Abstract:Background: With the rapid advancement of the educational reform, the requirements for primary and secondary school teachers are increasing, which makes the work pressure of teachers become greater, which can lead to a variety of mental health problems. It is the primary task to promote the psychological health of primary and secondary school teachers by analyzing the stress of teachers and putting forward reasonable countermeasures. Objective: The study aimed to analyze the direct and indirect effects of occupational stress on the mental health level of primary and secondary school teachers. Methods: 317 teachers from 6 rural primary and secondary schools in Zhejiang province were selected as research subjects. A questionnaire was designed to collect information of occupational stress, mental health, and social support scores. The teachers were compared for differences in gender, marriage status, class teacher, occupational stress, and mental health. The correlation among occupational stress, mental health, and social support was analyzed by structural equation model. Results: The occupational stress of male teachers was higher than that of female teachers in self-development, work load, and career expectation, and the mental health was lower than that of female teachers in work (P < 0.05). The occupational stress of married teachers was significantly higher than that of unmarried teachers, and their mental health was significantly higher than that of unmarried teachers (P < 0.05). The occupational stress of teachers with senior professional titles was lower than that of teachers with primary and intermediate titles in the dimensions of self-development, work load, and career expectation (P < 0.05). The occupational stress of class teachers was higher than that of non-class teachers in terms of student factors, work load, and career expectation (P < 0.05). The direct path coefficient between occupational stress and mental health was -0.421, and the indirect path coefficient between occupational stress and mental health was -0.172. Conclusions: The occupational stress of male, married, class teacher, and teacher with the primary and intermediate titles was significantly greater than that of female, unmarried, non-class teacher, and senior title teacher. In conclusion, the occupational stress of primary and secondary school teachers can not only directly predict the mental health level, but also indirectly affect the mental health level through social support.

Abstract:With the development of society and the rise of women's status, professional women become non-ignorable in the workplace. The development of professional women also results in all kinds of pressure. Through the survey of the status of professional women's occupational pressure, this paper aims to analyze the differences of the total pressure in age, disposition, education, marital status, type of work and demographics, so as to explore the main factors; besides, this paper will also study the coping situation and discuss the relationship between the way of release and occupational pressure. Hope to conduct a more in-depth study of professional women's stress from wider angles in all around, providing a scientific basis for most professional women to adjust the physical and mental state, relieve stress, avoid the negative effects of burnout and improve work efficiency. This research has adopted cluster sampling method, surveyed by way of questionnaire, and discussed the status and influencing factors of women's occupational stress. The investigation on the influencing factors and countermeasures of female occupational stress could provide a more effective way of pressure relief for the majority of women, improve their work efficiency and better serve society! Therefore, it becomes an important topic to study the stress of professional women.
A Survey of Teachers' Status in Mental Health Education Management Based on Big Data Analysis

Abstract:This paper uses the theory of mental health education to conduct an in-depth study and analysis of teachers' educational management, and based on this, it designs a survey method on teachers' status and analyzes its strategic methods based on the results of the survey. Using literature analysis, questionnaires, survey interviews, and statistical analysis, the analysis of mental health of primary and secondary school teachers in the city was made. The results of the survey and analysis of the questionnaire results were used to construct a compatible mental health evaluation model. It was found that the overall level of elementary school teachers' mental health is poor at present, and different levels of mental health were presented with school sections and ages. A total of 286 questionnaires were distributed, 278 valid questionnaires were returned, and statistical analysis was conducted using EXCEL tables based on the collected data. The data analysis results show that the mental health level of teachers in middle school is significantly lower than that of teachers in primary school, and the mental health level of teachers in primary and secondary schools decreases with the increase of age. Therefore, to prevent the small and the gradual, start from the source; do a good job in the publicity of mental health education in peacetime; popularize the knowledge of mental health, so that teachers have a correct understanding of mental health education; improve the professional level of teachers; set up professional teachers in professional positions; establish sound job system and evaluation system, etc. Promote the balanced development of school psychological counseling rooms, strengthen the construction of professional teachers in mental health education, improve various systems of mental health education, comprehensively popularize teachers' mental health education and training, and mobilize teachers' enthusiasm for scientific research on mental health education. Improve the understanding of mental health education in colleges and universities, and regard mental health education as the foundation of all education.

