Abstract:We propose an efficacious approach to derive the generalized parton distributions for the pion and proton, based upon prior knowledge of their respective parton distribution functions (PDFs). Our method leverages on integral representations of the electromagnetic form factors derived from the light-front holographic QCD (LFHQCD) formalism, coupled with PDFs computed from continuum Schwinger functional methods at the hadronic scale. Using these techniques, we calculate gravitational form factors and associated mass distributions for each hadron. Remarkably, our calculations yield results that closely match recent lattice QCD simulations conducted near the physical pion mass. This work not only deepens our understanding of hadronic structure but also highlights the efficacy of the LFHQCD approach in modeling fundamental properties of hadrons.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main problem that this paper attempts to solve is to derive the generalized parton distributions (GPDs) of pions and protons through the light - front holographic quantum chromodynamics (LFHQCD) method, and use these GPDs to calculate the gravitational form factors (GFFs) and their associated mass distributions. Specifically, the researchers proposed an effective method. Based on the known parton distribution functions (PDFs), they integrated to represent the electromagnetic form factors (EFFs) and combined the PDFs calculated by the continuous Schwinger functional method at the hadron scale to derive GPDs. This method not only deepens the understanding of hadron structure but also demonstrates the effectiveness of the LFHQCD method in modeling the basic properties of hadrons. ### Main problems to be solved: 1. **Derivation of GPDs**: - The researchers proposed a method based on known PDFs. By integrating to represent EFFs and combining with the LFHQCD framework, they derived the GPDs of pions and protons. 2. **Calculation of GFFs**: - Using the above - derived GPDs, calculate the gravitational form factors (GFFs) of pions and protons and their associated mass distributions. 3. **Verification of the consistency between theory and experimental results**: - Compare the calculation results with the recent lattice QCD (lQCD) simulation results, especially in the case of approaching the physical pion mass, to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical prediction. ### Methods and results: - **Methods**: - Use the LFHQCD method, integrate to represent EFFs, and combine with PDFs to derive GPDs. - Calculate GFFs and compare them with lQCD simulation results. - **Results**: - The study found that the calculated GFFs of pions and protons are very consistent with the recent lQCD simulation results. This not only verifies the effectiveness of the LFHQCD method but also provides an in - depth understanding of the internal structure of hadrons. ### Significance: - **Theoretical verification**: - This research verifies the effectiveness of the LFHQCD method in modeling the basic properties of hadrons, providing a new approach for further theoretical research and experimental verification. - **Experimental guidance**: - Through the comparison between theoretical calculations and experimental results, it provides guidance for experimental design in high - luminosity and high - energy facilities. - **Future prospects**: - The researchers plan to continue exploring related topics, especially expanding to the study of spin - related form factors and parton distributions, further deepening the understanding of the most complex aspects of quantum chromodynamics (QCD).
