Abstract:Color Lie algebras, which were introduced by Ree, are a graded extension of Lie (super)algebras by an abelian group. We show that the color Lie algebras can be used to construct universal weight systems for knot invariants of of Vassiliev and Kontsevich. As a simple example, we take $\mathbb{Z}_2 \times \mathbb{Z}_2$ as the grading group and consider the four-dimensional color Lie algebra called $A1_{\epsilon}$. The weight system constructed from $A1_{\epsilon}$ is studied in some detail and some relations between the weights, such as the recurrence relation for chord diagrams, are derived. These relations show that the weight system from $A1_{\epsilon}$ is a hybrid of those from $sl(2)$ and $gl(1|1)$.

Abstract:We generalize the famous weight basis constructions of the finite-dimensional irreducible representations of $\mathfrak{sl}(n,\mathbb{C})$ obtained by Gelfand and Tsetlin in 1950. Using combinatorial methods, we construct one such basis for each finite-dimensional representation of $\mathfrak{sl}(n,\mathbb{C})$ associated to a given skew Schur function. Our constructions use diamond-colored distributive lattices of skew-shaped semistandard tableaux that generalize some classical Gelfand--Tsetlin (GT) lattices. Our constructions take place within the context of a certain programmatic study of poset models for semisimple Lie algebra representations and Weyl group symmetric functions undertaken by the first-named author and others. Some key aspects of the methodology of that program are recapitulated here. Combinatorial and representation-theoretic applications of our constructions are pursued here and elsewhere.

Abstract:We introduce a universal weight system (a function on chord diagrams satisfying the $4$-term relation) taking values in the ring of polynomials in infinitely many variables whose particular specializations are weight systems associated with the Lie algebras $\mathfrak{so}(N)$, $\mathfrak{sp}(2M)$, as well as Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{osp}(N|2M)$. We extend this weight system to permutations and provide an efficient recursion for its computation. The construction for this weight system extends a similar construction for the universal polynomial weight system responsible for the Lie algebras $\mathfrak{gl}(N)$ and superalgebras $\mathfrak{gl}(N|M)$ introduced earlier by the second named author.

Abstract:Weight enumerators are important tools for deciphering the algebraic structure of the related code spaces and for understanding group actions on these spaces. Our study focuses on symmetrized weight enumerators of pairs of Type II codes over the finite field $\mathbb{F}_{2}$ and the ring $\mathbb{Z}_{4}$. These pairs have been examined as invariants for a specified group. In particular, we concentrate on the scenarios where the space of the invariant ring is of degree 8 and 16. Our findings show that in certain situations, the ring produced by the symmetrized weight enumerators precisely matches with the invariant ring of the designated group. This coincidence points to a profound relationship between the invariant ring's structure and the algebraic characteristics of the weight enumerators.

Abstract:In this paper we suggest a new prescription for the Hamiltonian reduction of the SL(3, R) WZNW model by generalizing the famous BFOFW theory. As a result, a conformal system with conformal weights in 1/3 sequence is induced. We call the system the extended W-3(2) Toda model because its conformal invariance is described with a nonlinear W-3(2)-algebra. Relying on the analyses in this paper, it seems that the Hamiltonian reduction procedure itself, for WZNW model, does not demand that the survived Kac-Moody currents should be preserved to have clear conformal dimensions.

Abstract:In a recent paper Zhuoke Yang, New approaches to ${\mathfrak gl}(N)$ weight system, Izvestiya Mathematics, 2023, vol. 77:6, 150--166; <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2202.12225" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2202.12225">arXiv:2202.12225</a> (2022) a construction of a weight system, which unifies ${\mathfrak gl}(N)$ weight systems for $N=1,2,\dots$, has been suggested. The construction is based on an extension of the ${\mathfrak gl}(N)$ weight systems to permutations. This universal weight system takes values in the algebra of polynomials ${\mathbb C}[N;C_1,C_2,\dots]$ in infinitely many variables. We show that under the substitution $C_m=xN^{m-1}$, $m=1,2,\dots$, the leading term in $N$ of the value of the universal ${\mathfrak gl}$ weight system becomes the chromatic polynomial of the intersection graph of the chord diagram. Moreover, we show that under the substition $C_m=p_m N^{m-1}$, $m=1,2,\dots$, the leading term in $N$ of the value of the universal ${\mathfrak gl}$ weight system determines a flitered Hopf algebra homomorphism from the rotational Hopf algebra of permutations, which we construct in the present paper, to the Hopf algebra of polynomials ${\mathbb C}[p_1,p_2,\dots]$.

