Abstract:In this work, two originally separate adjustments for the Friedmann equations are concurrently considered. Firstly, the fractal structure of the black hole horizon region is imposed by the Barrow entropy. The second adjustment is the $f(\mathcal{T})$ gravity, which is based on a teleparallel framework generalization of the Einstein-Hilbert action, where $\mathcal{T}$ is the scalar torsion. This can be considered as a Barrow entropy modification of the $f(\mathcal{T})$ gravity thus yielding a new model. Gravity thermodynamics hypothesis principles are used to integrate these two models under a unified framework. We derive the modified Friedmann equation and note the corrections obtained. To understand the implications of such dual modifications, an application is analyzed and a particular $f(\mathcal{T})$ toy model is chosen for the purpose. The equation of the state parameter of the resulting model, the dimensionless density parameters of matter and dark energy, and the deceleration parameter are explored to check the viability of the new model. A discussion of the dynamic evolution of the universe follows from these results. It is seen that the results comply with the observations. The newly developed model is promising and demands further study.

Abstract:In the present article we analyze the matter-geometry coupled $f(Q,T)$ theory of gravity. We offer the fully covariant formulation of the theory, with which we construct the correct energy balance equation and employ it to conduct a dynamical system analysis in a spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker spacetime. We consider three different functional forms of the $f(Q,T)$ function, specifically, $f(Q,T)=\alpha Q+ \beta T$, $f(Q,T)=\alpha Q+ \beta T^2$, and $f(Q,T)=Q+ \alpha Q^2+ \beta T$ . We attempt to investigate the physical capabilities of these models to describe various cosmological epochs. We calculate Friedmann-like equations in each case and introduce some phase space variables to simplify the equations in more concise forms. We observe that the linear model $f(Q,T)=\alpha Q+ \beta T$ with $\beta=0$ is completely equivalent to the GR case without cosmological constant $\Lambda$. Further, we find that the model $f(Q,T)=\alpha Q+ \beta T^2$ with $\beta \neq 0$ successfully depicts the observed transition from decelerated phase to an accelerated phase of the universe. Lastly, we find that the model $f(Q,T)= Q+ \alpha Q^2+ \beta T$ with $\alpha \neq 0$ represents an accelerated de-Sitter epoch for the constraints $\beta < -1$ or $ \beta \geq 0$.

Abstract:We study a class of static spherically symmetric vacuum solutions in modified teleparallel gravity solving the field equations for a specific model Ansatz, requiring the torsion scalar $T$ to be constant. We discuss the models falling in this class. After some general considerations, we provide and investigate local solutions in the form of black holes and traversable wormholes as well as configurations that can match the anomalous rotation curves of galaxies.

Abstract:The evolutionary behavior of the Universe has been analysed through the dynamical system analysis in $f(T,B,T_G,B_G)$ gravity, where $T$, $B$, $T_G$, and $B_G$ respectively represent torsion, boundary term, teleparallel Gauss-Bonnet term and Gauss-Bonnet boundary term. We use the transformation, $f(T,B,T_G,B_G)=-T+\mathcal{F}(T, B, T_G, B_G)$ in order to obtain the deviation from the Teleparallel Equivalent of General Relativity (TEGR). Two cosmological models pertaining to the functional form of $\mathcal{F}(T, B, T_G, B_G)$ have been studied. The well motivated forms are: (i) $\mathcal{F}(T, B, T_G, B_G) = f_{0} T^{m} B^{n}T_{G}^{k}$ and (ii) $\mathcal{F}(T, B, T_G, B_G)=b_{0} B + g_{0} T_{G}^{k} $. The evolutionary phases of the Universe have been identified through the detailed analysis of the critical points. Further, with the eigenvalues and phase space diagrams, the stability and attractor nature of the accelerating solution have been explored. The evolution plots have been analyzed for the corresponding cosmology and compatibility with the present observed value of standard density parameters have been shown.

