Abstract:The determination of porosity heterogeneity within hydrocarbon reservoirs is important because cost-effective, efficient production of hydrocarbons depends on accurate knowledge of reserve estimates, and hydrocarbon distribution. A new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique, based on the conical SPRITE (Single-Point Ramped Imaging with T1 Enhancement) MRI method is capable of revealing the three-dimensional geometry of porosity distribution in core samples taken from reservoir rocks. Porosity heterogeneity at the core scale is difficult to assess by conventional petrophysical methods. Conventional MRI methods also fail because of complications associated with the multi-exponential nature of spin-spin relaxation time decay and restrictions on the minimal echo time. The SPRITE MRI technique allows direct quantitative measurements of porosity and imaging of samples with short MR signal lifetimes. We illustrate the application of this method to two core samples from the White Rose reservoir: one containing shell fragments and the other fine grained and massive in texture. The data presented in this paper show the potential of the conical SPRITE MRI technique as a tool for porosity heterogeneity evaluation by application of the method to core plugs taken from sandstone reservoir rocks of the White Rose oilfield, located in offshore Newfoundland. The results show that the MRI technique can significantly enhance petrophysical studies on reservoir rocks by providing: 1) direct and non-destructive visualization of three-dimensional data required to model the porous network; 2) spatially resolved porosity throughout the core sample, which allow reveals the porosity heterogeneity and will result in better understanding of reservoir quality.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE Intra-ventricular hemorrhage (IVH) is one of the most serious complications of preterm infants. Significant numbers of the surviving infants with severe IVH go on to develop post-hemorrhagic hydrocephalus (PHH). The management of PHH remains a very challenging problem for both neonatologists and pediatric neurosurgeons. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the use of Ommaya reservoirs and serial cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) drainage in the management of a series of neonates with PHH. METHOD Between January 1, 2003 and December 30, 2005, 15 consecutive newborn infants with IVH grades III to IV, complicated with progressive ventricular dilatation, underwent placement of an Ommaya reservoir. CSF was intermittently aspirated percutaneously from the reservoir. The amount and frequency of CSF aspiration were based on the clinical presentation and the follow-up results of serial cranial ultrasonograms or CT scans. The changes of CSF cell counts and chemistries were also followed. Patients whose progressive ventricular dilatation persisted despite serial CSF aspiration through Ommaya reservoir eventually had ventriculo-peritoneal shunts (V-P shunt) placed. All the patients were followed up in the outpatient clinic after discharge from the hospital and the neurodevelopmental outcomes were evaluated through 18-36 months of age. RESULT A total of 15 infants were included in this series. Of them, 11 were preterm infants who were at gestational ages of 29 to 34 weeks and 4 infants were full-term. All of the 4 full term infants presented with progressive ventricular dilatation after suffering from the intra-cranial hemorrhage (3 infants were due to vitamin K deficiency and 1 was due to birth trauma). Thirteen infants had grade III IVH, and 2 had grade IV IVH based on initial cranial ultrasonographic and CT scans. The mean age when IVH was diagnosed was (9 +/- 1) days in preterm infants and (22 +/- 7) days in full-term infants; the mean age when Ommaya reservoir was placed was (18 +/- 11) days in preterm infants and (31 +/- 7) days in full-term infants. All the infants tolerated the surgical procedure well. The Ommaya reservoir was tapped for an average of (21.5 +/- 4.6) times per patient. The mean CSF volume per tap was (10.2 +/- 1.3) ml/kg. The values of CSF protein, glucose and cell counts slowly reached normal levels at approximately 3 - 5 weeks after the placement of the reservoir. The velocity of head circumference increase per week was less than 1 cm in 13 patients in 1 - 4 weeks after the placement of the reservoir and the size of ventricles decreased gradually. By 12 - 18 months, 12 infants had normal size ventricles, and 1 patient still had mild ventricular dilation at 36 months. Two infants developed progressive hydrocephalus after serial CSF aspiration through Ommaya reservoir. One infant had a V-P shunt placed at 2 months of age and another infant died at 3 months of age at home after parents refused further therapy. Complications consisted of reservoir leaking and CSF infection at 16th day of placement in one patient after repeated tapping. By the end of 18 - 36 months of follow-up, 11 of 14 infants were considered normal, two patients had mild impairment in neurodevelopmental outcome (both had spastic bilateral lower limbs paresis, and one of whom also had amblyopia) and the other had seizure disorder. CONCLUSION The results from this series indicate that the placement of an Ommaya reservoir is relatively safe in newborn infants and is useful in the initial management of neonates with PHH and may be beneficial in improving their neurodevelopmental outcomes. A multicenter randomized trial may be needed to further validate the results of this report.
Sensitive sensing platform based on Co, Mo doped electrospun nanofibers for simultaneous electrochemical detection of dopamine and uric acid

