Abstract:The cathode in spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) has intrinsic properties and a unique sandwich-like structure and contains transition metals. Moreover, the transition metal-based catalysts frequently used in sulfate radical-based advance oxidation processes (SR-AOPs) entail a complex synthesis process, expensive mass production, and difficult separation and recovery. Here, we propose that a cathode scrap from spent LIBs can be directly recycled as stable and reusable SR-AOP catalysts. Compared with pristine LiMn2O4, the catalytic performance of the recycled active LiMn2O4 component was enhanced by the prolonged lithiation/delithiation cycles in situ. As a result, the cathode scrap shows high efficiency for peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation, and the ortho-phenylphenol (OPP) degradation still reached 94.8% after 10 cycles. Multiple important properties of the recycled cathode scrap, such as the oxidation state, surface oxygen species, pore structure, and structure factors, were investigated in details. The pore in the coating further offers the chances for PMS to efficiently make contact with the interior active LiMn2O4 and allow for the aqueous solution to diffuse to the interior Al foil, caused subsequently by the redox reaction of the Al foil. The synergistic effect between the Al foil and LiMn2O4-containing coating promotes the conversion of Mn(IV) to Mn(III) and electron transfer. The strong adhesion between the LiMn2O4-containing coating and Al foil through the binder enhances catalyst stability and endow the cathode scrap catalyst with easily recoverable characteristics. Recycling for Recovery of Critical Metals from LiCoO2 Cathode Material Through Methanesulfonic Acid-Citric Acid Organic Leaching System

Abstract:Growing demand for valuable battery materials and environmental issues from battery disposal make the recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) essential. Specifically, the green approaches using organic reagents have garnered many attentions for battery recycling. In this study, a synergetic organic leaching system using methanesulfonic acid (MSA) of strong organic acid and citric acid (CA) with good chelating ability was investigated to extract valuable metals from LiCoO2. Hydrogen peroxide was used as a reducing agent to enhance leaching kinetics. Cobalt extraction of 98% and lithium extraction of 97 % were achieved in the optimized condition; 2.4M MSA, 1.6M CA, 1.0 vol% H2O2, S/L ratio 80 g/L, 85 °C, and 1 h. The optimal leaching condition of the MSA-CA mixed leaching system exhibited good applicability to various cathode scraps, such as LiCoO2, LiNixMnyCo1-x-yO2, and LiNixCoyO2. The dissolved Co and Li ions in the MSA-CA leachate were selectively recovered with high recovery efficiencies of 99 % and 97 % as Co3O4 and Li3PO4, respectively. The recovered Co3O4 and Li3PO4 were utilized to regenerate cathode materials. LiCoO2 and LiFePO4 were also synthesized through a solid-state reaction and hydrothermal method. The recycling process based on the MSA-CA-H2O2 synergetic leaching system was proposed, and it might be applied as a green and economical organic leaching system for the recycling of various types of spent LIBs.

Abstract:Due to the mounting pressure to mitigate environmental pollution and guarantee the sustainability of the battery metals, the recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) has become a crucial issue in recent years. Numerous studies have focused on utilizing high temperatures or strong acid/alkali to reduce the spent active cathode material to a low valence state, which exacerbates recycling and post-treatment costs. Herein, a low-temperature roasting process followed by a water leaching strategy is developed to recycle and regenerate LiCoO2 cathode material from spent LiCoO2 batteries. The spent LiCoO2 is roasted with glucose (C6H12O6) as a reagent to attain reduction of the cathode material into water-soluble Li salt (Li2O and Li2CO3) and water-insoluble (Co and CoO). The proposed method utilizes moderate roasting temperature and water as the only leaching reagent, which effectively reduces energy and chemical consumption. Li and Co recovery rates are 97 % and 99 %, respectively, under the optimal conditions of 1 h roasting at 550 °C followed by 30 min water leaching using a solid–liquid ratio of 50 g/L. The recovered Li-rich solution and Co-rich residue can be easily converted to Li2CO3 and Co3O4, respectively, which are the precursors for regenerating the LiCoO2 cathode material. The regenerated LiCoO2 exhibits superior cycling stability with 87 % capacity retention after 800 cycles at 4.4 V. This developed closed-loop recycling process has lower recycling costs, is eco-friendly and efficient, and thus could potentially promote the sustainable long-run development of the LIBs industry.

