Abstract:The study of symmetries of partial differential equations (PDEs) has been traditionally treated as a geometrical problem. Although geometrical methods have been proven effective with regard to finding infinitesimal symmetry transformations, they present certain conceptual difficulties in the case of matrix-valued PDEs; for example, the usual differential-operator representation of the symmetry-generating vector fields is not possible in this case. In this article an algebraic approach to the symmetry problem of PDEs - both scalar and matrix-valued - is described, based on abstract operators (characteristic derivatives) that admit a standard differential-operator representation in the case of scalar-valued PDEs. A number of examples are given.

Abstract:The main aim of the present work deals with the various derivatives to any order of the Humbert confluent hypergeometric functions with respect to the parameters is presented, believed to be new, by using the conception of the calculus. The present paper contains various properties and compact forms for the derivatives with respect to the parameters for the Humbert confluent hypergeometric functions. A few interesting new as well as certain related results are also discussed in the analysis of the properties.

Abstract:A generic polynomial f(x,y,z) with a prescribed Newton polytope defines a symmetric spatial curve f(x,y,z)=f(y,x,z)=0. We study its geometry: the number, degree and genus of its irreducible components, the number and type of singularities, etc. and discuss to what extent these results generalize to higher dimension and more complicated symmetries. As an application, we characterize generic one-parameter families of complex univariate polynomials, whose Galois group is a complete symmetric group.

Abstract:In this paper, we explore the relationship between dynamical symmetries, Cartan symmetries, and dynamical similarities in contact mechanics. Using an alternative decomposition of vector fields, we provide a characterization of those symmetries and a new description in terms of tensor densities. Additionally, we show that, in certain cases, this construction enables the recovery of integrals of motion.

Abstract:The paper develops elementary linear algebra methods to compute the determinants of the tensor symmetrizations of quadratic and hermitian forms over fields of good characteristic. Explicit results are given for the partitions $(n)$, $(1^n)$, $(2,1^{n-2})$ and $(3,1^{n-3})$ as well as for all partitions of $n\leq 7$. For orthogonal groups these symmetrizations are not irreducible and we continue to find the determinants of their irreducible constituents, the refined symmetrizations, over fields of characteristic 0.

Abstract:For families of Hamiltonians defined by parts that are local, the most general definition of a symmetry algebra is the commutant algebra, i.e., the algebra of operators that commute with each local part. Thinking about symmetry algebras as commutant algebras allows for the treatment of conventional symmetries and unconventional symmetries (e.g., those responsible for weak ergodicity breaking phenomena) on equal algebraic footing. In this work, we discuss two methods for numerically constructing this commutant algebra starting from a family of Hamiltonians. First, we use the equivalence of this problem to that of simultaneous block-diagonalization of a given set of local operators, and discuss a probabilistic method that has been found to work with probability 1 for both Abelian and non-Abelian symmetries or commutant algebras. Second, we map this problem onto the problem of determining frustration-free ground states of certain Hamiltonians, and we use ideas from tensor network algorithms to efficiently solve this problem in one dimension. These numerical methods are useful in detecting standard and non-standard conserved quantities in families of Hamiltonians, which includes examples of regular symmetries, Hilbert space fragmentation, and quantum many-body scars, and we show many such examples. In addition, they are necessary for verifying several conjectures on the structure of the commutant algebras in these cases, which we have put forward in earlier works. Finally, we also discuss similar methods for the inverse problem of determining local operators with a given symmetry or commutant algebra, which connects to existing methods in the literature. A special case of this construction reduces to well-known ``Eigenstate to Hamiltonian" methods for constructing Hermitian local operators that have a given state as an eigenstate.