Abstract:Conclusions: To effectively reduce the work burnout of employees, the psychological capital of employees should be improved while reducing the work pressure of employees. Psychological capital is relatively stable for individuals, and companies can increase their mental capital by improving their resilience and self-efficacy, thereby reducing their job burnout. Background: The hope of revitalizing the nation lies in education, and the hope of revitalizing education lies in teachers. Preschool teachers are the main teachers of kindergarten education. Preschool teachers’ teaching behavior has a great influence on children’s psychology. Positive and positive behaviors in preschool teachers’ educational and teaching behaviors will have a good guiding effect on preschool children, and some “psychic violence” phenomena will cause great harm to children’s psychology. Its root lies in the teachers themselves, teachers in the process of teaching and child-rearing in the existence of their own “psychological barriers”. These correct ideas are an important reason. Teachers in kindergartens are the first teachers on the way to children’s growth, so their mental health is crucial. Through practical exploration and thinking, we find that in the process of teachers’ training, we can use the way of educational psychology to explore teachers’ “psychological barriers” and guide them. Factors associated with occupational strain among Chinese teachers: a cross-sectional study

Abstract:Objectives: With the reform of the education system in China, teachers are suffering from more occupational strain, which is believed to impair their working state indirectly and affect their health. This study assessed occupational strain and explored the related factors among Chinese teachers. Study design: Cross-sectional with cluster sampling. Methods: The study population was composed of 3570 school teachers working in 64 primary and middle schools in Heping District in Shenyang, China. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire (the Chinese version of the Occupational Stress Inventory scale). Multivariate linear regression analyses were performed to study the factors related to occupational strain. Results: The average score on the Personal Strain Questionnaire (PSQ) for the whole study population was 106.5 (107.5 in men and 106.3 in women). Teachers with chronic disease, a greater number of days of sick leave, recent experience of a stressful life event and divorced/separated/widowed status tended to suffer greater strain than their peers. Regression analyses showed that the PSQ score was significantly associated with role overload, role boundary, responsibility and physical environment, and inversely associated with recreation and rational coping. The most crucial predictors of occupational strain were chronic disease, days of sick leave, recent experience of a stressful life event and marital status. Being a class teacher was the strongest indicator of interpersonal strain. Self-care was associated with vocational strain and psychological strain, and inversely associated with physical strain. Conclusions: Most teachers in this study experienced a high degree of occupational strain. Chronic disease, days of sick leave, recent experience of a stressful life event and divorced/separated/widowed status played prominent roles in occupational strain. In addition, role overload, role boundary, responsibility and physical environment induce occupational strain, while recreation and rational coping have a positive effect on occupational strain. Interventions such as proper management of chronic diseases and establishment of a balanced work-family life are crucial to reduce occupational strain. Recreation and training in coping abilities are needed to enhance positive working environments and attenuate the occupational strain imposed on teachers.

Abstract:In order to understand the occupational stress and mental health of primary and secondary school teachers in Shaoguan, and the relationship between them, a survey was conducted on 233 primary and secondary school teachers in Shaoguan, using the "Professional Stressor Scale for Primary and Secondary School Teachers" and "SCL-90". SPSS24.0 was used to analyze the data. The results shows that: (1) The occupational stress of primary and secondary school teachers in Shaoguan is in medium level and is relatively common; the occupational stress of teachers varies with the gender, class, education stage, and teaching age. (2) The mental health of primary and secondary school teachers in Shaoguan is in medium level, and more teachers have mild psychological problems. Teachers’ mental health is affected by gender, age, class and education stage. (3) The occupational pressure of teachers is negatively correlated with the level of mental health, and occupational pressure can significantly negatively predict their level of mental health.

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the status of teacher's stress in middle school,and the relationship between stress & mental health. Methods: 1012 middle school teachers were assessed with the self-designed "teacher's stress questionnaire" and the "Symptom Check List 90"(SCL-90). Results: The teachers were under great stress, which mainly came from social expectation, demanding of dealing with behavior problems of their students in current administrative system, and the family affair. The stress and the total score of SCL-90 had positive correlation (r=0.42,P<0.01). Conclusion: It is meaningful to improve the teacher's mental health by reducing their stress.

Abstract:Among primary and secondary school teachers in China, 70% of teachers believe that they are facing greater occupational pressure. 63.8% of teachers clearly stated that occupational pressure has caused a great or great impact on themselves. And this has had negative effects on them such as mental, physical and personal development. This article studies the group of public-funded normal students from the perspective of psychological support. This article uses the SCL-90 form to investigate the professional psychology of teachers for the psychological support of public-funded normal students engaged in the teaching profession. And it conducts a survey on the curriculum setting and satisfaction of the public-funded normal students during their study stage. The experimental results of this article show that only 11.9% of public-funded normal students are very willing to take root and serve township education. Moreover, the psychological pressure of teachers at different educational stages is quite different.