Abstract:The traditional liquid acid leaching method for recycling spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) has serious environmental pollution and unsafe transportation. In this study, solid sodium bisulfate was applied as a leaching agent to recover lithium, cobalt, nickel and manganese from the cathode active material of spent LIBs in the presence of a reductant, hydrogen peroxide. It was found that the leaching efficiencies were approximately 93.0, 91.5, 95.5 and 96.6%, respectively, for Ni, Co, Mn and Li under the conditions of 1 mol/L NaHSO4 and 3 vol% H2O2 as reductant within 30 min at 70 °C and a pulp density of 20 g/L. Kinetic data for the dissolution of valuable metals in the temperature range 40–70 °C showed the kinetic model governed by the Avrami equation. The apparent activation energies for leaching of Ni, Co, Mn and Li were determined as 43.8, 44.2, 42.2 and 27.5 kJ/mol, respectively, indicating that the leaching process was controlled by a surface chemical reaction. This process can be a convenient alternative method for recovering valuable metals from spent LiNi0.5Co0.2Mn0.3O2.

Abstract:LiCoO2 (LCO) lithium-ion battery (LIB) is rich in valuable metals (cobalt and lithium), which has high recycling value. The existing process has basically realized the extraction of cobalt, but there are still shortcomings in harmless disposal of fluorine-containing electrolyte, binder and other organic matters, selective extraction of lithium and low-cost extraction of cobalt. In this context, a novel process was developed to realize the full-component recovery of spent LiCoO2 battery via environmentally friendly pyrolysis and hydrometallurgical leaching. The organic matters were recovered in the form of pyrolytic oil and gas, in which the harmful fluorine element was absorbed by Ca(OH)2 solution. The current collectors (copper and aluminum) were recovered after the easy separation of electrode materials due to the degradation of binders. During pyrolysis the cathode material was deconstructed and reduced under the synergistic effect of pyrolytic gas and anode graphite. Selective recovery of lithium and cobalt was achieved through carbonated water leaching and reductant-free acid leaching. The leaching efficiencies of lithium and cobalt were respectively 87.9% and 99.1% under the optimal conditions. Lithium carbonate and cobalt sulfate were obtained by evaporative crystallization, respectively. The remaining residue was only graphite without impurity entrainment. The results in this research suggest that the process consisting of pyrolysis and hydrometallurgical leaching is inexpensive, efficient, and eco-friendly for full-component recycling of spent LiCoO2 battery.

Abstract:The explosively growing demand for electrical energy is generating a great deal of spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Therefore, a simple and effective strategy for the sustainable recycling of used batteries is urgently needed to minimize chemical consumption and to reduce the associated environmental pollution. In this work, 2-naphthalenesulfonic acid is innovatively proposed for the highly-selective recovery of valuable metals. Impressively, lithium and cobalt are simultaneously separated through a single-step process, in which 99.3% of lithium is leached out as Li+ enriched solutions while 99% of cobalt is precipitated as cobalt-naphthalenesulfonate. The obtained lithium enriched solutions are recovered as Li2CO3. The cobalt-naphthalenesulfonate with high purity (99%) is ready to be transformed into Co3O4, and then generated into LiCoO2 by reacting with the above-obtained Li2CO3. The cathode material LiCoO2 with micro/nanostructures exhibits excellent electrochemical properties. Characterization results confirm the coordination structure of the extracted cobalt complex (Co(NS)2•6H2O). Finally, compared to other selective metal extraction techniques, this strategy avoids additional separation and purification processes, thus improving the recycling efficiency. Overall, this route can be extended to selectively extract valuable metals from other types of cathode materials in spent LIBs as a sustainable approach.

