Abstract:A variable separation approach is used to obtain localized coherent structures in a generalized (2+1)-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger system. Applying a special Bäcklund transformation and introducing arbitrary functions of the seed solutions, the abundance of the localized structures of this system are derived. By selecting the arbitrary functions appropriately, some special types of localized exitations such as dromions, dromion lattice, peakons, breathers and instantons are constructed.

Abstract:We consider the long time dynamics for the self-dual Chern-Simons-Schrödinger equation (CSS) within equivariant symmetry. (CSS) is a self-dual $L^{2}$-critical equation having pseudoconformal invariance and solitons. In this paper, we show that any $m$-equivariant, $m\geq1$, $H^{3}$ finite-time blow-up solution to (CSS) is a pseudoconformal blow-up solution. More precisely, such a solution decomposes into the sum of one modulated soliton that contracts at the pseudoconformal rate $\lambda(t)\sim T-t$, and a radiation. Applying the pseudoconformal transform in reverse, we also obtain a refined soliton resolution theorem for $m$-equivariant, $m\geq1$, $H^{3,3}$ solutions: any such solutions blow up in the pseudoconformal regime, scatter (to $0$), or scatter to a modulated soliton with some fixed scale and phase. To our knowledge, this is the first result on the full classification of the dynamics of arbitrary smooth and spatially decaying solutions, including the dynamics of scale and phase, in the class of nonlinear Schrödinger equations which are not known to be completely integrable. Our analysis not only builds upon the previous works, especially the soliton resolution theorem by the author, Kwon, and Oh, but also refines all steps of the arguments typically employed in the forward construction of blow-up dynamics. The key feature of the proof is that we can identify the singular and regular parts of any $H^{3}$ finite-time blow-up solutions, such that the evolution of the singular part is governed by a universal modulation dynamics while the regular part is kept $H^{3}$-bounded even up to the blow-up time. As a byproduct, we also observe that the asymptotic profile has a universal singular structure.

Abstract:We consider the self-dual Chern-Simons-Schrödinger equation (CSS) under equivariant symmetry, which is a $L^{2}$-critical equation. It is known that (CSS) admits solitons and finite-time blow-up solutions. In this paper, we show soliton resolution for any solutions with equivariant data in the weighted Sobolev space $H^{1,1}$: every maximal solution decomposes into at most one modulated soliton and a radiation. A striking fact is that the nonscattering part must be a single modulated soliton. To our knowledge, this is the first result on soliton resolution in a class of nonlinear Schrödinger equations which are not known to be completely integrable. The key ingredient is the defocusing nature of the equation in the exterior of a soliton profile. This is a consequence of two distinctive features of (CSS): self-duality and non-local nonlinearity.

Rigidity of eigenvalues of shrinking Ricci solitons

Abstract:In this paper, we study the rigidity of eigenvalues of shring Ricci solitons. It is known that the drifted Laplacian on shrinking Ricci solitons has discrete spectrum, its eigenvalues have a lower bound and a rigidity result holds. Firstly, we show that if the $n^\text{th}$ eigenvalue is close to this lower bound, then the $n$-soliton must be the trivial Gaussian soliton $\mathbb{R}^n$. Secondly, we show similar results for the $(n-1)^\text{th}$ and $(n-2)^\text{th}$ eigenvalue under a non-collapsing condition. Lastly, we give an alomost rigidity for the $k^\text{th}$ eigenvalue with general $k$. Part of our results could be viewed as an soliton (could be noncompact) analog of Theorem 1.1 (which only holds for compact manifolds) in Peterson (Invent. Math. 138 (1999): 1-21).

Abstract:We examine a non-axisymmetric perturbation of a family of axisymmetric toric Einstein manifolds and Ricci solitons studied in Firester-Tsiamis (2024). We establish a rigidity result stating that these axisymmetric Ricci solitons do not admit constant-angle non-axisymmetric perturbations except for conformally flat cases. For these new cases, our result leads to an explicit description of the Einstein metrics and a classification of the Ricci solitons under a volume-collapsing ansatz.

Soliton resolution for Calogero--Moser derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation

Abstract:We consider soliton resolution for the Calogero--Moser derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation (CM-DNLS). A rigorous PDE analysis of (CM-DNLS) was recently initiated by Gérard and Lenzmann, who demonstrated its Lax pair structure. Additionally, (CM-DNLS) exhibits several symmetries, such as mass-criticality with pseudo-conformal symmetry and a self-dual Hamiltonian. Despite its integrability, finite-time blow-up solutions have been constructed. The purpose of this paper is to establish soliton resolution for both finite-time blow-up solutions and global solutions in a fully general setting, \emph{without imposing radial symmetry or size constraints}. To our knowledge, this is the first non-integrable proof of full soliton resolution for Schrödinger-type equations. A key aspect of our proof is the control of the energy of the outer radiation after extracting a soliton, referred to as the \emph{energy bubbling} estimate. This benefits from two levels of convervation laws, mass and energy, and self-duality. This approach allows us to directly prove continuous-in-time soliton resolution, bypassing time-sequential soliton resolution. Importantly, our proof does not rely on the integrability of the equation, potentially offering insights applicable to other non-integrable models.

