Abstract:An arithmetical structure on a finite and connected graph G is a pair (d, r) of positive integer vectors such that r is primitive (the gcd of its entries is 1) and (diag(d) - A)r = 0, where A is the adjacency matrix of G. In this article, we investigate arithmetical structures on the wheel graphs.

Abstract:An arithmetical structure on a finite, connected graph without loops is an assignment of positive integers to the vertices that satisfies certain conditions. Associated to each of these is a finite abelian group known as its critical group. We show how to determine the critical group of an arithmetical structure on a star graph or complete graph in terms of the entries of the arithmetical structure. We use this to investigate which finite abelian groups can occur as critical groups of arithmetical structures on these graphs.

Abstract:An arithmetical structure on the complete graph $K_n$ with $n$ vertices is given by a collection of $n$ positive integers with no common factor each of which divides their sum. We show that, for all positive integers $c$ less than a certain bound depending on $n$, there is an arithmetical structure on $K_n$ with largest value $c$. We also show that, if each prime factor of $c$ is greater than $(n+1)^2/4$, there is no arithmetical structure on $K_n$ with largest value $c$. We apply these results to study which prime numbers can occur as the largest value of an arithmetical structure on $K_n$.

Abstract:In this paper a subset of High-Dimensional Random Apollonian networks, that we called Wheel Random Apollonian Graphs (WRAG), is considered. We show how to generate a Wheel Random Apollonian Graph from a wheel graph. We analyse some basic graph properties like vertices and edges cardinality, some question concerning cycles and the chromaticity in such type of graphs, we suggest further work on this type of graphs.

Abstract:If G is a finite connected graph, then an arithmetical structure on $G$ is a pair of vectors $(\mathbf{d}, \mathbf{r})$ with positive integer entries such that $(\diag(\mathbf{d}) - A)\cdot \mathbf{r} = \mathbf{0}$, where $A$ is the adjacency matrix of $G$ and the entries of $\mathbf{r}$ have no common factor other than $1$. In this paper, we generalize the result of Archer, Bishop, Diaz-Lopez, García Puente, Glass, and Louwsma on enumerating arithmetical structures on bidents (also called coconut tree graphs $\CT{p}{2}$) to all coconut tree graphs $\CT{p}{s}$ which consists of a path on $p>0$ vertices to which we append $s>0$ leaves to the right most vertex on the path. We also give a characterization of smooth arithmetical structures on coconut trees when given number assignments to the leaf nodes.

Abstract:Given two graphs G_1 and G_2 , the Ramsey number R(G_1, G_2) is the smallest integer N such that, for any graph G of order N , either G_1 is a subgraph of G , or G_2 is a subgraph of the complement of G . We consider the case that G_1 is a cycle and G_2 is a (generalized) wheel. We expand the knowledge on exact values of Ramsey numbers in three directions: large cycles versus wheels of odd order; large wheels versus cycles of even order; and large cycles versus generalized odd wheels.

Abstract:Given two graphs G1 and G2, the Ramsey number R(G1, G2) is the smallest integer N such that, for any graph G of order N , either G1 is a subgraph of G, or G2 is a subgraph of the complement of G. Let Cn denote a cycle of order n, Wn a wheel of order n + 1 and Sn a star of order n. In this paper, it is shown that R(Wn, C4) = R(Sn+1, C4) for n ≥ 6. Based on this result and Parsons’ results on R(Sn+1, C4), we establish the best possible general upper bound for R(Wn, C4) and determine some exact values for R(Wn, C4).

Abstract:Let G be a graph with n vertices, let A(G) be an adjacency matrix of G and let P-A(G,lambda) be the characteristic polynomial of A(G). The adjacency spectrum of G consists of eigenvalues of A(G). A graph G is said to be determined by its adjacency spectrum (DS for short) if other graphs with the same adjacency spectrum as G are isomorphic to G. In this paper, we investigate the spectral characterization of unicycle graphs with only two vertices of degree three. We use G(21)(s(1),s(2)) to denote the graph obtained from Q(s(1),s(2)) by identifying its pendant vertex and the vertex of degree two of P-3, where Q(s(1),s(2)) is the graph obtained by identifying a vertex of C-s1 and a pendant vertex of P-s2. We use G(31)(t(1),t(2)) to denote the graph obtained from circle with the vertices v(0)v(1)...v(t1+t2+1) by adding one pendant edge at vertices v(0) and v(t1+1), respectively. It is shown that G(21)(s(1),s(2)) (s(1)not equal 4,6, s(1)>= 3, s(2)>= 3) and G(31)(t(1),t(2)) (t(1)+t(2)not equal 2, t(2)>= t(1)>= 1) are determined by their adjacency spectrum.

