Abstract:Objective To compare the effects of procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids( PPH ) with that of traditional hemorrhoidectomy in the treatment of severe hemorrhoids(grade Ⅲ or Ⅳ). Methods Eighty patients with severe hemorrhoids were randomly divided into PPH group and the traditional Million-Morgen group. Each group has 40 patients. The operating time, hospitalization time, postoperative pain, bleeding, postoperative urinary retention, and recovery time in each group were compared. Results The operation time were (29.45±6.91)min and (48.65±10.65)min in the PPH and traditional group , respectively(t=17.81, P<0.05); hospitalization stay time was (3.03±1.49) days vs. (6.10±2.51) days(t=11.40, P<0.05); the recovery work time was (8.00±1.73) days vs. (19.78±10.60) days(t=12.48, P<0.05). PPH group patients had less postoperative pain and no anal stricture and had obvious differences with tranditional group(χ2=11.52,11.40, P<0.05); there were no statistic differences in postoperative urinary retention and bleeding between the two groups(χ2=0.18,0.52, P>0.05). Conclusions PPH is a safe and effective treatment method for third or fourth degree hemorrhoids with the advantages of shorter time hospitalization and faster recovery.It could become an alternative for the conventional hemorrhoidectomy in proper patients.
Clinical Investigation of RPH Combined with Hemorrhoidlysant Injection in the Treatment of Hemorrhoids for 80 Cases

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of ruiyun procedure for hemorrhoids(RPH) Combined with hemorrhoidlysant injection in treating hemorrhoids.Method: One hundred sixty patients with hemorrhoids were divided into two groups according to control trail design by randomized method.Eighty patients in control group were treated with RPH and another has eighty patients in testing group were treated with RPH combined with hemorrhoidlysant injection.The changes of the symptom and physical sign at pre-therapy and posttreatment were compared,and the complications after operation were observed,the cure rate at three and six months after operation and the recurrence rate at 1 and 2 years after operation were observed.Result: The scores of symptom and physical sign were obviously decreased in both groups which after treatment(P < 0.05);there was no difference in the scores for each symptom and physical sign between two groups at three months after operation;there was significant difference between the two groups in hemorrhage score,decreasing at six months after treatment(P < 0.05) and there was no difference in other indexes.The effects of the treatment between the two groups at three months and six months after operation showing no significant difference,but there is significant difference in recutrence rate at the two years after operation.No serious adverse reactions occurred.Conclusion: RPH combined with hemorrhoidlysant injection are effective and safe in treating hemorrhoids.
[Clinical observation of auricular point sticking combined with western medicine for preventing and treating postoperative complications of external excision and internal ligation on mixed hemorrhoid]

Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of auricular point sticking before operation for postoperative complications of external excision and internal ligation on mixed hemorrhoid. Methods: Eighty patients with mixed hemorrhoid were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 40 cases in each group. In the control group, paracetamol and dihydrocodeine tartrate tablets were applied with oral administration 1 h after operation, 510 mg each time, twice a day; at the same time, diosmin tablets were treated with oral administration, 0.9 g each time, twice a day. Three days' treatments were required successively. In the observation group, auricular point sticking was used before operation based on the treatment in the control group. The auricular points of Shen (Co10), Pangguang (CO9), Shenmen (TF4), Pizhixia (AT4), Jiaogan (AH6a) and Gangmen (HX5) were selected. The patients were asked to press the points 3-6 times per day, 3-5 min each time, 3 days' treatment in total. The scores of the postoperative complications in the 1st and the 2nd days were compared between the two groups such as pain, edema, hematochezia, retention of urine, etc. Results: After operation, the scores of pain, edema, hematochezia, retention of urine in the 2nd day were all decreased obviously than those in the 1st day in the two groups (all P<0.05); and the scores of pain, edema, hematochezia, retention of urine in the 1st and the 2nd days of the observation group were lower than those in the control group (all P<0.05). Conclusion: Auricular point sticking before operation combined with conventional western medicine with oral administration for preventing and treating postoperative complications of external excision and internal ligation on mixed hemorrhoid achieves positive and reliable efficacy.

