Abstract:The explicit computation of higher-point conformal blocks in any dimension is usually a challenging task. For two-dimensional conformal field theories in Euclidean signature, the oscillator formalism proves to be very efficient. We demonstrate this by reproducing the general n-point global conformal block in the comb channel in an elegant and direct manner. Exploiting similarities to the representation theory of two-dimensional CFTs, we extend the oscillator formalism for the computation of higher-point conformal blocks in four Euclidean dimensions. As a proof of concept, we explicitly compute the scalar four-point block with scalar exchange within this framework.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is that explicitly calculating higher - point conformal blocks in arbitrary dimensions is usually a challenging task. For conformal field theories (CFTs) with two - dimensional Euclidean signature, the oscillator formalism has been proven to be very effective. By using the oscillator formalism to reproduce the n - point global conformal blocks in the comb channel, the author demonstrates the effectiveness and directness of this method. Moreover, by exploiting the similarity with the representation theory of two - dimensional CFTs, the author extends the oscillator formalism to the calculation of higher - point conformal blocks in four - dimensional Euclidean space and, as a proof of concept, explicitly calculates the scalar exchange within the scalar four - point block. Specifically, the main objectives of the paper include: 1. **Generalize the oscillator formalism**: Extend from two dimensions to four dimensions for calculating higher - point conformal blocks. 2. **Provide an intuitive graphical explanation**: Demonstrate the calculation process of the oscillator wave function through a graphical language. 3. **Calculate specific conformal blocks**: Calculate the n - point comb - channel conformal blocks in two dimensions and the scalar four - point block in four dimensions respectively. The achievement of these objectives not only helps to understand the structure of higher - point conformal blocks but also provides new tools and methods for future research.
