Abstract:We provide a procedure for generating the irreducible representations of crystallography groups in any dimension. We also furnish a strategy to investigate the topology of the unitary dual of a crystallography group using sequences of matrices. All irreducible representations (up to unitary equivalence) of the dimension 3 crystallography group 90 and some calculations involving sequences of these irreducible representations are included as a proof of concept of this procedure and strategy.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problems that this paper attempts to solve can be divided into two main aspects: 1. **Generating irreducible representations**: The paper provides a systematic method to generate irreducible representations of lattice groups (i.e., crystallographic groups) in arbitrary dimensions. This solves the computational challenge of generating a complete list of irreducible representations. 2. **Studying the spatial topology of the unitary dual**: The paper proposes a strategy to study the topological structure of the unitary dual of lattice groups (i.e., the set of irreducible unitary representations, modulo unitary equivalence) through matrix sequences. This solves the problem that the unitary dual is usually difficult to handle once constructed, because these spaces are often not Hausdorff spaces. Specifically, the main contributions of the paper include: - Providing the code for generating irreducible representations of lattice groups and using the computational group theory software GAP and its package CrystCat. - Using Mackey Machine theory to describe the unitary dual of certain groups and combining projective representation theory to actually calculate these irreducible representations. - Applying C* -algebra techniques to study the topological properties of the unitary dual through matrix sequences. Through these methods, the paper not only solves the computational problem of generating irreducible representations but also provides an effective means of analyzing the topological structure of these representations. In particular, the paper takes the three - dimensional lattice group 90 as an example to show the specific application of these methods.