Abstract:Objective: To observe the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) on reducing swelling and pain in patients with mixed hemorrhoids. Methods: Sixty patients with mixed hemorrhoids who were admitted to the Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Qiqihar from January 2023 to January 2024 were selected and divided into two groups. The treatment group (n = 30) was treated with mixed hemorrhoid ligation combined with traditional Chinese swelling and pain medicine, and the control group (n = 30) was only treated with mixed hemorrhoid ligation. The pain level, edema score, and prognosis of the two groups after the intervention were analyzed. The clinical efficacy was used as the evaluation criterion to compare the clinical effects of different treatment options. Results: After the treatment, the pain score, edema score, and prognostic wound score of the treatment group were all lower than those of the control group (P < 0.05). The total clinical effectiveness of the treatment group (100%) was higher than that of the control group (76.67%), (χ2 = 4.2857, P < 0.05). Conclusion: The application of traditional Chinese swelling and pain medicine in treating patients with mixed hemorrhoids effectively reduced the patient’s pain, reduced the degree of wound edema, promoted wound healing, and improved the patient’s prognosis. The curative effect was significant and had a positive impact.
Effect of Bixie combined with perioperative multimodal analgesia management on postoperative pain and wound healing of mixed hemorrhoids

Abstract:We were to explore the effect of Bixie combined with perioperative multimodal analgesia management on postoperative pain and wound healing of mixed hemorrhoids. A total of 240 patients with mixed hemorrhoids in this hospital from June 2022 to September 2023 were chosen, with 120 in the control group receiving perioperative multimodal analgesia management and 120 in the observation group receiving Bixie combined with perioperative multimodal analgesia management. The results showed that compared with the control group, the observation group had lower visual analogue scale (VAS) scores at 1, 3, 5 and 7 days after the surgery; the 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), nitric oxide (NO), interleukin-2 (IL-2), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) of the observation group at 24 hours and 72 hours after the surgery were lower; the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and wound healing rate of the observation group at 7 days after the surgery were higher; the total effective rate of the observation group was higher. Therefore, combining Bixie with perioperative multimodal analgesia management could improve postoperative pain, decrease inflammatory factor levels, promote angiogenesis and accelerate wound healing in patients with mixed hemorrhoids.
Positive Efficacy of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum MH-301 as A Postoperative Adjunct to Endoscopic Sclerotherapy for Internal Hemorrhoids: A Randomized, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled Trial

Abstract:Background: Endoscopic sclerotherapy is a widely used minimally invasive procedure for internal hemorrhoids, yet postoperative symptoms remain a concern. The purpose of this study is to investigate the postoperative adjuvant efficacy of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum. Method: In this study, patients (≥18 years) with internal hemorrhoids that conformed to Golighter's classification of grade I-III received administration of L. plantarum MH-301 for 4 weeks following endoscopic sclerotherapy. The primary clinical endpoint in this study was the improvement rate, which was defined as the percentage of patients whose n-HDSS score decreased to 0 following the procedure. Stools were collected for high-throughput sequencing analysis postoperatively. Result: A total of 103 participants (51 in the LP group and 52 in the C group) were recruited, with 96 complete the entire trial (49 in the LP group and 47 in the C group). The primary clinical endpoint showed a higher improvement rate in the LP group (87.8% vs 70.2%, P=0.045). High-throughput sequencing analysis demonstrated that the LP group had a greater diversity of intestinal microbiota and a higher relative abundance of beneficial bacteria such as Bifidobacterium, Megamonas, and Lactobacillus. No significant difference in postoperative complications and adverse events. Conclusion: This paper concludes that the administration of L. plantarum MH-301 after endoscopic sclerotherapy can further increase the efficacy of the procedure and improve bowel movements. Regulation of intestinal microbiota may be the potential mechanism for the efficacy of L. plantarum MH-301.

Real-word Evaluation of Differences in Bowel Preparation for Colonoscopy Between the Digestive and the Non-Digestive Physicians: A Retrospective Study

Abstract:IntroductionUsing real-world data, we compared the quality of bowel preparation instructed by the digestive and non-digestive physicians in outpatients for colonoscopy and identified potential risk factors.MethodsThis was a retrospective study based on real-world data, which were collected from the Ningbo First Hospital in China from December 2019 to October 2020. Outpatients included were classified into the digestive and the non-digestive physician groups according to the referring physician. The primary outcome was adequate bowel preparation measured by the Boston Bowel Preparation Scale (BBPS), namely, a BBPS score of 2 or higher in any colonic segment and a total score ≥ 6. Secondary outcomes included the total mean BBPS scores and possible risk factors associated with poor bowel preparation.ResultsThere were 671 outpatients included, with 392 in the digestive physician group and 279 in the non-digestive physician group. Adequate bowel preparation was 84.2% in the digestive physician group and 71.0% in the non-digestive physician group (odds ratio [OR]: 1.50, p < 0.001), and the latter had lower total mean BBPS scores (6.12 ± 1.33 vs. 6.66 ± 1.29, p < 0.001). The non-digestive physician was an independent risk factor according to the multivariate logistic regression analysis (OR: 0.45, p < 0.001).ConclusionThe quality of bowel preparations instructed by non-digestive physicians was inferior to digestive physicians, which was a factor potentially associated with poor bowel preparation (ClinicalTrials.gov number: NCT04738578).
Clinical Study of Segmentation and Ligation to Treat 30 Cases of Severe Mixed Hemorrhoids

