Abstract:A Transposition graph $T_n$ is defined as a Cayley graph over the symmetric group $Sym_n$ generated by all transpositions. This paper shows how the spectrum of $T_n$ can be obtained using the spectral properties of the Jucys-Murphy elements.

Abstract:Transposition graph $T_n$ is defined as a Cayley graph over the symmetric group generated by all transpositions. It is known that all eigenvalues of $T_n$ are integers. Moreover, zero is its eigenvalue for any $n\geqslant 4$. But the exact distribution of the spectrum of the graph $T_n$ is unknown. In this paper we prove that integers from the interval $[-\frac{n-4}{2}, \frac{n-4}{2}]$ lie in the spectrum of $T_n$ if $n \geqslant 19$.

Abstract:A Transposition graph $T_n$ is defined as a Cayley graph over the symmetric group $Sym_n$ generated by all transpositions. It is known that the spectrum of $T_n$ consists of integers, but it is not known exactly how these numbers are distributed. In this paper we prove that integers from the segment $[-n, n]$ lie in the spectrum of $T_n$ for any $n\geqslant 31$. Using this fact we also prove the main result of this paper that a segment of quadratic length with respect to $n$ lies in the spectrum of $T_n$.

Abstract:In this paper we study the Cayley graph $\mathrm{Cay}(S_n,T)$ of the symmetric group $S_n$ generated by a set of transpositions $T$. We show that for $n\geq 5$ the Cayley graph is normal. As a corollary, we show that its automorphism group is a direct product of $S_n$ and the automorphism group of the transposition graph associated to $T$. Abstract:It is well-known that the stable model structure on symmetric spectra cannot be transferred from the one on sequential spectra through the forgetful functor. We use the fibrant transfer theorem of Guetta--Moser--Sarazola--Verdugo to show it can be transferred between fibrant objects, providing a new, short and conceptual proof of its existence.

Abstract:We study subsets $T$ consisting of some transpositions $(i,j)$ of the symmetric group $S_n$ on $\{1,\dots,n\}$ such that the Cayley graph $\Gamma_T:=Cay(S_n,T)$ is an integral graph, i.e., all eigenvalues of an adjacency matrix of $\Gamma_T$ are integers. Graph properties of $\Gamma_T$ are determined in terms of ones of the graph $G_T$ whose vertex set is $\{1,\dots,n\}$ and $\{i,j\}$ is an edge if and only if $(i,j)\in T$. Here we prove that if $G_T$ is a tree then $\Gamma_T$ is integral if and only if $T$ is isomorphic to the star graph $K_{1,n-1}$, answering Problem 5 of [Electron. J. Comnin., 29(2) (2022) \# P2.9]. Problem 6 of the latter article asks to find necessary and sufficient conditions on $T$ for integralness of $Cay(S_n,T)$ without any further assumption on $T$. We show that if $G_T$ is a graph which we call it a ``generalized complete multipartite graph" then $Cay(S_n,T)$ is integral. We conjecture that $Cay(S_n,T)$ is integral only if $G_T$ is a generalized complete multipartitie graph. To support the latter conjecture we show its validity whenever $G_T$ is some classes of graphs including cycles and cubic graphs.

Abstract:We address a prime counting problem across the homology classes of a graph, presenting a graph-theoretical Dirichlet-type analogue of the prime number theorem. The main machinery we have developed and employed is a spectral antisymmetry theorem, revealing that the spectra of the twisted graph adjacency matrices have an antisymmetric distribution over the character group of the graph. Additionally, we derive some trace formulas based on the twisted adjacency matrices as part of our analysis.

Abstract:We characterize the spectrum of the transition matrix for simple random walk on graphs consisting of a finite graph with a finite number of infinite Cayley trees attached. We show that there is a continuous spectrum identical to that for a Cayley tree and, in general, a non-empty pure point spectrum. We apply our results to studying continuous time quantum walk on these graphs. If the pure point spectrum is nonempty the walk is in general confined with a nonzero probability.

Abstract:Many of the properties of the partial transposition are not clear so far. Here the number of the negative eigenvalues of K(T)(the partial transposition of K) is considered carefully when K is a two-partite state. There are strong evidences to show that the number of negative eigenvalues of K(T) is N(N-1)/2 at most when K is a state in Hilbert space N*N. For the special case, 2*2 system(two qubits), we use this result to give a partial proof of the conjecture sqrt(K(T))(T)>=0. We find that this conjecture is strongly connected with the entanglement of the state corresponding to the negative eigenvalue of K(T) or the negative entropy of K.

Abstract:The transpose top-$2$ with random shuffle (J. Theoret. Probab., 2020) is a lazy random walk on the alternating group $A_n$ generated by $3$-cycles of the form $(\star,n-1,n)$ and $(\star,n,n-1)$. We obtain the limit profile of this random walk by comparing it with the random walk on $A_n$ generated by all $3$-cycles. Our method employs a non-commutative Fourier analysis analogue of the comparison method introduced by Nestoridi (Electron. J. Probab., 2024). We also give the complete spectrum of the alternating group graph, thus answering a question of Huang and Huang (J. Algebraic Combin., 2019).

