 full year old, cephalometric radiograph and tooth cast model were measured and contrast analysis was applied.Planted bone group and the comparison group does not have the significance difference in both the maxilla length and maxilla hightness( P > 0.05); But there was significance difference in the width of post-part of the maxilla (P < 0.05).It could promote the growth of maxilla width in use of bone implantation, that advocated the bone repair in the sequence treatment process in cases of the hard palate bone damage.

Abstract:Conventional gingivoperiosteoplasty (GPP) performed during infancy adversely affects maxillary development. However, the outcomes of this procedure in early childhood have rarely been reported. Therefore, we examined the postoperative outcomes of GPP conducted in patients aged 1.5 years with unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP). This study included 87 non-syndromic patients with complete UCLP who had undergone early two-stage palatoplasty during the 1999-2004 period. The protocol comprised soft palate plasty at 1 year of age and hard palate closure at 1.5 years of age. In the GPP group (n = 34), we introduced the GPP procedure during hard palate closure; in the non-GPP group (n = 53), the labial side of the alveolar cleft remained intact. We examined computed tomography images taken at 8 years of age to observe bone formation at the alveolar cleft site. We also conducted cephalometric analysis to examine maxillary development at 12 years of age. Bone bridges at the alveolar cleft site were observed in 92% and 5.6% of the GPP and non-GPP groups, respectively. Moreover, 56% of the GPP group did not require secondary alveolar bone grafting (sABG), whereas all the patients in the non-GPP group underwent sABG. No statistically significant differences were noted in the maxillary anteroposterior length (GPP: 45.5 ± 3.7 mm, non-GPP: 45.9 ± 3.5 mm, p = 0.67) and sella-nasion-point A angle (GPP: 75.6 ± 4.5°, non-GPP: 73.8 ± 12.6°, p = 0.49). This study's findings suggest that GPP performed at 1.5 years of age minimises the necessity of sABG and does not exert a negative influence on maxillofacial development.

Abstract:The Cleft Palate Craniofacial Journal, Ahead of Print. ObjectiveThis study aimed to determine the efficacy of gingivoperiosteoplasty (GPP) in preventing alveolar bone grafting (ABG) among children with cleft lip and palate (CLP).Design/SettingRetrospective university hospital single center study.PatientsChildren with CLP treated with GPP from 2000-2015 were included. Those under eight years of age, without definitive conclusions regarding need for ABG or with incomplete data were excluded.InterventionsIncluded patients were analyzed for demographics, cleft type, age at GPP, associated cleft surgery, use of nasoalveolar molding (NAM), indication for ABG, operating surgeon and presence of residual alveolar fistula. T-tests and Fisher's exact tests were utilized for statistical analysis.Main Outcome MeasureThe need for ABG.ResultsOf the 1682 children identified with CLP, 64 underwent GPP and met inclusion criteria. 78% of patients with CLP who underwent GPP were recommended for ABG. Those who received GPP at a younger age (P = .004) and at the time of initial cleft lip repair (P = .022) were less likely to be recommended for ABG. Patients with complete CLP were more likely to be recommended for ABG than patients with cleft lip and alveolus only (P = .015). The operating surgeon impacted the likelihood of ABG (P = .004). Patient gender, race, ethnicity, laterality, and NAM were not significantly associated with recommendation for ABG.ConclusionGPP does not preclude the need for ABG. Therefore, the success of ABG after GPP and maxillary growth restriction should be analyzed further to determine if GPP is a worthwhile adjunct to ABG in cleft care.