Abstract:The sustainable recycling of valuable metals from spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) is impeded by the issues of extensive chemicals consumption, tedious separation process and deficient selectivity. Here, novel electrochemically driven and internal circulation strategy was developed for the direct and selective recycling of valuable metals from waste LiCoO2 of spent LIBs. Firstly, the waste LiCoO2 can be efficiently dissolved by generated acid (H2SO4) during electro-deposition of Cu from CuSO4 electrolyte. Then, Co2+ ions in the lixivium can be electrodeposited and recovered as metallic Co with a coinstantaneous regeneration of H2SO4 and regenerated acid can be reused as leachant without obvious shrinking of leaching capability based on circulating leaching results. Over 92% Co and 97% Li can be leached, and 100% Cu and 93% Co are recovered as their metallic forms under the optimized experimental conditions. Results of leaching kinetics suggest that the leaching of Co and Li is controlled by internal diffusion with significantly reduced apparent activation energies (Ea) for Li and Co. Finally, Li2CO3 can be recovered from Li+ enriched lixivium after circulating leaching. This recycling process is a simplified route without any input of leachant and reductant, and valuable metals can be selectively recovered in a closed-loop way with high efficiency.

Abstract:The preferentially selective extraction of Li+ from spent layered transition metal oxide (LiMO2, M = Ni, Co, Mn, etc.) cathodes has attracted extensive interest based on economic and recycling efficiency requirements. Presently, the efficient recycling of spent LiMO2 is still challenging due to the element loss in multistep processes. Here, we developed a facile strategy to selectively extract Li+ from LiMO2 scraps with stoichiometric H2SO4. The proton exchange reaction could be driven using temperature, accompanied by the generation of soluble Li2SO4 and MOOH precipitates. The extraction mechanism includes a two-stage evolution, including dissolution and ion exchange. As a result, the extraction rate of Li+ is over 98.5% and that of M ions is less than 0.1% for S-NCM. For S-LCO, the selective extraction result is even better. Finally, Li2CO3 products with a purity of 99.68% can be prepared from the Li+-rich leachate, demonstrating lithium recovery efficiencies as high as 95 and 96.3% from NCM scraps and S-LCO scraps, respectively. In the available cases, this work also represents the highest recycling efficiency of lithium, which can be attributed to the high leaching rate and selectivity of Li+, and even demonstrates the lowest reagent cost. The regenerated LiNi0.5Co0.24Mn0.26O2 and Na1.01Li0.001Ni0.38Co0.18Mn0.44O2 cathodes also deliver a decent electrochemical performance for Li-ion batteries (LIBs) and Na-ion batteries (NIBs), respectively. Our current work offers a facile, closed-loop, and scalable strategy for recycling spent LIB cathodes based on the preferentially selective extraction of Li+, which is superior to the other leaching technology in terms of its cost and recycling yield.

Abstract:A selective separation-recovery process based on tuning organic acid was proposed to the resource recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) for the first time. The low-cost preparation of CoFe2O4, reuse of waste acid and recovery of Li can be realized in this process, simultaneously. Li and Co in spent LIBs can be leached efficiently using citric acid as a leaching agent, and separated effectively from leaching solution by tuning oxalic acid content. The results from the characterizations of the prepared CoFe2O4 (CoFe2O4-LIBs) show that it possesses higher ratio of Co(II)/Co(III) and Fe(II)/Fe(III), larger surface specific area and more number of acid sites in comparison with pure CoFe2O4. Besides, CoFe2O4-LIBs was used to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for the degradation of bisphenol A (BPA). Interestingly, its degradation performance is superior to that of pure CoFe2O4 and the related Co-based catalysts. The excellent degradation performance can be maintained in presence of inorganic ions (e.g., Cl-, HCO3-, H2PO4- and NO3-) with high concentration or humic acid. Moreover, surface-bound SO4∙- is considered as the main reactive species for the degradation of BPA. More importantly, CoFe2O4-LIBs can be readily recycled by using an external magnet and own superior ability of regeneration.