Abstract:Abnormal levels of dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) in the human body are valuable indicators for monitoring human health, as they are associated with certain diseases. Therefore, it is crucial to develop sensitive and simultaneous analytical techniques for DA and UA in diagnosing the related diseases. Herein, the Co- and Mo- doped carbon nanofibers (Co, Mo@CNFs) electrochemical biosensor was developed successfully for the sensitive and accurate simultaneous detection of DA and UA. A straightforward electrospinning technique followed by a carbonization process was employed for the synthesis of Co, Mo@CNFs, and the encapsulation of Co and Mo within CNFs served to not only prevent nanoparticle agglomeration, thus providing more active sites, but also to facilitate rapid electron transfer. By incorporating Co and Mo into CNFs, the electrocatalytic activity of the modified electrode was greatly improved due to the beneficial conductivity and synergistic effects of transition metals. This enhancement effectively addressed issues such as the overlapping anodic peaks that occur when DA and UA are oxidized concurrently. Due to the mentioned synergistic contributions, the modified Co, Mo@CNFs electrode (Co, Mo@CNFs/GCE) achieved remarkable sensitivity for the simultaneous detection of DA and UA, while also exhibiting strong anti-interference ability. The detection limits for DA and UA were 2.35 nmol L-1 and 0.16 μmol L-1, respectively. We applied the developed Co, Mo@CNFs/GCE electrochemical biosensor to detect DA and UA in 50-fold diluted serum and urine samples. The results affirm the biosensor's reliability and precision. Moreover, the developed Co, Mo@CNFs/GCE biosensor demonstrated excellent performance in simultaneously detecting DA and UA, providing an efficient and dependable detection approach for clinical diagnosis and bioanalysis.

Abstract:A cost-effective and environmentally friendly method has been proposed for synthesizing a nanomaterial composed of highly dispersed cerium oxide (CeO2) nanoparticles anchored on sulfur-doped scaly carbon (CeO2@S-SC). This nanomaterial was employed for the modification of a glassy carbon electrode, leading to the development of an electrochemical sensor with the capability of detecting uric acid (UA). The utilization of conductive sulfur-doped scaly carbon as interlayer spacers efficiently inhibited the aggregation of CeO2 nanoparticles and formed a well-defined layered embedding structure. During the subsequent in-situ hydrothermal process, CeO2 was successfully decorated on the obtained sulfur-doped scaly carbon to further enhance its determination property of UA due to its excellent redox activity, good dispersibility, and strong adsorption ability. Benefiting from the inherent advantages of its components and unique structural features, the obtained CeO2@S-SC sensor exhibited a wide linear concentration range from 0.005 to 175 μM with a low limit of detection (3.1 nM). The buffer pH was shown important parameter to UA detection and a suitable pH of 6.0 was selected in terms of high determination ability. Meanwhile, the fabricated sensor demonstrated exceptional levels of selectivity, stability (retained 95% of its initial value after 7 days), reproducibility (RSD=4.5%), and repeatability (RSD=3.6%). Additionally, the newly developed sensor was effectively utilized to detect UA in actual samples with favorable results (recoveries ranging from 92.9% to 105%).

