Abstract:We study the fluctuations of the focusing $\Phi^4$-measure on the one-dimensional torus, in the infinite volume limit. This measure is the invariant Gibbs measure for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. It had previously been shown by Rider that the measure is strongly concentrated around a family of minimizers of the Hamiltonian associated with the measure, known as the soliton manifold. These exhibit increasingly sharp spatial concentration, resulting in a trivial limit to first order. We study the fluctuations around this soliton manifold. Our results show that the scaled field under the Gibbs measure converges to white noise in the limit, identifying the next order fluctuations predicted by Rider.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is to focus on the fluctuation characteristics of the Φ4 measure in the infinite - volume limit. Specifically, the author studied the Gaussian fluctuation behavior of the focusing Φ4 measure on a one - dimensional ring in the infinite - volume limit \(L \to \infty\). This measure is an invariant Gibbs measure related to the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. ### Main problem description 1. **Background and motivation**: - The focusing Φ4 measure is an important mathematical physics model, which corresponds to the invariant Gibbs measure of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. - Unlike the defocusing case, the Hamiltonian of the focusing Φ4 measure has no lower bound, so the measure cannot be directly normalized to a probability measure. - In a finite volume, Lebowitz, Rose and Speer proposed introducing an \(L^2\) truncation to restore integrability. 2. **Core problems**: - Study the fluctuation characteristics of the focusing Φ4 measure in the infinite - volume limit. - In particular, study the fluctuation behavior around the soliton manifold, that is, the family of minima of the Hamiltonian variational problem. - Prove that these fluctuations converge to white noise after appropriate scaling. ### Specific research content - **Main results**: Theorem 1.1 shows that in the infinite - volume limit, the focusing Φ4 measure exhibits Gaussian fluctuations around the soliton manifold after appropriate scaling, and these fluctuations converge to white noise. \[ \int F(L(\varphi - \pi_L(\varphi))) \rho_L(d\varphi) \to \int F(\varphi) \nu(d\varphi) \] where \(\pi_L\) is the projection mapping onto the soliton manifold \(ML\), and \(\nu\) is the white noise measure. - **Methods and techniques**: - Use an orthogonal coordinate system to study the properties of the Gibbs measure near the soliton manifold. - Introduce the conditional Ornstein - Uhlenbeck measure and the conditional density function to describe the measure. - Represent the scaled Gibbs measure through the conditional density function. - Prove that the scaled covariance converges to the covariance of white noise. - Establish the tightness of the scaled Gibbs measure in the infinite - volume limit. ### Conclusion The paper successfully solved the problem of the fluctuation characteristics of the focusing Φ4 measure in the infinite - volume limit, especially proving that these fluctuations converge to white noise after appropriate scaling. This result not only deepens the understanding of the focusing Φ4 model, but also provides a theoretical basis for studying the fluctuation behaviors of other similar systems.