Abstract:This study innovatively combines mechanochemistry and high-temperature thermal reduction to achieve the recovery of valuable metals from spent LIBs. First, under the action of mechanical force, the crystal structure of lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) found in the cathode materials of spent LIBs was destroyed and converted into lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) and Li-free residue (C/Co3O4) using dry ice as a co-grinding reagent. The optimum Li2CO3 recovery conditions were determined to be as follows: a ratio of dry ice: LiCoO2 powder mass of 20:1; a rotation speed of 700 rpm, and a reaction time of 1.5 h. With these conditions the maximum percentage of Li2CO3 recovered was 95.04 wt%. The Co3O4 in Li-free residue was reduced to a high-value Co0 product via a high-temperature (800 °C) heat treatment. Gibbs free energy analysis confirmed that the carbon in the Li-free residue could be used as a self-reducing reagent for the thermal reduction of Co3O4. The reactants and products of each step were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, XPS and SEM techniques. The green route for recycling spent LIBs that this study proposes realizes the green and cost-effective conversion of LiCoO2 to high-value products, which may become an outstanding example of recycling spent LIBs.

Abstract:Imperfect recycling technology and inconsistent decommissioning levels hinder the joint development of social and economic benefits in the recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Formulating a more consummate strategy to recover cathodes with different degradation levels is critical for optimizing the recycling of the spent LIBs. This paper presents an advanced approach for photocatalytic-assisted recovery of spent LIBs based on the decommissioning degree of cathode materials. UV-assisted Li and Co leaching efficiency reached 99.56% and 98.25%, over 35% higher than non-UV assistance, with a lower recovery cost than ultrasound (68.94%) and stirring (81.25%). Additionally, we realized the high-value reuse of photocatalytic-assisted leached lithium solution, and the repaired-LiCoO2 exhibited a high capacity, 179.4 mAh g–1, at 0.1 C. The recovery process generates more than three times the economic benefits of traditional methods. This environmentally friendly and energy-efficient recycling method is well-suited for efficiently recovering Ni-enriched anodes, offering new insights into recovering spent LIBs.

Abstract:Lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) is the most widely used cathode materials for smart phones and laptop batteries. With the rapid development of portable electronics, more than 100,000 tons of spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are produced every year. Conventional battery recycling processes including pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical processes mainly aim at extracting valuable metallic components from spent LIB cathodes, which requires high temperature reduction and/or acid/alkali chemicals to destroy covalent bond in cathodes and convert them into atoms for further extraction. The former leads to high energy consumption and the latter produces a lot of wastewater, which not only increases cost, but also damages our environment. Moreover, traditional recycling starts from spent battery cathodes and ends up with lithium/cobalt salts, which is unsustainable. Herein, a different recycling strategy to directly convert degraded LiCoO2 into high-voltage LiCoO2 cathode materials was proposed, featuring a closed-loop and green procedure. The directly-converted LiCoO2 from spent cathodes exhibits excellent cyclability at 4.5 V with a high capacity retention of 97.4% after 100 cycles, even superior than pristine LiCoO2. The recovery efficiencies of lithium and cobalt reach 91.3% and 93.5%, respectively, and the energy consumption could be greatly reduced since the roasting temperature was dropped below 400 & DEG;C with the assistance of ammonium sulfate. Due to the utilization of low-cost reagents and water as the leaching agent, the potential benefit of the recovery process was estimated to reach 6.94 $/kg cell.
Strengthening Valuable Metal Recovery from Spent Lithium-Ion Batteries by Environmentally Friendly Reductive Thermal Treatment and Electrochemical Leaching

