Abstract:A novel Fe3O4@MDN magnetic nanomaterial was successfully developed as a magnetic dispersive solid-phase extraction adsorbent for the determination of triazole pesticide residuals in honey samples by high performance liquid chromatography coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS). The macromolecular structure named MDN was coated on the surface of a copolymer synthesized with silyl reagents methacrylic acid-3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl ester (MPS) and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) based on ferriferrous oxide (Fe3O4), whose characteristics were confirmed by a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The proposed magnetic dispersive solid-phase extraction (MDSPE) method provided a rapid, environmentally friendly and magnetic stuff recyclable approach for the triazole pesticide analysis. By means of optimal conditions, the recoveries of 15 triazoles (spiked at 20 mu g kg(-1)) ranged from 90.5 to 105.9%. The method showed good linearity, sensitivity in the range of mu g per kilogram and repeatability (relative standard deviation below 6.8%, n = 5). The proposed method was confirmed to be a simple, rapid and efficient method for the analysis of triazole pesticide residuals in honey samples.

Abstract:A core-shell structured magnetic covalent organic frameworks of the type Fe3O4@COFs was prepared by using the Fe3O4 nanoparticles as magnetic core, and 4,4"-diamino-p-terphenyl and 1,3,5-tris(p-formylphenyl)benzene as two building blocks. The Fe3O4@COFs were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectrum, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, zeta potentiometric analysis, X-ray diffraction, vibrating sample magnetometry, thermogravimetric analysis and the nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms. The Fe3O4@COFs have core-shell structure with average diameter of 200 ± 2.4 nm, a high specific surface area (124 m2·g-1), uniform pore size distribution (3.1 nm), good magnetic responsivity (36.8 emu·g-1), good thermal and chemical stability. They were applied as the sorbents for magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) for fluoroquinolones (FQs) ciprofloxacin, enrofloxacin, lomefloxacin, gatifloxacin, levofloxacin and pefloxacin. The effects of sorbent dosage, extraction time, p H value, ionic strength, desorption solvent and desorption time were investigated. By combining MSPE with HPLC-DAD analysis, a rapid and sensitive method was developed for the enrichment and determination of these FQs. The method had good linearity in the range of 2.5-1500 ng·g-1 FQ concentration range and low limits of detection (0.25-0.5 ng·g-1). The method was successfully applied to the extraction and determination of FQs in (spiked) pork, milk and human plasma samples. Recoveries ranged from 78.7-103.5% (with RSD<6.2%).Schematic representation of the magnetic covalent organic frameworks which prepared by using the Fe3O4 nanoparticles as magnetic core, 4,4"-diamino-p-terphenyl and 1,3,5-tris(p-formylphenyl)benzene as two building blocks. Abstract:In this study, a new metal-organic framework-monolith composite for in-tube solid phase microextraction phase (IT-SPME) of fluoroquinolones (FQs) was prepared. 4-Vinylbenzoic acid was copolymerized with ethylenedimethacrylate in a fused silica capillary to form porous monolith. After that, zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIF-8) were synthesized in situ within the pores and the surface of the monolith by controlled layer-by-layer self-assembly of Zn2+ and imidazole. The introduction of ZIF-8 enhanced the surface area of monolith composite, and thus, improving the extraction performance of IT-SPME for FQs obviously. Under the optimized conditions, a highly sensitive method for the monitoring of FQs residue in water and honey samples was developed by the on-line combination of IT-SPME with high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection (HPLC-FLD). The limits of detection (S/N = 3) for the targeted FQs in water and honey samples were as low as 0.14-0.61 ng/L and 0.39-1.1 ng/L, respectively. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) for intra-day and inter-day assay variability were less than 10% in all samples. The established on-line IT-SPME-HPLC-FLD was successfully used to detect ultra-trace FQs in environmental water and honey samples. Recoveries at different spiked concentrations ranged from 80.1% to 119% and 80.2-117% for water and honey samples, respectively, with satisfactory reproducibility. Compared to up-to-date reported methods, the proposed approach exhibits some features such as high sensitivity, convenience, partial automation, low consumptions of sample and solvent.