Abstract:Nickel (Ni2+) ion doped zinc oxide-multi-wall carbon nanotubes (NZC) with different composition ratios of MWCNTs (from 0.01 to 0.1 wt%) are synthesized through an in situ sol-gel method. The synthesized NZC nanocomposites (NCs) are used as electrode materials with glassy carbon electrodes (GCEs) for electrochemical detection of uric acid (UA). The cyclic voltammogram of the representative NZC 0.1 modified GCE (NZC 0.1/GCE) revealed the highest electrochemical sensing activity towards the oxidation of UA at 0.37 V in 0.2 M phosphate buffer solution (PBS) having pH 7.4 ± 0.02. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) for the NZC 0.1/GCE are determined to be 5.72 nM and 19.00 nM (S/N = 3) respectively, which is the lowest compared to the literature values reported for enzymatic and non-enzymatic detection techniques. The synergistic effect of NZC 0.1 NCs is proposed as one of the factors for the enhanced electrochemical oxidation of UA complemented by the phase, lattice parameters, functional groups, morphology, elemental compositions, types of bonding and specific surface area with pore size ascertained using various techniques. The synthesized NZC 0.1 NCs are further proposed as selective electrode materials for the electrochemical detection of UA as authenticated further by performing interference tests with other metabolites such as ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA) and d-glucose. The optimized electrochemical studies are further adopted for sensing of UA from human excretion samples using NZC 0.1 NCs.

Abstract:A simple, novel electrochemical sensing platform based on porous g-C3N4 (PCN) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) for the sensitive detection of uric acid (UA) has been proposed. The obtained PCN possessed good biocompatibility and large specific surface area with good dispersion, which was beneficial to electrocatalysis. The introduction of MWCNT as the conducting matrix improved the poor conductivity of PCN. Due to synergistic effect, the redox peak currents of UA substantially enhanced at PCN/MWCNT-modified electrode. The oxidation peak current exhibited linear responses to the concentration of UA in the range from 0.2 to 4 μM and 4 to 20 μM, and the limit of detection was calculated as 0.139 μM (signal-to-noise ratio of 3 (S/N = 3)). The sensor based on PCN/MWCNT-modified electrode was also successfully applied in human serums and also showed excellent selectivity, reproducibility, and stability. This work illustrated that the fabricated electrochemical sensor was promising for analytical applications.