Abstract:The products of the recG and ruvAB genes of Escherichia coli are both thought to promote branch migration of Holliday recombination intermediates by their junction specific helicase activities in homologous recombination and recombination repair. To investigate the in vivo role of the recG gene, we examined the effects of a recG null mutation on cell division and chromosome partition. After UV irradiation at a low dose (5J/m2), delta recG mutant filamentous cells with unpartitioned chromosomes. A mutation in the sfiA gene, which encodes and SOS-inducible inhibitor of septum formation, partially suppressed filamentation of recG mutant cells, but did not prevent the formation of anucleate cells. The sensitivity of UV light and the cytological phenotypes after UV irradiation of a recA recG double mutant were similar to a recA single mutant, consistent with the role of recG, which is assigned to a later stage in recombinant repair than recA. The recG ruvAB and recG ruvC double mutants were more sensitive to UV, almost as sensitive as the recA mutant and showed more extreme phenotypes concerning filamentation and chromosome nondisjunction, both after UV irradiation and without UV irradiation than either recG or ruv single mutants. The recG polA12 (Ts) mutant, which is temperature sensitive in growth, formed filamentous cells with centrally located chromosome aggregates when grown at nonpermissive temperature similar to the UV irradiated recG mutant. These results support the notion that recG is involved in processing Holliday intermediates in recombination repair in vivo. We suggest that the defect in the processing in the recG mutant results in accumulation of nonpartitioned chromosomes, which are linked by Holliday junctions.

Abstract:This study aimed to assess the effect of palatoplasty on growth velocity in undernourished and nourished orally fed children with cleft palate. Palatoplasty did not clinically improve growth velocity for undernourished children. Objectives To assess the effect of palatoplasty on growth velocity in undernourished and nourished orally fed children with cleft palate. Methods A retrospective chart review was conducted using a data query with cleft‐associated ICD‐10 and ICD‐9 codes to identify children who underwent cleft palate repair between 2006 and 2022 at a tertiary pediatric hospital. Data gathered included demographics, admission variables, weight gain, and weight percentile as per the WHO growth chart data. Inclusion was limited to patients with complete growth data and without parenteral feeding support. Nutritional status was defined as undernourished (≤3rd percentile) and nourished (>3rd percentile). Between and within‐group comparisons were made using nonparametric tests. Results A total of 192 patients met the study criteria. Among undernourished patients, the median pre‐ and postsurgical weekly weight gain was 0.09 kg and 0.05 kg (p = <0.0001), and the median growth percentiles were 0.67% and 1.1%, respectively (p = 0.03). Among nourished patients, the median pre‐ and postsurgical weekly weight gain was 0.12 kg and 0.07 kg (p = <0.0001), and the median growth percentiles were 25.4% and 29.5%, respectively (p = <0.0001). The postsurgical reduction in weight gain per week was similar across nutritional status (p = 0.43), however, the nourished group demonstrated a larger increase in median growth percentile (3.3% vs. 0.23%; p = 0.03). Conclusion This study demonstrates that palatoplasty does not independently improve growth velocity in children who were able to maintain an oral preoperative diet. In the case of undernourished children, there was no clinically significant improvement in postoperative growth percentiles. Level of Evidence 3 Laryngoscope, 2024

Long-term craniofacial morphology in young adults treated for a non-syndromal UCLP: A systematic review

Abstract:Minimizing mid-facial growth impairment is one of the treatment goals in cleft lip and palate surgery. As growth of the maxilla extends into young adulthood, long-term evaluation is essential to make a comprehensive assessment of a treatment protocol. There are numerous treatment approaches for cleft lip/palate surgery, and most have the characteristic distinction between either an early or a late cleft palate closure. PRISMA guidelines were applied to explore the quality of the current literature and to identify treatment factors influencing long-term cephalometric outcomes. The literature search was conducted in Pubmed, The Cochrane Library and Embase. We included studies evaluating cephalometric outcomes (SNA and ANB values on 2D cephalograms) in UCLP patients with a mean age of 16 years and older. Studies with an inadequate description of the timing of surgery were excluded. 17 studies comprising 906 patients were selected and included for critical appraisal. Treatment protocols differed considerably among the included studies and inconsistent methodology was common. Eight studies applied a one-stage procedure, 11 studies performed a two-stage reconstruction, and five studies made use of a vomer flap. Applying a multivariate model, we did not identify any treatment factors that significantly influenced growth (SNA/ANB values), except for the method of inclusion, suggesting the presence of significant selection bias within the studies. The current literature remains inadequate for evidence-based decision making and to advise parents if an early or late palate closure leads to a more favorable maxillary outgrowth. This manuscript will propose guidelines and recommended quality criteria for future studies.
Predictors of Long-Term Protraction Headgear Success in Patients With Cleft Lip and Palate: A 5-Year Follow-Up

