Abstract:Let G be a finite abelian group with |G| > 1. Let a (1), aEuro broken vertical bar, a (k) be k distinct elements of G and let b (1), aEuro broken vertical bar, b (k) be (not necessarily distinct) elements of G, where k is a positive integer smaller than the least prime divisor of |G|. We show that there is a permutation pi on {1, aEuro broken vertical bar,k} such that a (1) b (pi(1)), aEuro broken vertical bar, a (k) b (pi(k)) are distinct, provided that any other prime divisor of |G| (if there is any) is greater than k!. This in particular confirms the Dasgupta-Karolyi-Serra-Szegedy conjecture for abelian p-groups. We also pose a new conjecture involving determinants and characters, and show that its validity implies Snevily's conjecture for abelian groups of odd order. Our methods involve exterior algebras and characters.
Weight conjectures for $\ell$-compact groups and spetses

Abstract:Fundamental conjectures in modular representation theory of finite groups, more precisely, Alperin's Weight Conjecture and Robinson's Ordinary Weight Conjecture, can be expressed in terms of fusion systems. We use fusion systems to connect the modular representation theory of finite groups of Lie type to the theory of $\ell$-compact groups. Under some mild conditions we prove that the fusion systems associated to homotopy fixed points of $\ell$-compact groups satisfy an equation which for finite groups of Lie type is equivalent to Alperin's Weight Conjecture. For finite reductive groups, Robinson's Ordinary Weight Conjecture is closely related to Lusztig's Jordan decomposition of characters and the corresponding results for Brauer $\ell$-blocks. Motivated by this, we define the principal block of a spets attached to a spetsial ${\mathbb Z}_\ell$-reflection group, using the fusion system related to it via $\ell$-compact groups, and formulate an analogue of Robinson's conjecture for this block. We prove this formulation for an infinite family of cases as well as for some groups of exceptional type. Our results not only provide further strong evidence for the validity of the weight conjectures, but also point toward some yet unknown structural explanation for them purely in the framework of fusion systems.

Abstract:We study the weight modules over affine Kac-Moody algebras from the view point of vertex algebras, and determine the abelian category of weight modules for the simple affine vertex algebra $L_k(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ at any non-integral admissible level $k$. In particular, we show that the principal block of the category of weight modules over admissible $L_k(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ is equivalent to that of the corresponding (unrolled) small quantum group.

Abstract:In this paper, we study non-weight representations of another two classes of Lie superalgebras T(p,s) of Block type, where p∈C and s=0,1 . We completely classify the free U(h) -modules of rank (1+1) over T(p,s) . As byproducts, we also obtain the non-weight representation results for four classes of non-semisimple finitely graded super-extensions of the Virasoro algebra.

Abstract:We prove Turner's conjecture, which describes the blocks of the Hecke algebras of the symmetric groups up to derived equivalence as certain explicit Turner double algebras. Turner doubles are Schur-algebra-like `local' objects, which replace wreath products of Brauer tree algebras in the context of the Broué abelian defect group conjecture for blocks of symmetric groups with non-abelian defect groups. The main tools used in the proof are generalized Schur algebras corresponding to wreath products of zigzag algebras and imaginary semicuspidal quotients of affine KLR algebras.

Abstract:In the present paper, using the technique of localization, we determine the center of the quantum Schr\"{o}dinger algebra $\S_q$ and classify simple modules with finite-dimensional weight spaces over $\S_q$, when $q$ is not a root of unity. It turns out that there are four classes of such modules: dense $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$-modules, highest weight modules, lowest weight modules, and twisted modules of highest weight modules.

Abstract:We prove the Ramanujan and Sato-Tate conjectures for Bianchi modular forms of weight at least 2. More generally, we prove these conjectures for all regular algebraic cuspidal automorphic representations of $\mathrm{GL}_2(\mathbf{A}_F)$ of parallel weight, where $F$ is any CM field. We deduce these theorems from a new potential automorphy theorem for the symmetric powers of 2-dimensional compatible systems of Galois representations of parallel weight.

Abstract:We present a deterministic algorithm for computing spaces of weight 1 modular forms with exotic representations. This algorithm is an improved version of Schaeffer's Hecke stability method, utilising the author's previous work on the twist-minimal trace formula for weight 2 holomorphic forms, and presenting a method of lifting forms from characteristic p. The algorithm was used to compute all such forms with level at most 10,000. Together with Sutherland's computation of dihedral forms, this allows us to present the dimensions of all weight 1 newform spaces up to level 10,000.