Abstract:Over recent decades, the role of torsion in gravity has been extensively investigated along the main direction of bringing gravity closer to its gauge formulation and incorporating spin in a geometric description. Here we review various torsional constructions, from teleparallel, to Einstein-Cartan, and metric-affine gauge theories, resulting in extending torsional gravity in the paradigm of f (T) gravity, where f (T) is an arbitrary function of the torsion scalar. Based on this theory, we further review the corresponding cosmological and astrophysical applications. In particular, we study cosmological solutions arising from f (T) gravity, both at the background and perturbation levels, in different eras along the cosmic expansion. The f (T) gravity construction can provide a theoretical interpretation of the late-time universe acceleration, alternative to a cosmological constant, and it can easily accommodate with the regular thermal expanding history including the radiation and cold dark matter dominated phases. Furthermore, if one traces back to very early times, for a certain class of f (T) models, a sufficiently long period of inflation can be achieved and hence can be investigated by cosmic microwave background observations-or, alternatively, the Big Bang singularity can be avoided at even earlier moments due to the appearance of non-singular bounces. Various observational constraints, especially the bounds coming from the large-scale structure data in the case of f (T) cosmology, as well as the behavior of gravitational waves, are described in detail. Moreover, the spherically symmetric and black hole solutions of the theory are reviewed. Additionally, we discuss various extensions of the f (T) paradigm. Finally, we consider the relation with other modified gravitational theories, such as those based on curvature, like f (R) gravity, trying to illuminate the subject of which formulation, or combination of formulations, might be more suitable for quantization ventures and cosmological applications.

Abstract:In recent few years, the Gauss-Bonnet $f(\mathcal{G},\mathrm{\textit{T}})$ theory of gravity has fascinated considerable researchers owing to its coupling of trace of the stress-energy tensor $T$ with the Gauss-Bonnet term $\mathcal{G}$. In this context, we focuss ourselves to study bouncing universe with in $f(\mathcal{G},\mathrm{\textit{T}})$ gravity background. Some important preliminaries are presented along with the discussion of cosmological parameters to develop a minimal background about $f(\mathcal{G},\mathrm{\textit{T}})$ theory of gravity. The exact bouncing solutions with physical analysis are provided with the choice of two equation of state parameters. It is shown that the results do agree with the present values of deceleration, jerk and snap parameters. Moreover, it is concluded that the model parameters are quite important for the validity of conservation equation (as the matter coupled theories do not obey the usual conservation law).

Stellar structure in $f(R,T)$ gravity: some exact solutions

Abstract:We find some exact solutions for constant-density and quark matter equations of state in stellar structure models framed within the $f(R,T)=R+\lambda \kappa^2 T$ theory of gravity, where $R$ is the curvature scalar, $T$ the trace of the stress-energy tensor, and $\lambda$ some constant. These solutions correspond to specific values of the constant $\lambda$, and represent different compactness states of the corresponding stars, though only those made of quark matter can be regarded as physical. The latter modify the compactness (Buchdahl) limit of neutron stars upwards for $\lambda>0$ until saturating the one of black holes. Our results show that it is possible to find useful insights on stellar structure in this class of theories, a fact that could be used for obtaining constraints on limiting masses such as the minimum hydrogen burning mass.

Abstract:We construct a plethora of new Euclidean AdS-Taub-NUT and bolt solutions of several four- and six-dimensional higher-curvature theories of gravity with various base spaces $\mathcal{B}$. In $D=4$, we consider Einsteinian cubic gravity, for which we construct solutions with $\mathcal{B}=\mathbb{S}^2,\mathbb{T}^2$. These represent the first generalizations of the Einstein gravity Taub-NUT/bolt solutions for any higher-curvature theory in four dimensions. In $D=6$, we show that no new solutions are allowed for any Generalized quasi-topological gravity at cubic order. They exist however when we consider quartic Quasi-topological and Generalized quasi-topological terms, for which we construct new solutions with $\mathcal{B}=\mathbb{CP}^2,\mathbb{S}^2\times\mathbb{S}^2,\mathbb{S}^2\times\mathbb{T}^2,\mathbb{T}^2\times\mathbb{T}^2$. In all cases, the solutions are characterized by a single metric function, and they reduce to the corresponding ones in Einstein gravity when the higher-curvature couplings are set to zero. While the explicit profiles must be constructed numerically (except for a few cases), we obtain fully analytic expressions for the thermodynamic properties of all solutions. The new solutions present important differences with respect to Einstein gravity, including regular bolts for arbitrary values of the NUT charge, critical points, and re-entrant phase transitions.

Abstract:The primary objective of this paper is to develop a well-behaved class of Heintzmann IIa [{\em H. Heintzmann, Z. Physik 228, 489-493 (1969)}] solution in the context of $f(R,\, T)$ gravity. In the $f(R, T)$ framework, the gravitational action includes both the Ricci scalar ($R$) and the trace of the energy-momentum tensor ($T$). We chose a particular $f(R,\,T)$ model s.t. $f(R,\,T) = R+2 \chi T$, where $\chi$ is known as the coupling parameter. This solution describes a novel isotropic compact fluid sphere with positively finite central pressure and density in this extended theory of gravity. The results obtained analytically are better described by graphical representations of the physical parameters for various values of the coupling parameter $\chi$. The solution for a specific compact object, Vela X-1, with radius $\mathfrak{R} = 9.56_{-0.08}^{+0.08}$ km and mass $\mathcal{M} = 1.77 \pm 0.08~\mathcal{M}_{\odot}$ [{\em M. L. Rawls et al. ApJ, 730, 25 (2011)}], is shown here. We analyze the fundamental physical attributes of the star, which reveals the influence of the coupling parameter $\chi$ on the values of substance parameters. This helps us to make a fruitful comparison of this modified $f(R,\, T)$ gravity with the standard GR and notice that it holds good for stable compact objects. In this framework, the star under our consideration exhibits a stable structure consistent with the Heintzmann IIa {\em ansatz}. From all of our obtained graphical and numerical results, we can ultimately conclude that our reported model is physically admissible and satisfies all the physical criteria for an acceptable model.