Transversal cycles and paths in tournaments

Abstract:Thomason [$\textit{Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.}$ 296.1 (1986)] proved that every sufficiently large tournament contains Hamilton paths and cycles with all possible orientations, except possibly the consistently oriented Hamilton cycle. This paper establishes $\textit{transversal}$ generalizations of these classical results. For a collection $\mathbf{T}=\{T_1,\dots,T_m\}$ of not-necessarily distinct tournaments on the common vertex set $V$, an $m$-edge directed subgraph $\mathcal{D}$ with the vertices in $V$ is called a transversal if there exists an bijection $\varphi\colon E(\mathcal{D})\to [m]$ such that $e\in E(T_{\varphi(e)})$ for all $e\in E(\mathcal{D})$. We prove that for sufficiently large $n$, there exist transversal Hamilton cycles of all possible orientations possibly except the consistently oriented one. We also obtain a similar result for the transversal Hamilton paths of all possible orientations. These results generalize the classical theorem of Thomason, and our approach provides another proof of this theorem.

Abstract:Based on the contraction and expansion of graphs, the subspectrality of acyclic molecular graphs is treated in a systematic way. The graphs containing eigenvalues 0, t 1 and ± √2 are discussed in detail, with emphasis on how to detect and construct the concealed species which can neither be recognized by symmetry considerations nor by the Heilbronner procedure. As a consequence, graphs and their counts have been given for species with numbers of vertices less than 16.

Abstract:In a recent paper Gunnells, Scott and Walden have determined the complete spectrum of the Schreier graph on the symmetric group corresponding to the Young subgroup $S_{n-2}\times S_2$ and generated by initial reversals. In particular they find that the first nonzero eigenvalue, or spectral gap, of the Laplacian is always 1, and report that "empirical evidence" suggests that this also holds for the corresponding Cayley graph. We provide a simple proof of this last assertion, based on the decomposition of the Laplacian of Cayley graphs, into a direct sum of irreducible representation matrices of the symmetric group.

Abstract:An $(n,k,t)$-graph is a graph on $n$ vertices in which every set of $k$ vertices contain a clique on $t$ vertices. Turán's Theorem (complemented) states that the unique minimum $(n,k,2)$-graph is a disjoint union of cliques. We prove that minimum $(n,k,t)$-graphs are always disjoint unions of cliques for any $t$ (despite nonuniqueness of extremal examples), thereby generalizing Turán's Theorem and confirming two conjectures of Hoffman et al.

The joint translation spectrum and Manhattan manifolds

Abstract:We define and study geometric versions of the Benoist limit cone and matrix joint spectrum, which we call the translation cone and the joint translation spectrum, respectively. These new notions allow us to generalize the study of embeddings into products of rank-one simple Lie groups and to compare group actions on different metric spaces, quasi-morphisms, Anosov representations and many other natural objects of study. We identify the joint translation spectrum with the image of the gradient function of a corresponding Manhattan manifold: a higher dimensional version of the well known and studied Manhattan curve. As a consequence we deduce many properties of the spectrum. For example we show that it is given by the closure of the set of all possible drift vectors associated to finitely supported, symmetric, admissible random walks on the associated group.

Abstract:In 2010, Nikiforov conjectured that for l≥2 and n sufficiently large, Sn,l−11 is the unique graph with the maximum spectral radius over all n -vertex C2l -free graphs. In 2022, Cioabǎ, Desai and Tait solved this conjecture. The theta graph Θt,l consists of two vertices joined by t vertex-disjoint paths, each of length l . Particularly, Θ2,l≅C2l . In this paper, we characterize the unique extremal graph which attains the maximum spectral radius among all Θt,l -free graphs of order n , where t,l≥3 and n is sufficiently large.

Abstract:In this article we are introducing combinatorial spectra of graphs, this is a generalization of $H$-Hamiltonian spectra. The main motivation was to made from $H$-Hamiltonian spectra an operation and develop some algebra in this field. An improved version of this operation form a commutative monoid. The most important thing is that most of the basic concepts of graph theory, such as maximum pairing, vertex and edge connectivity and coloring, Ramsey numbers, isomorphisms and regularity, can be expressed in the language of this operation.

Abstract:We prove the positivity of the top Lyapunov exponent of the twisted (spectral) cocycle, associated with IETs, with respect to a family of natural invariant measures. The proof relies on relating the top exponent to limits of exponents along families of affine invariant submanifolds of genus tending to infinity. Applications include an observation about a conjecture of Kontsevich and Zorich, a discrepancy estimate, and a formula for the lower local dimension of spectral measures.

Abstract:The \textit{transition matrix} of a graph $\Gamma$ with adjacency matrix $A$ is defined by $H(\tau ) := \exp(-\mathbf{i}\tau A)$, where $\tau \in \mathbb{R}$ and $\mathbf{i} = \sqrt{-1}$. The graph $\Gamma$ exhibits \textit{perfect state transfer} (PST) between the vertices $u$ and $v$ if there exists $\tau_0(>0)\in \mathbb{R}$ such that $\lvert H(\tau_0)_{uv} \rvert = 1$. For a positive integer $n$, the group $V_{8n}$ is defined as $V_{8n} := \langle a,b \colon a^{2n} = b^{4} = 1, ba = a^{-1}b^{-1}, b^{-1}a = a^{-1}b \rangle$. In this paper, we study the existence of perfect state transfer on Cayley graphs $\text{Cay}(V_{8n}, S)$. We present some necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of perfect state transfer on $\text{Cay}(V_{8n}, S)$.
