Abstract:Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a potentially lethal disease. Syncope or seizure as a presenting symptom of PE is very difficult to diagnose. We report a patient with PE presenting recurrent transient loss of consciousness including both syncope and seizure. A previously healthy 51-year-old woman with unremarkable family history and personal history was referred to our hospital for evaluation of recurrent transient loss of consciousness. Half a month before admission, she had approximately 60 seconds of loss of consciousness with urinary and fecal incontinence when getting up in the morning. She had no tonic-clonic activity. She was brought to the local hospital. There in the afternoon she experienced another transient loss of consciousness the same as the previous episode in the morning. Three days before admission, she encountered a third lapse in consciousness. Her husband witnessed the 60 seconds spell characterized by tonic bilateral upgaze with head twitching to the right upper and extensor posturing of all four extremities. Then she was transferred to our hospital from the local hospital. On physical examination, she was alert without evidence of respiratory distress and showed no signs of cyanosis. Her blood was 110/70 mmHg without orthostatic change. The chest examination revealed no abnormal findings. There was no hepatomegaly or splenomegaly on abdominal examination. And neurologic examination was also normal. Objective tests including a head CT and brain MRI were normal. The electroencephalogram (EEG) was also unremarkable. The level of D-dimer was 1018 μg/L. A Doppler scan of the lower extremities revealed no deep venous thrombosis. A chest CT showed vague opacities in the upper lobe of right lung and bilateral small pleural effusions. The ECG revealed a sinus tachycardia and an echocardiogram showed elevated pulmonary artery pressure with normal left and right ventricles. And Hotler did not reveal long Q-T interval or any arrhythmias. On the sixth hospital day during defecating in the morning, she suddenly fell to the ground and was witnessed by an approximately 30 seconds spell characterized by tonic bilateral upgaze and extensor posturing of all four extremities without urinary and fecal incontinence. Postictally, she complained of weakness and denied chest pain or dyspnea. On examination, she was tachycardic, tachypneic, and normotensive. She had a pulse oximetry value of 100% while receiving 30% oxygen. Two hours later, she became hypoxic and hypotensive and required intravenous administration of pressor agents. She had a pulse oximetry value of 86% while receiving 100% oxygen by face mask, becoming obviously cyanotic and progressive dyspnea. Emergent CT angiograms confirmed PE (Figure 1). She was subsequently treated with bolus urokinase and followed by subcutaneous injection of low molecular weight heparin, which resulted in clinical improvement. She was discharged home on the eighteenth hospital day with a regimen of warfarin.Figure 1.: Contrast-enhanced CT angiograms show bilateral pulmonary embolism (arrows).Here we report a patient with recurrent PE which resulted in recurrent attacks of syncope and seizure, as emboli were detected in both left and right pulmonary arteries. PE triggered vaso-vagal reflex, ventricular failure, impaired left ventricular filling, and arterial hypotension were the mechanisms involved in our patient.1,2 D-dimer test and CT angiograms are now widely used in diagnostic algorithms for the evaluation of PE, and prompt medications with thrombolytic therapy and anticoagulation might be life-saving.3
Clinical Value of Electrocardiogram in Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute Pulmonary Embolism

Abstract:Objective To evaluate clinical value of ECG in diagnosis and treatment of acute pulmonary embolism(APE). Methods ECGs recorded in admission and one week after thrombolysis in 38 patients with APE were analyzed retrospectively. Results Main manifestations of ECG in admission were:SI0.1 mV in 32 cases(84.21%), SIQⅢTⅢ pattern in 23 cases(60.53%), QⅢTⅢ pattern in 21 cases (55.26%), TⅢ inversion in 29 cases(76.32%), T waves inversion in V1～2 in 26 cases(68.42%),T waves inversion in V1～3 in 19 cases(50.0%). T wave inversion was symmetrical. One week after thrombolysis, number of cases with SI0.1mV, SIQⅢTⅢ pattern and QⅢTⅢ pattern on ECG was significantly reduced when compared to that before thrombolysis(all P0.05) and T wave inversion in precordial leads deepened in most cases. Conclusion Although ECG manifestations of APE are non-specific, their dynamic changes combined with clinical data may be useful in diagnosis and treatment of APE.
Clinical analysis of acute pulmonary embolism in 49 cases