Abstract:Objective:To assess the clinical value of Segmentation and ligation for severe mixed hemorrhoids.Methods:A prospective randomized trial(n=60)for treating severe mixed hemorrhoids comparing Segmentation and Ligation(SL group)and the approach of stripping off the varicose masses of the external hemorrhoids and ligating the internal(control group).Evaluation parameters include cure rate,hospitalization duration,healing time,operative time,postoperative complications and safety etc.Results:Cure rate was 90.0% of SL group and 86.7% of the control group.Significant differences(P<0.05)were shown in hospitalization duration,healing time,operative time,presence of pain,dropsy and redundant skin residue.In postoperative bleeding,urination difficulty,anal stenosis,there were significant difference between groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Segmentation and ligation can significantly reduce hospital stay,healing time,operative time and presence of dropsy,maintain good physiological function of anus.
Procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids vs traditional surgery for outlet obstructive constipation

Abstract:Aim: To compare the clinical efficacies of two surgical procedures for hemorrhoid rectal prolapse with outlet obstruction-induced constipation. Methods: One hundred eight inpatients who underwent surgery for outlet obstructive constipation caused by internal rectal prolapse and circumferential hemorrhoids at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from June 2012 to June 2013 were prospectively included in the study. The patients with rectal prolapse hemorrhoids with outlet obstruction-induced constipation were randomly divided into two groups to undergo either a procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids (PPH) (n = 54) or conventional surgery (n = 54; control group). Short-term (operative time, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative urinary retention, postoperative perianal edema, and postoperative pain) and long-term (postoperative anal stenosis, postoperative sensory anal incontinence, postoperative recurrence, and postoperative difficulty in defecation) clinical effects were compared between the two groups. The short- and long-term efficacies of the two procedures were determined. Results: In terms of short-term clinical effects, operative time and postoperative hospital stay were significantly shorter in the PPH group than in the control group (24.36 ± 5.16 min vs 44.27 ± 6.57 min, 2.1 ± 1.4 d vs 3.6 ± 2.3 d, both P < 0.01). The incidence of postoperative urinary retention was higher in the PPH group than in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant (48.15% vs 37.04%). The incidence of perianal edema was significantly lower in the PPH group (11.11% vs 42.60%, P < 0.05). The visual analogue scale scores at 24 h after surgery, first defecation, and one week after surgery were significantly lower in the PPH group (2.9 ± 0.9 vs 8.3 ± 1.1, 2.0 ± 0.5 vs 6.5 ± 0.8, and 1.7 ± 0.5 vs 5.0 ± 0.7, respectively, all P < 0.01). With regard to long-term clinical effects, the incidence of anal stenosis was lower in the PPH group than in the control group, but the difference was not significant (1.85% vs 5.56%). The incidence of sensory anal incontinence was significantly lower in the PPH group (3.70% vs 12.96%, P < 0.05). The incidences of recurrent internal rectal prolapse and difficulty in defecation were lower in the PPH group than in the control group, but the differences were not significant (11.11% vs 16.67% and 12.96% vs 24.07%, respectively). Conclusion: PPH is superior to the traditional surgery in the management of outlet obstructive constipation caused by internal rectal prolapse with circumferential hemorrhoids.