Abstract:Engineering the electrocatalyst's nanostructure is key-factor in constructing a high-performance electrochemical sensor. The MXene vanadium carbide (V 8 C 7 Tx; VC) nanosheets encapsulating graphitic carbon nanosheets nanocomposite (VC/g-CN NSs NC) as an effective electrocatalyst for detecting clioquinol (CQL) is reported here. The interconnected VC and g-CN nanosheets form a very effective conductive network. The high concentration of O-terminated functional groups in the oxidized VC and the abundant surface area of g-CN contribute to the enhanced electrocatalytic effectiveness of the nanocomposite. The synergistic interaction between the VC NSs and g-CN NSs creates a nanocomposite ideal for CQL detection because it offers many active sites with a fast electron transfer rate. A lower oxidation potential and higher peak current responsiveness distinguish the proposed drug sensor from previously described CQL sensors. Under optimal conditions, the constructed sensors showed strong analytical performance, as shown by a low detection limit of 2.2 nM, high sensitivity of 15.6 μA μM −1 cm −2 , a broad linear range of 0.3–220 μM, and significant recovery outcomes in the analysis of real samples. Thus, the VC/g-CN NSs NC material has promise for use in high-performance electrochemical applications. Zearalenone is one of the mycotoxins found in cereals, and its toxicity poses a serious risk to humans. For this concern, a simple ceria silver co doped zinc oxide (Ce-Ag/ZnO) catalyst was prepared by coprecipitation approach. The physical properties of the catalyst were characterized by XRD, FTIR, XPS, FESEM, and TEM. The Ce-Ag/ZnO catalyst was used as an electrode material for the detection of ZEN in food samples due to its synergistic effect and high catalytic activity. The sensor exhibits good catalytic performance with a detection limit of 0.26 μg/mL. Moreover, the efficiency of the prepared sensor was confirmed by selectivity in interference studies and real-time analysis in food samples. Our research is an essential technique for using trimetallic heterostructures to study the construction of sensors. The environmental toxicity of sulfa drugs has attracted significant attention worldwide. Herein, we constructed a carbon-decorated BiPO 4 rod-modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for electrochemical detection of sulfamethazine (SMZ). The composite was prepared based on carbon black (CB) and BiPO 4 rods by a simple, greener, nontoxic, and cost-effective ultrasonication method. The physicochemical and electrochemical properties of CB/BiPO 4 composite has characterized using different physicochemical and electrochemical techniques. The developed CB/BiPO 4 composites modified GCE exhibited effective electrochemical active surface area and fast electron transfer rate towards SMZ determination. The developed sensor found wide linear ranges, low limit of detection (LOD), excellent sensitivity, and selectivity. Additionally, the developed sensor successfully analyzed the practical applicability with satisfactory outcomes. Therefore, the present report demonstrates the cheap and cost-effective platform for hazardous SMZ determination. Generally, the nanoparticle along with the nanosheet architecture has excellent physiochemical properties at the interface of electrode and electrolyte. In this work, the SrFe 2 O 4 nanorod was prepared through the simple hydrothermal method, as well as the S-GCN prepared (urea + thiourea) by thermal polymerization, and using the solvent evaporation process SrFe 2 O 4 nanorod was decorated on the S-GCN nanosheet, which is used for the electrochemical detection of flufenamic acid (FFA). The electrocatalytic activity of the bare GCE was enhanced by the SrFe 2 O 4 /S-GCN because SrFe 2 O 4 has more active sides and S-GCN has a large surface area which is confirmed by the EIS and CV analysis. Moreover, the synergistic effect between SrFe 2 O 4 nanorods and the S-GCN nanosheet provides the fast electron transfer property and enhanced electrocatalytic activity towards the FFA. Our proposed sensor exposed the lower level of the detection limit of 0.004 μM and the linear range of 0.01–384 μM with the LOQ of 0.015 μM. Furthermor -Abstract Truncated-

Abstract:Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) have much interest in the catalytic research community but are less attracted by the sensor society for their poor conductivity. In the present work, we report a novel Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-67 (ZIF-67) and MWCNT's-ZIF-67 nanocomposites based on non-enzymatic electrochemical sensors for sensing uric acid in human urea. The conductivity and binding affinity of ZIF-67 are improved by the addition of MWCNTs. Initially, ZIF-67 powders were prepared by facile in-situ synthesis method and then the MWCNTs were introduced into ZIF-67 powders. To achieve better bonding between the carbon and the ZIF-67, MWCNT's functionalized to attach hydroxyl, carboxyl, and carbonyl groups on the surface of the carbon tubes. The obtained nanopowders were spectroscopically analyzed by using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, FESEM, and Raman analysis. The MWCNTs-ZIF-67 modified electrode offered the detection limit of uric acid with 1.18 μM and a sensitivity of 97.9 nA μM -1 . The sensitivity was performed within two seconds with a linear response (R 2 =0.99). Fifteen repeated cyclic voltammetric responses were recorded to 0.1M of uric acid to analyze the stability and reproducibility of the electrode. All the sensor responses were determined in comparison with ZIF-67 with MWCNT-ZIF-67 modified electrode performance. In the present work, the catalytic MOFs with low conductivity was modified with MWCNTs and used for ultra-fast and highly-sensitive sensing of uric acid. Abstract:It is now widely appreciated that drug metabolites, in addition to the parent drugs themselves, can mediate the serious adverse effects exhibited by some new therapeutic agents, and as a result, there has been heightened interest in the field of drug metabolism from researchers in academia, the pharmaceutical industry, and regulatory agencies. Much progress has been made in recent years in understanding mechanisms of toxicities caused by drug metabolites, and in understanding the numerous factors that influence individual exposure to products of drug biotransformation. This review addresses some of these factors, including the role of drug-drug interactions, reactive metabolite formation, individual susceptibility, and species differences in drug disposition caused by genetic polymorphisms in drug-metabolizing enzymes. Examples are provided of adverse reactions that are linked to drug metabolism, and the mechanisms underlying variability in toxic response are discussed. Finally, some future directions for research in this field are highlighted in the context of the discovery and development of new therapeutic agents.

