Abstract:By studying a fully nonlinear flow deforming conformal metrics on compact and connected manifold, we prove that for $\lambda < 1$, any metric g with its modified Schouten tensor $A^\lambda_{g}\in \Gamma_k^-$ always can be deformed in a natural way to a conformal metric with constant $\sigma_k$-scalar curvature at exponential rate.

Abstract:Let $\Lambda$ be a subfamily of the moduli space of degree $D\ge2$ polynomials defined by a finite number of parabolic relations. Let $\Omega$ be a bounded stable component of $\Lambda$ with the property that all critical points are attracted by either the persistent parabolic cycles or by attracting cycles in $\mathbb C$. We construct a positive semi-definite pressure form on $\Omega$ and show that it defines a path metric on $\Omega$. This provides a counterpart in complex dynamics of the pressure metric on cusped Hitchin components recently studied by Kao and Bray-Canary-Kao-Martone.

Abstract:In this paper we describe some recent results on the geometry of the moduli space of Riemann surfaces. We surveyed new and classical metrics on the moduli spaces of hyperbolic Riemann surfaces and their geometric properties. We then discussed the Mumford goodness and generalized goodness of various metrics on the moduli spaces and their deformation invariance. By combining with the dual Nakano negativity of the Weil-Petersson metric we derive various consequences such that the infinitesimal rigidity, the Gauss-Bonnet theorem and the log Chern number computations.

Abstract:In this note, we consider two Riemannian metrics on a moduli space of metric graphs. Each of them could be thought of as an analogue of the Weil–Petersson metric on the moduli space of metric graphs. We discuss and compare geometric features of these two metrics with the “classic” Weil–Petersson metric in Teichmüller theory. This paper is motivated by Pollicott and Sharp’s work (Pollicott and Sharp in Geom Dedic 172(1):229–244, 2014). Moreover, we fix some errors in Pollicott and Sharp (2014).

Abstract:This paper is an interval dynamics counterpart of three theories founded earlier by the authors, S. Smirnov and others in the setting of the iteration of rational maps on the Riemann sphere: the equivalence of several notions of non-uniform hyperbolicity, Geometric Pressure, and Nice Inducing Schemes methods leading to results in thermodynamical formalism. We work in a setting of generalized multimodal maps, that is smooth maps f of a finite union of compact intervals in R into R with non-flat critical points, such that on its maximal forward invariant set K the map f is topologically transitive and has positive topological entropy. We prove that several notions of non-uniform hyperbolicity of f|_K are equivalent (including uniform hyperbolicity on periodic orbits, TCE & all periodic orbits in K hyperbolic repelling, Lyapunov hyperbolicity, and exponential shrinking of pull-backs). We prove that several definitions of geometric pressure P(t), that is pressure for the map f|_K and the potential - t log |f'|, give the same value (including pressure on periodic orbits, "tree" pressure, variational pressures and conformal pressure). Finally we prove that, provided all periodic orbits in K are hyperbolic repelling, the function P(t) is real analytic for t between the "condensation" and "freezing" parameters and that for each such t there exists unique equilibrium (and conformal) measure satisfying strong statistical properties.

Abstract:We study the metrical and topological pressure for flows without fixed points on a compact metric space, and get the results as follows: (1) The metrical pressure with respect to an ergodic measure can be defined by (t, epsilon)-spanning sets. (2) The topological pressure is the supremum of metrical pressures with respect to all ergodic measures. (3) The properties that the topological pressure is zero, nonzero, finite or infinite respectively are invariant under weak equivalence.

Abstract:Let (X, d, T) be a dynamical system, where (X, d) is a compact metric space and T: X → X is a continuous map. We assume that the dynamical system satisfies g-almost product property and the uniform separation property. We compute the topological pressure of saturated sets under these two conditions. If the uniform separation property does not hold, we compute the topological pressure of the set of generic points. We give an application of these results to multifractal analysis and finally get a conditional variational principle.

