Abstract:We prove a uniform diameter estimate and a uniform local non-collapsing of volumes for a large family of Kaehler metrics generalizing those obtained recently by Guo-Phong-Song-Sturm. We treat also similar questions in the singular setting.

Abstract:We generalize previous diameter estimates and local non-vanishing of volumes for Kaehler metrics to the case of big cohomology classes. In our proof, among other things, we will prove a uniform diameter estimate for a family of smooth Kaehler metrics only involving an integrability condition. We also have to use fine stability properties of complex Monge-Ampere equations with prescribed singularities.

Abstract:Diameter estimates for Kähler metrics are established which require only an entropy bound and no lower bound on the Ricci curvature. The proof builds on recent PDE techniques for L∞ estimates for the Monge–Ampère equation, with a key improvement allowing degeneracies of the volume form of codimension strictly greater than one. As a consequence, we solve the long‐standing problem of uniform diameter bounds and Gromov–Hausdorff convergence of the Kähler–Ricci flow, for both finite‐time and long‐time solutions.

Abstract:In this short note, we remove the small degeneracy assumption in our earlier works [10, 11]. This is achieved by a technical improvement of Corollary 5.1 in [10]. As a consequence, we establish the same geometric estimates for diameter, Green's functions and Sobolev inequalities under an entropy bound for the Kähler metrics, without any small degeneracy assumption.

Abstract:We establish a uniform Sobolev inequality for Kähler metrics, which only require an entropy bound and no lower bound on the Ricci curvature. We further extend our Sobolev inequality to singular Kähler metrics on Kähler spaces with normal singularities. This allows us to build a general theory of global geometric analysis on singular Kähler spaces including the spectral theorem, heat kernel estimates, eigenvalue estimates and diameter estimates. Such estimates were only known previously in very special cases such as Bergman metrics. As a consequence, we derive various geometric estimates, such as the diameter estimate and the Sobolev inequality, for Kähler-Einstein currents on projective varieties with definite or vanishing first Chern class.

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the interpolation-degneration strategy to study Kahler-Einstein metrics on a smooth Fano manifold with cone singularities along a smooth divisor that is proportional to the anti-canonical divisor. By interpolation we show the angles in (0,2�) that admit a conical Kahler-Einstein metric form an interval; and by degeneration we figure out the boundary of the interval. As a first application, we show that there exists a Kahler-Einstein metric on P 2 with cone singularity along a smooth conic (degree 2) curve if and only if the angle is in (�/2,2�). When the an- gle is 2�/3 this proves the existence of a Sasaki-Einstein metric on the link of a three dimensional A2 singularity, and thus answers a problem posed by Gauntlett-Martelli- Sparks-Yau. As a second application we prove a version of Donaldson's conjecture about conical Kahler-Einstein metrics in the toric case using Song-Wang's recent existence result of toric invariant conical Kahler-Einstein metrics.

Abstract:It is conjectured by Song-Tian that the normalized Kahler-Ricci flow on compact Kahler manifolds with semi-ample canonical line bundle is uniformly smooth away from the singular fibers. In this work, we adapt the method in the work of Hein-Tosatti on collapsing Calabi-Yau metrics and obtain a uniform spatial Holder estimate along the normalized Kahler-Ricci flow for all time away from the singular fiber.

Abstract: We investigate the collapsing geometry of hyperk\"ahler 4-manifolds. As applications we prove two well-known conjectures in the field. (1) Any collapsed limit of unit-diameter hyperk\"ahler metrics on the K3 manifold is isometric to one of the following: the quotient of a flat 3-torus by an involution, a singular special K\"ahler metric on the 2-sphere, or the unit interval. (2) Any complete hyperk\"ahler 4-manifold with finite energy (i.e., gravitational instanton) is asymptotic to a model end at infinity.

Abstract:We prove that Calabi–Yau metrics on compact Calabi–Yau manifolds whose Kähler classes shrink the fibers of a holomorphic fibration have a priori estimates of all orders away from the singular fibers. To this end, we prove an asymptotic expansion of these metrics in terms of powers of the fiber diameter, with kth ‐order remainders that satisfy uniform Ck ‐estimates with respect to a collapsing family of background metrics. The constants in these estimates are uniform not only in the sense that they are independent of the fiber diameter, but also in the sense that they only depend on the constant in the estimate for k=0 known from previous work of the second‐named author. For k>0 , the new estimates are proved by blowup and contradiction, and each additional term of the expansion arises as the obstruction to proving a uniform bound on one additional derivative of the remainder.