Abstract:A three dimensional (3D) nanostructured composite based on the self-assembly of MoS2 nanospheres and polyaniline (PANI) loaded on reduced graphene oxide (denoted by 3D MoS2-PANI/rGO) was prepared via a feasible one-pot hydrothermal process. The 3D MoS2-PANI/rGO nanocomposite not only exhibits good functionality and bioaffinity but also displays high electrochemical catalytic activity. As such, the developed 3D MoS2-PANI/rGO nanocomposite can be employed as the sensing platform for simultaneously detecting small biomolecules, i.e., ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA), and uric acid (UA). The peak currents obtained from the differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) measurements depended linearly on the concentrations in the wide range from 50 mu M to 8.0 mM, 5.0 to 500 mu M, and 1.0 to 500 mu M, giving low detection limits of 22.20, 0.70, and 0.36 mu M for AA, DA, and UA, respectively. Furthermore, the 3D MoS2-PANI/rGO-based electrochemical sensor also exhibited high selectivity, good reproducibility and stability toward small molecule detection. The present sensing strategy based on 3D MoS2-PANI/rGO suggests a good reliability in the trace determination of electroactive biomolecules.

Abstract:Uric acid and dopamine are closely related to the health of the organism, so it is important to determine them simultaneously and efficiently. In this paper, the metal-organic framework DUT-67 was in situ grown on the surface of bimetallic oxide ZnCo 2 O 4 nanoflowers , and then ultrasonically compounded with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) to prepare DUT-67/ZnCo 2 O 4 -MWCNTs composite. The prepared composite was characterized by XRD, SEM, XPS, FTIR, BET and other techniques. Finally, an electrochemical sensor based on DUT-67/ZnCo 2 O 4 -MWCNTs composite modified glassy carbon electrode for simultaneous detection of dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) was fabricated. The introduction of ZnCo 2 O 4 into the composite efficiently overcame the disadvantage of the easy aggregation of DUT-67 and produced a synergistic effect with MWCNTs. The electron transfer rate between the electrode and the electrolyte solution was accelerated, and the detection signals of the target molecules were amplified. After characterizing the electrochemical properties of the composite electrode, it was found that the constructed electrochemical sensor showed low detection limits for DA and UA, which were 12 nM and 8.7 nM, respectively, and the wide linear range of 1.0–180.0 μM. Besides, the sensor had excellent reproducibility, repeatability, anti-interference and stability. The proposed sensor was also successfully used to determine the contents of DA and UA in dopamine injection and urine samples with relatively satisfactory recovery rates. This work not only provides a new strategy for the preparation of MOF modified electrodes, but also has a potential application prospect in bioassays.

Electrochemical sensing for simultaneous determination of dopamine and acetaminophen based on ZIF-8@ZIF-67 derived Co/Mo 2 C embedded in N-doped carbon hollow nanocages

Abstract:The exploration of an economical and efficient noble metal-free heterogeneous catalyst is of great significance for the construction of an electrochemical method for the simultaneous detection of Dopamine (DA) and acetaminophen (AC). In this paper, we employed a facile strategy to obtain Co/Mo 2 C nanoparticles embedded in nitrogen-doped carbon hollow nanocages (Co/Mo 2 C@N-C HNCs) heterogeneous structure by pyrolyzing ZIF-8@ZIF-67 precursor. The unique hollow structure ensures a fast electron transport channel, N doping regulates the local electronic structure of the catalyst, and the synergistic effect with Mo 2 C and Co nanoparticles provides more electrocatalytic active sites. The Co/Mo 2 C@N-C HNCs electrode separates the overlapping voltammetry peaks of DA and AC into two distinct voltammetry peaks (△E=200 mV), thereby selectively determining DA in the presence of AC and vice versa. The transfer coefficient (α) and electron transfer number (n) of DA and AC electrocatalytic oxidation were also studied. Using Co/Mo 2 C@N-C HNCs as electrode, an electrochemical sensor platform for the simultaneous detection of acetaminophen (AC) and dopamine (DA) was first constructed with linear range of 1–185 μM, and 1–100 μM and low detection limit of 0.35 μM and 0.46 μM for AC and DA, respectively. Satisfactory results have been obtained in the determination of human serum and acetaminophen tablets samples. DFT calculation reveals the molecular mechanisms for DA and AC interacting with the Co/Mo 2 C@N-C HNCs catalysts. This strategy provides a new idea for the selective determination of several analytes in complex substrates.