Abstract:Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the stress level of university faculty members, the important determinants of faculty members' stress, and the implications for both faculty members and administrators. Subjects and methods: Participants were asked to complete a questionnaire consisting of 24 questions. Reponses from 240 participants at a Chinese university were analyzed using SPSS software. The descriptive statistics showed the participants' statistical characteristics. Cronbach's a and varimax rotation were used to assess the reliability and validity of the scale. The main statistical methods used were ANOVA and multifactor line regression. Results: University faculty members' occupational stress is widespread across occupational hierarchies. University faculty members are faced with different levels of teaching and scientific research and personal development pressures. Professional ranking, age, and length of teaching make a difference in the level of faculty members' occupational stress. The results can help us confirm that scientific research, professional development, and administrative affairs are significant influencing factors of faculty members' occupational stress. Conclusion: University faculty members' occupational stress is the outcome of structural constraints of university and personal characteristics. On the one hand, the faculty members should recognize the positive impact of occupational stress while striving to eliminate stressors. On the other hand, this empirical study uncovered that the evaluation mechanism based on quantitative performance indicators has greatly increased the occupational pressure on university faculty members.

Abstract:Abstract Teacher well-being is a prominent issue in policy and public debates. Those teachers working in private schools deserve concern given concerns about their working environment. Focus of this study: to learn about the level and main characteristics of teacher well-being in private schools and to explore the impact of working environment on their well-being. Methodology: The data were collected via an online questionnaire among 1161 language teachers at 58 China’s private colleges in 22 provinces, and were quantitatively analyzed with SPSS 23.0. Findings: These teachers have an intermediate level of overall well-being. Performance evaluation, student academic foundation, and pressure of research work are the main negative impacting factors; while social support from leaders and colleagues, work autonomy, training and development opportunities, and appraisal feedback guide are key resources enhancing their well-being. Discussions: The impacting factors of working environment on teacher well-being in private schools are unique due to the special scenarios. Implications: The results of this study may apply to similar private schools, suggesting pertinent stakeholders to take targeted measures, to guarantee enough economic input into running school, and to put democratic and professional leadership into practice for promoting teacher well-being in the private education sector.

Abstract:Background Online education has been conducted widely in higher education in recent years. While online teaching brings many opportunities, it also poses numerous challenges and issues. This is especially true for college teachers, for whom teaching is considered to be a profession with a high level of burnout and anxiety. The large-scale application of online teaching methods has put teachers in an even more challenging context, which may lead to teaching anxiety affecting their mental health. In online teaching contexts, the question of what factors affect college teachers' online teaching anxiety is worth exploring to help reduce their online teaching anxiety so as to promote their work performance. In this study, therefore, we conducted a survey of college teachers to develop a model of job environment (job demands and job resources), subjective well-being, and online teaching anxiety, and to explore the influences of job environment and subjective well-being on their online teaching anxiety, as well as the mediating effects of subjective well-being between job environments and online teaching anxiety. Method Of the 1,060 college teachers who participated, 524 were male (49.4%) and 536 were female (50.6%). An online questionnaire was sent to the teachers in January, 2022. Online teaching anxiety, subjective well-being, and job environment scales were adapted and developed. Descriptive analysis, reliability and validity analysis, and structural equation modelling were used to analyse the collected data. Results The study model showed an adequate fit (χ 2 = 440.983, RMSEA = 0.070, GFI = 0.942, AGFI = 0.914, NFI = 0.949, and CFI = 0.956), confirming the relationships of job demands and online teaching anxiety (β = 0.310, p < 0.001), job resources and online teaching anxiety (β = – 0.086, p < 0.01), job demands and subjective well-being (β = – 0.411, p < 0.001), job resources and subjective well-being (β = 0.204, p < 0.001), and subjective well-being and online teaching anxiety (β = – 0.435, p < 0.001). Meanwhile, the results also proved the effects of the mediating role of subjective well-being between job demands (95% CI = [– 0.138, – 0.225]), job resources (95% CI = [– 0.119, – 0.064]), and online teaching anxiety. The model accounted for 33.8% ( f 2 = 0.401) of online teaching anxiety. Conclusion The results of this study indicated that it is important to reduce job demands and increase job resources to alleviate college teachers' online teaching anxiety to maintain good mental health; while maintaining a high level of college teachers' subjective well-being is also helpful for promoting their work performance. Furthermore, the indirect effects of job demands and job resources on online teaching anxiety mediated by college teachers' subjective well-being were also significant.

