Abstract:These are lectures notes of my talks at the IHES summer school on the Langlands program in 2022. We give an introduction to the notion of Shtukas, their relation with more familiar geometric objects, their moduli spaces and applications to automorphic forms.

Abstract:Classical modular forms on the upper half plane, with respect to the modular group SL(2,Z) and its congruence subgroups, have arisen naturally in number theory, complex analysis, topology, mathematical physics, and many other subjects. The closely related automorphic representations are basic notions in the celebrated Langlands program, which was proposed by Langlands in the late 1960s and has since revolutionized the fields of number theory, arithmetic algebraic geometry, and representation theory. This volume consists of expanded lecture notes from a 2007 international conference in Guangzhou, China, at which several leading experts in number theory presented introductions to, and surveys of, many aspects of automorphic forms and the Langlands program. Abstract:Geometric/arithmetic theta correspondences provide correspondences between automorphic forms and cohomology classes/algebraic cycles on Shimura varieties. We give an introduction focusing on the example of unitary groups and highlight recent advances in the arithmetic theory (also known as the Kudla program) and their applications. These are expanded lecture notes for the IHES 2022 Summer School on the Langlands Program.

Abstract:In these lecture notes, we provide an introduction to the moduli space of Riemann surfaces, a fundamental concept in the theories of 2D quantum gravity, topological string theory, and matrix models. We begin by reviewing some basic results concerning the recursive boundary structure of the moduli space and the associated cohomology theory. We then present Witten's celebrated conjecture and its generalisation, framing it as a recursive computation of cohomological field theory correlators via topological recursion. We conclude with a discussion of JT gravity in relation to hyperbolic geometry and topological strings. These lecture notes accompanied a series of lectures at the Les Houches school "Quantum Geometry (Mathematical Methods for Gravity, Gauge Theories and Non-Perturbative Physics)" in Summer 2024.

Abstract:These notes cover the lectures of the first named author at 2021 IHES Summer School on "Enumerative Geometry, Physics and Representation Theory" with additional details and references. They cover the definition of Khovanov-Rozansky triply graded homology, its basic properties and recent advances, as well as three algebro-geometric models for link homology: braid varieties, Hilbert schemes of singular curves and affine Springer fibers, and Hilbert schemes of points on the plane.

Moduli spaces in positive geometry

Abstract:These are lecture notes for five lectures given at MPI Leipzig in May 2024. We study the moduli space M_{0,n} of n distinct points on P^1 as a positive geometry and a binary geometry. We develop mathematical formalism to study Cachazo-He-Yuan's scattering equations and the associated scalar and Yang-Mills amplitudes. We discuss open superstring amplitudes and relations to tropical geometry.

Moduli spaces of level structures on mixed characteristic local shtukas

Abstract:We consider the flat moduli space of parahoric level structures on a local shtuka and show that it is representable over a smooth $p$-adic formal scheme by establishing the dilatation theory of $v$-sheaves. We apply this result to the canonical integral model of a Shimura variety at hyperspecial level and identify the flat moduli space of parahoric level structures with the canonical integral model at the corresponding parahoric level. We prove a similar result for integral models of local Shimura varieties.

Abstract:Feng-Yun-Zhang have proved a function field analogue of the arithmetic Siegel-Weil formula, relating special cycles on moduli spaces of unitary shtukas to higher derivatives of Eisenstein series. We prove an extension of this formula in a low-dimensional case, and deduce from it a Gross-Zagier style formula expressing intersection multiplicities of cycles in terms of higher derivatives of base-change $L$-functions.

Abstract:This manuscript provides a more detailed treatment of the material from my lecture series at the 2022 Arizona Winter School on Automorphic Forms Beyond $GL_2$. The main focus of this manuscript is automorphic forms on unitary groups, with a view toward algebraicity results. Abstract:This is a note in which we first review symmetries of moduli spaces of stable meromorphic connections on trivial vector bundles over the Riemann sphere, and next discuss symmetries of their integrable deformations as an application. Abstract:These are the notes for a minicourse taught at the 2022 ICTP summer school `Frontiers in Geometry and Topology'. The goal is to introduce families of Dirac operators and how they can be used to study interactions between geometry and topology. Abstract:We discuss recent developments in the Langlands program for function fields, and in the geometric Langlands program. In particular we explain a canonical decomposition of the space of cuspidal automorphic forms for any reductive group G over a function field, indexed by global Langlands parameters. The proof uses the cohomology of G-shtukas with multiple modifications and the geometric Satake equivalence.

Abstract:In this survey we provide an overview of some recent developments in the construction of moduli spaces using stack-theoretic techniques. We will also explain the analogue of Harder-Narasimhan stratifications for general stacks, known as $\Theta$-stratifications. As an application of the ideas exposed here, we address the moduli problem of principal bundles over higher dimensional projective varieties, as well as its different compactifications by the so-called principal $\rho$-sheaves. We construct a stratification by instability types whose lower strata admits a proper good moduli space of ``Gieseker semistable" objects and a new Gieseker-type Harder-Narasimhan filtration for these objects. Detailed proofs of the latter results will appear elsewhere.