Abstract:The extraction of quinolone antibiotics (QAs) is crucial for the environment and human health. In this work, polyacrylonitrile (PAN)/covalent organic framework TpPa–1 nanofiber was prepared by an electrospinning technique and used as an adsorbent for dispersive solid-phase extraction (dSPE) of five QAs in the honey and pork. The morphology and structure of the adsorbent were characterized, and the extraction and desorption conditions for the targeted analytes were optimized. Under the optimal conditions, a sensitive method was developed by using PAN/TpPa–1 nanofiber as an adsorbent coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for five QAs detection. It offered good linearity in the ranges of 0.5–200 ng·mL−1 for pefloxacin, enrofloxacin, and orbifloxacin, and of 1–200 ng·mL−1 for norfloxacin and sarafloxacin with correlation coefficients above 0.9946. The limits of detection (S/N = 3) of five QAs ranged from 0.03 to 0.133 ng·mL−1. The intra-day and inter-day relative standard deviations of the five QAs with the spiked concentration of 50 ng·mL−1 were 2.8–4.0 and 3.0–8.8, respectively. The recoveries of five QAs in the honey and pork samples were 81.6–119.7%, which proved that the proposed method has great potential for the efficient extraction and determination of QAs in complex samples.

Abstract:A high-throughput method using a new ZIF-8@GO thin-film microextraction coating was established for determining macrolides and lincosamides in honey. The coating preparation parameters (ZIF-8@GO synthesis conditions, coating material proportions, dipping time) and analysis parameters (sample diluent solvent, adsorption and desorption conditions using the ZIF-8@GO coating) were optimized. The optimized parameters were: diluent solvent sodium carbonate/sodium bicarbonate buffer solution (pH 9), adsorption time 45 min, desorption time 5 min, desorption solvent 45:40:15 v/v/v methanol/acetonitrile/water. The extracted targets were determined by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry. The recoveries of 10 analytes were 67.5-107.2% and the detection and quantification limits were 0.1-0.4 and 0.4-1.4 mu g/kg, respectively. The method could analyze 96 samples per run. The minimal manual time and effort is required since the bulk of the sample processing is fully automated. It was a useful and efficient method for monitoring drug residues and was successfully used to analyze real samples.
A Generic Guidance and Control Structure for Six-Degree-of-Freedom Conceptual Aircraft Design

Abstract:A control system framework is presented for both real-time and batch six-degree-of-freedom simulation. This framework allows stabilization and control with multiple command options, from body rate control to waypoint guidance. Also, pilot commands can be used to operate the simulation in a pilot-in-the-loop environment. This control system framework is created by using direct vehicle state feedback with nonlinear dynamic inversion. A direct control allocation scheme is used to command aircraft effectors. Online B-matrix estimation is used in the control allocation algorithm for maximum algorithm flexibility. Primary uses for this framework include conceptual design and early preliminary design of aircraft, where vehicle models change rapidly and a knowledge of vehicle six-degree-of-freedom performance is required. A simulated airbreathing hypersonic vehicle and a simulated high performance fighter are controlled to demonstrate the flexibility and utility of the control system.

Abstract:In the present work, a magnetic ionic liquid (MIL) ([Co(DMBG)2][Co(hfaca)3]) was designed and synthesized with both the cation and anion respectively containing a paramagnetic component. With the prepared MIL as the extraction solvent, a vortex-assisted dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (VA-DLLME) method was developed and combined with back-extraction for the enrichment of five fluoroquinolone antibiotics (FQs). The MIL can be easily collected and separated from the aqueous phase under an external magnetic field due to the strong magnetic susceptibility and red color. Some experimental factors affecting the extraction efficiency were investigated, and the optimum extraction efficiency was obtained in a basic solution (pH=9) for the extraction process and with 2% (v/v) formic acid as the back-extraction solvent. Under the optimized extraction and back-extraction conditions, the proposed method was validated and exhibited good linearity with coefficients of determination (R2) above 0.9956 in the range of 2.5–800 ng·mL−1 and 5.0–800 ng·mL−1, low limits of detection (LODs) within 0.75–1.5 ng·mL−1 and satisfactory intra-day and inter-day precisions with relative standard deviations (RSDs) respectively less than 10.6% and 8.6%. Finally, the method was applied for the determination of five FQs in four samples of tap water, milk, honey and chicken, and good precision with RSDs of 0.5–9.5% and acceptable recoveries (73.8–114.3%) were obtained.