Abstract:A wheel is a graph formed by a chordless cycle and a vertex that has at least three neighbors in the cycle. We prove that every 3-connected graph that does not contain a wheel as a subgraph is in fact minimally 3-connected. We give a new proof of a theorem of Thomassen and Toft: every graph that does not contain a wheel as a subgraph is 3-colorable.

Let Cn denote a cycle of order n and Wm a wheel of order m+1. In this paper, we show that R(Cn,Wm)=3n−2 for m odd, n≥m≥3 and (n,m)≠(3,3), which was conjectured by Surahmat, Baskoro and Tomescu.

Abstract:Distinctive power of the alliance polynomial has been studied in previous works, for instance, it has been proved that the empty, path, cycle, complete, complete without one edge and star graphs are characterized by its alliance polynomial. Moreover, it has been proved that the family of alliance polynomial of regular graphs with small degree is a very special one, since it does not contain alliance polynomial of graphs other than regular graph with the same degree. In this work we prove that the alliance polynomial also determines the wheel graphs.

Abstract:A graph G is said to be M-integral (resp. A-integral, D-integral, DL-integral or DQ-integral) if all eigenvalues of its matrix M (resp. adjacency matrix A(G), distance matrix D(G), distance Laplacian matrix DL(G) or distance signless Laplacian matrix DQ(G)) are integers. Lu et al. [Discrete Math, 346 (2023)] defined the generalized wheel graph GW(a, m, n) as the join of two regular graphs aKm and Cn, and obtained all D-integral generalized wheel graphs. Based on the above research, in this paper, we determine all DL-integral and DQ-integral generalized wheel graphs respectively. As byproducts, we give a sufficient and necessary condition for the join of two regular graphs G1 and G2 to be DL-integral, from which we can get infinitely many new classes of DL-integral graphs according to the large number of research results about the A-integral graphs.

Abstract:We can define six classes of endomorphisms on a graph, and they always form a chain based on set inclusion. The concepts of endomorphism type and endomorphism spectrum were introduced by Böttcher and Knauer in 1992. They provided a systematic and organized approach to study endomorphisms of graphs. In this paper, we focus on the double vertex wheel graphs and provide a detailed description of their endomorphism spectra and endomorphism types.

Abstract:A graph's edge labeling involves the allocation of symbols (colors or numbers) to the edges of a graph governed by specific criteria. Such labeling of a graph G with order n and size m is named edge odd graceful if there is a bijective map φ from the set of edges E(G)={e1,...,em} to the set {1,3,...,2m−1} in a way that the derived transformation φ* from the vertex-set V(G)={v1,...,vn} to the set {0,1,2,...,2m−1} given by φ*(u)=∑uv∈E(G)φ(uv)mod(2m) is injective. Any graph is named edge odd graceful if it permits an edge odd graceful allocation (Solairaju and Chithra). The primary aim of this study is to define and explore the edge odd graceful labeling of five new families of wheel-related graphs. Consequently, necessary and sufficient conditions for these families to be edge odd graceful are provided.

Abstract:We study the number of connected graphs with $n$ vertices that cannot be written as the cartesian product of two graphs with fewer vertices. We give an upper bound which implies that for large $n$ almost all graphs are both connected and cartesian prime. For graphs with an even number of vertices, a full asymptotic expansion is obtained. Our method, inspired by Knopfmacher's theory of arithmetical semigroups, is based on reduction to Wright's asymptotic expansion for the number of connected graphs with $n$ vertices.

Abstract:In this paper we introduced an arithmetic graph function which associates with every group G the directed graph whose vertices corresponds to the divisors of |G|. With the help of such functions we introduced arithmetic graphs of classes of groups, in particular of hereditary saturated formations. We formulated the problem of the recognition of classes of groups by arithmetic graph functions and investigated this problem for some arithmetic graph functions.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a connected graph on $n$ vertices with adjacency matrix $A_G$. Associated to $G$ is a polynomial $d_G(x_1,\dots, x_n)$ of degree $n$ in $n$ variables, obtained as the determinant of the matrix $M_G(x_1,\dots,x_n)$, where $M_G={\rm Diag}(x_1,\dots,x_n)-A_G$. We investigate in this article the set $V_{d_G}(r)$ of non-negative values taken by this polynomial when $x_1, \dots, x_n \geq r \geq 1$. We show that $V_{d_G}(1) = {\mathbb Z}_{\geq 0}$. We show that for a large class of graphs one also has $V_{d_G}(2) = {\mathbb Z}_{\geq 0}$. When $V_{d_G}(2) \neq {\mathbb Z}_{\geq 0}$, we show that for many graphs $V_{d_G}(2) $ is dense in $ {\mathbb Z}_{\geq 0}$. We give numerical evidence that in many cases, the complement of $V_{d_G}(2) $ in $ {\mathbb Z}_{\geq 0}$ might in fact be finite. As a byproduct of our results, we show that every graph can be endowed with an arithmetical structure whose associated group is trivial.