Abstract:Objective To elevate recognition of pulmonary embolism(PE)by analysing its clinical characteristic.Methods Risk factors,clinical presentation,auxiliary examination and treatment of 49 patients with established acute pulmonary embolism were analyzed retrospectively.Results PE has a wide range of clinical presentation.The most common symptoms are dyspnoea and chest pain.In all 49 patients with pulmonary embolism,9 cases had typical findings S_ⅠQ_ⅢT_Ⅲ on ECG,30 cases had found deep vein thrombosis by ultrasonic cardiogram.82.9% had D-dimer >500 μg/L.91.4% had abnomal pulmonary perfusion/ventilation imaging,the spiral computed tomography(sCT)showed the positive rate of PE was 87.5%.Twenty patients received thrombolytic therapy and 19 cases had recovered or improved.Conclusion Because the symptoms of PE are unspecific,we shoud do auxiliary examination in suspected patients rationally.Thrombolytic and anticoagulant therapy can improve the survival rate of patients with pulmonary embolism.
A Rare Long-Term Undetected Pheochromocytoma Leading to Takotsubo Syndrome in an Older Male Patient: a Case Report

Abstract:Background Takotsubo syndrome is an uncommon, acute, and reversible cardiomyopathy that occurs primarily in postmenopausal females. The clinical presentation of the syndrome resembles acute coronary syndrome, but coronary angiography reveals no obstructive coronary artery disease. Rarely, a catecholamine surge due to pheochromocytoma may induce Takotsubo syndrome. The clinical features of pheochromocytoma include paroxysmal hypertension, headache, palpitations, and profuse sweating. However, owing to the episodic, rather than continued, symptoms and signs of pheochromocytoma, its timely diagnosis poses a challenge for clinicians. Here, we report a rare case of long-term undetected pheochromocytoma leading to Takotsubo syndrome in an older male patient. Case presentation A 70-year-old man presented with paroxysmal chest distress and chest pain. Examinations revealed acute coronary syndrome with normal coronary arteries, heart failure, reversible left ventricular regional wall motion abnormalities, labile blood pressure, a giant left adrenal mass, and extremely high levels of metanephrine and normetanephrine. Clinical manifestations, laboratory reports, and imaging findings suggested a diagnosis of Takotsubo syndrome caused by pheochromocytoma. Supportive therapy, administration of alpha- adrenergic receptor blockers, and left adrenal mass resection resolved the patient’s symptoms. A histological examination confirmed the presence of pheochromocytoma. We reviewed his history of midbrain hemorrhage 6 years prior and found a mass in the left adrenal region by reviewing the computed tomography images of the lung that were also taken 6 years prior, on which the pheochromocytoma was evident. Conclusions Our case illustrates the importance of understanding the link between pheochromocytoma and Takotsubo syndrome. A diagnosis of pheochromocytoma-induced Takotsubo syndrome should be considered during the differential diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome, especially in patients with labile blood pressure and normal coronary angiography findings; meanwhile, assessments of catecholamines and its metabolites and abdominal computed tomography scan should be performed at the right time. Clinicians should also be alert to potential pheochromocytoma in patients with unexplained cerebral hemorrhage, even in the absence of symptoms of catecholamine excess.

Abstract:A case of torsade de pointes (TdP) with complete atrioventricular block and pacemaker failure that was misdiagnosed as epilepsy is presented herein. An 82-year-old female with recurrent seizure-like attacks showed epileptiform discharge during an electroencephalogram recording. A long QT interval and severe hypokalemia induced runs of TdP, which was related to pacemaker lead fracture, was detected during Holter recording and accompanied with episodes of seizures. After a DDD pacemaker with a new ventricular lead was replaced, there was no recurrence of any seizure-like attacks. Bradycardia-mediated TdP associated with complete atrioventricular block should not be missed in patients with recurrent seizure-like attacks even after pacemaker implantation.