Abstract:Purpose: This study aimed to explore the efficiency and safety of modified tissue-selecting therapy stapler combined with complete anal canal epithelial preservation operation (M-TST-CACP) in the treatment of circumferential mixed hemorrhoids. Methods: This was a single-center, statistical analyst-blinded, randomized controlled trial (RCT). A total of 306 patients were finally included for analysis. The efficiency (efficacy, recurrence, anal smoothness, quality of life, and wound healing time) and safety (anal incontinence, pain level, anal stenosis, urinary retention, perianal edema, and postoperative bleeding) were evaluated. The statistical difference in continuous data between M-TST-CACP group and procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids (PPH) group was compared using t-test or Mann-Whitney U test. The statistical difference in counting data between the two groups were compared using Pearson χ2 test. Difference within each group in different time points was evaluated using repeated-measures analysis of variance. Results: M-TST-CACP group showed a higher cure rate (6 months: 74.51% vs. 64.71%, P = 0.044), lower recurrence (6 months: 0% vs. 4.58%, P = 0.015; 12 months: 0.65% vs. 5.88%, P = 0.010), lower anal incontinence score (1 month: 1.29 ± 1.17 vs. 1.93 ± 1.33; 3 months: 1.07 ± 0.87 vs. 1.59 ± 1.01; 6 months: 0.58 ± 0.61 vs. 1.00 ± 0.90; all P < 0.001), and lower rate of anal stenosis (1 month: 0% vs. 7.84%; 3 months: 0% vs. 9.80%; both P < 0.001) than the PPH group. Conclusions: M-TST-CACP had better efficiency and safety than the PPH, which could be a reasonable adoption for the surgeons to treat circumferential mixed hemorrhoids.
Role of antibiotics in Milligan-Morgan hemorrhoidectomy for Grade III to IV Hemorrhoids: A randomized clinical trial

Abstract:Purpose: This study was mainly to compare the safety and long-term clinical efficacy of using intravenous antibiotics in Milligan Morgan hemorrhoidectomy for Grade III to IV Prolapsing Hemorrhoids. Methods: This was a parallel group, 3-arm, randomized clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy of intravenous prophylactic antibiotics. A total of 150 consecutive patients undergoing Milligan Morgan hemorrhoidectomy (MMH) in a tertiary hospital for grade III/IV hemorrhoids from January 2020 to August 2022 were enrolled. Patients were randomly assigned to three groups using a computer-generated table. Group A did not receive any prophylactic antibiotic, group B received 2 g I/V Cefoxitin Sodium before the induction of anesthesia, and group C received 2 g I/V Cefoxitin Sodium before the induction of anesthesia and 6 h after operation. Results: There was no significant difference in measured VAS values on the 1st day,3rd day and 7th day after surgery (p> 0.05). Compared with VAS values on the 1st day postoperatively, these values got decreased on the 3rd day and 7th day after surgery (p< 0.05). In addition, there was no significant difference among the first defecation time, wound edema, bleeding, urinary retention after surgery (p> 0.05). There was no significant difference in the outcome comparison between all 3 groups' basal and the 3rd day postoperatively no matter in WBC, NUET% or CRP (p> 0.05). However, compared with basal, the WBC, NUET%,CRP(p< 0.05) of group A and group B on the 3rd day postoperatively got rised, the rate of recurrence of hemorrhoids follow-up for 1 year was 1.4%. Conclusions: Our results suggest that there is no efficacy on intravenous prophylactic antibiotics in Milligan Morgan hemorrhoidectomy.
Efficacy and safety of micronized purified flavonoid fractions for the treatment of postoperative hemorrhoid complications: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Abstract:BACKGROUND: Hemorrhoids, a common anorectal disease, seriously affects patients' quality of life. Micronized purified flavonoid fractions (MPFF) have been shown to improve hemorrhoid symptoms.PURPOSE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of MPFF in treating postoperative hemorrhoid complications.STUDY DESIGN: A systematic review and meta-analysis of existing literature on natural compounds for treating postoperative complications of hemorrhoids.METHODS: A literature search was conducted using five databases, namely PubMed, WanFang, CNKI, Embase, and the Cochrane Library, to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the effects of MPFF treatment on hemorrhoids. Stata 15.1 and Revman 15.4 were used to assess the data, while subgroup and sensitivity analyses were performed to evaluate potential heterogeneity, and trial sequential analysis (TSA) and Egger test were used to evaluate the reliability of each trial.RESULTS: A total of 22 RCTs, including 2,335 participants were included in the analysis. MPFF improved the clinical efficacy of post-hemorrhoidectomy and reduced the bleeding rate, pain score, and edema score, although no substantial effect on adverse reactions was reported. Subgroup analyses showed a significant reduction in pain score and bleeding rate in trials with duration of 4-10 days and an improvement in clinical efficacy. Treatment for ≥ 10 days significantly improved the edema score; a dosage range of 1,800-2,700 mg/day of MPFF significantly reduced edema and pain scores, whereas < 1,800 mg/day significantly improved clinical efficacy.CONCLUSIONS: Based on searching the relevant literatures, this is the first meta-analysis on MPFF treatment of postoperative hemorrhoid complications. Our findings, validated by TSA, suggest that MPFF is safe and effective in reducing postoperative hemorrhoid complications, and that dose and duration are key factors in its efficacy, as illustrated by subgroup analysis. However, due to the small sample size, the standardized treatment regimen of MPFF could not be obtained; therefore, further research is warranted.

