Abstract:We obtain Szegő-type Limit Theorems in the setting of Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Spaces on discs in $\mathbb{C}$. From this, we derive a formula for the density of the eigenvalues of compressions of Toeplitz operators. Examples for the Bergman and Segal-Bargmann-Fock space are also presented.

Abstract:We discuss generalizations of the Szegő Limit Theorem to truncated Toeplitz operators. In particular, we consider compressions of Toeplitz operators to an increasing sequence of finite dimensional model spaces. We present two theorems. The first is a new variant of the Szegő Limit Theorem in this setting. The second relates to the variant given by Strouse-Timotin-Zarrabi in 2017, and characterizes the sequences for which that result holds.

Abstract:We obtain Szegő-type limit theorems for Toeplitz operators on the weighted Bergman spaces $A^{2}_{\alpha}(\mathbb{D})$, and on $L^{2}(G)$ where $G$ is a compact Abelian group. We also derive several abstract Szegő limit theorems which include many related classical Szegő limit theorems as a special case.

Abstract:We consider Toeplitz operators in different Bergman type spaces, having radial symbols with variable sign. We show that if the symbol has compact support or decays rapidly, the eigenvalues of such operators cannot decay too fast, essentially faster than for a sign-definite symbol with the same kind. On the other hand, if the symbol decays not sufficiently rapidly, the eigenvalues of the corresponding operator may decay faster than for the operator corresponding to the absolute value of the symbol.

Abstract:This paper is a follow-up to a recent article about the essential spectrum of Toeplitz operators acting on the Bergman space over the unit ball. As mentioned in the said article, some of the arguments can be carried over to the case of bounded symmetric domains and some cannot. The aim of this paper is to close the gaps to obtain comparable results for general bounded symmetric domains. In particular, we show that a Toeplitz operator on the Bergman space $A^p_{\nu}$ is Fredholm if and only if all of its limit operators are invertible. Even more generally, we show that this is in fact true for all band-dominated operators, an algebra that contains the Toeplitz algebra. Moreover, we characterize compactness and explain how the Berezin transform comes into play. In particular, we show that a bounded linear operator is compact if and only if it is band-dominated and its Berezin transform vanishes at the boundary. For $p = 2$ "band-dominated" can be replaced by "contained in the Toeplitz algebra".

Abstract:We develop a new semiclassical calculus in analytic regularity, and apply these techniques to the study of Berezin–Toeplitz quantization in real-analytic regularity. We provide asymptotic formulas for the Bergman projector and Berezin–Toeplitz operators on a compact Kähler manifold. These objects depend on an integer N and we study, in the limit $N\rightarrow +\infty $, situations in which one can control them up to an error $O(e^{-cN})$ for some $c>0$. We develop a calculus of Toeplitz operators with real-analytic symbols, which applies to Kähler manifolds with real-analytic metrics. In particular, we prove that the Bergman kernel is controlled up to $O(e^{-cN})$ on any real-analytic Kähler manifold as $N\rightarrow +\infty $. We also prove that Toeplitz operators with analytic symbols can be composed and inverted up to $O(e^{-cN})$. As an application, we study eigenfunction concentration for Toeplitz operators if both the manifold and the symbol are real-analytic. In this case we prove exponential decay in the classically forbidden region.
C*-algebras generated by radial Toeplitz operators on polyanalytic weighted Bergman spaces

Abstract:In a previous paper (Radial operators on polyanalytic weighted Bergman spaces, Bol. Soc. Mat. Mex. 27, 43), using disk polynomials as an orthonormal basis in the $n$-analytic weighted Bergman space, we showed that for every bounded radial generating symbol $a$, the associated Toeplitz operator, acting in this space, can be identified with a matrix sequence $\gamma(a)$, where the entries of the matrices are certain integrals involving $a$ and Jacobi polynomials. In this paper, we suppose that the generating symbols $a$ have finite limits on the boundary and prove that the C*-algebra generated by the corresponding matrix sequences $\gamma(a)$ is the C*-algebra of all matrix sequences having scalar limits at infinity. We use Kaplansky's noncommutative analog of the Stone--Weierstrass theorem and some ideas from several papers by Loaiza, Lozano, Ramírez-Ortega, Ramírez-Mora, and Sánchez-Nungaray. We also prove that for $n\ge 2$, the closure of the set of matrix sequences $\gamma(a)$ is not equal to the generated C*-algebra.