Abstract:We work out the exact relationship between algebraic modular forms for a two-by-two general unitary group over a definite quaternion algebra, and those arising from genera of positive-definite quinary lattices, relating stabilisers of local lattices with specific open compact subgroups, paramodular at split places, and with Atkin-Lehner operators. Combining this with the recent work of Rösner and Weissauer, proving conjectures of Ibukiyama on Jacquet-Langlands type correspondences (mildly generalised here), provides an effective tool for computing Hecke eigenvalues for Siegel modular forms of degree two and paramodular level. It also enables us to prove examples of congruences of Hecke eigenvalues connecting Siegel modular forms of degrees two and one. These include some of a type conjectured by Harder at level one, supported by computations of Fretwell at higher levels, and a subtly different congruence discovered experimentally by Buzzard and Golyshev.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that if (n,q) is such chosen that the outer automorphism groups of PSLn(q) and PSUn(q) are cyclic, PSLn(q) and PSUn(q) satisfy the inductive blockwise Alperin weight condition for any prime ℓ different from the defining characteristic. To do this, it suffices to study actions of automorphisms on the Brauer characters and weights of GLn(q) and GUn(q) for ℓ, and to show that the blockwise bijection between Brauer characters and weights given in [1], [3], [4] and [5] is equivariant.

Abstract:We extend a theorem of Kessar and Linckelmann concerning Morita equivalences and Brauer character bijections between blocks to virtual Morita equivalences. As a corollary, we obtain that Navarro's refinement of Alperin's weight conjecture holds for blocks with cyclic and Klein four defect groups, blocks of symmetric and alternating groups with abelian defect groups, and $p$-blocks of ${\rm SL}_2(q)$ and ${\rm GL}_2(q)$, where $p|q$.

Abstract:As a sequel to [14], in this article we first introduce a so-called duplex Hecke algebras of type B which is a Q(q)-algebra associated with the Weyl group W (B) of type B, and symmetric groups S_l for l = 0, 1, . . . ,m, satisfying some Hecke relations. This notion originates from the degenerate duplex Hecke algebra arising from the course of study of a kind of Schur-Weyl duality of Levi-type, extending the duplex Hecke algebra of type A arising from the related q-Schur-Weyl duality of Levi-type. A duplex Hecke algebra of type B admits natural representations on certain tensor spaces. We then establish a Levi-type q-Schur-Weyl duality of type B, which reveals the double centralizer property between such duplex Hecke algebras and ıquantum groups studied by Bao-Wang in [1].

We prove that they have a well-behaved notion of Fourier coefficients, which are complex numbers defined up to multiplication by . We analyze the minimal modular form on the double cover of , following Loke–Savin and Ginzburg. Using , we define a modular form of weight on (the double cover of) . We prove that the Fourier coefficients of this modular form on see the -torsion in the narrow class groups of totally real cubic fields.

With a view towards a proof of this conjecture, we develop a general theory of Turner doubles. In particular, we describe doubles as explicit maximal symmetric subalgebras of certain generalized Schur algebras and establish a Schur–Weyl duality with wreath product algebras.

Abstract:The present notes are the expanded and polished version of three lectures given in Stanford, concerning the analytic and arithmetic properties of weight one modular forms. The author tried to write them in a style accessible to non-analytically oriented number theoritists: in particular, some effort is made to be precise on statements involving uniformity in the parameters. On the other hand, another purpose was to provide an introduction, together with a set of references, consciously kept small, to the realm of Galois representations, for non-algebraists -- like the author. The proofs are sketched, at best, but we tried to motivate the results, and to relate them to interesting conjectures.

Abstract:The Bershadsky--Polyakov algebras are the subregular quantum hamiltonian reductions of the affine vertex operator algebras associated with $\mathfrak{sl}_3$. In <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2007.00396" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2007.00396">arXiv:2007.00396</a> [math.QA], we realised these algebras in terms of the regular reduction, Zamolodchikov's W$_3$-algebra, and an isotropic lattice vertex operator algebra. We also proved that a natural construction of relaxed highest-weight Bershadsky--Polyakov modules gives modules that are generically irreducible. Here, we prove that this construction, when combined with spectral flow twists, gives a complete set of irreducible weight modules whose weight spaces are finite-dimensional. This gives a simple independent proof of the main classification theorem of <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2007.03917" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2007.03917">arXiv:2007.03917</a> [math.RT] for nondegenerate admissible levels and extends this classification to a category of weight modules. We also deduce the classification for the nonadmissible level $\mathsf{k}=-\frac{7}{3}$, which is new.

Minimal models, modular linear differential equations and modular forms of fractional weights

Abstract:We show that modular forms of fractional weights on principal congruence subgroups of odd levels, which are found by T. Ibukiyama, naturally appear as characters being multiplied $\eta^{c_{\text{eff}}}$ of the so-called minimal models of type $(2, p)$, where $c_{\text{eff}}$ is the effective central charge of a minimal model. Using this fact and modular invariance property of the space of characters, we give a different proof of the result showned by Ibukiyama that is the explicit formula representing $\mathrm{SL}_{2}(\mathbb{Z})$ on the space of the ibukiyama modular forms. We also find several pairs of spaces of the Ibukiyama modular forms on $\Gamma(m)$ and $\Gamma(n)$ with $m|n$ having the property that the former are included in the latter. Finally, we construct vector-valued modular forms of weight $k\in\frac{1}{5}\mathbb{Z}_{>0}$ starting from the Ibukiyama modular forms of weight $k\in\frac{1}{5}\mathbb{Z}_{>0}$ with some multiplier system by a symmetric tensor product of this representation and show that the components functions coincides with the solution space of some monic modular linear differential equation of weight $k$ and the order $1+5k$.