Abstract:Patients with cleft lip and palate (CLP) characteristically present with maxillary hypoplasia and class III malocclusion. Protraction headgear (PHG) is a commonly used treatment for this type of malocclusion, with the goal of reducing future surgical needs. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the long-term effects of PHG treatment and determine the pretreatment predictors of long-term PHG success in patients with CLP. Twenty-nine patients with CLP who had undergone PHG treatment from 2012 to 2017 at a single institution were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were included if they had a lateral cephalogram or CBCT before, immediately after, and at least 5 years after their PHG treatment. Patients were divided into surgery and nonsurgery groups based on their 5-year follow-up clinical presentation. Student t tests, Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and a multivariate logistic regression model were used to compare pretreatment and post-treatment changes in both groups. Immediately post-treatment, the maxilla advanced 2.6 mm, the maxillary dentition advanced 4.7 mm, and the mandible rotated downward 5.0 mm and backward 2.6 mm. At long-term follow up the maxilla advanced 0.0 mm while the mandible advanced an additional 7.5 mm. Thus, PHG treatment is effective at improving class III malocclusion in the short term, but may not prevent future surgical need for patients with more severe skeletal discrepancies. Variables predictive of future surgical need include ANB, anterior facial height, overjet, and starting age of treatment, with ANB as the most reliable early predictor.

This study investigates the long-term impact of Furlow double-opposing Z-plasty versus straight-line repair (SLR) techniques on midface growth and subsequent orthognathic surgery.DesignRetrospective cohort study.SettingTertiary children's hospital.Patients/participantsThis study evaluated patients who underwent primary palatoplasty with Furlow or SLR techniques from 1994–2023. Patients were >14 years old at their most recent follow-up.InterventionsNo interventions were performed.Main Outcome Measure(s)Primary outcomes were orthognathic surgery and orthognathic surgery recommendation rates to correct midface hypoplasia (MFH). Cephalometrics at the time of orthognathic surgery recommendation were traced to validate MFH.ResultsIn total, 1857 patients underwent palatoplasty, of which 335 met inclusion criteria (49 SLR, 286 Furlow). Average age at last follow-up was 18.5±2.6 years. Patients who underwent Furlow versus SLR showed no significant difference in orthognathic surgery rates (p=0.428) or recommendation for orthognathic surgery rates (p=0.900). Patients recommended to undergo orthognathic surgery had more negative ANB angles (p<0.001) and smaller SNA angles (p<0.001) than patients not recommended for orthognathic surgery, demonstrating maxillary hypoplasia. Upon multivariate regression, patients with Veau III and IV clefts had an increased need for orthognathic surgery, p=0.047 and p=0.008, respectively.ConclusionsOur findings suggest that higher cleft severity contributes to future orthognathic surgery. However, palatoplasty technique did not influence orthognathic surgery rates. Our results provide valuable data when surgeons are considering the impact of palatoplasty technique on sagittal growth restriction.