Abstract:Background: Pulmonary embolism (PE) typically presents with chest pain, tachypnea, hemoptysis, syncope, and increased markers of myocardial injury. On an electrocardiogram (ECG), sinus tachycardia, right bundle branch block (RBBB), S1Q3T3 pattern, and/or precordial T-wave inversion may be observed. Despite being one of the common causes of chest pain, a third-degree atrioventricular block (III° AVB) is rare in cases of PE, which can lead to difficulties in diagnosis or even overlooking this condition. Case summary: In this case report, we present a patient who was transferred to our hospital with suspected acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The patient's ECG showed ST-segment elevation in the inferior wall and a III° AVB, combined with significantly increased markers of myocardial injury. Interestingly, the patient also had a history of cerebral hemorrhage (ICH) for 7 days prior to being transferred to our hospital. After undergoing a systematic examination and evaluation, the final diagnosis for the patient was PE. Conclusions: In addition to considering common symptoms, it is important not to overlook rare symptoms when diagnosing a disease. This case serves as an example of how the misdiagnosis rate for PE can be reduced by conducting a comprehensive clinical evaluation and paying attention to all clinical clues and examination results.

Abstract:BACKGROUND Cardiac injury may occur after acute pathology of central nervous system（CNS）without any evidence of primary cardiac diseases.The resulting structural and/or functional changes are called cerebrocardiac syndrome（CCS）.The great majority of studies have been performed in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage（SAH）, while CCS data after intracerebral hemorrhage（ICH） are rare.It may cause diagnostic and therapeutic pitfalls for the clinician due to a lack of specific clinical manifestations and diagnostic methods.Understanding the underlying pathophysiological and molecular mechanism（s） following cerebrovascular incidents will help to implement prevention and treatment strategies to improve the prognosis.CASE SUMMARY A 37-year-old man with a history of hypertension presented to our department on an emergency basis because of a sudden dizziness and left limb weakness.Cerebral computed tomography（CT） suggested ICH in the occipital and parietal lobes, and the chosen emergency treatment was hematoma evacuation.Left ventricular（LV） dysfunction occurred after the next 48 h and the electrocardiogram（ECG） showed non-ST elevation myocardial infarction.CCS was suspected first in the context of ICH due to the negative result of the coronary CT angiogram.CONCLUSION Misinterpretation of ischemic-like ECGs may lead to unnecessary or hazardous interventions and cause undue delay of rehabilitation after stroke.Our objective is to highlight the clinical implications of CCS and we hope the differential diagnoses will be considered in patients with acute CNS diseases.

Abstract:Background Isolated syncope as the manifestation of pulmonary embolism (PE) is a rare and diagnostically challenging presentation that often leads to delayed or missed diagnosis, increasing morbidity and mortality. Despite emphasizing cardiovascular etiologies of syncope, current guidelines offer essentially no guidance in establishing a diagnostic workup for PE in these patients. By performing bedside echocardiography, emergency physicians can accurately identify concerning features suggestive of PE in syncope patients. Case Report A 78-year-old male receiving ertapenem via a peripherally inserted central catheter for treatment of extended spectrum β-lactamase urinary tract infection, presented to the emergency department for isolated syncope with collapse while urinating. Arriving asymptomatic with normal vital signs and a benign physical examination, a presumptive diagnosis of micturition syncope was made. However, subtle vital sign changes on reassessment prompted performance of a point-of-care echocardiogram revealing signs of right heart strain. A computed tomography angiogram confirmed a saddle PE with extensive bilateral clot burden. Catheter-directed thrombectomy was performed by interventional radiology, with successful removal of pulmonary emboli. Why should an emergency physician be aware of this? Pulmonary embolism presenting as isolated syncope represents a daunting diagnostic dilemma as emergency physicians may not consider it, or anchor on more benign etiologies of syncope. While lacking sufficient sensitivity to rule out PE, point-of-care echocardiography to evaluate for signs of right heart strain can quickly and effectively point towards the diagnosis while also assessing for other emergent cardiovascular causes of syncope. Given the lack of evidence-based guidance concerning PE presenting as syncope, bedside echocardiography should be highly considered as a part of the emergency physician's diagnostic workup, especially in patients with abnormal vital signs.

