Abstract:Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a simple Lie algebra: its dual space $\mathfrak{g}^*$ is a Poisson variety. It is well known that for each nilpotent element $f$ in $\mathfrak{g}$, it is possible to construct a new Poisson structure by Hamiltonian reduction which is isomorphic to some subvariety of $\mathfrak{g}^*$, the Slodowy slice $S_f$. Given two nilpotent elements $f_1$ and $f_2$ with some compatibility assumptions, we prove Hamiltonian reduction by stages: the slice $S_{f_2}$ is the Hamiltonian reduction of the slice $S_{f_1}$. We also state an analogous result in the setting of finite W-algebras, which are quantizations of Slodowy slices. These results were conjectured by Morgan in his PhD thesis. As corollary in type A, we prove that any hook-type W-algebra can be obtained as Hamiltonian reduction from any other hook-type one. As an application, we establish a generalization of the Skryabin equivalence. Finally, we make some conjectures in the context of affine W-algebras.

Abstract:Originating in the work of A.M. Semikhatov and D. Adamović, inverse reductions are embeddings involving W-algebras corresponding to the same Lie algebra but different nilpotent orbits. Here, we show that an inverse reduction embedding between the affine $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}$ vertex operator algebra and the minimal $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}$ W-algebra exists. This generalises the realisations for $n=1,2$ in [<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1711.11342" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1711.11342">arXiv:1711.11342</a>, <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2110.15203" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2110.15203">arXiv:2110.15203</a>]. A similar argument is then used to show that inverse reduction embeddings exists between all hook-type $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}$ W-algebras, which includes the principal/regular, subregular, minimal $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}$ W-algebras, and the affine $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}$ vertex operator algebra. This generalises the regular-to-subregular inverse reduction of [<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2111.05536" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2111.05536">arXiv:2111.05536</a>], and similarly uses free-field realisations and their associated screening operators.

One dimensional representations of finite $W$-algebras, Dirac reduction and the orbit method

Abstract:In this paper we study the variety of one dimensional representations of a finite $W$-algebra attached to a classical Lie algebra, giving a precise description of the dimensions of the irreducible components. We apply this to prove a conjecture of Losev describing the image of his orbit method map. In order to do so we first establish new Yangian-type presentations of semiclassical limits of the $W$-algebras attached to distinguished nilpotent elements in classical Lie algebras, using Dirac reduction.

Abstract:We introduce the partial reductions and inverse Hamiltonian reductions between affine $\mathcal{W}$-algebras along the closure relations of associated nilpotent orbits in the case of $\mathfrak{sl}_4$, fulfilling all the missing constructions in the literature. We also apply the partial reductions to modules in the Kazhdan-Lusztig category and show compatibility with the usual reductions of Weyl modules.

Abstract:We formulate and prove examples of a conjecture which describes the W-algebras in type A as successive quantum Hamiltonian reductions of affine vertex algebras associated with several hook-type nilpotent orbits. This implies that the affine coset subalgebras of hook-type W-algebras are building blocks of the W-algebras in type A. In the rational case, it turns out that the building blocks for the simple quotients are provided by the minimal series of the regular W-algebras. In contrast, they are provided by singlet-type extensions of W-algebras at collapsing levels which are irrational. In the latter case, several new sporadic isomorphisms between different W-algebras are established.

Abstract:The representation theory of the Nappi-Witten VOA was initiated in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1104.3921" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1104.3921">arXiv:1104.3921</a> and <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2011.14453" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2011.14453">arXiv:2011.14453</a>. In this paper we use the technique of inverse quantum hamiltonian reduction to investigate the representation theory of the Nappi-Witten VOA $ V^1(\mathfrak h_4)$. We first prove that the quantum hamiltonian reduction of $ V^1(\mathfrak h_4)$ is the Heisenberg-Virasoro VOA $L^{HVir}$ of level zero investigated in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="math/0201314" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/math/0201314">arXiv:math/0201314</a> and <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1405.1707" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1405.1707">arXiv:1405.1707</a>. We invert the quantum hamiltonian reduction in this case and prove that $ V^1(\mathfrak h_4)$ is realized as a vertex subalgebra of $L^{HVir} \otimes \Pi$, where $\Pi$ is a certain lattice-like vertex algebra. Using such an approach we shall realize all relaxed highest weight modules which were classified in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2011.14453" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2011.14453">arXiv:2011.14453</a>. We show that every relaxed highest weight module, whose top components is neither highest nor lowest weight $\mathfrak h_4$-module, has the form $M_1 \otimes \Pi_{1} (\lambda)$ where $M_1$ is an irreducible, highest weight $L^{HVir}$-module and $\Pi_{1} (\lambda)$ is an irreducible weight $\Pi$-module. Using the fusion rules for $L^{HVir}$-modules and the previously developed methods of constructing logarithmic modules we are able to construct a family of logarithmic $V^1(\mathfrak h_4)$-modules. The Loewy diagrams of these logarithmic modules are completely analogous to the Loewy diagrams of projective modules of weight $L_k(\mathfrak{sl}(2))$-modules, so we expect that our logarithmic modules are also projective in a certain category of weight $ V^1(\mathfrak h_4)$-modules.