Abstract:In this paper, we derive a general pressure gap criterion for closed rank 1 manifolds whose singular sets are given by codimension 1 totally geodesic flat subtori. As an application, we show that under certain curvature constraints, potentials that decay faster than geometric potentials (towards to the singular set) have pressure gaps and have no phase transitions. Along the way, we prove that geometric potentials are Hölder continuous near singular sets.

Abstract:We investigate the relationship between various topological pressures and the corresponding measure-theoretic pressures for nonautonomous dynamical systems based on the Carathéodory-Pesin structure. We prove a pressure distribution principle for Pesin topological pressure and a Billingsley type theorem for packing topological pressure. We then obtain a variational principle for packing topological pressure, which reveals a variational relation between the packing pressure and measure-theoretic upper local pressure. We further examine the applicability of our findings to a typical nonautonomous dynamical system, wherein the sequence of continuous selfmaps preserves the same Borel probability measures. In addition, we derive an upper bound for the packing topological pressure on the set of generic points.

Abstract:Using the thermodynamics formalism, we introduce a notion of intersection for projective Anosov representations, show analyticity results for the intersection and the entropy, and rigidity results for the intersection. We use the renormalized intersection to produce a $Out(\Gamma)$-invariant Riemannian metric on the smooth points of the deformation space of irreducible, projective Anosov representations of a word hyperbolic group $\Gamma$ into $SL(m,R)$ whose Zariski closure contains a generic element. In particular, we produce mapping class group invariant Riemannian metrics on Hitchin components which restrict to the Weil--Petersson metric on the Fuchsian loci. Moreover, we produce $Out(\Gamma)$-invariant metrics on deformation spaces of convex cocompact representations into $PSL(2,C)$ and show that the Hausdorff dimension of the limit set varies analytically over analytic families of convex cocompact representations into any rank 1 semi-simple Lie group.

Abstract:Based on the Carathéodory–Pesin structure theory [13], we introduce three notions of topological pressure of a proper map and provide some properties of these notions. For the proper map of a locally compact separable metric space, we prove some variational principles and give some applications on the multifractal analysis of local entropies. Abstract:In this paper, we define a new version of topological pressure, called average topological pressure , for dynamical systems. We present some of its properties and prove an Abramov-Rokhlin-like relation using the new defined quantity. It connects the topological pressure of the skew product of a random dynamical system to the topological entropy of the noise map and the average topological pressure. The topological pressure of random dynamical systems is connected to the average topological pressure via a variational principle.

Abstract:Schmeling introduced the concept of time weighted entropy in 2000 as a generalization of Pesin’s topological entropy. Since the potential function $$\phi $$ in topological pressure plays an important role in multifractal analysis and smooth ergodic theory, by analogy, we propose time weighted pressures. It is proved that time weighted pressures are generally different on non-invariant sets, and their properties concerning on the time complexity (with respect to the potential function $$\phi $$) of systems are explored. Further, it is shown that for a $$C^{1+\alpha }$$-diffeomorphism with a finite Markov partition, the corresponding coding map preserves time weighted pressures.

Abstract:Feng and Huang [Variational principle for weighted topological pressure. J. Math. Pures Appl. (9)106 (2016), 411–452] introduced weighted topological entropy and pressure for factor maps between dynamical systems and established its variational principle. Tsukamoto [New approach to weighted topological entropy and pressure. Ergod. Th. & Dynam. Sys.43 (2023), 1004–1034] redefined those invariants quite differently for the simplest case and showed via the variational principle that the two definitions coincide. We generalize Tsukamoto's approach, redefine the weighted topological entropy and pressure for higher dimensions, and prove the variational principle. Our result allows for an elementary calculation of the Hausdorff dimension of affine-invariant sets such as self-affine sponges and certain sofic sets that reside in Euclidean space of arbitrary dimension.