Abstract:In this study, we investigate the dynamics of the Universe during the observed late-time acceleration phase within the framework of the Weyl-type $f(Q,T)$ theory. Specifically, we consider a well-motivated model with the functional form $f(Q,T)=\alpha Q+\frac{\beta }{6\kappa ^2}T$, where $Q$ represents the scalar of non-metricity and $T$ denotes the trace of the energy-momentum tensor. In this context, the non-metricity $Q_{\mu\alpha\beta}$ of the space-time is established by the vector field $w_\mu$. The parameters $\alpha$ and $\beta$ govern the gravitational field and its interaction with the matter content of the Universe. By considering the case of dust matter, we obtain exact solutions for the field equations and observe that the Hubble parameter $H(z)$ follows a power-law behavior with respect to redshift $z$. To constrain the model parameters, we analyze various datasets including the $Hubble$, $Pantheon$ datasets, and their combination. Our results indicate that the Weyl-type $f(Q,T)$ theory offers a viable alternative to explain the observed late-time acceleration of the Universe avoiding the use of dark energy.

Abstract:In this communication, we investigate a space-time model characterized by the FLRW metric with a perfect fluid within the context of the f ( R , T ) theory of gravity. Our approach involves obtaining precise solutions for the field equations by introducing the deceleration parameter (DP) as a function that depends on the Hubble parameter, incorporating both a linear and a non-linear quadratic time-varying component. Our results indicate a phase transition. Furthermore, we conduct a comparative analysis, examining both the physical and geometric aspects of the proposed model, and provide visual representations of critical parameters. Additionally, we perform an analysis of the singularity condition, energy conditions, and the Om diagnostic to better understand the results.

Thermodynamics of Taub-NUT-AdS Spactimes

Abstract:We apply the generalised Komar method proposed in [<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2208.05494" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2208.05494">arXiv:2208.05494</a>] to Taub-NUT-AdS spacetime in the theory of Einstein gravity plus a cosmological constant. Based on a generalised closed 2-form, we derive the total mass and NUT charge of the Taub-NUT-AdS spacetime. Together with other thermodynamic quantities calculated through standard method, we conform the first law and Smarr relation. Then, we consider charged AdS NUTy spacetimes in Einstein-Maxwell theory with a cosmological constant, and show that the generalised Komar method works, too. We obtain all the thermodynamic quantities, and the first law and Smarr relation are checked to be satisfied automatically.

Abstract:The study addresses matter-coupled modified gravity, particularly $f (T, \mathcal{T})$ gravity, unveiling distinct formalism. The research further discusses stability analysis, and the dynamical system approach, exploring the dynamics of critical points to understand these models' viability better. The dynamical system analysis of the cosmological models in $f(T, \mathcal{T})$ gravity, where $T$ and $\mathcal{T}$ respectively represent the torsion scalar and trace of the energy-momentum tensor has been investigated. It demonstrates how first-order autonomous systems can be treated as cosmological equations and analyzed using standard dynamical system theory techniques. Two forms of the function $f(T,\mathcal{T})$ are considered (i) one with the product of trace and higher order torsion scalar and the other (ii) linear combination of linear trace and squared torsion. By employing this methodology, the research aims to uncover the actual behavior of the Universe. The findings emphasize the graphical representation of these insights, enriching our understanding of cosmological scenarios.

Abstract:In this paper the major work is done on the optimal solution of f ( R , T ) gravity 00-component field equation. Explicit derivation of 00 and 11-components has been done. Optimal existence of solution of 00-component has been formulated using fixed point theory. The equivalence of 00-component of f ( R , T ) gravity field equation with wave equation having the source term has been explicitly proved. Also the computational more general solutions of 00-component of f ( R , T ) gravity field equation is explained in the various surface plot. Also the contour as well as 2 D -pairs ( f , R ) and ( f , T ) have been examined and analyzed.
