Abstract:Controlling the good staff turnover rate is helpful to improve the service quality of the hotel, reduce the labor cost and create economic benefits, so as to better adapt to the high speed of economic development. This paper takes the hotel staff as the research object and makes an in-depth study on the relevant factors affecting their turnover. On the basis of literature research, the research hypothesis is put forward, and the questionnaire is designed, and the multivariate statistical regression analysis is used to verify the hypothesis. The following conclusions are drawn:(1) the individual, organizational situation and the positive pressure of employee turnover; (2) the influence degree of each influencing factor on employee turnover behavior, from high to low, is the value, Leadership style, interpersonal environment, psychological contract.

Abstract:Compared with the early days of the reformation and open-up policy,the employment of hotels has lost its good days.The personnel leakage in hospitality industry has been an annoying problem in hotels in China,which brings a series of influences,namely,low service quality,loss of clients,more cost of recruitment and training.For labor-intensive hospitality industry,personnel is the most valuable resource.By analyzing the reasons of personnel leakage in hospitality industry,this thesis finds out the sticking point of the problem and puts forward the countermeasures of prevention of the leakage.To withhold the talents,an enterprise should have its own culture and give its employees accordant wage and treatment.Only by doing this can the hospitality industry regain its employee's hard working and realize double-win between enterprise and employees.

Abstract:With the rapid development of the Chinese hotel industry, human resource management of the industry is facing new challenges. At present, the turnover rate in Chinese hotels is kept at a rather high level. This will not only influence normal operation of the hotels, but also impede the sustainable development of the hotel industry. Therefore, it is very important to conduct researches on the talent loss problems, so as to find out reasons for the high turnover rate and set up proper strategies to retain employees. Researches of the authors show that talent loss of Chinese hotels resulting from many factors, e.g. social factors, organizational factors, and personal factors. Base on their researches, the authors provide several suggestions to attract and keep talent employees, which may contribute to improve the human resource management of the Chinese hotel industry.

Abstract:The current study explores the antecedents of hotel employee turnover in China and determines new antecedents in the hospitality industry. Three focus group interviews were conducted with 13 supervisory employees from a hotel in Shenzhen, China. The findings replicate and extend the extant hospitality literature. Several themes emerged to explain hotel employee turnover intention, such as promotional/advancement opportunity, work-life balance, community fit, work-group cohesion, leader-related factors, and pay, which have been found to be the antecedents of employee turnover intention. Most importantly, we found that community fit is a new category for explaining the turnover intention of hotel employees. Employees were more likely to stay in a city with good environmental quality, and to pursue their career goals in a city that fits their values or lifestyles well. By contrast, employees may leave a city where they do not find an appropriate fit. Finally, the practical implications of reducing employee turnover are discussed.

Abstract:Purpose This study aims to provide a critical reflection research that was carried out to understand more fully how employee turnover has been critical to hotel management's strategies for constructing a better workplace. Human resources decisions need to be made carefully based on a clear grasp of their effects on hotels and their staff. Design/methodology/approach A critical review was conducted with a sample of 160 academic papers that reported findings on staff turnover intentions in hotels. Findings The results include a concept map that highlights the two main dimensions found by researchers: hotel staff turnover consequences (i.e. customer satisfaction and financial performance) and antecedents (i.e. individual, job-related, relationship, organisational and opportunities). Research limitations/implications The findings underline that staff retention strategies need to focus on managing job-related, organisational and relationship variables as hotel managers have little influence on individual and job opportunity factors. Originality/value This study examined 20 years of research summarised in an up-to-date conceptual map. The findings have cross-disciplinary implications.