Abstract:In this study, cannibalistic and predatory responses of juvenile Neogobius melanostomus (either fed or deprived of food and caught during the reproductive summer or non-reproductive winter season) to water washings of fertilized eggs from conspecifics (N. melanostomus), heterospecifics (rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss) and control lake water were tested. Fed juveniles (summer season) spent significantly more time on the side of the flume containing stimuli from conspecific eggs over control water, while significantly preferring control water to heterospecific stimuli. In addition, fish showed a significant preference towards stimuli from conspecific eggs over heterospecific stimuli by associating near conspecific egg odours 1·5 times longer [Correction added after online publication 28 April 2011, text changed]. Fish that were deprived of food, regardless of whether caught during the summer or winter season, did not show any preference towards either conspecific or heterospecific stimuli. These findings show that conspecific egg odours attract fed juveniles and that there is a potential to lure fish to odour traps as a means of control.
Simultaneous Electrochemical Detection of Dopamine and Uric Acid via Au@Cu‐Metal Organic Framework

Abstract:The incorporation of noble metals with metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) are conducive for simultaneous electrochemical detection of analytes owing to multiple accessible reaction sites. Herein, Au@Cu‐metal organic framework (Au@Cu‐MOF) is successfully synthesized and modified a screen‐printed carbon electrode (SPCE), which serves as an excellent electrocatalyst for the oxidation of dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA). The sensor shows a linear range from 10 μM to 1000 μM, with sensitivity and detection limit of 0.231 μA μM−1 cm−2 and 3.40 μM for DA, and 0.275 μA μM−1 cm−2 and 10.36 μM for UA. Au@Cu‐MOF could realize the individual and simultaneous electrochemical sensing of DA and UA, with distinguishable oxidation peak potentials. Moreover, it exhibits reproducibility, repeatability, and stability. Ultimately, the sensor provides an avenue for an ultrasensitive label‐free electrochemical detection of DA and UA

Abstract:It is of great significance for electrochemical sensors to simultaneously detect dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) related to biological metabolism. In this work, two-dimensional (2D) porous carbon nanosheets (CNS) was prepared as electrocatalysts to improve the sensitivity, the selectivity, and the detection limit of the simultaneous detection. First, 2D amorphous iron-metal organic frameworks (Fe-MOF) was synthesized with Fe3+ and terephthalic acid via a facile wet chemistry method at room temperature. And then, CNS was prepared by pyrolysis and pickling of Fe-MOF. CNS had large specific surface area, good electrical conductivity and lots of carbon defects. The response currents of the CNS modified electrode was larger than those of the control electrodes in the simultaneous determination. The simultaneous determination were measured via difference pulse voltammetry to reduce the effect of capacitive currents on quantitative analysis. The CNS modified electrodes showed high sensitivity and low detection limit for the simultaneous detection of DA and UA. The modified electrodes have been successfully used to detect DA and UA in normal human serum.