Abstract:The traditional acid leaching method for recycling valuable metals from the cathode material of spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) has encountered the problems of high consumption of H2SO4 and reducing agents. In this study, a novel process has been developed to strengthen valuable metal recovery from spent lithium-ion batteries by reductive thermal treatment and electrochemical leaching. With the help of reductive thermal treatment under the conditions of R = 1600 °C and 120 min, the layered structure of the cathode material LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 is reduced to a mixture of Li2CO3, NiO, Co3O4, Mn2O3, and MnO2 due to the oxygen releasing from the framework. The destruction of the layered crystal structure reduces the difficulty of leaching valuable metals. 90.59% Ni, 90.53% Co, 66.40% Mn, and 100% Li were leached under the optimal conditions of 20 mL/g liquid–solid ratio, 1.5 M H2SO4, 0.8 A, and 150 min at room temperature. Comparing the processes of reductive thermal treatment with acid leaching and direct electrochemical leaching of spent cathode material under the same leaching conditions, the proposed approach can achieve the highest metal recovery and economic benefits. Abstract:With the rapid growth of the lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) market, it is meaningful to recycle spent LIBs for environments protecting the and resources save. In this study, a novel method is proposed for the leaching spent LiCoO2 material, recovery Al foil and separation cathode materials in one step by direct electrolytic leaching of spent electrode plate. The leaching efficiencies of 97.25 % for Li and 96.21 % for Co and only 6.85 % for Al could be obtained by electrolytic leaching under the optimized conditions of 2.5 mol/L DL-malic acid, 8 V voltage, 70℃ and 120 min. Kinetic analysis shows that the chemical reaction is the control step in the electrolytic leaching process. Furthermore, a series of studies on the mechanism of electrolytic leaching indicate that Co3+ can be reduced to Co2+ by electric reduction in the weak acid environment without reducing agent. Meanwhile, Al foil is protected by passivation and can be directly recycled. Finally, the recovered CoC2O4·2H2O from the filtrate is used for LiCoO2 regeneration. The regenerated LiCoO2 displays outstanding cycle performance and rate performance.

Abstract:Lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) is the most widely used cathode materials for smart phones and laptop batteries. With the rapid development of portable electronics, more than 100,000 tons of spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are produced every year. Conventional battery recycling processes including pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical processes mainly aim at extracting valuable metallic components from spent LIB cathodes, which requires high temperature reduction and/or acid/alkali chemicals to destroy covalent bond in cathodes and convert them into atoms for further extraction. The former leads to high energy consumption and the latter produces a lot of wastewater, which not only increases cost, but also damages our environment. Moreover, traditional recycling starts from spent battery cathodes and ends up with lithium/cobalt salts, which is unsustainable. Herein, a different recycling strategy to directly convert degraded LiCoO2 into high-voltage LiCoO2 cathode materials was proposed, featuring a closed-loop and green procedure. The directly-converted LiCoO2 from spent cathodes exhibits excellent cyclability at 4.5 V with a high capacity retention of 97.4% after 100 cycles, even superior than pristine LiCoO2. The recovery efficiencies of lithium and cobalt reach 91.3% and 93.5%, respectively, and the energy consumption could be greatly reduced since the roasting temperature was dropped below 400 & DEG;C with the assistance of ammonium sulfate. Due to the utilization of low-cost reagents and water as the leaching agent, the potential benefit of the recovery process was estimated to reach 6.94 $/kg cell.

Abstract:Pollution from spent batteries is causing an environmental crisis, driving the development of innovative recycling and upcycling methods. Conventional recycling technologies are plagued by the technical barriers of high pollution, low efficiency, and poor product utilization. Herein, an innovative and sustainable method is reported of in situ selective and precise recycling of cathode scrap into high value‐added transition metal oxides, as well as in‐depth verification of their suitability as lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) anodes. The recycled ZnMn2O4 material exhibits extremely high discharge specific capacity and performs well at high rates. This unique selective conversion technology, attributed to the co‐octahedral retention conversion, can be applied to obtain a variety of anode materials from aged cells. A successful demonstration of the reconversion of waste LiMn2O4 and LiCoO2 to obtain transition metal oxide materials provides the possibility of further efficient green recycling approaches for large‐scale applications. A sustainable method of in situ selective and precise recycling of cathode scrap into high value‐added transition metal oxides is reported. This unique selective conversion technology is attributed to the co‐octahedral retention conversion. Economic and environmental assessments find this recovery process to be highly economically and environmentally beneficial.

Abstract:The increasing demand for portable electronic devices and electric vehicles (EVs) has triggered the rapid growth of the rechargeable Li-ion battery (LIB) market. However, in the near future, it is predicted that a large amount of spent LIBs will be scrapped, imposing huge pressure on environmental protection and resource reclaiming. The effective recycling or regeneration of the spent LIBs not only relieves the environmental burdens but also avoids the waste of valuable metal resources. Herein, a porous Co9S8/Co3O4 heterostructure is successfully synthesized from the spent LiCoO2 (LCO) cathode materials via a conventional hydrometallurgy and sulfidation process. The fabricated Co9S8/Co3O4 catalyst exhibits high catalytic activity toward oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in an alkaline solution, with an overpotential of 274 mV to achieve the current density of 10 mA cm–2 and a Tafel slope of 48.7 mV dec–1. This work demonstrates a facile regeneration process of Co-based electrocatalysts from the spent LiCoO2 cathode materials for efficient oxygen evolution reaction.