Abstract:Management of patients with acute chest pain poses a significant challenge in identifying those requiring urgent coronary reperfusion. Electrocardiogram (ECG) constitutes the cornerstone in making prompt clinical decisions by identifying ST‐segment elevation, commonly associated with ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction. It is important to note that ST‐segment elevation can also be a manifestation of various cardiac and non‐cardiac conditions, from acute myocarditis, early repolarization syndrome, acute pericarditis, and left bundle branch block to unknown origins. The similarity of ECG changes among these conditions complicates clinical differential diagnosis, necessitating a detailed medical history and thorough examinations. Here, we presented a case of a 52‐year‐old female with chest pain and unidentified convex ST‐segment elevation. Considering the negative emergent coronary angiography results, normal echocardiography, and long‐lasting ST‐segment elevation for the following 1 year, the final diagnosis was non‐myocardial infarction, probably related to a prior cerebral haemorrhage.

Acute Occlusion of Conus Artery or Right Ventricular Branch Caused Electrocardiogram Changes During Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Abstract:Objective: To explore the acute occlusion of conus artery or right ventricular branch caused electrocardiogram(ECG) changes in patients with right ventricular percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI). Methods: We retrospectively studied the patients who received PCI in our hospital from August 2007 to December 2012, and found 3 patients suffered from acute occlusion of right coronary conus branch or right ventricular branch during PCI procedure. Their ECG showed J point and ST-segment elevation in precordial leads, and 1 presented typical Brugada type change. We summerized the clinical features, coronary angiography and ECG changes in 3 patients. Results: Acute occlusion in right coronary proximal artery(including 2 conus and 1 ventricular branches) could cause ECG changes of J point and ST-segment elevation in precordial leads, even like I type Brugada changes. One of them had continued occlusion in righe ventricular branch, ECG showed persistent J point and ST-segment elevation followed by ventricular fibrillation. Conclusion: Acute occlusion in right coronary artery proximal branch could induce ECG changes of J point and ST- segment elevation in precordial leads, even cause the secondary malignant cardiac arrhythmia.
Rare Presentation of Wide QRS Tachycardia in a Patient in Their 40s

Abstract:This article describes the case of a 40-year-old individual who presented with fulminant myocarditis. Initial ECG displayed sinus tachycardia with a heart rate of 117 bpm, QS complexes in leads V1-V3, ST-segment depression in leads II, III, aVF, V5-V6, and ST-segment elevation >0.2 mV in leads V1 through V3. The initial clinical assessment suggested an acute anteroseptal myocardial infarction. However, subsequent diagnostic evaluation through coronary angiography disclosed that the coronary arteries were normal. Therefore, clinicians should carefully consider the differential diagnosis between these conditions, as their management strategies differ markedly. Two hours after admission, the patient unexpectedly developed syncope. The ECG findings were consistent with the typical characteristics of bidirectional ventricular tachycardia. Our report described the appearance and morphology as well as mechanism of bidirectional ventricular tachycardia in detail. Additionally, we delineate differential diagnoses for disease that can cause bidirectional ventricular tachycardia, such as aconite poisoning, digoxin overdose, immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI), myocardial ischemia, and hereditary channelopathies, such as catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) and Andersen-Tawil syndrome. Therefore, clinicians should recognize this ECG finding immediately and initiate appropriate treatment promptly as these measures may be vital in saving the patient's life.

Abstract:We l l e n s s y n d r o m e i s c h a r a c t e r i z e d b y electrocardiography (ECG) patterns of the biphasic or inverted T wave in the precordial leads with normal R wave progression and absence of Q waves, [1,2] which indicates occlusive lesions of the proximal left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery and warrants. [1] These ECG changes usually occur during a pain-free interval and turn to a fatal consequence if without urgent intervention therapy. [1,3][5][6][7][8] The mechanism of pseudo-Wellens syndrome is not well defined, posing a challenge to the differential diagnosis.Acute myocardial infarction is a common cause of syncope with a variety of ECG abnormalities, [9] but the ECG pattern of Wellens syndrome secondary to syncope has not been reported.We focus on this rare phenomenon and hope to attract emergency physicians' attention.
Acute pulmonary embolism with loss of consciousness as the first manifestation: a case report