Abstract:To study discrete dynamical systems of different types --- deterministic, statistical and quantum --- we develop various approaches. We introduce the concept of a system of discrete relations on an abstract simplicial complex and develop algorithms for analysis of compatibility and construction of canonical decompositions of such systems. To illustrate these techniques we describe their application to some cellular automata. Much attention is paid to study symmetries of the systems. In the case of deterministic systems, we reveale some important relations between symmetries and dynamics. We demonstrate that moving soliton-like structures arise inevitably in deterministic dynamical system whose symmetry group splits the set of states into a finite number of group orbits. We develop algorithms and programs exploiting discrete symmetries to study microcanonical ensembles and search phase transitions in mesoscopic lattice models. We propose an approach to quantization of discrete systems based on introduction of gauge connection with values in unitary representations of finite groups --- the elements of the connection are interpreted as amplitudes of quantum transitions. We discuss properties of a quantum description of finite systems. In particular, we demonstrate that a finite quantum system can be embedded into a larger classical system. Computer algebra and computational group theory methods were useful tools in our study.
Symmetric Hyperbolic Polynomials

Abstract:Hyperbolic polynomials have been of recent interest due to applications in a wide variety of fields. We seek to better understand these polynomials in the case when they are symmetric, i.e. invariant under all permutations of variables. We give a complete characterization of the set of symmetric hyperbolic polynomials of degree 3, and a large class of symmetric hyperbolic polynomials of degree 4. For a class of polynomials, which we call hook-shaped, we relate symmetric hyperbolic polynomials to a class of linear maps of univariate polynomials preserving hyperbolicity, and give evidence toward a beautiful characterization of all such hook-shaped symmetric hyperbolic polynomials. We show that hyperbolicity cones of a class of symmetric hyperbolic polynomials, including all symmetric hyperbolic cubics, are spectrahedral. Finally, we connect testing hyperbolicity of a symmetric polynomial to the degree principle for symmetric nonnegative polynomials.

Symmetry structure of integrable hyperbolic third order equations

Abstract:We explore the application of generating symmetries, i.e. symmetries that depend on a parameter, to integrable hyperbolic third order equations, and in particular to consistent pairs of such equations as introduced by Adler and Shabat (AS). Our main result is that different infinite hierarchies of symmetries for these equations can arise from a single generating symmetry by expansion about different values of the parameter. We illustrate this, and study in depth the symmetry structure, for two examples. The first is an equation related to the potential KdV equation taken from AS. The second is a more general hyperbolic equation than the kind considered in AS. Both equations depend on a parameter, and when this parameter vanishes they become part of a consistent pair. When this happens, the nature of the expansions of the generating symmetries needed to derive the hierarchies also changes.

Dunkl symplectic algebra in generalized Calogero models

Abstract:We study the properties of the symplectic sp(2N) algebra deformed by means of the Dunkl operators, which describe the dynamical symmetry of the generalized N-particle Calogero model. It contains a symmetry subalgebra formed by the deformed unitary generators as well as the (nondeformed) sl(2,R) conformal subalgebra. An explicit relation among the deformed symplectic generators is derived. Based on matching between the Casimir elements of the conformal spin and Dunkl angular momentum algebras, the wavefunctions of the both the standard and generalized Calogero models, being expressed in terms of the deformed spherical harmonics, are classified according to infinite-dimensional lowest-state sl(2,R) multiplets. Meanwhile, any polynomial integral of motion of the (generalized) Calogero-Moser model generates a finite-dimensional highest-state conformal multiplet with descendants expressed via the Weyl-ordered product in quantum field theory.

Abstract:The main purpose of this article is to construct a new class of multivariate Legendre-Hermite-Apostol type Frobenius-Euler polynomials. A number of significant analytical characterizations of these polynomials using various generating function techniques are provided in a methodical manner. These enactments involve explicit relations comprising Hurwitz-Lerch zeta functions and λ-Stirling numbers of the second kind, recurrence relations, and summation formulae. The symmetry identities for these polynomials are established by connecting generalized integer power sums, double power sums and Hurwitz-Lerch zeta functions. In the end, these polynomials are also characterized Svia an algebraic matrix based approach.

Mathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems

Abstract:This study introduces a new approach to the development of generalized 1-parameter, 2-variable Hermite–Frobenius–Euler polynomials, which are characterized by their generating functions, series definitions and summation formulae. Additionally, the research utilizes a factorization method to establish recurrence relations, shift operators and various differential equations, including differential, integro-differential and partial differential equations. The framework elucidates the fundamental properties of these polynomials by utilizing generating functions, series definitions and summation formulae. The results of the study contribute to the understanding of the properties of these polynomials and their potential applications.

Several simple and useful characterizations of these notions within the setting of linear dynamics were obtained recently. We explore these three dynamical properties for composition operators $C_{\phi}f = f \circ \phi$ induced by affine self-maps $\phi$ of the right half-plane $\mathbb{C}_{+}$ on the Hardy-Hilbert space $H^{2}(\mathbb{C_{+}})$.

Explicit Hamiltonian representations of meromorphic connections and duality from different perspectives: a case study

Abstract:In this article, we propose the explicit studies of $\hbar$-deformed meromorphic connections in $\mathfrak{gl}_3(\mathbb{C})$ with an unramified irregular pole at infinity of order $r_\infty=3$ and its spectral dual corresponding to the $\mathfrak{gl}_2(\mathbb{C})$ Painlevé $4$ Lax pair with one vanishing monodromy at the finite pole. Using the apparent singularities and their dual partners on the spectral curves as Darboux coordinates, we obtain the Hamiltonian evolutions, their reductions to only one non-trivial direction, the Jimbo-Miwa-Ueno tau-functions, the fundamental symplectic two-forms and some associated Hermitian matrix models on both sides. We then prove that the spectral duality connecting both sides extends to all these aspects as an explicit illustration of generalized Harnad's duality. We finally propose a conjecture relating the Jimbo-Miwa-Ueno differential as the $\hbar=0$ evaluation of the Hamiltonian differential in these Darboux coordinates that could provide insights on the geometric interpretation of the $\hbar$ formal parameter.

Abstract:Embedded symmetry within the Heisenberg group is used to couple geometric insight and analytic calculation to obtain a new sharp Stein–Weiss inequality with mixed homogeneity on the line of duality. SL(2,R) invariance and Riesz potentials define a natural bridge for encoded information that connects distinct geometric structures. The intrinsic character of the Heisenberg group makes it the natural playing field on which to explore the laws of symmetry and the interplay between analysis and geometry on a manifold.

Abstract:Motivated by the study of hyperkahler structures in moduli problems and hyperkahler implosion, we initiate the study of non-reductive hyperkahler and algebraic symplectic quotients with an eye towards those naturally tied to projective geometry, like cotangent bundles of blow-ups of linear arrangements of projective space. In the absence of a Kempf-Ness theorem for non-reductive quotients, we focus on constructing algebraic symplectic analogues of additive quotients of affine spaces, and obtain hyperkahler structures on large open subsets of these analogues by comparison with reductive analogues. We show that the additive analogue naturally arises as the central fibre in a one-parameter family of isotrivial but non-symplectomorphic varieties coming from the variation of the level set of the moment map. Interesting phenomena only possible in the non-reductive theory, like non-finite generation of rings, already arise in easy examples, but do not substantially complicate the geometry.

Polytope symmetries of Feynman integrals

Abstract:Feynman integrals appropriately generalized are $\mathsf A$-hypergeometric functions. Among the properties of $\mathsf A$-hypergeometric functions are symmetries associated with the Newton polytope. In ordinary hypergeometric functions these symmetries lead to linear transformations. Combining tools of $\mathsf A$-hypergeometric systems and the computation of symmetries of polytopes, we consider the associated symmetries of Feynman integrals in the Lee-Pomeransky representation. We compute the symmetries of $\mathtt n$-gon integrals up to $\mathtt n=8$, massive banana integrals up to 5-loop, and on-shell ladders up to 3-loop. We apply these symmetries to study finite on-shell ladder integrals up to 3-loop.
