Abstract:We will present an estimate for the first eigenvalue of the Dirichlet and Neumann problems in terms of the Bakry-Émery Ricci curvature for a compact weighted manifold. As an application we will establish a stability condition for a h-minimal hypersurface.

By using the F functional and F-stability which were introduced by Huisken and Colding-Minicozzi respectively, we prove that among all complete f-minimal hypersurfaces with polynomial volume growth, only M-n x {0} is F-stable.

Abstract:The authors consider the problem of conformally deforming a metric such that the k-curvature defined by an elementary symmetric function of the eigenvalues of the Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor on a compact manifold with boundary to a prescribed function. A consequence of our main result is that there exists a complete metric such that the Monge-Ampère type equation with respect to its Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor is solvable, provided that the initial Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor belongs to a negative convex cone.

Abstract:We prove that for a compact Finsler manifold M with nonnegative weighted Ricci curvature,if its first closed(resp.Neumann)eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian attains the sharp lower bound,then M is isometric to a circle(resp.a segment).Moreover,a lower bound of the first eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian with Dirichlet boundary condition is also estimated.These generalize the corresponding results in recent literature.

Abstract:We develop geometric analysis on weighted Riemannian manifolds under lower $0$-weighted Ricci curvature bounds. Under such curvature bounds, we prove a first Steklov eigenvalue estimate of Wang-Xia type on compact weighted manifolds with boundary, and a first eigenvalue estimate of Choi-Wang type on closed weighted minimal hypersurfaces. We also produce an ABP estimate and a Sobolev inequality of Brendle type.

Abstract:We derive various eigenvalue estimates for the Hodge Laplacian acting on differential forms on weighted Riemannian manifolds. Our estimates unify and extend various results from the literature and provide a number of geometric applications. In particular, we derive an inequality which relates the eigenvalues of the Jacobi operator for f -minimal hypersurfaces and the spectrum of the Hodge Laplacian.

Abstract:In this paper, we compute the second variation of the first Dirichlet eigenvalue on extremal domains in general Riemannian manifolds and establish a criterion for stability. We classify the stable extremal domains in the 2-sphere and higher-dimensional spheres when the boundary is minimal. Additionally, we establish topological bounds for stable domains in a general compact Riemannian surface, assuming either nonnegative total Gaussian curvature or small volume.

Abstract:We study equilibrium problem on general Riemannian manifolds, focusing on existence of solutions and the convexity properties of the solution set. Our approach consists in relating the equilibrium problem to a suitable variational inequality problem on Riemannian manifolds, and is completely different from previous ones on this topic in the literature. We apply our results to the mixed variational inequality and the Nash equilibrium problem. Moreover, we formulate and analyze the convergence of the proximal point algorithm for the equilibrium problem. In particular, correct proofs are provided for the results claimed in J. Math. Anal. Appl. 388 (2012) 61–77 (i.e., Theorems 3.5 and 4.9 there) regarding the existence of the mixed variational inequality and the domain of the resolvent for the equilibrium problem on Hadamard manifolds.

Abstract:We show that the generalized Ricci tensor of a weighted complete Riemannian manifold can be retrieved asymptotically from a scaled metric derivative of Wasserstein 1-distances between normalized weighted local volume measures. As an application, we demonstrate that the limiting coarse curvature of random geometric graphs sampled from Poisson point process with non-uniform intensity converges to the generalized Ricci tensor.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove two rigidity results of hypersurfaces in n -dimensional weighted Riemannian manifolds with weighted scalar curvature bounded from below. Firstly, we establish a splitting theorem for the n -dimensional weighted Riemannian manifold via a weighted area-minimizing hypersurface. Secondly, we observe the topological invariance of the weighted stable hypersurface when the ambient weighted scalar curvature is bounded from below by a positive constant. In particular, we derive a non-existence result for a weighted stable hypersurface.

Abstract:We introduce capillary hypersurfaces and its stability in a manifold with density. We prove that stable f-minimal hypersurfaces with free boundary in a geodesic ball in space form with suitable radial density must be totally geodesic. We also prove two criteria for instability of the capillary hypersurfaces in a Euclidean ball with suitable density. At last, we obtain a topological restriction on strongly stable capillary surfaces in a 3-manifold with density under certain conditions. These results generalize those in a manifold with constant density.