Abstract:Background: The clinical manifestations of pulmonary embolism are varied, and atypical pulmonary embolism can easily be missed in some patients, resulting in serious clinical consequences and injuries.Case Description: This report describes a rare case of acute pulmonary embolism with loss of consciousness as the first manifestation. A 50-year-old male was admitted with loss of consciousness and difficulty breathing. Acute coronary syndromes and neurological disorders such as seizures were excluded by clinical history and electrocardiogram dynamic changes. Multiple clues such as coagulation function and myocardial enzymes are highly suggestive of pulmonary embolism, after the completion of computed tomography pulmonary angiogram (CTPA) diagnosis, the severity of the acute pulmonary embolism was evaluated, after which the patient was given low-molecular-weight heparin sequentially overlapping with oral warfarin as the anticoagulation treatment. Following this, the life signs of the patient were stable, and there were no special complaints; thus, this patient was discharged smoothly. As of this writing, the patient is still being followed up clinically with no recurrent embolism or deterioration occurred.Conclusions: This case is of guiding significance for the early detection and rapid diagnosis and treatment of such patients with pulmonary embolism. It is necessary to acquire the vital signs, including those related to heart rate, electrocardiography, respiration, and blood oxygen saturation in the first clinical contact for patients with syncope as soon as possible. Patients with problems related to the above-mentioned basic vital signs should be highly suspected of cardiopulmonary diseases, and CTPA should be performed as soon as possible after the evaluation of the clinical possibility of pulmonary embolism and D-dimer screening. Moreover, the critical degree of pulmonary embolism should be evaluated, and then reperfusion or anticoagulation treatment should be performed appropriately. This should be followed by etiology screening. To avoid recurrence or aggravation of pulmonary embolism, the cause of the disease should be determined and treated.

[High risk syncope in a young patient: An uncommon cause]

Abstract:Syncope is a frequent consult. It's responsible for 1 to 3% of consults to the emergency room in the United States. The cause is generally benign; however, high-risk cases are potentially deadly and must be identified. We present a case report of a 40-year-old female who presents with syncope, Torsade de Pointes, and ventricular fibrillation. The coronary angiography showed no disease of the coronary arteries. The ventriculography, transthoracic echocardiogram, and cardiac magnetic resonance revealed a mid-ventricular Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. The ECG showed a prolonged QT interval with an inverted T wave. During the first 48 hours, she presented multiple episodes of non-sustained polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. The patient evolved with diminished QTc interval and regression of the wall motion abnormalities. At the 6-month follow-up the patient was asymptomatic, without new episodes.
Pulmonary embolism in patients with chronic coronary syndrome masquerading as acute coronary syndrome: a case report and literature review

Abstract:Background: Pulmonary embolisms (PEs) exhibit clinical features similar to those of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), including electrocardiographic abnormalities and elevated troponin levels, which frequently lead to misdiagnoses in emergency situations. Case presentation: Here, we report a case of PE coinciding with chronic coronary syndrome in which the patient's condition was obscured by symptoms mimicking ACS. A 68-year-old female with syncope presented to the hospital. Upon admission, she was found to have elevated troponin levels and an electrocardiogram showing ST-segment changes across multiple leads, which initially led to a diagnosis of ACS. Emergency coronary arteriography revealed occlusion of the posterior branches of the left ventricle of the right coronary artery, but based on the complexity of the intervention, the occlusion was considered chronic rather than acute. On the 3rd day after admission, the patient experienced recurrent chest tightness and shortness of breath, which was confirmed as acute PE by emergency computed tomography pulmonary angiography. Following standardized anticoagulation treatment, the patient improved and was subsequently discharged. Conclusions: This case report highlights the importance of recognizing the nonspecific features of PE. Clinicians should be vigilant when identifying other clinical features that are difficult to explain accompanying the expected disease, and it is necessary to carefully identify the causes to prevent missed diagnoses or misdiagnoses.
Pulmonary Embolism Presenting as ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction: A Diagnostic Trap

Abstract:BACKGROUND The clinical presentation of pulmonary embolism (PE) is highly variable, ranging from no symptoms to shock or sudden death, often making the diagnosis a challenge. An electrocardiogram (EKG) is not a definitive diagnostic tool; however, it can alter the clinical suspicion of acute PE. PE has nonspecific electrocardiographic patterns ranging from a normal EKG in almost 33% of patients to sinus tachycardia, S1Q3T3 pattern (McGinn-White Sign), right axis deviation, and incomplete right bundle branch block (RBBB). ST-segment elevation associated with PE is exceedingly rare, and to date, only a few cases have been reported. CASE REPORT We present a case of a middle-aged male patient with no medical comorbidities other than obesity, who presented with initial symptoms and EKG findings concerning an ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). He was later found to have rather patent coronary arteries on cardiac catheterization but bilateral sub-massive pulmonary embolism on computed tomography angiogram (CTA) of the chest. CONCLUSIONS The differential diagnosis of STEMI is broad, including, but not limited to, Prinzmetal's angina, takotsubo cardiomyopathy, Brugada syndrome, left ventricular aneurysm, hypothermia, hyperkalemia, and acute pericarditis. Pulmonary embolism may present with abnormal EKG and biomarkers that appear to be an acute coronary syndrome, even STEMI. Physicians must maintain a high index of clinical suspicion through risk stratification to identify PE in these settings, as the frequency of such an occurrence is extremely low. A bedside echocardiogram can be an invaluable diagnostic tool in such cases.