Abstract:We demonstrate that the weight operator associated with a submultiplicative filtration on the section ring of a polarized complex projective manifold is a Toeplitz operator. We further analyze the asymptotics of the associated weighted Bergman kernel, presenting the local refinement of earlier results on the convergence of jumping measures for submultiplicative filtrations towards the pushforward measure defined by the corresponding geodesic ray.

Abstract:We show that the limiting eigenvalue distribution of random symmetric Toeplitz matrices is absolutely continuous with density bounded by 8, partially answering a question of Bryc, Dembo and Jiang (2006). The main tool used in the proof is a spectral averaging technique from the theory of random Schrödinger operators. The similar question for Hankel matrices remains open.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a finite pseudoreflection group and $\Omega\subseteq \mathbb C^d$ be a bounded domain which is a $G$-space. We establish identities involving Toeplitz operators on the weighted Bergman spaces of $\Omega$ and $\Omega/G$ using invariant theory and representation theory of $G.$ This, in turn, provides techniques to study algebraic properties of Toeplitz operators on the weighted Bergman space on $\Omega/G.$ We specialize on the generalized zero-product problem and characterization of commuting pairs of Toeplitz operators. As a consequence, more intricate results on Toeplitz operators on the weighted Bergman spaces on some specific quotient domains (namely symmetrized polydisc, monomial polyhedron, Rudin's domain) have been obtained.

Abstract:We study the boundedness of Toeplitz operators $T_\psi$ with locally integrable symbols on weighted harmonic Bergman spaces over the unit ball of $\mathbb{R}^n$. Generalizing earlier results for analytic function spaces, we derive a general sufficient condition for the boundedness of $T_\psi$ in terms of suitable averages of its symbol. We also obtain a similar "vanishing" condition for compactness. Finally, we show how these results can be transferred to the setting of the standard weighted Bergman spaces of analytic functions.

Abstract:In this paper we study the Fredholm properties of Toeplitz operators acting on weighted Bergman spaces $A^p_{\nu}(\mathbb{B}^n)$, where $p \in (1,\infty)$ and $\mathbb{B}^n \subset \mathbb{C}^n$ denotes the $n$-dimensional open unit ball. Let $f$ be a continuous function on the Euclidean closure of $\mathbb{B}^n$. It is well-known that then the corresponding Toeplitz operator $T_f$ is Fredholm if and only if $f$ has no zeros on the boundary $\partial\mathbb{B}^n$. As a consequence, the essential spectrum of $T_f$ is given by the boundary values of $f$. We extend this result to all operators in the algebra generated by Toeplitz operators with bounded symbol (in a sense to be made precise down below). The main ideas are based on the work of Suarez et al. and limit operator techniques coming from similar problems on the sequence space $\ell^p(\mathbb{Z})$.

Abstract:The Fock space $\mathcal{F}(\mathbb{C}^n)$ is the space of holomorphic functions on $\mathbb{C}^n$ that are square-integrable with respect to the Gaussian measure on $\mathbb{C}^n$. This space plays an important role in several subfields of analysis and representation theory. In particular, it has for a long time been a model to study Toeplitz operators. Esmeral and Maximenko showed in 2016 that radial Toeplitz operators on $\mathcal{F}(\mathbb{C})$ generate a commutative $C^*$-algebra which is isometrically isomorphic to the $C^*$-algebra $C_{b,u}(\mathbb{N}_0,\rho_1)$. In this article, we extend the result to $k$-quasi-radial symbols acting on the Fock space $\mathcal{F}(\mathbb{C}^n)$. We calculate the spectra of the said Toeplitz operators and show that the set of all eigenvalue functions is dense in the $C^*$-algebra $C_{b,u}(\mathbb{N}_0^k,\rho_k)$ of bounded functions on $\mathbb{N}_0^k$ which are uniformly continuous with respect to the square-root metric. In fact, the $C^*$-algebra generated by Toeplitz operators with quasi-radial symbols is $C_{b,u}(\mathbb{N}_0^k,\rho_k)$.

Abstract:We reconsider studies of Toeplitz operators on function spaces (the weighted Bergman space, the generalized derivative Hardy space) and the H-Toeplitz operators on the Bergman space. Past studies have considered the presence or absence of hyponormality or questions of contractivity or expansivity; we provide structure theorems for these operators that allow us to recapture, and often considerably improve, these results. In some cases these operators or their adjoints are actually in more restrictive classes, such as subnormal or moment infinitely divisible ($\mathcal{MID}$).
