Abstract:The formal term-by-term differentiation with respect to parameters is demonstrated to be legitimate for the Mittag-Leffler type functions. The justification of differentiation formulas is made by using the concept of the uniform convergence. This approach is applied to the Mittag-Leffler function depending on two parameters and, additionally, for the $3$-parametric Mittag-Leffler functions (namely, for the Prabhakar function and the Le Roy type functions), as well as for the $4$-parametric Mittag-Leffler function (and, in particular, for the Wright function). The differentiation with respect to the involved parameters is discussed also in case those special functions which are represented via the Mellin-Barnes integrals.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper aims to explore and prove the legality of term - by - term differentiation regarding Mittag - Leffler - type functions and their parameters. Specifically, the paper uses the concept of uniform convergence to justify the formulas for differentiating these functions with respect to the parameters. This method is applicable not only to the two - parameter Mittag - Leffler function, but also extended to the three - parameter and four - parameter Mittag - Leffler functions (such as Prabhakar function and Le Roy - type function), as well as Wright function. In addition, the paper also discusses the differentiation situation involving parameters when these special functions are represented by Mellin - Barnes integral. ### Main contributions 1. **Proof of uniform convergence**: Through the property of uniform convergence, the paper proves that the term - by - term differentiation of Mittag - Leffler - type functions with respect to parameters is legal. Specifically, the Weierstrass M - test theorem is used to prove the uniform convergence of the series composed of term - by - term derivatives. 2. **Mellin - Barnes integral representation**: The paper also uses the Mellin - Barnes integral representation method to derive the differential formulas of Mittag - Leffler - type functions with respect to parameters. These formulas contain not only the ratio of Gamma functions, but also the derivatives of Gamma functions. 3. **Differentiation of multi - parameter functions**: The paper further explores the differentiation of three - parameter and four - parameter Mittag - Leffler functions with respect to parameters and provides corresponding formulas. 4. **Application prospects**: The paper points out that these differential results are of great significance in understanding the behavior of special functions and their applications in the description of physical phenomena. For example, Mittag - Leffler and Wright functions are used to generalize coherent states in quantum physics. ### Specific formulas - **Two - parameter Mittag - Leffler function**: \[ E_{\alpha,\beta}(z)=\sum_{k = 0}^{\infty}\frac{z^{k}}{\Gamma(\alpha k+\beta)} \] Differentiation with respect to parameter \(\alpha\): \[ \frac{\partial E_{\alpha,\beta}(z)}{\partial\alpha}=-\sum_{k = 1}^{\infty}\frac{k\psi(\alpha k+\beta)z^{k}}{\Gamma(\alpha k+\beta)} \] Differentiation with respect to parameter \(\beta\): \[ \frac{\partial E_{\alpha,\beta}(z)}{\partial\beta}=-\sum_{k = 0}^{\infty}\frac{\psi(\alpha k+\beta)z^{k}}{\Gamma(\alpha k+\beta)} \] - **Three - parameter Mittag - Leffler function (Prabhakar function)**: \[ E_{\gamma}^{\alpha,\beta}(z)=\sum_{k = 0}^{\infty}\frac{(\gamma)_{k}z^{k}}{k!\Gamma(\alpha k+\beta)} \] Differentiation with respect to parameter \(\alpha\): \[ \frac{\partial E_{\gamma}^{\alpha,\beta}(z)}{\partial\alpha}=-\sum_{k = 1}^{\infty}\frac{k\psi(\alpha k+\beta)(\gamma)_{k}z^{k}}{k!\Gamma(\alpha k+\beta)} \] Differentiation with respect to parameter \(\beta\): \[ \frac{\partial E_{\gamma}^{\alpha,\beta}(z)}{\partial\beta}=-\sum_{k = 0}^{\infty}\frac{\psi(\alpha k+\beta)(\gamma)_{k}z^{k}}{k!\Gamma(\alpha k+\beta)} \]