Abstract:The hotel industry has been characterized as having excessive levels of turnover. Hotels' employee turnover has always been a hot research topic at home and abroad academic fields. By collecting and analyzing domestic and overseas literatures of hotels' employee turnover,it is found out that literatures of home and abroad mainly focused on four content fields,included influencing effects of hotels' employee turnover,influencing factors of hotels' employee turnover,theory model and empirical research,countermeasures and suggestions. Under the analysis of contributions and weak points of present literatures,six future research suggestions on this topic are discussed. These topics are new theory perspective research,influencing factors integration research,theory research and empirical research indigenous research on hotels' employee turnover of China,new moderator research,employee segmentation research,quantitative research on influencing effects of hotels' employee turnover.

Abstract:Being short of general awareness of the existing researches,current researches on the hotel staff turnover are homogenization and incompetent to practical guidance,so the summary-style overview of domestic study of the hotel staff turnover is particularly necessary.Sorting out the relevant literature about the hotel staff loss,this paper carries out literature reviews of incentives,influence,managing and controlling measures of employee loss in the hotels first.Then this article makes further critical analysis of their age distribution,research content,research perspectives,subjects,research methods of all the literatures.Finally it points out the inadequacies of current studies,and puts forward some suggestion for future research.

Abstract:Purpose The authors wanted to study hotels because of the alarmingly high turnover of staff, which varies between 22% and 80% across countries. They said previous studies of the importance of HRM had addressed other different sectors in the hospitality industry. Design/methodology/approach The authors carried out semi-structured interviews with eight males and seven females aged between 23 and 52 years old. They were all at junior, or mid-management, level. They had experience of working in a lot of different departments, including marketing, HRM, front office, public relations and finance. The interviews of between 45 minutes and an hour were carried out in cafes. All names were changed in the paper. Findings The in-depth interviews revealed that the way in which HR departments implement policies makes all the difference to staff retention rates. The authors said their study demonstrated the powerful role of HR departments in hotels and that hotel employees expected them to play proactive roles in promoting their wellbeing at work. Originality/value Studies of the impact of HRM on staff turnover in the hotel sector in China have been rare.

Abstract:New employee turnover has long been a concern of those who investigate human resources issues. According to Hong Kong hotel statistics, the average annual turnover rate of employees with less than 1 year of service was between 44% and 66% for the period between 1985 and 1999. Excessive employee turnover is costly. It also dampens employee morale and affects the service quality for hotel guests. The objectives of this study are to investigate the impact of job and social factors on new employees'organizational commitment and intentions to leave. The authors collected 249 self-administered questionnaires, the results of which showed that subjective norm and training are related to turnover intention, whereas subjective norm, mentorship, and the job itself are related to organizational commitment. Training, family-gathering functions, selection of quality mentors, and job enrichment are possible solutions to retain committed newcomers and reduce turnover rates.

Abstract:Hotel staff performance evaluation,as an important part of human resource management,plays an important role in the interests of employees and enterprises and also affects the development of enterprises.However,the performance evaluation is simply regarded as means of distribution of salaries and rewards in many hotels.There is no scientific system of evaluating the employees' performance.A multi-dimensional evaluating system with quantification of assessment criteria,human-centered assessment methods and transparent assessment results should be established to evaluate the employees in order to encourage staff and reach the final strategic goals of enterprises.

Abstract:With the continuous changes of society and economy, people's quality of life has also made great progress and improvement. More and more hotels appear in the public's vision and occupy a certain market share. With the rapid expansion of the tertiary industry, the result of employee recruitment efficiency is not satisfactory. There are some problems, such as no focus on the recruitment channels of grass-roots employees, unreasonable recruitment process, imperfect interview and test methods, and no comprehensive post evaluation. To solve the existing problems, actively promote the recruitment of the hotel industry from the perspective of the Chinese market, and establish an efficient recruitment system is an important work of hotel grass-roots staff recruitment. This paper analyzes and improves the problems of hotel grass-roots employees in recruitment channels, recruitment processes and recruitment and selection methods, so as to provide help to improve the efficiency of hotel recruitment. It can provide an effective reference for the domestic hotel industry in the recruitment of grass-roots employees.