Abstract:Background/Objective: Alveolar bone graft (ABG) or repair has become a routine part of treatment protocols for individuals with cleft lip and/or palate. However, the necessity and potential benefits of presurgical orthodontic treatment in influencing the outcomes of secondary alveolar bone grafting remain inconclusive. This systematic review aimed to assess the impact of presurgical orthodontics on preparing patients for secondary alveolar bone grafts. Study Design: The authors systematically searched for relevant articles in PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase databases spanning the period from January 1, 2000, to December 31, 2023, using keywords related to alveolar bone grafting and orthodontic treatment for patients with cleft lip and/or palate. The review encompassed various study designs, including prospective and retrospective studies, observational studies, cross-sectional studies, randomized and nonrandomized clinical trials, cohort studies, and case-control studies. The review adhered to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines, and the risk of bias was evaluated in studies selected for full-text review. Results: The search strategy identified 809 publications. After initial screening and application of exclusion criteria, 11 studies were included for final review. Three were prospective studies, 8 were retrospective studies, and 3 were cross-sectional cohort studies. On the basis of ROBINS-I and RoB 2 risk assessment, 9 studies were found to be of moderate risk of bias, one study was categorized as of high risk of bias, and 1 study was categorized as low risk of bias. Conclusions: Drawing from the latest and most reliable studies, 7 out of 11 included studies provided compelling evidence that presurgical orthodontics preceding alveolar bone grafting (ABG) leads to significantly improved outcomes compared with cases without presurgical orthodontic intervention. Notably, individuals with specific conditions, such as severely collapsed upper arch and mispositioned upper incisors, appear to derive the greatest benefits from presurgical orthodontic treatment. However, a call for additional studies characterized by high methodological quality and with longer follow-up periods is emphasized to enhance the safety considerations for both practitioners and patients concerning the utilization of presurgical orthodontics in the treatment of individuals with cleft lip and palate.

Abstract:Introduction: The association between maxillary protraction and bone graft in patients with cleft lip and palate remains unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether a secondary alveolar bone graft influences dentoskeletal effects of facemask therapy in unilateral cleft lip and palate patients with a skeletal Class III relationship. Methods: In this prospective nonrandomized clinical trial, 61 consecutive boys with unilateral cleft lip and palate and skeletal Class III malocclusion were divided into 3 groups: grafted facemask group (n = 21), ungrafted facemask group (n = 20), and untreated control group (n = 20). Sixteen dentoskeletal measurements on lateral cephalometric radiographs were compared before and after therapy or observation with 1-way analysis of variance or the Mann-Whitney U test. Results: After facemask therapy, the grafted group showed a statistically significantly greater advancement of Point A (S-Vert-A, 4.18 +/- 1.94 mm; SNA, 3.51 degrees +/- 2.21 degrees) than did the ungrafted group (S-Vert-A, 2.64 +/- 1.58 mm; SNA, 1.92 degrees +/- 1.05 degrees). Furthermore, significant SNB changes were found in the grafted group when compared with those in the ungrafted group (-0.38 degrees +/- 1.77 degrees vs -1.69 degrees +/- 1.34 degrees; P < 0.05). The changes in the mandibular plane angle (MP-SN, MP-FH) in the grafted group were less pronounced than in the ungrafted group by approximately 2 degrees (P < 0.05). Flaring of the maxillary incisors was more pronounced in treated subjects than in untreated subjects. The mandibular incisors proclined in both grafted (1.54 degrees +/- 4.21 degrees) and control (0.97 degrees +/- 3.71 degrees) patients, and were retroclined in the ungrafted group (-2.13 degrees +/- 3.68 degrees). Conclusions: Facemask therapy performed after an alveolar bone graft produced more anterior maxillary migration (90%) and less pronounced mandibular clockwise rotation (10%) than those in the ungrafted group (50%, 50%, respectively).

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To examine the effect of pre-surgical orthodontics on the outcome of the secondary alveolar bone grafting in the patients with complete cleft lip and palate.METHODS:Sixteen complete cleft lip and palate patients (9 males and 7 females) with collapsed upper arch or severe mal-positioned upper incisors were selected. The cleft was not easily grafted because of the poor access. The total cleft sites were 22 (10 patients with UCLP and 6 patients with BCLP). The age range of the patients was from 8 to 22 years. Pre-surgical orthodontic treatment was mainly to expand the collapsed upper arch and correct the mal-positioned upper incisors. After the secondary alveolar bone grafting, the patients were followed up and anterior occlusal radiograph/intraoral panograph were taken regularly. The observation period was from 6 months to 4 years. Bergland criteria were used to evaluate the interdental septal height.RESULTS:Upper arch expansion and the correction of the mal-positioned upper incisors done by the orthodontic treatment made the bone grafting procedure easier. The clinically successful rate reached 86%.CONCLUSION:The severe upper arch collapse and mal-positioned upper incisors in the patients with complete cleft lip and palate should be corrected orthodontically before the secondary alveolar bone grafting.

Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of different palatoplasty timing on maxillary development by a retrospective study.Methods 101 UCLP consecutive cases who were older than 10 years were followed up,which were divided into three groups according to the age of operation,first group:0～3.00 years old,second group:3.01～6.00 years old and third group:6.01 years old above.Lateral cephalogram were taken for each patient,and cephalometric analysis were used for assessing maxillary growth.Results The results of cephalometric show that there was no significant difference among three groups for all variable(∠SNA、∠SNB、∠ANB、ANS-Ptm、N-ANS'/N-Me) except Ba-A variable,significant difference existed between 1st and 3rd groups for Ba-A variable justly.However,the mean value of ∠SNA,∠ANB and Ba-A increased along with increase of operation age.Conclusion The maxillary development was better along with increase of operation age.Not only the maxillary position,but also the maxillary length will be hindered by the cleft palate surgery.

Setting University of Tokyo Hospital. Patients and Intervention Eleven Japanese patients with UCLP in mixed dentition were treated with MP and followed up until the completion of growth. Multibracket treatment had been performed after MP treatment in all patients. Main Outcome Measure Lateral cephalograms taken before and after MP and after completion of growth were used. Posterior and anterior vertical reference lines (PV, AV) were used to measure the horizontal movements of point A, pogonion, and maxillary first molar (U6). SNA, SNB, ANB, maxillary and mandibular length, mandibular plane angle, Wits value, upper incisor inclination, overjet, and overbite were also measured. Results Large variation was found in the effects of MP, and five patients eventually required orthognathic surgery. In average change with MP, the maxilla showed favorable forward growth. Point A had moved forward from PV but not AV. The mandible rotated backward. However, ANB and the Wits value did not improve. U6 moved forward, and the overjet improved. After MP, the skeletal Class III relationship became severe. Conclusions MP was effective as an early treatment for UCLP patients. However, its effects showed large variation and were in conflict with facial growth. Conscientious explanation of the expected effects and associated problems should be given to the patients/parents before its application.

Abstract:The crystal structure of Nd(10)W(22)O(81), neodymium tungstate, has been determined using a combination of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and X-ray powder diffraction methods. The unit-cell dimensions determined from X-ray data are a = 3.8613 (1), b = 35.9431 (1), c = 21.8900 (1) A, V = 3038.05 A(3), Z = 2, space group Pbcm. The structure is built up of pentagonal columns (PCs) connected to ReO(3)-type fragments consisting of three octahedra, thus forming W(9)O(32) units. These units form 'pillars' along (a). These 'pillars' are joined by pairs of tilted octahedra (W(2)O(11) groups) to form corrugated layers perpendicular to (b). The Nd atoms are located in the space between these layers and form the only link between them. Interstitial O atoms are located between two of the Nd atoms. The formula Nd(10)W(22)O(81) can thus be alternatively given as Nd(5)W(11)O(39 + x) (x approximately 1.5), where x represents the interstitial O atoms. Nd(10)W(22)O(81) is a new type of PC structure.
The Influence of Lip Repair on the Growth of Craniofacial Structures in Bilateral Cleft Lip and Palate Patients With Unoperated Palate From Childhood to Adulthood

