Abstract: We describe the proof that the period map from the Torelli space of Calabi-Yau manifolds to the classifying space of polarized Hodge structures is an embedding. The proof is based on the constructions of holomorphic affine structure on the Teichm\"uller space and Hodge metric completion of the Torelli space. A canonical global holomorphic section of the holomorphic $(n, 0)$ class on the Teichm\"uller space is constructed.

Abstract:We show that the cardinality of the transverse intersection of two compact exact Lagrangian submanifolds in a cotangent bundle is bounded from below by the dimension of the Hom space of sheaf quantizations of the Lagrangians in Tamarkin's category. Our sheaf-theoretic method can also deal with clean and degenerate Lagrangian intersections.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the non-vanishing conjecture for cotangent bundles on isotrivial elliptic surfaces. Combined with the result by Höring and Peternell, it completely solves the question for surfaces with Kodaira dimension at most $1$.

Abstract:We introduce a semi-algebraic structure on the set  of all isotopy classes of non-separating simple closed curves in any compact oriented surface and show that the structure is finitely generated. As a consequence, we produce a natural finite dimensional linear representation of the mapping class group of the surface. Applications to the Teichmüller space, Thurston's measured lamination space, the harmonic Beltrami differentials, and the first cohomology groups of the surface are discussed.

Abstract:Let X be a compact, Kahler, Calabi-Yau threefold and suppose X ↦X_⇝Xt$X\mapsto \underline{X}\leadsto X_t$ , for t & ISIN;& UDelta;$t\in \Delta$, is a conifold transition obtained by contracting finitely many disjoint (-1,-1)$(-1,-1)$ curves in X and then smoothing the resulting ordinary double point singularities. We show that, for |t|MUCH LESS-THAN1$|t|\ll 1$ sufficiently small, the tangent bundle T1,0Xt$T<^>{1,0}X_{t}$ admits a Hermitian-Yang-Mills metric Ht$H_t$ with respect to the conformally balanced metrics constructed by Fu-Li-Yau. Furthermore, we describe the behavior of Ht$H_t$ near the vanishing cycles of Xt$X_t$ as t & RARR;0$t\rightarrow 0$.

Abstract:We consider exact Lagrangian submanifolds in cotangent bundles. Under certain additional restrictions (triviality of the fundamental group of the cotangent bundle, and of the Maslov class and second Stiefel–Whitney class of the Lagrangian submanifold) we prove such submanifolds are Floer-cohomologically indistinguishable from the zero-section. This implies strong restrictions on their topology. An essentially equivalent result was recently proved independently by Nadler [16], using a different approach.

Abstract:For $n\geq 3$, let $M$ be an $(n+r)$-dimensional irreducible Hermitian symmetric space of compact type and let $\mathcal{O}_M(1)$ be the ample generator of $Pic(M)$. Let $Y=H_1\cap\dots\cap H_r$ be a smooth complete intersection of dimension $n$ where $H_i\in\vert \mathcal{O}_M(d_i)\vert$ with $d_i\geq 2$. We prove a vanishing theorem for twisted holomorphic forms on $Y$. As an application, we show that the tangent bundle $T_Y$ of $Y$ is stable. Moreover, if $X$ is a smooth hypersurface of degree $d$ in $Y$ such that the restriction $Pic(Y)\rightarrow Pic(X)$ is surjective, we establish some effective results for $d$ to guarantee the stability of the restriction $T_Y\vert_X$. In particular, if $Y$ is a general hypersurface in $\mathbb{P}^{n+1}$ and $X$ is general smooth divisor in $Y$, we show that $T_Y\vert_X$ is stable except for some well-known examples. We also address the cases where the Picard group increases by restriction.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that a smooth projective globally $F$-split variety with numerically flat tangent bundle is an étale quotient of an ordinary abelian variety. We also show its logarithmic analog, which contains a characterization of toric varieties. We further prove that, without assumption of global $F$-splitting, a smooth projective separably rationally connected variety of arbitrary characteristic with numerically flat log cotangent bundle is a toric variety.

Suppose $k^{TM}\geq ({\dim M})({\dim M}-1)$ on the support of ${\rm d}f$, we show that $\inf(k^{TM})<0$. This answers a question of Gromov.

Boundary Behavior of Compact Manifolds With Scalar Curvature Lower Bounds and Static Quasi-Local Mass of Tori

Abstract:A classic result of Shi and Tam states that a 2-sphere of positive Gauss and mean curvature bounding a compact 3-manifold with nonnegative scalar curvature, must have total mean curvature not greater than that of the isometric embedding into Euclidean 3-space, with equality only for domains in this reference manifold. We generalize this result to 2-tori of Guass curvature greater than $-1$, which bound a compact 3-manifold having scalar curvature not less than $-6$ and at least one other boundary component satisfying a 'trapping condition'. The conclusion is that the total weighted mean curvature is not greater than that of an isometric embedding into the Kottler manifold, with equality only for domains in this space. Examples are given to show that the assumption of a secondary boundary component cannot be removed. The result gives a positive mass theorem for the static Brown-York mass of tori, in analogy to the Shi-Tam positivity of the standard Brown-York mass, and represents the first such quasi-local mass positivity result for non-spherical surfaces. Furthermore, we prove a Penrose-type inequality in this setting.

A mirror theorem for non-split toric bundles

Abstract:We construct an I-function for toric bundles obtained as a fiberwise GIT quotient of a (not necessarily split) vector bundle. This is a generalization of Brown's I-function for split toric bundles and the I-function for non-split projective bundles. In order to prove the mirror theorem, we establish a characterization of points on the Givental Lagrangian cones of toric bundles and prove a mirror theorem for the twisted Gromov-Witten theory of a fiber product of projective bundles. The former result generalizes Brown's characterization for split toric bundles to the non-split case.

Abstract:The SYZ conjecture suggests a folklore that “Lagrangian multi-sections are mirror to holomorphic vector bundles”. In this paper, we prove this folklore for Lagrangian multi-sections inside the cotangent bundle of a vector space, which are equivariantly mirror to complete toric varieties by the work of Fang-Liu-Treumann-Zaslow. We also introduce the Lagrangian realization problem, which asks whether one can construct an unobstructed Lagrangian multi-section with asymptotic conditions prescribed by a tropical Lagrangian multi-section. We solve the realization problem for tropical Lagrangian multi-sections over a complete 2-dimensional fan that satisfy the so-called N-generic condition. As an application, we show that every rank 2 toric vector bundle on the projective plane is mirror to a Lagrangian multi-section.

Abstract:We prove that the tangent and the reflexivized cotangent sheaves of any normal projective klt Calabi-Yau or irreducible holomorphic symplectic variety are not pseudoeffective, generalizing results of A. Höring and T. Peternell <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1710.06183v2" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1710.06183v2">arXiv:1710.06183v2</a> [math.AG]. We provide examples of Calabi-Yau varieties of small dimension with singularities in codimension 2.

Abstract:We study toroidal compactification of Matrix theory, using ideas and results of non-commutative geometry. We generalize this to compactification on the noncommutative torus, explain the classification of these backgrounds, and argue that they correspond in supergravity to tori with constant background three-form tensor field.