Abstract:Objectives: There are conflicting data concerning the prognostic significance of syncope in acute pulmonary embolism (PE). This study aimed to investigate the impact of syncope on clinical outcomes of acute PE, and determine the clinical phenotypes of PE patients with syncope and their correlation with prognosis. Methods: In the ongoing, national, multicenter, registry study, the China pUlmonary thromboembolism REgistry Study (CURES) enrolling consecutive patients with acute PE, patients with and without syncope were investigated. Principal component analysis (PCA) was performed using nine variables relevant to syncope and PE, including age, sex, body mass index, history of cardiovascular disease, recent surgery or trauma, malignancy, pulse, systolic blood pressure, and respiratory rate. Patient classification was performed using cluster analysis based on the PCA-transformed data. The clinical presentation, disease severity and outcomes were compared among the phenotypes. Results: In 7,438 patients with acute PE, 777 (10.4%) had syncope, with younger age, more females and higher body mass index. Patients with syncope had higher frequency of precordial pain, palpitation, and elevated cardiac biomarkers, as well as higher D-Dimer level. In the syncope group, more patients had right ventricular/left ventricular ratio > 0.9 in ultrasonic cardiogram and these patients had higher estimated pulmonary arterial systolic pressure compared with patients without syncope. As the initial antithrombotic treatment, more patients with syncope received systemic thrombolysis. Despite a higher prevalence of hemodynamic instability (OR 7.626, 95% CI 2.960–19.644, P < 0.001), syncope did not increase in-hospital death. Principal component analysis revealed that four independent components accounted for 60.3% of variance. PE patients with syncope were classified into four phenotypes, in which patients with high pulse and respiratory rate had markedly higher all-cause mortality during admission. Conclusion: Syncope was associated with hemodynamic instability and more application of thrombolysis, without increasing in-hospital deaths. Different clinical phenotypes existed in PE patients with syncope, which might be caused by various mechanisms and thus correlated with clinical outcomes.

Abstract:Background: Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is an acute cardiac condition with reversible heart failure which is often triggered by psychological and physical stressful events. Although pulmonary embolism (PE) was reported as a trigger for TTS, the concurrence of TTS and PE has been rarely reported, let alone that triggered by PE. Here we describe a case of a postmenopausal female presenting with symptoms similar to myocardial ischemia, which may be caused by PE, and review the available literature that may help clinicians with their practice to similar situations since no published guidelines are available. Case presentation: An 86-year-old female was referred to the emergency department for unrelieved chest tightness, shortness of breath and back pain. Cardiac biomarkers were mildly elevated and electrocardiogram displayed pathologic Q-waves, ST-segment elevation and inverted T-waves. Unexpectedly, coronary angiography was in absence of obstructed coronary atherosclerosis or acute plaque rupture. Chest computed tomography illustrated multiple pulmonary emboli in bilateral pulmonary arteries. She had suffered from long-term right lower extremity pain and experienced a long railway journey with less activity. Both echocardiogram and cardiac magnetic resonance demonstrated regional hypokinesia of left ventricle. She received anticoagulant and diuretic therapies, three-month follow up after discharge revealed uneventful recovery without any pulmonary emboli or regional motion abnormalities, thus she was retrospectively diagnosed with TTS caused by PE. Conclusion: TTS and PE are scarcely concurrent and PE can exert as a potential trigger for TTS. TTS is easily misdiagnosed, actively seeking possible risk factors of TTS is in favor of early diagnosis and timely intervention. TTS with PE is reversible, timely and effective treatments ensure the best possible outcome.