Abstract:In this study, a magnetic molecular sieve material (Fe3O4@MCM-48) was synthesized by a combination of solvothermal and self-assembly methods. The physicochemical properties of the magnetic molecular sieve material were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, magnetic hysteresis loop measurements, transmission electron microscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption–desorption analysis, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The as-synthesized nanocomposite showed various advantages, including easy magnetic-assisted separation, high specific surface area, and a highly interwoven and branched mesoporous structure. The Fe3O4@MCM-48 nanocomposite was then used as an effective adsorbent material for magnetic solid-phase extraction of fluoroquinolones (FQs) from water samples. The FQs in the extract were determined via liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry. Adsorption and desorption factors that affected the extraction performance were systematically optimized using spiked purified water samples. Good linearity (with R2 > 0.99) was shown by this FQ detection system for FQ concentrations from 5 to 1000 ng L−1. Moreover, low detection limits (0.7–6.0 ng L−1) and quantitation limits (2.5–20.0 ng L−1) and satisfactory repeatability (relative standard deviation < 10%, n = 6) were achieved for water samples. The developed method was also validated for the analysis of FQs in meat and milk samples. Finally, FQs in food and drinking water samples were successfully determined using the developed method.Graphical abstract

Abstract:A highly fluorinated porphyrin-based covalent organic frameworks magnetic adsorbent (FPy-COF@PDA@Fe 3 O 4 ) was fabricated by using polydopamine (PDA) grafting Fe 3 O 4 nanospheres as magnetic core and FPy-COF as shell for magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) of fluoroquinolones (FQs). FPy-COF was constructed by using 5,15-bis(4-aminophenyl)-10,20-bis(perfluorophenyl)porphyrin and 4,4′-biphenyldicarboxaldehyde as two building blocks. PDA as a bridge grafting on the surface of Fe 3 O 4 nanospheres facilitated the growth of FPy-COF. The morphology and structure of FPy-COF@PDA@Fe 3 O 4 adsorbent were characterized in detail. The prepared magnetic adsorbent exhibited good extraction capability to amphiphilic FQs due to their superior chemical affinities such as fluorophilic interaction and hydrogen-bond interaction from nitrogen-rich skeleton. Under the optimized conditions, the MSPE method combined with high performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection (HPLC–UV) was developed to sensitively quantify trace level of six FQs in milk samples. The developed MSPE-HPLC method showed good linearity with wide concentration range, precision, and low limits of detection (S/N = 3) for six FQs as low as 2.3 ngꞏmL −1 in milk. The extraction recoveries of different spiked concentrations were in the range 77.8–110.4% for milk samples with RSD less than 9.7%.

Abstract:In this study, a magnetic porous polymer composite with both hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups was synthesized for magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) of milk substrates. Optimization was conducted on various parameters, including adsorption dose, solution pH, adsorption time, and some elution conditions. Coupled with a high-performance liquid chromatography fluorescence detector, a novel MSPE method for determination of norfloxacin (NFX), ciprofloxacin (CIP), and enrofloxacin (ENR) in milk was developed based on magnetic metal organic framework polystyrene polymer (Fe3O4@MOF@PLS) as adsorbent. The Fe3O4@MOF@PLS exhibited significantly improved adsorption performance compared to MOF and PLS. Under optimized experimental conditions, the method exhibited good linearity for the three fluoroquinolones (FQs) in the range of 0.5-1000 μg/kg, with limit of detections (LODs) ranging from 0.21 to 1.33 μg/kg, and limit of quantitations (LOQs) from 0.71 to 4.42 μg/kg. The relative standard deviation (RSD) for the three FQs were 3.4-8.8%. The recoveries of three FQs in milk samples ranged from 84.2% to 106.2%. This method was successfully applied to the detection of three FQs in 20 types of milk, demonstrating its simplicity, speed, and effectiveness in analyte enrichment and separation. The method presented advantages in adsorbent dosage, adsorption time, LODs, and LOQs, making it valuable for the analysis and detection of FQs in milk.