The Status Quo, Sources and Influencing Factors of Professional Pressure Faced by Preschool Teachers in Rural China: An Empirical Study Based on Multiple Counties in Hubei Province

Abstract:The professional pressure of preschool teachers in rural China is closely related to the stability of the teaching staff and the development of children. A study of 734 teachers in 155 rural preschools from three national-level poverty-stricken counties and one non-poverty county in Hubei Province showed that current rural preschool teachers are facing greater professional pressure. Approximately 44.47% thought that the pressure is high, but has not yet reached the level of high burnout; non-poverty county preschool teachers have relatively high pressure. According to the Demand-Control-Support (DCS) model, the main pressure stems from the work requirements of children and parents, especially parents’ excessive emphasis on children’s safety, knowledge, and skills. The results of the Ordered Probit Model showed that the influencing factors of preschool teachers’ professional pressure in rural preschools in China include work factors such as workload and the number of children in difficulty; control factors like perseverance and professional identity; support factors such as staffing status, salary satisfaction, family support, and work support; as well as demographic variables such as age and household registration type (Hukou); and certain inter-county differences exist. Therefore, we recommend that the government, society, and preschools establish effective incentive and restraint mechanisms to reduce the professional pressure of preschool teachers in terms of salary, social status, parental guidance, workload, and stress training, and improve their ability to cope with pressure. Meanwhile, more focus need to be given on teachers who are for the first year preschool, older in age, lacking staffing status, no non-agricultural household registration, and overloading working.

Abstract:The dual stress from teaching and scientific research performance assessment must be placed on newly-employed teachers of colleges and universities as a special group of teachers of colleges and universities at the beginning of their role change and adaptation. In this paper, the impact of work stress on work performance for newly-employed teachers was analyzed by taking newly-employed teachers of colleges and universities in Western China as research objects. The analysis results showed that work stress had a significant positive correlation to the challenge stress and a significant negative correlation to the hindrance stress. The task performance and the work performance had a significant positive correlation to the work stress and a significant negative correlation to the hindrance stress. In addition, the work-related happiness partially mediates the relationship between the work stress and the work performance.

Abstract:Those who teach mathematically gifted high school students play a key role in both their identification and cultivation. Teachers who teach the Mathematical Olympiad in China work long hours and teach difficult content; they are under a significant amount of work-based pressure, and that is worthy of further study. This study analyzed the sources of stress for 33 Chinese teachers who teach the Mathematical Olympiad, collected data through semi-structured in-depth interviews, and adopted a subject analysis method based on Bronfenbrenner's ecological system that considers the influences that the complexity of socio-cultural and environment have on individual emotions. It is divided into five structural or environmental systems in which human beings develop, namely the macroscopic, external, meso, micro, and chrono systems. The research results show that the greatest influences on these teachers' stress come from the mesosystem and microsystem levels, and that the key players are students and school leaders. Educational policy and culture are found to be key factors from the macrosystem. Overall, long-term stress was seen to affect both teachers' moods and their physical health. Finally, the results offered implications for education policy and school management and suggestions for the cultivation and management of mathematics teachers who teach the gifted. Limitations of the study are discussed, and directions for future research are proposed.

Abstract:Objective To understand the present state of mental pressure on graduate students of natural science divisions and its responses,and to provide a theoretic basis for improving the level of their mental health.Method To take 300graduate students enrolled in Beijing Architecture University of 2013as research objects through random sampling,and General State Questionnaire,Graduate Student Mental Pressure Questionnaire,and Simplified Responses Scales were adopted to conduct investigations on them from which 277valid questionnaires were collected.Results The top three sources for the mental pressure of graduate students were the pressure from anxieties about future,the pressure from requirement of academic thesis,and the pressure from academic tasks.Differences on negative responses from students of different years had statistical significance(P0.05).Poor handlers of interpersonal relations were prone to negative responses,and the students inclined to take negative responses perceived more pressure on the four dimensions of overall pressure,pressure from economic conditions and facial appearances,pressure of loneliness in interpersonal relations,and pressure from unpleasant environment and mood.Conclusion The main sources of graduate students of natural science divisions are anxieties about ones' future,academic thesis writing,and academic performances,and higher pressure were registered on those prone to take negative responses to pressures.