Abstract:The Bershadsky--Polyakov algebras are the subregular quantum hamiltonian reductions of the affine vertex operator algebras associated with $\mathfrak{sl}_3$. In <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2007.00396" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2007.00396">arXiv:2007.00396</a> [math.QA], we realised these algebras in terms of the regular reduction, Zamolodchikov's W$_3$-algebra, and an isotropic lattice vertex operator algebra. We also proved that a natural construction of relaxed highest-weight Bershadsky--Polyakov modules gives modules that are generically irreducible. Here, we prove that this construction, when combined with spectral flow twists, gives a complete set of irreducible weight modules whose weight spaces are finite-dimensional. This gives a simple independent proof of the main classification theorem of <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2007.03917" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2007.03917">arXiv:2007.03917</a> [math.RT] for nondegenerate admissible levels and extends this classification to a category of weight modules. We also deduce the classification for the nonadmissible level $\mathsf{k}=-\frac{7}{3}$, which is new.

Minimal models, modular linear differential equations and modular forms of fractional weights

Abstract:We show that modular forms of fractional weights on principal congruence subgroups of odd levels, which are found by T. Ibukiyama, naturally appear as characters being multiplied $\eta^{c_{\text{eff}}}$ of the so-called minimal models of type $(2, p)$, where $c_{\text{eff}}$ is the effective central charge of a minimal model. Using this fact and modular invariance property of the space of characters, we give a different proof of the result showned by Ibukiyama that is the explicit formula representing $\mathrm{SL}_{2}(\mathbb{Z})$ on the space of the ibukiyama modular forms. We also find several pairs of spaces of the Ibukiyama modular forms on $\Gamma(m)$ and $\Gamma(n)$ with $m|n$ having the property that the former are included in the latter. Finally, we construct vector-valued modular forms of weight $k\in\frac{1}{5}\mathbb{Z}_{>0}$ starting from the Ibukiyama modular forms of weight $k\in\frac{1}{5}\mathbb{Z}_{>0}$ with some multiplier system by a symmetric tensor product of this representation and show that the components functions coincides with the solution space of some monic modular linear differential equation of weight $k$ and the order $1+5k$.

Abstract:Linear codes with a few weights can be applied to secrete sharing, authentication codes, association schemes and strongly regular graphs. For an odd prime power $q$, we construct a class of three-weight $\F_q$-linear codes from quadratic functions via a bivariate construction and then determine the complete weight enumerators and weight hierarchies of these linear codes completely. This paper generalizes some results in Li et al. (2022) and Hu et al. (2024).

Abstract:The theta series of the two unimodular even positive definite lattices of rank 16 are known to be linearly dependent in degree at most 3 and linearly independent in degree 4. In this paper we consider the next case of the 24 Niemeier lattices of rank 24. The associated theta series are linearly dependent in degree at most 11 and linearly independent in degree 12. The resulting Siegel cusp form of degree 12 and weight 12 is a Hecke eigenform which seems to have interesting properties.

Special function models of indecomposable $sl(2)$ representations: The Laguerre Case

Abstract:In this paper, we point out connections between certain types of indecomposable representations of $sl(2)$ and generalizations of well-known orthogonal polynomials. Those representations take the form of infinite dimensional chains of weight or generalised weight spaces, for which the Cartan generator acts in a diagonal way or via Jordan blocks. The other generators of the Lie algebras $sl(2)$ act as raising and lowering operators but are now allowed to relate the different chains as well. In addition, we construct generating functions, we calculate the action of the Casimir invariant and present relations to systems of non-homogeneous second-order coupled differential equations. We present different properties as higher-order linear differential equations for building blocks taking the form of one variable polynomials. We also present insight into the zeroes and recurrence relations.

Abstract:For a simple complex Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, fixing a principal $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-triple and highest weight vectors induces a basis of $\mathfrak{g}$ as vector space. For $\mathfrak{sl}_n$, we describe how to compute the Lie bracket in this basis using transvectants. This generalizes a well-known rule for $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ using Poisson brackets and degree 2 monomials in two variables. Our proof method uses a graphical calculus for classical invariant theory. Other Lie algebra types are discussed.