Abstract:This study presents a simple and green dispersive micro-solid phase extraction method for preconcentration of acidic quinolones from honey prior to high performance liquid chromatography determination. A two-dimensional nanostructured zinc-aluminum layered double hydroxide was synthesized and used as the sorbent for dispersive micro-solid phase extraction. Its different characteristics from conventional sorbents is that it is dissolvable in acidic solution (pH < 4). After the extraction, the analyte elution step was omitted and thus the use of organic solvents was avoided. The key parameters influencing the extraction efficiency such as the amount of sorbent, pH of sample solution, vortex time, type and volume of acidic solution were investigated and optimized. The method exhibited low limits of detection (3.0-5.0 ng/g), good linearity (10-2000 ng/g) with coefficients of determinations higher than 0.9991, acceptable precision (RSD<9.1%) and accuracy (RE<5.8%). The proposed method is fast, efficient, eco-friendly, and suitable for the determination of acidic quinolones in honey samples.

Abstract:Most of the reported covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are hydrophobic, limiting their adsorption application in sample pretreatment field. In this work, sulphonate functionalized magnetic covalent organic frameworks (COFs) composites were first synthesized by loading gold nanoparticles on Fe3O4@COF(TpBD) surface and then functionalized by sodium 3-mercaptopropanesulphonate immobilization via Au-S bonding formation (denoted as Fe3O4@COF(TpBD)@Au-MPS nanocomposites), which were further utilized as adsorbents for magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) of fluoroquinolones. Compared with Fe3O4@COF(TpBD), the composites exhibited higher affinity to fluoroquinolones. Under optimized conditions, the developed MSPE method coupled with HPLC-MS/MS showed good linearity (R2 ≥0.9989) and yielded low limits of detection (0.1-1.0 μg kg−1) for fluoroquinolones. Moreover, the proposed method was successfully applied to extract fluoroquinolones from spiked meats (pork, chicken and bovine). The satisfactory recoveries were in the range of 82-110.2% with the relative standard deviations (RSDs) lower than 7.7%. These results indicated that the Fe3O4@COF(TpBD)@Au-MPS is a promising magnetic adsorbent for trace fluoroquinolones determination in meat samples. This work not only provided a facile strategy for COF functionalization, but also developed an efficient method for detecting fluoroquinolones in foodstuffs.

Abstract:A magnetic covalent organic framework material was synthesized with a core‐shell structure using a simple solvothermal method. It was prepared with Fe3O4 as the magnetic core, covalent organic framework as the shell, which synthesized from 1,3,5‐triformylphloroglucinol and p‐phenylenediamine by Schiff base reaction. The transmission electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, powder X‐ray diffraction, vibrating sample magnetometer and nitrogen adsorption‐desorption instrument were used to characterize magnetic adsorbent. It has showed a large specific surface area (505.6 m2·g−1), which can provide more adsorption sites. Moreover, the saturation magnetization value was 48.4 emu·g−1 enough to be separated by external magnet. Six kinds of fluoroquinolones (enoxacin, fleroxacin, ofloxacin, norfloxacin, pefloxacin and lomefloxacin) were extracted by magnetic solid phase extraction method with magnetic adsorbent. HPLC analysis detects the entire adsorption and desorption process to further evaluate the optimal extraction and desorption conditions. Under the optimal chromatographic conditions, this method showed a low detection limit (0.05 to 0.20 μg·L−1), good linearity in the range of 0.5 to 200 μg·L−1 and the enrichment factor reaches 115.5‐127.3. Abstract:It is of great interest in the development of reliable strategies for efficient adsorption and enrichment of drug residues in sample pretreatment. In this paper, urea-based porous organic polymers (UPOPs) were synthesized by the atom economic polymerization reaction of 1,4-phenylene diisocyanate (PPDI) and 1,3,5-tris(4-aminophenyl)benzene (TAPB) under mild conditions. Inspired by the versatility of polydopamine (PDA) coating, the UPOPs were successfully decorated on PDA coated-magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4@PDA) via in situ catalyst-free polymerization to afford urea-functionalized porous organic polymers (Fe3O4@). The synthesized adsorbents exhibited good stability, high hydrophicility, microporous and mesoporous structure. The applicability of Fe3O4@ was evaluated as effective adsorbents for the magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) of fluoroquinolones (FQs) from food samples (milk, egg and chicken muscle). Combined with high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) analysis, the optimized method featured low adsorbents dosage (2 mg) and rapid extraction (2 min), which provided a wide linear range (0.1–200.0 ng/g, r ≥ 0.9991) and high sensitivity (LODs: 0.04–0.1 ng/g) for FQs determination. Furthermore, controllable magnetism enable the adsorbents could be easily recovered by external magnet and reused at least eight extraction cycles without decreasing the adsorption performance.