A NEW MIXED SURGICAL TREATMENT FOR GRADES III AND IV HEMORRHOIDS: MODIFIED SELECTIVE HEMORRHOIDECTOMY COMBINED WITH COMPLETE ANAL EPITHELIAL RETENTION

Abstract:Background: Varicose veins appear above and below the dentate line in mixed hemorrhoids, which seriously affects anal function and quality of life. Aim: To propose an improvement in tissue-selecting therapy repair of anal pad combined with complete anal canal epithelial retention comparing with Milligan-Morgan surgery. Methods: A prospective randomized controlled study was designed enrolling 200 patients with grade III and IV hemorrhoids. They were divided into control and observation groups. The control received Milligan-Morgan surgery, and the observation the modified tissue-selecting therapy stapler combined with complete anal canal preservation surgery. All patients were followed for six months to evaluate the treatment differences. Results: In final, control group included 82 and observation 87. The average operation time of the control group was significantly lower than that of the observation, while the bleeding volume was significantly lower in control group. The control group VAS score was 3 (1, 4), and observation 4 (2, 5). There was no significant difference in the incidence of urinary retention, bleeding and wound margin edema after surgery at one month postoperatively. Digital incidence of anal stenosis in the observation group was significantly lower than in control; the same occurred with residual anal margins. The postoperative anal canal diameter was significantly larger than the control group. Wexner anal incontinence score showed that no anal incontinence occurred in both groups, and the control group scored was significantly higher than observation. In final six months follow-up, the observation group did not experience any relapse and four cases were found among controls. The treatment satisfaction of the observation group was better. Conclusions: In grades III and IV hemorrhoids, modified tissue-selecting therapy combined with complete anal canal preservation had better prognosis and treatment satisfaction than Milligan-Morgan procedure, and it is a new surgical method for patients with advanced mixed hemorrhoids.
A Clinical Study for Edema after PPH of External Hemorrhoids Prophylactic Incision

Abstract:Objective:To study the prophylactic incision external hemorrhoids hemorrhoid stapler on mucosal resection(PPH) postoperative edema.Methods:Ⅲ～Ⅳ° 160 cases of mixed hemorrhoid,then divided into experimental group and control group of 80 cases. Experimental group underwent surgery + external hemorrhoids PPH radial incision;control group,routine PPH patients.The postoperative first day of the anus 1,2,3 the number of patients with different degree of edema and pain score.Results:1,2,3 days after surgery,the experimental group and control group two mild,moderate and severe edema in comparison P values were <0.05;pain index P value <0.01.Conclusions: PPH surgery + external hemorrhoids radial incision can effectively reduce PPH anal edema brought about by pain,is simple.

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the efficacy of the procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids (PPH) combined with external hemorrhoids excision in the treatment of III or IV mixed hemorrhoids. Methods: One hundred and twelve patients with III or IV mixed hemorrhoids admitted for surgical treatment were randomly divided into three groups: PPH 1 group (34 cases), PPH2 group (36 cases), and Milligan-Morgan group (42 cases). PPH1 group received the standard PPH operation, PPH2 received PPH and external hemorrhoids excision, and Milligan-Morgan group received Milligan-Morgan hemorrhoidectomy. Postoperative 24 h-pain index, pain index when defecating, bleeding, anal discomfort feeling , wound edema, the ability of controlling feces, operating time, hospitalization time and charges were recorded. The change of anal dynamics was detected by anorectal manometry. All the patients were followed-up for 0.5-1 year. Results: There were no significant differences among the three groups in bleeding, anal discomfort feeling, the ability of controlling feces (P>0.05). The postoperative 24 h-pain index of PPH1 group was lower than those of the other two groups (P<0.05). PPH1 group and PPH2 group were better than Milligan-Morgan group in pain index when defecating, wound edema, operating time, and hospitalization time (P<0.05). Milligan-Morgan group was better than the other two groups in postoperative urinary retention and hospital charges (P<0.05). The change of anal duct pressure of Milligan-Morgan group was less than those of the other two groups (P<0.05). Within 0.5-1.0 year follow-up, 3 patients got thrombosed external hemorrhoid in PPH1 group, 2 patients recurred and 1 patient got thrombosed external hemorrhoid in Milligan-Morgan group, no recurred patients in PPH2 group. Conclusion: PPH combined with external hemorrhoid excision is a safe and effective treatment for mixed hemorrhoids, which is suitable for mixed hemorrhoids with severe external hemorrhoids.