Abstract:We propose a q-difference version of the Drinfeld-Sokolov reduction scheme, which gives us q-deformations of the classical W-algebras by reduction from Poisson-Lie loop groups. We consider in detail the case of SL(2). The nontrivial consistency conditions fix the choice of the classical r-matrix defining the Poisson-Lie structure on the loop group LSL(2), and this leads to a new elliptic classical r-matrix. The reduced Poisson algebra coincides with the deformation of the classical Virasoro algebra previously defined in q-alg/9505025. We also consider a discrete analogue of this Poisson algebra. In the second part (q-alg/9702016) the construction is generalized to the case of an arbitrary semisimple Lie algebra.

Abstract:We provide a description of the Drinfeld-Sokolov Hamiltonian reduction for the construction of classical W-algebras within the framework of Poisson vertex algebras. In this context, the gauge group action on the phase space is translated in terms of (the exponential of) a Lie conformal algebra action on the space of functions. Following the ideas of Drinfeld and Sokolov, we then establish under certain sufficient conditions the applicability of the Lenard-Magri scheme of integrability and the existence of the corresponding integrable hierarchy of bi-Hamiltonian equations.

Abstract:In this paper, we study representations of non-finitely graded Lie algebras $\mathcal{W}(\epsilon)$ related to Virasoro algebra, where $\epsilon = \pm 1$. Precisely speaking, we completely classify the free $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak h)$-modules of rank one over $\mathcal{W}(\epsilon)$,and find that these module structures are rather different from those of other graded Lie algebras. We also determine the simplicity and isomorphism classes of these modules.

Abstract:We obtain exhaustive classification of inequivalent realizations of the Witt and Virasoro algebras by Lie vector fields of differential operators in the space $\mathbb{R}^3$. Using this classification we describe all inequivalent realizations of the direct sum of the Witt algebras in $\mathbb{R}^3$. These results enable constructing all possible (1+1)-dimensional classically integrable equations that admit infinite dimensional symmetry algebra isomorphic to the Witt or the direct sum of Witt algebras. In this way the new classically integrable nonlinear PDE in one spatial dimension has been obtained. In addition, we construct a number of new nonlinear (1+1)-dimensional PDEs admitting infinite symmetries.

Abstract:We study the quantum finite W-algebras W(glN,f), associated to the Lie algebra glN, and its arbitrary nilpotent element f. We construct for such an algebra an r1×r1 matrix L(z) of Yangian type, where r1 is the number of maximal parts of the partition corresponding to f. The matrix L(z) is the quantum finite analogue of the operator of Adler type which we introduced in the classical affine setup. As in the latter case, the matrix L(z) is obtained as a generalized quasideterminant. It should encode the whole structure of W(glN,f), including explicit formulas for generators and the commutation relations among them. We describe in all detail the examples of principal, rectangular and minimal nilpotent elements.
Classification of irreducible Harish-Chandra modules over full toroidal Lie algebras and higher-dimensional Virasoro algebras

Abstract:In this paper, we completely classify the irreducible Harish-Chandra modules over the full toroidal Lie algebra, which is a natural higher-dimensional analogue of the affine-Virasoro algebra. As a by-product, we also obtain the classification of all possible irreducible Harish-Chandra modules over the higher-dimensional Virasoro algebra, which was introduced by Rao--Moody [Comm. Math. Phys. 1994] These directly generalize the well-known result of O. Mathieu [Invent. Math. 1992] for the classical Virasoro algebra and also the recent work of Billig-Futorny [J. Reine Angew. Math. 2016] for the higher rank Witt algebra. In particular, we show that any irreducible Harish-Chandra module over the higher-dimensional Virasoro algebra turns out to be either a quotient of a module of tensor fields on a torus or a highest weight type module up to a twist of an automorphism, as conjectured by Eswara Rao in 2004.