Abstract:We construct a class of non-weight modules over the twisted N=2 superconformal algebra L. Let h=CL0⊕CG0 be the Cartan subalgebra of L, and let t=CL0 be the Cartan subalgebra of even part L0¯. These modules over L when restricted to the h are free of rank 1 or when restricted to the t are free of rank 2. We provide the necessary and sufficient conditions for these modules to be simple, and give the necessary and sufficient conditions for two such L-modules to be isomorphic. We also compute the action of an automorphism on them. Moreover, based on the weighting functor introduced in [15], a class of intermediate series modules At(σ) are obtained.
Duality for the $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ weight system

Abstract:The $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ weight system, corresponding to the colored Jones polynomial of knots, is one of the the simplest weight system for chord diagrams. Recent works have led to explicit computations of this weight system on chord diagrams with complete and complete bipartite intersection graphs using $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ weight systems on shares, i.e., on chord diagrams on two strands. In this paper, we continue our study of shares. We prove a conjecture by Lando about a duality of values of the $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ weight system on chord diagrams whose intersection graphs are joins of complementary graphs with discrete ones. To achieve this, we introduce the two-colored intersection graph of shares, define the inner product of shares, and use chord-adding operators.

A unified Casson-Lin invariant for the real forms of SL(2)

Abstract:We introduce a unified framework for counting representations of knot groups into $SU(2)$ and $SL(2, \mathbb{R})$. For a knot $K$ in the 3-sphere, Lin and others showed that a Casson-style count of $SU(2)$ representations with fixed meridional holonomy recovers the signature function of $K$. For knots whose complement contains no closed essential surface, we show there is an analogous count for $SL(2, \mathbb{R})$ representations. We then prove the $SL(2, \mathbb{R})$ count is determined by the $SU(2)$ count and a single integer $h(K)$, allowing us to show the existence of various $SL(2, \mathbb{R})$ representations using only elementary topological hypotheses. Combined with the translation extension locus of Culler-Dunfield, we use this to prove left-orderability of many 3-manifold groups obtained by cyclic branched covers and Dehn fillings on broad classes of knots. We give further applications to the existence of real parabolic representations, including a generalization of the Riley Conjecture (proved by Gordon) to alternating knots. These invariants exhibit some intriguing patterns that deserve explanation, and we include many open questions. The close connection between $SU(2)$ and $SL(2, \mathbb{R})$ comes from viewing their representations as the real points of the appropriate $SL(2, \mathbb{C})$ character variety. While such real loci are typically highly singular at the reducible characters that are common to both $SU(2)$ and $SL(2, \mathbb{R})$, in the relevant situations, we show how to resolve these real algebraic sets into smooth manifolds. We construct these resolutions using the geometric transition $S^2 \to \mathbb{E}^2 \to \mathbb{H}^2$, studied from the perspective of projective geometry, and they allow us to pass between Casson-Lin counts of $SU(2)$ and $SL(2, \mathbb{R})$ representations unimpeded.

Degenerate conformal blocks for the $W_3$ algebra at c=2 and Specht polynomials

Abstract:We study a homogeneous system of $d+8$ linear partial differential equations (PDEs) in $d$ variables arising from two-dimensional Conformal Field Theories (CFTs) with a $W_3$-symmetry algebra. In the CFT context, $d$ PDEs are third order and correspond to the null-state equations, whereas the remaining 8 PDEs (five being second order and three being first order) correspond to the $W_3$ global Ward identities. In the case of central charge $c=2$, we construct a subspace of the space of all solutions which grow no faster than a power law. We call this subspace the space of $W_3$ conformal blocks, and we provide a basis expressed in terms of Specht polynomials associated with column-strict, rectangular Young tableaux with three columns. The dimension of this space is a Kotska number and it coincides with CFT predictions, hence we conjecture that it exhausts the space of all solutions having a power law bound. Moreover, we prove that the space of $W_3$ conformal blocks is an irreducible representation of a certain diagram algebra defined from $\mathfrak{sl}_3$ webs that we call Kuperberg algebra. Finally, we formulate a precise conjecture relating the $W_3$ conformal blocks at $c=2$ to scaling limits of probabilities in the triple dimer model recently studied by Kenyon and Shi. We verify the conjecture for explicit examples up to $d=6$. For more general central charges, we expect that $W_3$ conformal blocks are related to scaling limits of probabilities in lattice models based on $\mathfrak{sl}_3$ webs.

Abstract:In this paper, we study non-weight representations of another two classes of Lie superalgebras T(p,s) of Block type, where p∈C and s=0,1 . We completely classify the free U(h) -modules of rank (1+1) over T(p,s) . As byproducts, we also obtain the non-weight representation results for four classes of non-semisimple finitely graded super-extensions of the Virasoro algebra.

Abstract:Let be a prime. If is a compact connected Lie group, or a connected reductive algebraic group in characteristic different from , and is a good prime for , we show that the number of weights of the -fusion system of is equal to the number of irreducible characters of its Weyl group. The proof relies on the classification of -stubborn subgroups in compact Lie groups.