Abstract:Efficient and sustainable recycling of metal resources from spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) is critical for the metal resources security and environment protection. However, the intact exfoliation of cathode materials (CMs) from current collectors (Al foils) and selective extraction of Li towards the in-situ and sustainable recycling of cathodes from spent LIBs are still pending issues. A self-activated and ultrasonic-induced endogenous advanced oxidation process (EAOP) was proposed in this study for selective removal of PVDF and in-situ extraction of Li from CMs of waste LiFePO4 (LFP) to address the above issues. Over 99 wt% CMs can be detached from Al foils after EAOP treatment under the optimized operation conditions. High purity of Al foil can be directly recycled as metallic forms and nearly 100 % of Li can be in-situ extracted from the detached CMs and then recovered as Li2CO3 (>99.9 % in purity). With induction and reinforcement of ultrasonic, S2O82- was self-activated by LFP to generate an increased amount of SO4•- radicals that will attack the PVDF binders to ensure their degradation. The degradation pathway of PVDF and density functional theory (DFT) calculation can also support the analytical and experimental results. Then, the complete and in-situ ionization of Li can be achieved by the further oxidization of SO4•- radicals from LFP powders. This work provides a novel strategy towards efficient and in-situ recycling of valuable metals from spent LIBs with minimized environmental footprint.
A sustainable approach for selective recovery of lithium from cathode materials of spent lithium-ion batteries by induced phase transition

Abstract:Recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) has attracted widespread attention because of their dual attributes to environmental protection and resource conservation. Utilization of strong corrosive acids is currently the preferred way to recover valuable metals from spent LIBs, but the extensive use of chemical reagents can pose serious environmental risks. Herein, this research proposes a green process for selective recovery of lithium using the material of spent LIBs itself without adding exogenous reagents, mechanochemistry induced phase transition. The leaching efficiency of Li can reach 94% by employing the copper foil separated from spent LIBs as the co-grinding additive during the mechanochemical reaction process. Then, the high value LiOH·H2O can be prepared through direct evaporation and crystallization without adding any precipitant. Meanwhile, cobalt is almost remained in the leaching residue which can be recovered through a step-by-step separation process. XRD, XPS, and SEM-EDS characterizations show that LiCoO2 and copper foil are transformed into the soluble Li2O, and insoluble CuO and CoO under the mechanical force. Finally, the soluble Li2O is dissolved in water to prepare the LiOH solution, and the insoluble CuO and CoO are transformed into Cu2O and Co(OH)2. On the basis of the experimental investigation, it is proven that the proposed process is suitable for selectively recovering Li from all types of cathode materials without generating salty wastewater or introducing chemical reagents. Thus, the proposed approach can ensure the efficient recovery of valuable metals from spent LIBs while avoiding the potential threat to the environment and human health.

Abstract:The advancement of the electric vehicle industry has inevitably resulted in the increased production and numerous scraps of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), among which the nickel cobalt manganese ternary material has become the fastest growing and largest proportion material in the lithium battery cathode material market. Therefore, a practical and effective method to recycle spent LIBs must be established. In this study, an efficient recycling method was proposed to leach value metals from cathode materials via the excellent solubility of deep eutectic solvents to metals, and regenerated LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 was prepared via coextraction and coprecipitation. 91.63% of Li, 92.52% of Co, 94.92% of Ni, and 95.47% of Mn are leached from the recycled cathode electrode. The kinetic experiments indicated that the leaching process fitted well to the shrinking core model controlled by chemical reactions. The value metals could be extracted with high efficiencies by adjusting the operating parameters in the step of coextraction. Moreover, the electrochemical tests of the regenerated ternary material revealed that the material had an excellent electrochemical performance. The proposed method, which can realize the sustainable development of spent LIBs, has great potential in the deep recycling of spent LIBs.