Abstract:Herein, we fabricated a feasible and accurate sensing platform for the quantification of toxic organic pollutant 2-nitroaniline (2-NA) in water samples through electrocatalyst made up of bismuth molybdate (Bi2MoO6, BMO) functionalized carbon nanofiber (f-CNF) modified electrode. The preparation of BMO/f-CNF composite is of two methods, such as co-precipitation (C-BMO/f-CNF) and ultrasonication method (U-BMO/f-CNF). The physicochemical properties of the composites were characterized by XRD, FTIR, Raman, BET, FE-SEM, and HR-TEM techniques. At U-BMO/f-CNF, the charge transfer resistance was low (Rct = 12.47 Ω) compared to C-BMO/f-CNF because nanosized U-BMO particles correctly aim at the defective sites of the f-CNF surface wall. Further, the electrocatalytic activity of C&U-BMO/f-CNF composites was examined by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry techniques (DPV) for the electrochemical detection of 2-nitroaniline (2-NA). The U-BMO/f-CNF/GCE shows a higher cathodic current, wide dynamic linear range of 0.01-168.01 µM, and superior electrocatalytic activity with a low detection limit (0.0437 µM) and good sensitivity (0.6857 μA μM-1 cm-2). The excellent selectivity nature of U-BMO/f-CNF/GCE was observed in the presence of various organic pollutants and a few toxic metal cations. The practical applicability such as stability, repeatability towards 2-NA outcomes with accepted results. Besides, the practical viability of as proposed U-BMO/f-CNF sensor was investigated in soil and lake water samples delivers good recovery results. Hence from these analyses, we conclude that U-BMO/f-CNF/GCE potential for the determination of hazardous environmental pollutant 2-NA.

Abstract:As nanomaterials have a high surface-to-volume ratio, they have very specific features and therefore can be employed in a variety of applications. The development of electrochemical sensors based on novel nanocatalysts for detecting hazardous compounds is a primary concern. In the present work, we have proposed a novel synthesis protocol for a MoS2 sphere-combined sulfur-doped Ti3C2 MXene nanocatalyst (MoS2/S-Ti3C2) and evaluated its electrochemical sensing performance. The structural characterization of this novel nanocatalyst revealed that it was successfully synthesized using a hydrothermal process. In addition, the electrochemical activity of different quantities of the MoS2/S-Ti3C2 nanocatalyst loaded onto a laser-induced graphene electrode (LGE) was investigated, and it was discovered that 8 μL of MoS2/S-Ti3C2 has the highest electrochemical activity. The as-fabricated MoS2/S-Ti3C2/LGE was used as a novel electrochemical sensing medium for the hazardous aristolochic acid (AA) and roxarsone (ROX) detection. Interestingly, the proposed MoS2/S-Ti3C2/LGE sensor exhibited a high sensitivity of 69.955 and 32.488 μA μM–1 cm–2 for AA and 56.972 and 19.688 μA μM–1 cm–2 for ROX with a detection limit of 1.65 and 2.31 nM, respectively, in the concentration range of 0.01–875.01 μM. In addition, the influence of few selected potential interferences does not show a significant effect on the sensing of AA and ROX, making it the best sensing device for practicability analysis. Moreover, the practical application of the fabricated sensor was successfully evaluated in asarum sieboldii, human urine, and human blood serum samples with a recovery rate of 97.00–99.00%.

Abstract:<p>An electrochemical sensing platform for simultaneous determination of dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) is constructed based on covalent organic framework materials (IL COF-1), aminofunctionalized carbon nanotubes (MWCNT-NH<sub>2</sub>), and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). The prepared sensor shows a good performance in detection of DA and UA due to porosity, large specific surface area, high conductivity and more active sites of the composite modified material. Under optimized experimental conditions, the constructed electrochemical sensor has sensitive response and good linearity to both DA and UA. Their wide linear ranges are 0.7–108 μM and 0.97–200 μM, and the detection limits are 0.21 μM and 0.29 μM (S/N = 3), respectively. The developed method has been successfully employed to determine the contents of DA and UA in dopamine injection and human urine samples. It has a satisfactory recovery rate, and the relative standard deviations (RSD) of three parallel determinations are all below 5.0%. In comparison, the constructed sensor platform has superior performance including low cost, simple structure, wide linear range and high sensitivity than some traditional methods, which is expected to be widely used in real sample analysis.</p>
