Abstract:In this paper, we have investigated the role of $H_0$ priors in describing $H_0$ tension and late-time cosmic behavior of the Universe in the framework of $f(T, \mathcal{T})$ gravity. The specific functional form of $f(T, \mathcal{T})$, where $T$ and $\mathcal{T}$ respectively denote the torsion scalar and trace of the energy-momentum tensor, has the potential to show the $H_0$ tension and late-time accelerating behavior. The model parameter space has been obtained using multiple cosmological data sets such as cosmic chronometers (CC), Supernovae Type Ia $PAN^+\&SH0ES$, and baryon acoustic oscillations (BAOs). Also, we have incorporated the $H_0$ priors from the Tip of the Red Giant Branch (TRGB) and HW. The analysis shows the ability of the model to replicate comparative performance with the standard $\Lambda$CDM model through AIC and BIC. From the results obtained, it has been observed that the inclusion of the BAO data set shifts the $H_0$ values lower as compared to that of the $CC+PAN^+\&SH0ES$ data set, whereas the combination of HW prior favors higher $H_0$ values. This demonstrates the sensitivity of the model to different $H_0$ priors. The findings indicate that the $f(T, \mathcal{T})$ gravity model can provide an alternative approach to show cosmological tension and late-time cosmic phenomena.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main problems that this paper attempts to solve are the H0 tension in cosmology and the phenomena in the late - universe. Specifically, by studying the role of H0 priors in the f(T,T) gravitational theory framework, the author explores how these priors affect the measured value of the Hubble constant H0 and the late - universe behavior. The H0 tension refers to the significant difference between the values of the Hubble constant H0 obtained through different observational methods, and this difference poses a challenge to the standard ΛCDM model. ### Paper Background In contemporary cosmology, the behavior of the late - universe is an intriguing puzzle. Observational evidence indicates that an unknown energy component is driving the expansion of space - time in an accelerating manner, and this phenomenon is usually called Dark Energy. The standard ΛCDM model describes the universe as consisting of Cold Dark Matter (CDM) and Dark Energy represented by the cosmological constant Λ, and this model is supported by a variety of cosmological observations. However, the inconsistency between the Hubble constant H0 and the structure growth parameter S8 presents new challenges. ### Research Motivation The research motivation of the paper lies in exploring the influence of H0 priors on the H0 tension and the late - universe behavior. By introducing different H0 priors, the author hopes to evaluate how these priors change the estimated value of H0 and further understand the impact of these changes on the late - universe behavior. In addition, the author also hopes to provide a new way to explain the H0 tension through the f(T,T) gravitational theory. ### Main Research Contents 1. **Mathematical Formalization**: The paper first introduces the mathematical formalization of the f(T,T) gravitational theory, including concepts such as the quadruple vector field, Weitzenböck connection, and torsion tensor. 2. **Data Sets and Statistical Methods**: The author uses a variety of cosmological data sets, such as Cosmic Chronometers (CC), Type Ia supernovae (SNIa), and Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO), and conducts model comparison through the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) and the Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC). 3. **Result Analysis**: Through the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method, the author analyzes the best - fit parameters under different data set combinations and discusses the influence of H0 priors on the H0 estimated value. The results show that different data set combinations have a significant impact on the H0 estimated value. In particular, the BAO data set tends to reduce the H0 value, while the HW prior tends to increase the H0 value. ### Conclusion The conclusion of the paper is that the f(T,T) gravitational model can effectively reproduce the behavior of the standard ΛCDM model, and through different H0 priors, the H0 tension can be explained. This finding provides a new perspective for understanding the late - universe behavior and provides theoretical support for further research on fundamental problems in cosmology. ### Formula Summary - Definition of the torsion scalar \( T \): \[ T=\frac{1}{4}T^{\rho}_{\mu\nu}T^{\mu\nu}_{\rho}+\frac{1}{2}T^{\rho}_{\mu\nu}T^{\nu\mu}_{\rho}-T^{\rho}_{\rho\mu}T^{\nu\mu}_{\nu} \] - Lagrangian density of the f(T,T) gravitational theory: \[ S = \frac{1}{16\pi G}\int d^{4}x\left[T + f(T,T)+L_{m}\right] \] - Friedmann equation: \[ 3H^{2}=8\pi G\rho_{m}-\frac{1}{2}\left(f + 12H^{2}f_{T}\right)+f_{T}(\rho_{m}+p_{m}) \] \[ \dot{H}=-4\pi G(\rho_{m}+p_{m})-\dot{H}(f_{T}-12H^{2}f_{TT})-H\left(\dot{\rho}_{m}-3\dot{p}_{m}\right)f_{TT}-f_{T}\left(\frac{\rho_{m}+p_{m}}{2}\right)