Soliton resolution for nonlinear Schrödinger type equations in the radial case

Abstract:We consider the Schrödinger equation with a general interaction term, which is localized in space, for radially symmetric initial data in $n$ dimensions, $n\geq5$. The interaction term may be space-time dependent and nonlinear. Assuming that the solution is bounded in $H^1(\mathbb{R}^n)$ uniformly in time, we prove soliton resolution conjecture (Asymptotic completeness) by demonstrating that the solution resolves into a smooth and localized part and a free radiation in $\mathcal{L}^2_x(\mathbb{R}^n)$ norm. Examples of such equations include inter-critical and super-critical nonlinear Schrödinger equations, saturated nonlinearities, time-dependent potentials, and combinations of these terms.

Blow-up dynamics for radial self-dual Chern-Simons-Schrödinger equation with prescribed asymptotic profile

Abstract:We construct finite energy blow-up solutions for the radial self-dual Chern-Simons-Schrödinger equation with a continuum of blow-up rates. Our result stands in stark contrast to the rigidity of blow-up of $H^{3}$ solutions proved by the first author for equivariant index $m \geq 1$, where the soliton-radiation interaction is too weak to admit the present blow-up scenarios. It is optimal (up to an endpoint) in terms of the range of blow-up rates and the regularity of the asymptotic profiles in view of the authors' previous proof of $H^{1}$ soliton resolution for the self-dual Chern-Simons-Schrödinger equation in any equivariance class. Our approach is a backward construction combined with modulation analysis, starting from prescribed asymptotic profiles and deriving the corresponding blow-up rates from their strong interaction with the soliton. In particular, our work may be seen as an adaptation of the method of Jendrej-Lawrie-Rodriguez (developed for energy critical equivariant wave maps) to the Schrödinger case.

Abstract:The $N$-soliton solution is presented for a two-component modified nonlinear Schrödinger equation which describes the propagation of short pulses in birefringent optical fibers. The solution is found to be expressed in terms of determinants. The proof of the solution is carried out by means of an elementary theory of determinants. The generalization of the 2-component system to the multi-component system is discussed as well as a (2+1)-dimensional nonlocal equation arising from its continuum limit.

Abstract:We show that the single quasi-particle Schrödinger equation for a certain form of one-body potential yields a stationary one soliton solution. The one-body potential is assumed to arise from the self- interacting charge distribution with the singular kernel of the Calogero-Sutherland model. The quasi-particle has negative or positive charge for negative or positive coupling constant of the interaction. The magnitude of the charge is unity only for the semion. It is also pointed out that for repulsive coupling, our equation is mathematically the same as the steady-state Smoluchowski equation of Dyson's Coulomb gas model.

Abstract:Static soliton bound states in nonlinear systems are investigated analytically and numerically in the framework of the parametrically driven, damped nonlinear Schrödinger equation. We find that the ordinary differential equations, which determine bound soliton solutions, can be transformed into the form resembling the Schrödinger-like equations for eigenfunctions with the fixed eigenvalues. We assume that a nonlinear part of the equations is close to the reflectionless potential well occurring in the scattering problem, associated with the integrable equations. We show that symmetric two-hump soliton solution is quite well described analytically by the three-soliton formula with the fixed soliton parameters, depending on the strength of parametric pumping and the dissipation constant.

Abstract:We prove the orbital stability of soliton solutions for 2D Maxwell--Lorentz system with extended charged particle. The solitons corresponds to the uniform motion and rotation of the particle. We reduce the corresponding Hamilton system by the canonical transformation via transition to a comoving frame. The solitons are the critical points of the reduced Hamiltonian. The key point of the proof is a lower bound for the Hamiltonian.

Abstract:In this work, the (2+1)-dimensional chiral nonlinear Schrödinger equation that describes about quantum field concept in physics and other physical sciences are studied and solved by utilizing the two modern techniques including the polynomial expansion method and the Sardar sub-equation method. We attained different types of soliton solutions that had been applications in different fields of mathematical sciences. The behaviours of attained solutions are periodic, singular and v-shaped soliton solutions. Furthermore, we have investigated the stability of the obtained results. Also, the 3D, 2D, and contour graphics are displayed for the better understanding of the dynamical behaviour of various waves structures extensively. The techniques applied in this article are not used in this model in literature so we say that our findings are new that summarize the novelty of work. The utilize model has applications in physics related phenomenon also obtained results highly valuable in various branches of sciences specially in the transmission of fiber optical.

Abstract:The Alfvén waves are fundamental wave phenomena in magnetized plasmas andthe dynamics of Alfvén waves are governed by a system of nonlinear partialdifferential equations called the MHD system. In this paper, we study therigidity aspect of the scattering problem for the MHD equations: We prove thatthe Alfvén waves must vanish if their scattering fields vanish at infinities.The proof is based on a careful study of the null structure and a family ofweighted energy estimates.