Abstract:Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of suture-fixation mucopexy in the treatment of prolapsed hemorrhoids. Methods: A total of 123 patients with grade II, III, and IV hemorrhoids were admitted to The TCM Hospital of Pu Dong New District between 2018 and 2019. They were randomly divided into the suture-fixation group (SF, N.=60) and the Milligan-Morgan hemorrhoidectomy group (MM, N.=63). Clinical efficacy, postoperative pain, average operation time, hospital stay, complications, and patient satisfaction were prospectively evaluated. Results: No significant differences were identified in clinical efficacy; operation time and hospital stay between the two groups (P>0.05). However, VAS Score in the SF group was lower than that in the MM group. And the SF group was also more advantageous in anal function protection (P<0.05). In addition, the results of the follow-up survey revealed no significant difference in postoperative recurrence rate and patient satisfaction (P>0.05). Conclusions: Compared with Milligan-Morgan hemorrhoidectomy, suture-fixation mucopexy is as effective in the treatment of prolapsed hemorrhoid, but it has more advantages in reducing postoperative pain and protecting the anal function.

Abstract:Objective To explore the nursing intervention of perioperative period in patients with hemorrhoids operation of clinical effect.Methods hemorrhoids hospital operation in 70 cases,depending on the duration of hospitalization,were randomly divided into experimental group and control group with 35 cases in each group,the control group were given general management;the test group received health education,observe two groups of clinical effect,compliance,treatment satisfaction.Results the experimental group of hemorrhoid disease related knowledge level,treatment compliance,duration of hospitalization,treatment satisfaction was significantly better than the control group(P 0.05).Conclusion health education can significantly promote the rehabilitation of patients with hemorrhoids disease,reduce hospitalization time,improve patient compliance and satisfaction.

Abstract:Objective. To explore the efficacy of Chinese herbal fumigation and sitz-bath combined with red ointment in the treatment of postoperative wound healing and pain control in anal fistula patients. Methods. A total of 118 anal fistula patients were selected as the study population, randomly divided into two groups, i.e., the research group (n = 60) and the control group (n = 60). The control group was treated with red ointment therapy for postoperative wound healing and pain while the research group was treated with a combination of ointment and traditional Chinese medicine fumigation sitz-bath, Postoperative wound healing, pain control, and safety evaluation were compared between the two groups. Results. The total effective rate in the research group was 96.67%, which was significantly higher than that in the control group (93.10%), and the difference was statistically significant ( P 0.05 ) in TNF-α and IL-6 levels between the two study groups; however, from day 3 to day 14 the levels were statistically different. TNF-α and IL-6 levels in research group were significantly lower than those in the control group. The difference was statistically significant ( P < 0.05 ). The incidence of postoperative complications in the research group at 6.67% was statistically significant ( P < 0.05 ), significantly lower than 13.79% in the control group. Conclusion. Postoperative intervention with Chinese herbal fumigation and sitz-bath combined with red ointment can effectively reduce the wound healing duration and lower the degree of pain experienced by anal fistula patients, thereby improving their quality of life.

Abstract:Objective: To observe the effect of "Cuyu Xunxi Formula" and "Zhiji Fumigation Formula" on patients after mixed hemorrhoidectomy.Methods: Two hundred and forty cases were randomized into eight groups,30 cases in each group.A group was treated with 6% "Cuyu Xunxi Formula" for 10 minutes;B group was treated with 6% "Zhiji Fumigation Formula" for 10 minutes;C group was treated with 3% "Cuyu Xunxi Formula" for 20 minutes;D group was treated with 3% "Zhiji Fumigation Formula" for 20 minutes;E group was treated with 6% "Cuyu Xunxi Formula" for 20 minutes;F group was treated with 6% "Zhiji Fumigation Formula" for 20 minutes;G group was treated with 3% "Cuyu Xunxi Formula" for 10 minutes;H group was treated with 3% "Zhiji Fumigation Formula" for 10 minutes,with a course of 14 days.The curative effect of pain of wound,edema,bleeding,effusion,itching and fever were observed.Results: The therapeutic effect in G group was the best(P0.05),and the relief of postoperative complications was better than the other groups(P0.05).Conclusion: 3% "Cuyu Xunxi Formula" in the treatment of postoperative complications for 10 minutes is most effective.