Abstract:In a previous paper, we showed that the blowup of a weighted extremal Kähler manifold at a relatively stable fixed point admits a weighted extremal metric. Using this result, we prove that a weighted extremal manifold is relatively weighted K-polystable. In particular, a weighted cscK manifold is weighted K-polystable. This strengthens both the weighted K-semistability proved by Lahdili and Inoue, and the weighted K-polystability with respect to smooth degenerations by Apostolov--Jubert--Lahdili, allowing for possibly singular degenerations.

Stability of Sobolev inequalities on Riemannian manifolds with Ricci curvature lower bounds

Abstract:We study the qualitative stability of two classes of Sobolev inequalities on Riemannian manifolds. In the case of positive Ricci curvature, we prove that an almost extremal function for the sharp Sobolev inequality is close to an extremal function of the round sphere. In the setting of non-negative Ricci curvature and Euclidean volume growth, we show an analogous result in comparison with the extremal functions in the Euclidean Sobolev inequality. As an application, we deduce a stability result for minimizing Yamabe metrics. The arguments rely on a generalized Lions' concentration compactness on varying spaces and on rigidity results of Sobolev inequalities on singular spaces.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, we consider locally wedge-shaped manifolds, which are Riemannian manifolds that are allowed to have both boundary and certain types of edges. We define and study the properties of free boundary minimal hypersurfaces inside locally wedge-shaped manifolds. In particular, we show a compactness theorem for free boundary minimal hypersurfaces with curvature and area bounds in a locally wedge-shaped manifold. Additionally, using Schoen–Simon–Yau’s estimates, we also prove a Bernstein-type theorem indicating that, under certain conditions, a stable free boundary minimal hypersurface inside a Euclidean wedge must be a portion of a hyperplane. As our main application, we establish a curvature estimate for sufficiently regular free boundary minimal hypersurfaces in a locally wedge-shaped manifold with certain wedge angle assumptions. We expect this curvature estimate will be useful for establishing a min-max theory for the area functional in wedge-shaped spaces.

Stability and largeness properties of minimal surfaces in higher codimension

Abstract:We consider stable minimal surfaces of genus 1 in Euclidean space and in Riemannian manifolds. Under the condition of covering stability (all finite covers are stable) we show that a genus 1 finite total curvature minimal surface in $\mathbb R^n$ lies in an even dimensional affine subspace and is holomorphic for some constant orthogonal complex structure. For stable minimal tori in Riemannian manifolds we give an explicit bound on the systole in terms of a positive lower bound on the isotropic curvature. As an application we estimate the systole of noncyclic abelian subgroups of the fundamental group of PIC manifolds. This gives a new proof of the result of [5] that the fundamental cannot contain a noncyclic free abelian subgroup. The proofs apply the structure theory of holomorphic vector bundles over genus 1 Riemann surfaces developed by M. Atiyah [2].

Critical domains for certain Dirichlet integrals in weighted manifolds

Abstract:We start by revisiting the derivation of the variational formulae for the functional assigning to a bounded regular domain in a Riemannian manifold its first Dirichlet eigenvalue and extend it to (not necessarily bounded) domains in certain weighted manifolds. This is further extended to other functionals defined by certain Dirichlet energy integrals, with a Morse index formula for the corresponding critical domains being established. We complement these infinitesimal results by proving a couple of global rigidity theorems for (possibly critical) domains in Gaussian half-space, including an Alexandrov-type soap bubble theorem. Although we provide direct proofs of these latter results, we find it worthwhile to point out that the main tools employed (specifically, certain Pohozhaev and Reilly identities) can be formally understood as limits (when the dimension goes to infinity) of tools previously established by Ciarolo-Vezzoni and Qiu-Xia to handle similar problems in round hemispheres, with the notion of "convergence" of weighted manifolds being loosely inspired by the celebrated Poincaré's limit theorem in the theory of Gaussian random vectors.

Abstract:In this paper, we compute the index and nullity for minimal submanifolds of some complex Einstein spaces. We investigate the stability of these minimal submanifolds and suggest a criterion for instability for some cases. We also compute some higher eigenvalues for the Laplacian of the Berger spheres and provide with an algorithm.