Abstract:Let $\mathbb{P}\Omega^d\mathcal{M}_{0,n}(\kappa)$, where $\kappa=(k_1,\dots,k_n)$, be a stratum of (projectivized) $d$-differentials in genus $0$. We prove a recursive formula which relates the volume of $\mathbb{P}\Omega^d\mathcal{M}_{0,n}(\kappa)$ to the volumes of other strata of lower dimensions in the case where none of the $k_i$ is divisible by $d$. As an application, we give a new proof of the Kontsevich's formula for the volumes of strata of quadratic differentials with simple poles and zeros of odd order, which was originally proved by Athreya-Eskin-Zorich. In another application, we show that up to some power of $\pi$, the volume of the moduli spaces of flat metrics on the sphere with prescribed cone angles is a continuous piecewise polynomial with rational coefficients function of the angles, provided none of the angles is an integral multiple of $2\pi$. This generalizes the results of [28] and [24].

Abstract:We prove that constant scalar curvature K\"ahler metric "adjacent" to a fixed K\"ahler class is unique up to isomorphism. This extends the uniqueness theorem of Donaldson and Chen-Tian, and formally fits into the infinite dimensional G.I.T picture described by Donaldson. We prove that the Calabi flow near a cscK metric exists globally and converges uniformly to a cscK metric in a polynomial rate. Viewed in a K\"ahler class, the Calabi flow is also shown to be asymptotic to a smooth geodesic ray at infinity. This latter fact is also interesting in the finite dimensional analogue, where we show that the downward gradient flow of the Kempf-Ness function in a semi-stable orbit is asymptotic to the direction of optimal degeneration.

Abstract:We exhibit families of Ricci-flat Kahler metrics on K3 surfaces which collapse to an interval, with Tian-Yau and Taub-NUT metrics occurring as bubbles. There is a corresponding continuous surjective map from the K3 surface to the interval, with regular fibers diffeomorphic to either 3-tori or Heisenberg nilmanifolds.

Abstract:We prove uniform convergence of metrics $g_k$ on a closed surface with bounded integral curvature (measure) in the sense of A.D. Alexandrov, under the assumption that the curvature measures $\mathbb{K}_{g_k}=\mu^1_k-\mu^2_k$, where $\mu^1_k,\mu^2_k$ are nonnegative Radon measures converging weakly to measures $\mu^1,\mu^2$ respectively, and $\mu^1$ is less than $2\pi$ at each point (no cusps). This is the global version of Yu. G. Reshetnyak's well-known result on uniform convergence of metrics on a domain in $\mathbb{C}$, and answers affirmatively the open question on the metric convergence on a closed surface. We also give an analytic proof of the fact that a (singular) metric $g=e^{2u}g_0$ with bounded integral curvature on a closed Riemannian surface $(\Sigma,g_0)$ can be approximated by smooth metrics in the fixed conformal class $[g_0]$

Algebraic geometry of bubbling Kahler metrics

Abstract:We give an algebro-geometric or non-archimedean framework to study bubbling phenomena of Kahler metrics with Euclidean volume growth, after [DS17, Sun23, dBS23]. In particular, for any degenerating family to log terminal singularity, we algebraically construct a finite sequence of birational modifications of the family with milder degenerations, and compare with analytic bubbling constructions in loc.cit. We also provide approaches in terms of coordinates and valuations. Our discussion partially depends on the general framework of stability theory in our [Od24b] (<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2406.02489" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2406.02489">arXiv:2406.02489</a>) after [HL14, AHLH23].

Kähler--Einstein metrics on quasi-projective manifolds

Abstract:Let $X$ be a compact Kähler manifold and $D$ be a simple normal crossing divisor on $X$ such that $K_X+D$ is big and nef. We first prove that the singular Kähler--Einstein metric constructed by Berman--Guenancia is almost-complete on $X \backslash D$ in the sense of Tian--Yau. In our second main result, we establish the weak convergence of conic Kähler--Einstein metrics of negative curvature to the above-mentioned metric when $K_X+D$ is merely big, answering partly a recent question posed by Biquard--Guenancia. Potentials of low energy play an important role in our approach.

A discrete uniformization theorem for decorated piecewise hyperbolic metrics on surfaces

Abstract:In this paper, we study a natural discretization of the smooth Gaussian curvature on surfaces. A discrete uniformization theorem is established for this discrete Gaussian curvature. We further investigate the prescribing combinatorial curvature problem for a parametrization of this discrete Gaussian curvature, which is called the combinatorial $\alpha$-curvature. To find decorated piecewise hyperbolic metrics with prescribed combinatorial $\alpha$-curvatures, we introduce the combinatorial $\alpha$-Ricci flow for decorated piecewise hyperbolic metrics. To handle the potential singularities along the combinatorial $\alpha$-Ricci flow, we do surgery along the flow by edge flipping under the weighted Delaunay condition. Then we prove the longtime existence and convergence of the combinatorial $\alpha$-Ricci flow with surgery. As an application of the combinatorial $\alpha$-Ricci flow with surgery, we give the existence of decorated piecewise hyperbolic metrics with prescribed combinatorial $\alpha$-curvatures. We further introduce the combinatorial $\alpha$-Calabi flow with surgery and study its longtime behavior.