Abstract:Purpose: Surgical treatment of complete bilateral cleft lip and palate (BCLP) is the most difficult procedure among common cleft lip and palate. This study was to research the long-term effect of lip surgery by localizing the craniofacial growth pattern of BCLP patients in the Han people in western China compared with normal healthy people from childhood to adulthood. Patients and methods: A cross-sectional study included a sample of 43 BCLP patients who have received lip repair and a control group of 55 normal healthy people with Angle Class I occlusion at the similar age, gender and ethnicity, and all participants were obtained from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Sichuan University. Sixteen linear and 14 angular bony landmarks were identified on lateral cephalometric radiographs at the average age of 5.6-year-old, 10.7-year-old, and 24.2-year-old. The measurements were used to represent the growth changes of cranial base, bony nasopharynx, maxillary, mandibular and maxilla-mandibular relationship. Between-group differences were assessed by using the Independent-Sample t test. Result: Lip repair has a slow and long-term effect on the craniofacial morphology. The tension from repaired orbicularis oris muscle would cause a decrease in maxillary sagittal length and the retroposition of maxilla combined with the mandibular functional displacement, which would cause a positive change in the postoperative facial morphology of BCLP patients in the long run. Conclusion: BCLP patients who have undergone lip repair at an early age have the potential to develop better facial convexity.
Prognostic Factors for Orthognathic Surgery in Children With Cleft Lip and/or Palate: Dentition and Palatal Morphology

ObjectiveTo determine dental and palatal morphology in children with cleft lip and/or palate (CL/P) and identify morphological prognostic factors for orthognathic surgery (OGS).DesignRetrospective cohort study.SettingOrthodontic department of a university dental hospital.ParticipantsThis study included 80 patients with bilateral and unilateral CL/P who had lateral cephalograms at the ages of 7 (T1), 15 (T2) years, and a dental plaster model at T1.Main Outcome MeasuresPlaster models at T1 were scanned with a three-dimensional (3D) scanner. Morphological features were extracted from 3D models with geometric morphometrics software as principal components (PCs). The combinations of the PCs and other predictive factors (ie, the No. of clefts in the lip and alveolus, the palatal repair method, sex, cephalometric variables at T1, and the No. of missing teeth) were examined by logistic regression to determine the predictability for OGS. The need for OGS and skeletal and dental discrepancies at T2 were examined as outcomes.ResultsShrinkage of the palate, including vertical shallowing and transverse narrowing of the posterior maxilla and cleft-side asymmetry of the anterior maxilla at T1, as well as the No. of clefts in the lip and alveolus, the palatal repair method, male sex, several cephalometric variables for the sagittal and vertical dimensions, and the No. of missing teeth, were found to be predictive factors for OGS.ConclusionsMorphological prognostic factors for OGS in children with CL/P were determined.

Abstract:Background: The aim of this study was to conduct a comparative analysis, utilizing CT scans, of ossification patterns in unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP) patients who underwent early secondary gingivoalveoloplasty (esGAP) versus those who underwent traditional alveolar bone grafting harvested from the iliac crest (IC). Methods: 22 CT scans of patients consecutively treated with esGAP were compared with those of 21 patients treated with bone grafting from iliac crest (IC). Inclusion criteria were non syndromic UCLP patients in permanent dentition. Two parameters were considered: the alveolar thickness, measured at three levels, and the nasoalveolar height. All measurements were normalized and ratios of the affected versus non affected sides were provided as well as the statistical comparison between the two groups' ossification outcomes. Results: In the esGAP sample nasoalveolar height was categorized as ideal and good in 86.36% and in 13.64% of the cases and no mediocre or insufficient ossification was detected, while in the bone grafting sample 38.10% had ideal and good ossification, 14.29% mediocre and 9.52% insufficient. As regard the alveolar thickness, when we consider the average of three levels, for the esGAP sample was ideal and good in 57.57% and in 30.30% of the cases and for the IC sample in 41.27% and in 25.40% of the cases, respectively. The analysis detected a statistically significant difference in the ossification outcomes in the two samples. Conclusion: EsGAP yields superior ossification grades in comparison to IC bone grafting.