Abstract:This study aimed to develop a continuous magnetic solid phase extraction method in a narrow bore tube for the extraction of tetracycline antibiotics from honey samples before their determination with high performance liquid chromatography–diode array detector. In this work, a magnetic covalent organic framework is used as the sorbent. The extraction method is performed in a narrow bore tube by adding 25 mg of a magnetic sorbent prepared from melamine, barbituric acid, and Fe 3 O 4 into the diluted honey sample solution. By using a magnet, the sorbent is moved up and down through the narrow bore tube for five times to improve extraction efficiency. After adsorption the analytes, they are eluted from the sorbent surface using 2,2–dimethoxypropane under vortexing. Then, by using a magnet, the eluent containing the extracted analytes are taken and evaporated with continuous flow of nitrogen. Finally, the residue containing the enriched analytes is reconstituted in microliter–level of mobile phase and injected into chromatographic system for quantitative analysis. Based on the outcomes, the method demonstrated good linearity (0.37–1000 ng g −1 ), high enrichment factors (175–203), good extraction recoveries (70–81 %), low LODs (0.11–0.18 ng g −1 ) and LOQs (0.37–0.60 ng g −1 ). The proposed method is effectively applied for quantification of tetracyclines in twenty–four honey samples. Considering the results, none of the honey samples was contaminated with the studied antibiotics. Regarding to the above–mentioned analytical advantages of the proposed method, its simplicity and rapidity, and green synthesis of the magnetic sorbent particles, the suggested method can be used as a routine method for the extraction of tetracyclines from honey samples.

Abstract:Fluoroquinolones (FQs) antibiotics, one of the leading environmental pollutants, have ecotoxic effects that can accumulate through ecosystems and harm human health. The determination of FQs is still difficult due to the complex matrix, many interfering factors, and low concentration. Hence, a magnetic microporous organic network (MON) composite denoted as Fe3O4@MON-NH2@CM-β-CD with excellent FQs adsorption performance was prepared by β-CD covalent modification of MON. Based on the existence of π-π packing, hydrophobic interaction, and hydrogen bonding between Fe3O4@MON-NH2@CM-β-CD and FQs, a new magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) method for the enrichment of FQs was developed. Under optimized MSPE conditions, five FQs were detected by HPLC-UV with good linearity (R2≥0.9989) in the range of 0.02-1 μg mL-1, and the detection limits (S/N=3) in the range of 0.0014-0.0023 μg mL-1. The satisfactory recoveries ranged from 93.1-116.2% with the RSDs lower than 8.39% when applied to actual environmental water samples. These results revealed that Fe3O4@MON-NH2@CM-β-CD as an adsorbent for MSPE had excellent performance for FQs extraction from real samples, and the MON material types were expanded through the functionalization of MON, which would have great potential for further application in various analytical methods.

Abstract:Herein, a new, environmentally friendly, and economical magnetic solid-phase extraction method for fluoroquinolones (FQs) from milk samples was developed using novel recyclable zeolitic imidazolate framework functionalized magnetic multiwalled carbon nanotubes (Fe3O4@MWCNTs@SiO2@ZIF-8) as adsorbents. Various characterization techniques, including scanning electron microscopy, N2 adsorption-desorption analysis, and vibrating sample magnetometry, demonstrated that the adsorbent possessed a remarkable specific surface area, pore volume, and superparamagnetic properties, rendering it an excellent adsorbent. Combined with high-performance liquid chromatography, this method exhibited excellent linearity (R2 ≥ 0.9991) over the concentration range of 0.5-500 μg L-1, low limits of detection (0.10-0.34 μg kg-1), and low limits of quantification (0.30-1.00 μg kg-1). Finally, the developed method was successfully applied to analyze FQs in milk samples with recoveries ranging from 83.3% to 107.7% and relative standard deviations below 4.2%. The high efficiency and sensitivity of this method highlight the potential application of Fe3O4@MWCNTs@SiO2@ZIF-8 for analyzing FQs in complex matrices.
